Definitions
- the invention relates to a fuel injection valve for internal combustion engines according to the preamble of claim 1. Furthermore, the invention relates to the use of a fuel injection valve according to the invention.
- a fuel injection valve according to the preamble of claim 1 is known from the EP 1 599 670 B1 known to the applicant.
- the known fuel injection valve has a total of three sections in a blind hole in its valve body, which directly adjoin one another in the direction of a longitudinal axis of the blind hole.
- a first section serves to form a seat section for a sealing surface of a nozzle needle when it is in its lowered closed position.
- a second, conical section serves as a transition section to a likewise conical third section, in the area of which at least one injection opening is formed.
- the injection opening is designed as a cylindrical injection opening, the mouth region of which is relatively sharp-edged on the side facing the blind hole.
- Such a design is to be regarded as disadvantageous from the point of view of fluid mechanics in that it can result in relatively high hydraulic losses in the mouth area of the injection opening due to turbulence.
- Such different flow speeds over the cross section of the injection opening can be considered, for example, by means of a fuel injection valve according to FIG EP 1 382 840 A1 of the applicant.
- This has an injection member (nozzle needle) that is non-round or polygonal in cross section in the area of injection openings.
- an injection member with a round cross section is disclosed with a blind hole which is non-circular or non-uniform in cross section.
- the invention is based on the object of developing a fuel injection valve for internal combustion engines in accordance with the preamble of claim 1 in such a way that at least an optimization of the flow properties for the fuel is achieved in the sense of minimizing hydraulic losses.
- a fuel injection valve for internal combustion engines with the characterizing features of claim 1 solved in that the at least one injection opening on the side facing the first section of the blind hole has a convex first inflow region, and in that the first inflow region is viewed in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the blind hole up to the first section in which the seat section for forming the sealing seat is formed with the nozzle needle.
- the first inflow region forms an egg-shaped recess in the valve body and has a longitudinal axis that runs parallel to the longitudinal axis of the blind hole.
- Such a configuration of the first inflow region causes the fuel to flow relatively smoothly or uniformly in the region of the first section after passing the seat section and with a small deflection angle in the direction of the at least one injection opening.
- relatively “gentle” deflections of the fuel lead to relatively low hydraulic losses and thus to an optimization of the flow guidance of the fuel when the fuel is injected into the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine.
- a configuration due to the egg-shaped shape causes, in particular between the at least one injection opening and the area of the seat section, a first inflow area which is maximized in length, so that the curvature of the convex first inflow area can be selected to be relatively small in this area.
- the area below the at least one injection opening is at least substantially without the first inflow area, so that the dead volume in the blind hole in the area below the nozzle needle is minimized.
- the first section on the side facing the second section has a transition section, that the seat section is arranged on the side of the transition section facing away from the second section, and that the inflow region in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the blind hole extends into the transition section and before the Seating section ends.
- the seat section there are two sections below the seat section, each with a different shape or a different cross section, which in themselves result in the fuel being guided with less flow losses, since the deflection of the fuel takes place more uniformly compared to a single section can or is reduced.
- transition section and the seat section are each conical and that the cone angle of the nozzle seat section is greater than that of the transition section.
- the second section has a cylindrical basic shape.
- An optimization of the fuel injection valve with regard to the tendency towards the smallest possible deposits in the area of the injection openings is achieved if several injection openings are provided, areas in which no first inflow areas are formed are formed between the injection openings in the circumferential direction of the blind hole. Due to the fact that in the areas in which no first inflow areas are formed, the fuel is deflected more strongly in the direction of the injection opening, additional turbulence is generated in these areas, which reduces the tendency towards deposits in the mouth area of the blind hole.
- the use of the fuel injection valve according to the invention is particularly advantageous in self-igniting internal combustion engines in which the system pressure is more than 2000 bar.
- a fuel injection valve 10 in the Fig. 1 The end region of a fuel injection valve 10 according to the invention facing a combustion chamber (not shown) of an internal combustion engine is shown.
- the fuel injection valve 10 is preferably part of a so-called common rail system for self-igniting internal combustion engines, the system pressure in particular being more than 2000 bar.
- the fuel injection valve 10 has a valve body 11, in which a blind bore 12 with a longitudinal axis 13 is formed.
- the blind hole 12 has a first section 15, in the area of which a seat section 16 is formed which, in a lowered position, forms a sealing seat with a nozzle needle 20 serving as an injection element together with a sealing surface 21 of the nozzle needle 20.
- the nozzle needle 20 is only shown in sections for reasons of better clarity.
- the first section 15 of the blind bore 12 is conical in the exemplary embodiment shown, but can in principle be equipped with a convex surface or have a radius.
- a second section 22 adjoins the first section 15 in the direction of the base 26 of the blind hole 12.
- a plurality of injection openings 25 are preferably formed in the valve body 11 in order to enable the fuel to be injected into the combustion chamber (not shown) of the internal combustion engine.
- the injection openings 25 are located with respect to the longitudinal axis 13 within the blind hole 12 on a pitch circle diameter around the longitudinal axis 13 and in the exemplary embodiment shown do not run at right angles to the longitudinal axis 13, but rather at an angle thereto.
- the second section 22, which in the exemplary embodiment shown has a cylindrical basic shape, extends in the axial direction of the longitudinal axis 13, at least over the entire area of the injection openings 25.
- the curved section 26 of the blind hole 12 is connected to the second section 22 of the blind hole 12 at.
- a radially circumferential transition 28 is arranged between the two sections 15, 22 with respect to the longitudinal axis 13, which transition can either be in the form of an edge or in the form of a radius.
- the mouth region 30 of the injection openings 25, which have, for example, a constant cross section or constant diameter, is formed on the side facing the blind hole 12 with an inflow region 31.
- the inflow region 31 is formed with a radius r at least in the direction of the first section 15, but preferably radially circumferentially with respect to the injection opening 25.
- the injection openings 25 are provided with a further, convex inflow region 32 which completely surrounds the inflow region 31.
- the further inflow region 32 is designed as an egg-shaped recess 33 within the wall of the blind hole 12.
- the further inflow region 32 has a longitudinal axis 34 which extends at least substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis 13 of the blind hole 12. It is essential to the invention that the further inflow region 32, which extends in the direction of the bottom 26 of the blind bore 12 only slightly beyond the region of the injection opening 25, extends beyond the transition 28 on the side facing the first section 15. In the exemplary embodiment shown, the further inflow regions 32 only extend somewhat over the transition 28 into the area of the first section 15. Furthermore, viewed in the circumferential direction, regions 29 without inflow regions 32 are formed in the blind hole 12 between the further inflow regions 32, such that the wall of the blind hole 12 is formed exclusively by the shape of the second section 22.
- the further inflow region 32 has a convex wall 35, it being possible for the convex shape of the wall 35 to be formed, for example, by a constant radius.
- the curvature of the further inflow region 32 is less than the curvature or the radius r of the inflow region 31.
- the first section 15a has a transition section 36 on the side facing the second section 22.
- the transition section 36 is likewise conical by way of example, the cone angle of the transition section 36 being smaller than the cone angle of the first section 15a in the region of the seat section 16a.
- the transition 28 is formed between the transition section 36 and the second section 22 and a second transition 37 is formed between the transition section 36 and the seat section 16a.
- the further inflow regions 32 extend beyond the transition 28 into the region of the transition section 36, but without reaching into the region of the second transition 37.
- the fuel injection valve 10, 10a described so far can be modified or modified in a variety of ways without deviating from the inventive concept.
- the shape of the inflow region 32 is not intended to be limited to a convex shape, but can also be designed, for example, in the form of a funnel or cone.

Description
-
