Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a device for opening bags and mixing bag contents.
  • the individual chambers can preferably be filled with different fluids, whereby one or more chambers can also contain a solid.
  • Plastic bags in particular are used as packaging material, whereby the individual compartments within the bag can be opened and the separately packaged ingredients can be combined into a ready-to-use product.
  • the plastic bags can be used in the food, beverage or pharmaceutical sectors.
  • To open the chambers they can, for example, be connected to one another using so-called crushing cones. By breaking open the cones, fluid paths are created between the chambers, which allow mixing of the individual fluids and/or reconstitution of one or more solids.
  • crushing cones has, among other things, the disadvantage that when the cones are broken, particles can form which, for example in the case of medical solutions, can lead to contamination of the product.
  • Bags that have peel or seal seams have therefore become established for opening and mixing between the individual chambers.
  • the peel or sealed seams between the compartments have a lower sealing strength than the outer seams of the bags.
  • the sealing strength of the peel seams between the chambers must be chosen so that the seams cannot unintentionally tear open during transport and handling of the bags, although it must still be possible to open the peel seams by hand with a reasonable amount of force.
  • a portion of the bag is usually separated from its edge area, for example Rolled up on the side edge or a corner of the film, thereby compressing the chamber contents in such a way that the pressure inside the bag increases on the peel seams and these break open when the sealing pressure is exceeded.
  • Opening and mixing a peel-seam multi-chamber plastic bag generally does not present any difficulty for the normal, adult, healthy user.
  • opening such bags may be tedious for certain people, such as the elderly or infirm, as it may be difficult for them It may be difficult to apply the appropriate force and/or you may have problems handling the opening process due to motor limitations.
  • a connector protector extends over the first chamber of the bag.
  • the peel seam can be broken by applying pressure to the extended area of the connector protection.
  • the outer packaging has a tear strip, the protruding end of which is inserted into the slot of the key in order to open the outer packaging by twisting the tear strip around the key.
  • the WO 2013/156808 describes a container for use in the cosmetic sector, wherein the individual compartments are separated by a breakable seal and/or a clamp and are united by applying external pressure to the container and/or by releasing a clamp can. To remove the mixed product, the clamp can be attached to the end of the container and the contents of the packaging can be transported by pushing the clamp forward towards the removal opening.
  • the US 4994056 discloses a bag for storing and mixing a two-component system for intravenous infusion, wherein the two compartments are separated from each other via a thermal seal and an additional external clamp is provided to avoid accidental opening of the thermal seal. To unite the two compartments, the clamp is removed and the separable seam is opened by pulling the tabs on the sides of the film in opposite directions.
  • the US 1991267 describes a two-component packaging unit for intravenous infusion, with the two compartments being separated from each other by a clamp.
  • the clamp is made up of three parts, a sealing element, a central element and a closure element as well as at least one pin around which the individual parts of the clamp are rotatably arranged.
  • the US5131567 describes a tube compression element, which consists of two tube elements lying one above the other, which rotate in opposite directions to one another during operation and thus move the tube in its longitudinal direction between the two tube elements in order to compress the tube contents.
  • the invention is based on the object of providing a device and a method which provides a simple and cost-effective aid for opening peel seams in multi-chamber bag systems and mixing the individual bag contents.
  • a device which is designed as a multi-chamber bag opening aid, comprising a rod-shaped middle part, which consists of a rod, with two distal grip elements, opening peel seams in a multi-chamber bag system Establishing a fluid connection between the separate chambers and for simultaneous mixing of the individual components is facilitated.
  • the task is further solved by a method according to claim 10.
  • Multi-chamber bag systems are also referred to below as bags or bag systems, comprising two or more compartments, the individual compartments or chambers being separated from one another by peel seams and the bag having at least one removal device and preferably additionally at least has a feeding device.
  • the bag systems used in connection with the article according to the invention typically consist of a thermoplastic material.
  • peel seams of the multi-chamber bag systems are broken open in a specified order. This is the case when the peel seams have increasing sealing strength depending on the order in which they are opened.
  • a multi-chamber bag opening aid comprising a rod-shaped middle part which consists of a rod and two distal handle elements.
  • a portion of a bag in particular an edge area, such as a film side or film corner, can be rolled up over the middle part of the multi-chamber bag opening aid and the contents in the chambers can be compressed in such a way that the peel seams between the individual chambers break open.
  • the handle elements are used for stabilization and power transmission as well as for easy rolling up of the bag section.
  • the multi-chamber opening aid makes it easier and thus improves handling when opening multi-chamber bag systems and enables them to maintain their independence when carrying out their therapeutic measures.
  • a means for fixing a portion of a multi-chamber bag is provided in the middle part.
  • the means for fixing is designed in the form of an incision, which is able to accommodate, for example, a film corner of a multi-chamber bag.
  • the bag section can be fixed in the incision in the middle part by a movable clamping element.
  • a milling in the form of a wedge-shaped recess is provided in the middle part.
  • the wedge-shaped recess is partially projected over by a clamping element, so that a portion of the bag, in particular a film corner, can be held between a wedge-shaped recess created by the milling and the clamping element.
  • a portion of the multi-chamber bag system can be easily rolled up around the middle part of the multi-chamber bag opening aid until the sealing pressure of the peel seams is overcome, the peel seams break open and the individual components can be mixed. This also makes handling the multi-chamber bag opening aid easier and reliably prevents the bag film from slipping.
  • a multi-chamber bag opening aid (1) and a multi-chamber bag system (2) are shown.
  • the multi-chamber bag opening aid (1) comprising a rod-shaped middle part (3), which consists of a rod, with two distal handle elements (4), is used to simplify the opening of peel seams (5) in a multi-chamber bag system (2) and to mix the individual bag contents.
  • the rod-shaped middle part (3) can be designed in the form of a solid or hollow tube or even as a telescopic rod.

  • the grip elements (4) can be provided with a roughened or partially raised surface, so that secure gripping is possible.
  • the handle elements (4) can also be made of a rubberized material or covered, for a pleasant grip and to prevent the multi-chamber bag opening aid (1) from rolling away on a smooth surface.
  • the handle elements (4) can also be designed as a handwheel (18).
  • the handwheel (18) has a peripheral edge, which allows engagement in the handwheel (18) from the outside and also generates sufficiently high pressure to open the peel seam (5) with little effort can.
  • the handle elements (4) can be provided with notches (19) in the form of a handle disk (16) or a handwheel (18).
  • the notches (19), as in Fig. 6 shown, can be arranged at an angle of 45, 120, 180, or preferably 90 ° around the handle element (4), which also achieves good grip and prevents unintentional rolling away.
  • the various embodiments of the handle elements (4) can thus be easily grasped or grasped by people with limited motor skills, which enable simple and comfortable handling. They also allow a comfortable grip when rolling up an edge area of the multi-chamber bag system (2), preferably a corner of film around the middle part (3) of the multi-chamber bag opening aid (1).
