- the hard bodies are preferably hammer-head-shaped and fastened, in particular glued, in radial grooves.
- the disadvantage of this end face armor is the risk of breakage of the hard bodies.
- the attachment by gluing or soldering is not easily detachable and therefore repairing the roller is not possible, or only possible with great difficulty.
- the large manufacturing tolerances in components made of hard metal lead to large adhesive gaps or to considerable problems during assembly if the hard bodies are oversized.
- the large glue gaps are problematic, since no secure gluing is possible and the hard bodies can fall out of the roll surface during operation.
- the object of the present invention is to propose a side wear protection for the roll of a roller press, which has a long service life and enables simple and quick interchangeability.
- the roll according to the invention for a roll press with a side wear protection consists of several side wear protection elements which enclose the roll edge.

- the following is a definition of the sides of the base body or the side wear protection element.
- the side of the base body from which the threaded bolt protrudes and which is directed towards the center of the roller i.e. the contact surface with the roller
- the side opposite this side, which forms the outer surface of the roller is referred to as the cover side.
- the side of the base body that forms the end face of the roll in the installed state is the end face and the side opposite the end face, which adjoins the grid armor of the roll, is the rear side.

- the side of the base body (the rear side) facing the grid armor of the roller is outwardly, that is to say is convexly curved, particularly preferably semicircular.
- the grid armor is designed to be correspondingly concave. In this way, the mechanical stability of the side wear protection can advantageously be increased.
- hard bodies are attached to the top side and the front side of the base body.
- the hard bodies are preferably made of hard metal or a high-strength iron alloy (IFW), for example FeCrMoVC.
- IFW high-strength iron alloy
- an L-shaped hard body is provided which covers the top and front sides of the base body.
- a hard body has to be attached to the base body and the roll edge is fully protected.
- the L-shaped hard body has a non-rotationally symmetrical basic shape, for example triangular, and the grid armor of the roller has contact surfaces for the hard body in this area.
- a rotation lock for the base body and thus also the side wear protection element is advantageously ensured in a simple manner.
- the base body is enclosed by the grid armor of the roller in such a way that the base body is axially fixed and can thus advantageously absorb transverse forces, in particular in the axial direction away from the roller.
- the basic body can be designed round for this purpose and the receptacle in the grid armor surrounds the round basic body by more than 180 °.
- the hard bodies are preferably soldered on. Alternatively, there is also the possibility of gluing them on or introducing them by casting. Press, screw and other mechanical connections are also possible. In addition, thermal or other coatings of the wear base are also conceivable.

- the side wear protection can also be removed without any problems by loosening the screw connection; the previously necessary, expensive heating of the adhesive connection can be dispensed with.
- the holding function of the side wear protection elements is advantageously ensured by the base body made of elastic material, which considerably reduces the risk of breakage.
- Another positive effect is that the lower use of hard metal in the edge area of the roll means that there is greater wear and tear in the bathtub towards the middle of the roll due to wear Wear that leads to a decreasing radius is reduced. This advantageously reduces the grinding volume required to remove the bathtub-shaped wear.
- Dowel pins are preferably arranged between the side wear element and the roll edge.

- the gap dimensions of the side wear protection can advantageously be significantly reduced through the elastic suspension by means of threaded bolts.
- Elastic, tough types of steel in particular heat-treatable, fine-grained structural steels or spring steels, are particularly preferred.
- other high strength tough metals e.g. Duralumin can be used.
- the support of the side wear protection element on the roll edge is preferably a linear support in the axial direction of the roll.
- a statically determined support is achieved through the line recording and tilting of the side wear protection elements can advantageously be prevented.
- the roller according to the invention for a roller press has at least one side wear protection element described above.
- the threaded bolt of the side wear protection element is guided through the roller edge and screwed.
- the screw connection of the threaded bolt particularly preferably has a prestressing force in the radial direction.
- an intermediate element is preferably arranged between the side wear protection element and the roller edge.
- the threaded bolt or a dowel pin is preferably passed through the intermediate element or this is otherwise fixed in the axial or tangential direction, so that slipping is prevented.
- the height (i.e. the radius of the roller) of the side wear protection elements can be adjusted.
- a wear adjustment can advantageously take place through the height adjustment and the regrinding of the side wear protection elements necessary according to the prior art for wear adjustment can be dispensed with.
- the replacement of an individual side wear protection element is particularly advantageously made considerably easier, since its height can be adjusted via the intermediate elements and it is not necessary to grind the hard metal body for height adjustment. Description
The invention relates to the side wear protection for rollers of a roller press and a roller of a roller press having this side wear protection.
Roller presses, also called material bed roller mills, have two rollers of the same diameter, between which the material to be shredded is introduced and forms a material bed there. The opposite rotation of the rollers and the high pressure on the material between the rollers result in compaction.
Another disadvantage is that a special adhesive is required for gluing large glue gaps. In addition to the problems during assembly and the associated costs, oversized hard bodies also lead to the risk of cracks occurring in the hard metal body during assembly, which lead to subsequent failure. Last but not least, the use of hard metal causes very high costs.
The object of the present invention is to propose a side wear protection for the roll of a roller press, which has a long service life and enables simple and quick interchangeability.
According to the invention, this object is achieved by a roller for a roller press having a side wear protection according to
The roll according to the invention for a roll press with a side wear protection consists of several side wear protection elements which enclose the roll edge. According to the invention, the side wear protection elements have a base body made of an elastic tough material. Furthermore, the base body has a threaded bolt on the side of the base body facing the roller axis.
To simplify the description, the following is a definition of the sides of the base body or the side wear protection element. When installed, the side of the base body from which the threaded bolt protrudes and which is directed towards the center of the roller (i.e. the contact surface with the roller) is the base side. The side opposite this side, which forms the outer surface of the roller, is referred to as the cover side. The side of the base body that forms the end face of the roll in the installed state is the end face and the side opposite the end face, which adjoins the grid armor of the roll, is the rear side. The remaining sides that adjoin the adjacent side wear protection elements are referred to as ring sides.
In one embodiment, the base body is cuboid. Alternatively, ring sides (the sides of the base body that adjoin other side wear protection elements) or the grid armor of the roller can be designed in such a way that a form fit is formed with the adjacent side wear protection elements or the grid armor.
In an alternative embodiment, the base body is cylindrical with a round base. This base area is preferably flattened on one side as a support for fastening the hard bodies.
In a further embodiment, the side of the base body (the rear side) facing the grid armor of the roller is outwardly, that is to say is convexly curved, particularly preferably semicircular. The grid armor is designed to be correspondingly concave. In this way, the mechanical stability of the side wear protection can advantageously be increased.
In a further embodiment, hard bodies are attached to the top side and the front side of the base body. The hard bodies are preferably made of hard metal or a high-strength iron alloy (IFW), for example FeCrMoVC.
In an alternative embodiment, an L-shaped hard body is provided which covers the top and front sides of the base body. Advantageously, only a hard body has to be attached to the base body and the roll edge is fully protected.
In a further embodiment, the L-shaped hard body has a non-rotationally symmetrical basic shape, for example triangular, and the grid armor of the roller has contact surfaces for the hard body in this area. A rotation lock for the base body and thus also the side wear protection element is advantageously ensured in a simple manner.
In a further embodiment, the base body is enclosed by the grid armor of the roller in such a way that the base body is axially fixed and can thus advantageously absorb transverse forces, in particular in the axial direction away from the roller. For example, the basic body can be designed round for this purpose and the receptacle in the grid armor surrounds the round basic body by more than 180 °.
The hard bodies are preferably soldered on. Alternatively, there is also the possibility of gluing them on or introducing them by casting. Press, screw and other mechanical connections are also possible. In addition, thermal or other coatings of the wear base are also conceivable.
The volume of the hard metal required can advantageously be reduced considerably by means of the invention, which is equivalent to a significant saving in costs. Problems of fitting when installing the hard bodies, as in the prior art, are not to be feared. The side wear protection can also be removed without any problems by loosening the screw connection; the previously necessary, expensive heating of the adhesive connection can be dispensed with. The holding function of the side wear protection elements is advantageously ensured by the base body made of elastic material, which considerably reduces the risk of breakage.
Another positive effect is that the lower use of hard metal in the edge area of the roll means that there is greater wear and tear in the bathtub towards the middle of the roll due to wear Wear that leads to a decreasing radius is reduced. This advantageously reduces the grinding volume required to remove the bathtub-shaped wear.
Dowel pins are preferably arranged between the side wear element and the roll edge. The dowel pins absorb axial or tangential forces. The side of the side wear protection element directed towards the roller axis has receptacles for the dowel pins or the dowel pins themselves. Particularly preferably, two dowel pins are arranged in the area of the ring sides for each side wear protection element. Axial and also tangential forces acting on the side wear protection can advantageously be absorbed by the dowel pins. The spring possibilities caused by the design advantageously compensate for tolerances between the contact surfaces.
In an alternative embodiment, the threaded bolt is stepped, that is, close to the base body, the threaded bolt has a force-absorbing area with a significantly larger diameter. The thickened area of the threaded bolt that adjoins the base body is also known as the collar. When installed, the collar is surrounded by a receiving area of the roller edge, which advantageously absorbs the axial and tangential forces. The collar of the threaded bolt and the receiving area of the collar preferably form a fit in the roll edge. The gap dimensions of the side wear protection can advantageously be significantly reduced through the elastic suspension by means of threaded bolts.
Elastic, tough types of steel, in particular heat-treatable, fine-grained structural steels or spring steels, are particularly preferred. Alternatively, other high strength tough metals, e.g. Duralumin can be used.
Furthermore, the support of the side wear protection element on the roll edge is preferably a linear support in the axial direction of the roll. A statically determined support is achieved through the line recording and tilting of the side wear protection elements can advantageously be prevented.
The seating of a body on two surfaces at different angles to one another is very difficult and expensive to manufacture in terms of manufacturing technology for the case that the body is also to sit on these surfaces over the entire surface. Round geometries, which then form a line contact with the contact surfaces angled in this way, are advantageous to produce there much easier.
The roller according to the invention for a roller press has at least one side wear protection element described above.
The threaded bolt of the side wear protection element is guided through the roller edge and screwed. The screw connection of the threaded bolt particularly preferably has a prestressing force in the radial direction.
Furthermore, an intermediate element is preferably arranged between the side wear protection element and the roller edge. The threaded bolt or a dowel pin is preferably passed through the intermediate element or this is otherwise fixed in the axial or tangential direction, so that slipping is prevented. By selecting the thickness of the intermediate elements, the height (i.e. the radius of the roller) of the side wear protection elements can be adjusted. A wear adjustment can advantageously take place through the height adjustment and the regrinding of the side wear protection elements necessary according to the prior art for wear adjustment can be dispensed with. The replacement of an individual side wear protection element is particularly advantageously made considerably easier, since its height can be adjusted via the intermediate elements and it is not necessary to grind the hard metal body for height adjustment. This advantage also comes to light when using new side wear elements, the height of which can be adjusted without grinding over the intermediate elements during installation.

In the installed state, the side of the

In this way, a toothing is formed between the side wear
