Description

The present invention relates to a hospital and / or nursing bed with a side rail and a side rail for mounting on a corresponding bed.

Nursing and care beds often require a side rail to prevent a person from accidentally falling out of bed or rolling. The side rail extends on at least one of the longitudinal sides of the bed and can be brought into a use and a non-use position. In the position of use, the corresponding bed longitudinal side, or at least a portion thereof, should be secured. When not in use, the long side is released, so that the user can leave the bed unhindered. The side rails should not extend above a mattress located on the bed, as this would cause an unpleasant pressure on the thigh for a person sitting on the edge of the bed. In this sense, the side rails in the non-use position should have a compact size as possible. The "conversion" from the non- to the use position and vice versa should be as simple and intuitive as possible, so that this is not possible for a technically untrained person without any special instructions. The possibility of a wrong operation should be prevented. DE 20 2013 004672 U1 and EP 2 263 632 A1 each discloses a side rail device with a parallel running device.
From these requirements, the invention is based problem of the corresponding improvement of known embodiments. This problem is solved with the features of the independent claims. Preferred developments emerge from the subclaims.

A side rail for mounting on a hospital and / or nursing bed comprises a movable side rail element, which has at bearing opposite ends in bed longitudinal bearing areas, which are mounted movable relative to holding elements. In this case, the side rail is set up to effect a train in a tension element during a relative movement of a bearing area to the associated holding element. The train causes a relative movement of the storage area of the other end of the side rail element relative to the associated holding element and / or supports them. The train comprises in particular a pulling movement. So a local displacement of the tension element. In this way, can be mutually transmitted via the tension element from one end of the side rail element to the other by what amount has shifted on the respective sides of the side rail element relative to the associated holding elements. An unequal motion is an indication of (incipient) tilting of the side rail element within the guide. Over forces building up in the tension element, a compensating force is effected on a lifting movement of the side rail element on the respectively lower side. The tension element is preferably aligned in sections in the longitudinal direction of the side rail element.

According to the invention, the side rail comprises a guide with a plurality of deflection points, in particular deflection rollers, which are mounted on the side rail element such that, when the side rail is properly mounted on the bed for the tension element, at least one section results in which the tension element is oriented substantially vertically in the vertical section on the tension element a holding point is provided, which is arranged stationary relative to the holding elements. The tension element is mounted over the deflection points (or rollers). As a result, a vertical movement of the side rail element can be achieved easily. Since the deflection points are preferably mounted within the side rail element, a compact design with a large displaceability of the side rail element results.

In this case, the side rail element comprises a telescopic element or a hand rail, which is connected in an attachment point with a vertically oriented portion of the tension element. Thus, the relative movement of the side rail element is coupled relative to the holding elements with the relative movement of the telescopic element to the side rail element. Thus, with only one movement at the same time the side rail element in its closed position (ie use position) brought and at the same time the telescopic element are extended. Optionally, according to the preference of the user, he can attack on the telescopic element or on the side rail element. Preferably, the attachment point of the telescopic element to the Tension element and the breakpoint of the tension element on the holding element different points.

In a non-claimed embodiment, a guide for the tension element comprises a plurality of deflection points, in particular deflection rollers, which are mounted on at least one carrier fixed to the holding elements so that when properly mounted the side rail on the bed for the tension element at least one section results, in which the tension member is oriented substantially vertically, wherein in the vertical portion of the tension element, a holding point is provided, which is connected to the side rail element. This embodiment, describes a variant in which the deflection rollers on the frame of the bed or attachment attached thereto (s) is attached. So it is possible to carry out the side rails particularly easily.

Preferably, two of the said holding points are arranged at the opposite ends of the side rail element. This makes it possible, with only one tension element, which is preferably guided twice in Seitengitterelementlängsrichtung from one end to the other, to counteract tilting of the side rail element in both cases, if it is raised off-center either more at the head end or end-side end.

In preferred embodiments, the tension member may comprise a wire, a belt, a toothed belt, a chain or the like. This is preferably a bendable element with a high tensile strength and preferably a low elasticity. The tension member may have a toothing so as to increase the synchronization. In this case, at least two of the deflection rollers of the side rail element may have teeth for engagement with the tension element and also a further toothing which is in engagement with a rack. The rack is fixed relative to the holding elements arranged so that the gear can roll against the rack. About the synchronous running of the toothed pulleys a torsionally rigid lateral movement of the side rail element is made possible.

In a further preferred embodiment, the side rail element comprises a telescopic element or a hand rail, which is displaceably, preferably vertically displaceable, movably mounted against the side rail element. Thus, an increase in the protection range of the side rail can be achieved without the height of the side rail increases in its non-use position accordingly.

Further detents may be provided to hold the side rail element and / or the hand rail in the position of use and / or the extended state and / or at least one intermediate position. This gives the user the opportunity to use the side rails in intermediate positions.

Also, the side rail element may comprise a telescopic element or a hand rail, which (s) has a lower edge, which lies in the non-extended state of the telescopic element below the upper edge of the main body of the side rail element. The main body of the side rail element is understood to be the integral part constituting the main surface of the side rail. When pushing the telescopic element in the extended position results in a gap between the upper edge of the side rail element and the lower edge of the telescopic element. This may not be greater than 120 mm for safety reasons. Due to the structure described, the displacement of the telescopic element may be greater than the said amount, without the gap exceeds the limit of 120 mm.

In particular, a spring, preferably a tension spring, coupled with one end to the tension element and the other end to the side rail element and be adapted to absorb and store the potential energy during lowering of the side rail element, in particular, the pulling direction of the spring is aligned in the side rail longitudinal direction. This makes it easier for the user to lift the side rail element. Also, the extent of the side grid element in its longitudinal direction is significantly greater than in its height direction, ie the orientation of its carrier 21st

Fig. 1 shows a bed, especially a hospital and / or nursing bed in a perspective view in which two side rails are arranged on both sides of the bed, which together secure the respective bed longitudinal side completely, so that a person in bed then can not fall out of bed when the bed is in its position of use. At the head end, a head part 2 is arranged and at the opposite foot end a corresponding foot part.

Fig. 2 shows the shown in the foreground and head-side side rails 10 in the position of use. In this case, a side rail element 20 of the side rail 10 was pushed upwards. The side rail upper edge is at least 12 cm, preferably at least 14 cm above the mattress (not shown). This height ensures that under normal circumstances nobody unintentionally falls out of bed. Since two side rails are arranged over the side of the bed, it is possible to secure the bed at the head end (ie in the position of use) and not secured at the foot end (ie in the non-use position). On the one hand, a person can leave the bed when pushing towards the foot of the bed. On the other hand, at the same time the head end through the side rails in secured the use position. Especially the head end-side protection is often desired, as it prevents a person with the upper body first rolls out of bed and so possibly the head hits the ground.

Each of the four side rails is preferably constructed identically. There are two carriers 21 (see Fig. 6 ) of the sliding side rail element 20 is fastened to the frame 5 of the bed via retaining elements 30. The two carriers 21 have a vertical extension of at least about 30 cm and the two carriers 21 are connected to two bars 12, which have a height of about 120 mm. Between the spars there is a gap 13 (in the vertical direction) of 120 mm or less. For example, if the gap 13 had a height greater than 120mm, children could stick their head through it, or a person could catch their arms or legs in it. The movable side rail element 20 is in one piece and preferably consists of the two carriers 21 and the bars 12 together. In front of the carriers 21 are covers 26 (see FIG Fig. 2 ), so that the in Fig. 4 or Fig. 6 shown mechanism is not visible. Alternatively, the side rail element may have a continuous plate or grid structure or the like which extends, for example, minus the required storage areas over the entire length of the side rail.

Nachfolgend wird zunächst die dritte Ausführungsform erläutert:In comparison of the Fig. 2 and Fig. 3 As can be seen, the side rail element 20 comprises an extendable hand rail 60. In guides of the side rail element 20 profiles 65 of the handrail 60 are guided, which allow the handrail 60 to move by a travel of at least 10 cm upwards. There are three different variants of the handrail: First, there is an embodiment (not shown) in which no corresponding handrail is used. Second, there are according to FIGS. 2 and 3 an embodiment in which the movement of the main body of the side rail member 20 relative to its support members 30 is independent of the movement of the hand rail 60. That is, regardless of the position of the main body of the side rail member 20, the user can determine whether the handrail 60 should be extended or retracted. Furthermore, in a third embodiment, there is a direct and / or immediate coupling of the extension movement of the handrail 60 from the main body of the Side rail element 20 to the movement of the side rail element 20 relative to its holding elements 30. Hereinafter, the third embodiment will be explained first:

Fig. 4 zeigt dabei eine Zwischenstellung. Fig. 4 shows a portion of the side rail, in which the covers 26 have been removed, which are located in front of the carriers 21. On the right side, the head part 2 of the bed is shown, which is attached to the bed frame 5. The bed frame 5 also serves as a support for the holding member 30. The holding member 30 includes for an angle plate (see Fig. 6 ), to which a pipe section 31 attached, preferably welded, is. A guide 25, in particular a guide tube, is fixedly connected to the side grid element 20 and is guided with a sliding guide within the tube section 31 of the holding element 30, so that the side grid element 20 is vertically displaceable over a travel distance of 25 cm, preferably at least 20 cm , Fig. 4 shows an intermediate position. At a breakpoint 56 of the support member 30 is a tension member 50, in particular a wire rope attached. The cable guide of the tension element 50 is shown schematically in FIG Fig. 5 shown with the side rails in its non-use position. The tension member 50 is fixed at both ends of the side rail member 20 at stopping points 56 fixed to the frame 5 of the bed. The tension member 50 is first vertically down from the breakpoint 56 shown on the right, passed to the lower end of the side rail element 20, where there is a guide roller 55. The tension element 50 is guided on the deflection roller 55 in the direction of the other end of the side rail element 20 and guided there by a further deflection roller 55 to the upper end of the side rail element 20, where it is passed through a further deflection roller 55 by 180 ° back to the lower end and is deflected from there to the first longitudinal end of the side rail element 20. Since the structure of the pulleys 55 is identical at both ends of the side rail element 20, there takes place a corresponding deflection until the rope passes back to the breakpoint 56 to which it is attached. At both axial ends of the side rail element 20 identical holding points 56 are provided. In a preferred embodiment, a turnbuckle may be provided in the horizontal portion of the rope 50 in the area for easy installation of the steel cord. This connection can be provided in particular in the region of the spring 70.

All six pulleys 55 are mounted on the movable side rail element 20. Now, when the side rail element 20 is moved upwards (see the vertical arrows above the ends of the side rail element), the tension element 50 lying parallel between the ends of the side rail element 20 moves according to the arrow directions shown. If the side rail element 20 is raised in the middle, no appreciable forces build up within the tension element. However, if the user touches the side rail off-center and thus exerts a unilateral lifting force, as indicated by the force F1, then an asymmetrically large force is exerted on the tension element at the point P1. As already described, the tension member 50 is guided to the other end of the side rail element 20 and is fixed there at the bearing point 56 fixed to the frame of the bed 1. These force conditions cause an upward force on the guide roller 55, which is designated P2 and this counteracts an inclination or tilting of the side rail element 20. In this sense, acting at the point P2 vertically upwards on the side rail element 20 acts balancing force for the unbalanced force F1 of the other end of the side rail element 20. Thus, the described cable guide allows a user and the side rails can also grip and move off-center without jamming occurs. The length of the arrows symbolizes the movement speed. Thus, the handrail 60 moves at twice the speed of the main body of the side rail member 20 relative to the bed frame.

In Fig. 5 Furthermore, the handrail 60 is shown, which is mounted within the main body of the side rail element 20. Guide profiles 65 of the handrail 60 are mounted within the guides 25 of the side rail element 20 (see FIG Fig. 4 ). At stops 66, the handrail 60 is connected via coupling rods 67 with the tension member 50 and the described displacements when lifting the main body of the side rail element 20 cause that upon lifting of said main body 20, the hand rail 60 is pushed out of this. In addition shows Fig. 5 a tension spring 70 which is connected at one of its ends to the tension element 50 and the other end is mounted on the side rail element 20. In the position shown, the side rail 10 is in the shut down non-use position and while the tension spring 70 is tensioned. In the Upward movement of the side rail element 20, the tension spring 70 is relaxed, the force absorbed when lowering the side rail off again and thus reduces the lifting force of the side rail element 20. In addition, their energy absorption during the lowering movement causes the side rail element 20 does not fall unrestrained.

The described coupling of the hand rail 60 at the breakpoint 66 via the coupling rod 67 with the tension element 50 is optional. If this coupling rod 67 is not present, the user can operate the handrail 60 independently of the position of the main body of the side rail element 20 relative to the frame 5 of the bed. This connection is in Fig. 6 shown. In order to keep the handrail 60 in the upper, ie extended position, detents are provided (not shown). About arranged in the handrail 60 actuator 68 can release the detents. For this purpose, Bowden cables (not shown), which are coupled to the actuators 68, are guided into the interior of the profiles 65 and connected to latches (not shown) which engage in pulling up the handrail 60 and are releasable by the Bowden cables.

Normally it is required that a side rail must end at least 220 mm above the mattress height in order to reliably prevent it from falling out. However, there are people who find it cramped when a side rail is so high. These people may also feel that a low side rail is safe enough for them. For this reason, the side rail described above offers two different height levels. The side rail ends in its position of use when not extended hand rail 60 at a height of 280 mm above the mattress pad. On the mattress topper is the mattress. With an average mattress height of 140 mm, the conditions required by the standard are therefore not fulfilled yet. For this reason, the handrail 60 is used, which ends in the extended state at a height 400 mm above the mattress pad. Since the hand rail 60 acts as a side rail, so the standard conditions can be met.

Fig. 7 FIG. 2 shows a schematic sketch of an alternative embodiment of the mechanism for preventing tilting with two rollers 59, each on the side rail element 20 are stored. An endless belt is placed around these rollers 59 to effect a synchronization for them. This belt acts as a tension element. In addition, further tension elements are fastened with their first ends to the side rail element 20 and with their second ends at stationary points, in order thus to counteract a tilting of the side rail element 20, as already described. In a further alternative (not shown), it is possible to use one or preferably two Bowden cables for the transmission of forces.

Fig. 8 shows a variant of a detail of Fig. 6 , In this case, a lower edge 69 of the handrail is in its non-extended state below the side rail element upper edge 29 of the side rail element 20. Preferably, the lower edge 69 and upper edge 29 extend over the entire length of the side rail 10 in its longitudinal direction. As already stated, the gap 14 (see Fig. 6 ) between the handrail 60 and the main body of the side rail element (20) should not be greater than 120 mm, otherwise there could be a risk of injury. Due to the above-described projection 69 of the handrail 60 down the gap 14 is reduced at a same extension height of the handrail 60, which leads to a corresponding greater maximum extraction height of the handrail 60.

In the embodiment of Fig. 9 are mounted on the side rail element 20, two rollers 55, which preferably each have a first toothing, which are in contact with the tension member 50, that is preferably designed as a toothed belt. In addition, the rollers 55 comprise a (second) toothing, which are in contact with racks 90, which in turn are arranged fixedly on the holding elements. Due to the shown crossed guide of the tension element, a parallel operation of the side rail element 20 is possible analogously to the above description.

In a further alternative embodiment, it is not necessary, as explained above, that the deflection rollers are mounted on the movable side rail element 20. Instead, the rollers may also be attached in whole or in part to the support 30 and / or a part of the frame of the bed and / or holding elements attached thereto be. Since, as described, the transmission of the displacement path from the bearing area 22, 22 'to the holding element 30, 30' arrives, it is equivalent if the rollers are arranged stationarily relative to the frame 5 of the bed.

The terms "above" and "below" and "in the vertical direction" and so on always refer to a side rail, which is attached as intended to the bed. An inclination of the bed frame is not considered here. In the description of the side lattice whose carrier and spars were called. However, these are not essential to the invention, since it only depends on the arrangement of the moving parts relative to the side rail element.
