Claims (18)

  1. A dishwasher (10) with a washing compartment (100) for accommodating items to be washed and with a door for opening and closing the washing compartment (100), wherein the dishwasher (10) further comprises:
    - a start switch (440) for starting a washing program and a selector switch (450) for selecting a first operating mode or a second operating mode,
    - a sensor (420) for detecting a point in time tC, at which the door is closed,
    - a timer (430) which is designed so that it can measure a period of time ΔtC which has elapsed since the point in time tC when the door was closed,
    - a control device (460) which is designed so that, in the event that the first operating mode is selected using the selector switch (450) and that the starter switch (440) is not operated within a given time period Δt1 after the door was closed, the dishwasher's (10) soaking program is automatically started.
  2. The dishwasher according to claim 1, characterised in that it comprises at least one washer system (250, 360) for dispensing a fluid medium during the course of the soaking program.
  3. The dishwasher according to claim 2, characterised in that the dishwasher (10) comprises a tank (300), for accommodating the fluid medium, and a pumping device (320) by means of which the fluid medium may be drawn out of the tank and fed into the at least one washer system (360).
  4. The dishwasher according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that it comprises a storage tank (325) for a compound, in particular a fluid compound, and a dosing pump device (325) which is designed so that the fluid medium compound which can be fed into the at least one washer system (360) may, at least from time to time, be added.
  5. The dishwasher according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that it comprises at least one washer system (360) and at least one rinse system (250), wherein the at least one washer system (360) is designed so that a fluid medium may be dispensed from it during the course of a soaking program, wherein the fluid medium may be fed into the at least one washer system (360) from a tank (300) of the dishwasher (10), preferably at least, from time to time, with admixtures of a compound provided in a reservoir (325), wherein the at least one rinse system (250) is designed so that a fluid medium may be dispensed from it during a rinsing program, wherein fresh water may be fed into the at least one rinse system (250), preferably at least, from time to time, with admixtures of a rinsing aid provided in a reservoir (225).

The dishwasher according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the control device is designed so that the prescribed time period Δt1 lies in a range from 1 second to 15 minutes, preferably in a time period from 1 second to 5 minutes, particularly preferably in a period from 1 second to 2 minutes.
  7. The dishwasher according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the sensor (420) is designed so that it may, in addition, detect a point in time tO at which the dishwasher door is opened, wherein the timer (430) is designed so that it measures a time period ΔtO which has elapsed from a point in time to when the dishwasher door was opened, to a point in time tC when the door was closed again.
  8. The dishwasher according to claim 7, characterised in that the control device (460) is designed so that after the prescribed period of time Δt1 has elapsed following the closing of the door, the dishwasher's (10) soaking program will only be started if the last measured time period ΔtO between the point in time tO of the last door-opening and the point in time tC of the last door-closing is longer than a prescribed period of time Δt2.

The dishwasher according to claim 8, characterised in that the control device (460) is designed so that the prescribed time period Δt2 lies in a range from 0 seconds to 10 seconds, preferably in a time period from 0 seconds to 5 seconds, particularly preferably in a time period from 0 seconds to 3 seconds.
  10. The dishwasher according to one of claims 4 to 9, characterised in that the compound comprises:
    - at least one non-ionic tenside,
    - at least one anionic tenside,
    - at least one emulsifier,
    - at least one suspending agent, and
    - at least one enzyme,
    wherein the compound is free of phosphates, bleaching agents and alkaline substances.
  11. A method for operating a dishwasher (10) with a washing compartment (100) for accommodating items to be washed and with a door for opening and closing the washing compartment (100), wherein the method comprises the following steps:
    - detecting whether the dishwasher (10) is in a first operating mode of at least two operating modes which may be selected by the user,
    - detecting a point in time tC at which the dishwasher door is closed,
    - determining a period of time ΔtC which has elapsed from the point in time tC at which the door was closed,
    - comparing the period of time ΔtC with a prescribed period of time Δt1,
    - starting a soaking program of the dishwasher (10) if the user does not start a wash program within the prescribed period of time Δt1 after closing the door.
  12. The method according to claim 11, characterised in that a fluid medium is dispensed from the dishwasher's washer system (360) during the course of the soaking program.
  13. The method according to claim 12, characterised in that the fluid medium is, at least from time to time, mixed with a fluid compound before the fluid medium is dispensed by the at least one washer system (360).
  14. The method according to claim 13, characterised in that the compound comprises:
    - at least one non-ionic tenside,
    - at least one anionic tenside,
    - at least one emulsifier,
    - at least one suspending agent, and
    - at least one enzyme,
    wherein the compound is free of phosphates, bleaching agents and alkaline substances.
  15. The method according to one of claims 11 to 14, characterised in that the prescribed time period Δt1 lies in a range from 1 second to 15 minutes, preferably in a time period from 1 second to 5 minutes, particularly preferably in a time period from 1 second to 2 minutes.
  16. The method according to one of claims 11 to 15, characterised in that, in addition, a point in time to is detected at which the dishwasher (10) door is opened, wherein, in addition, a time period ΔtO is measured, which has elapsed from the point in time tO at which the door was opened, to the point in time tC at which the door was closed again.
  17. The method according to one of claims 11 to 15, characterised in that, after the prescribed time period Δt1 has elapsed, a soaking program is only started if the last measured time period ΔtO between the point in time tO of the last door-opening and the point in time tC of the last door-closing is longer than a prescribed time period Δt2.
