Die Rundkannen haben keine durchgehend stabile Struktur und können daher durch hohe Kräfte beschädigt werden. Zum anderen unterscheiden sich die Rundkannen von Kunde zu Kunde, was die Anpassung von Aufnahmen schwierig macht. Im Gegensatz zu der bekannten Verlagerung der Rundkannen werden durch die Verlagerung des Ablagekopfes hohe Beschleunigungen des Ablagekopfes und damit geringe Wechselzeiten erreicht. Namentlich die Vollkannen können bei den bekannten Vorrichtungen aufgrund ihres hohen Gewichts nur mit hohen Kräften und nicht in kurzer Zeit bewegt werden. Der Bediener entnimmt die Vollkannen und ersetzt sie durch eine Leerkanne, so dass nur noch zwei Kannenpositionen vorgehalten werden müssen. Der Platzbedarf der erfindungsgemäßen Vorrichtung ist deutlich geringer als derjenige der bekannten Vorrichtungen.
