Description
- La présente invention concerne un dispositif de protection d'un joint d'étanchéité réalisé entre deux surfaces formant un angle entre elles et constitué d'un matériau adhésif, appliqué préalablement dans l'angle formé par les deux surfaces.
- Il s'agit plus particulièrement, mais non exclusivement, de joints en silicone jouant un rôle d'étanchéité et d'adhésif.
- Ils sont couramment utilisés entre une paroi d'une pièce d'eau et un appareil sanitaire tel que baignoire, douche, lavabo.
- Il pourra également s'agir de joints d'entourage, utilisés lors de la rénovation de porte ou de fenêtre, et de tous autres types d'application mettant en œuvre un joint d'étanchéité.
- Un inconvénient majeur et bien connu tient au fait que ces joints se détériorent rapidement par le passage de l'eau ou par les moisissures provoquées par l'air ambiant humide de ces pièces. Les joints sont alors inefficaces et d'un aspect inesthétique.
- Dans un autre domaine, il a été proposé dans le document
US 4 315 390 des profilés d'habillage d'angle permettant de conférer une forme arrondie à un angle saillant ou rentrant entre deux parois d'un bâtiment. La fixation est réalisée par un produit à prise disposé sur l'angle dans lequel une nervure dont la section est en forme de flèche vient s'insérer. Le profilé est relativement rigide en étant par exemple en aluminium et ne permet pas de réaliser une étanchéité à l'eau ruisselante. - La présente invention telle que définie par la revendication 1 a pour but de remédier à ces inconvénients et concerne à cet effet un dispositif de protection d'un joint d'étanchéité réalisé entre deux surfaces formant un angle entre elles et constitué d'un matériau adhésif, appliqué préalablement dans l'angle formé par les deux surfaces, caractérisé en ce qu'il est constitué par un couvre-joint agissant en combinaison avec le joint, lequel couvre-joint est issu d'une bande profilée longitudinale semi flexible de section pleine et globalement triangulaire, dont l'un des côtés, supérieur, présente une face apparente lisse, de largeur telle à relier les deux surfaces d'angle après recouvrement du joint non durci, ses deux autres côtés latéraux formant un angle au sommet apte à pénétrer dans ledit joint non durci et comportant des zones d'ancrage constituées par des rainures longitudinales pour ancrage permanent dans celui-ci, après durcissement, le sommet formé par les deux côtés latéraux de la bande profilée triangulaire constituant le couvre-joint étant tronqué longitudinalement pour former un chanfrein, de manière à constituer une réservation au matériau d'étanchéité formant le joint.
- La présente invention concerne également les caractéristiques qui ressortiront au cours de la description qui va suivre, et qui devront être considérées isolément ou selon toutes leurs combinaisons techniques possibles.
- Cette description donnée à titre d'exemple non limitatif, fera mieux comprendre comment l'invention peut être réalisée en référence aux dessins annexés sur lesquels :

- La
figure 1 représente, en perspective éclatée, un dispositif de protection d'un joint selon l'invention, avant pose d'un couvre-joint à disposer en combinaison avec le joint non durci, préalablement appliqué entre deux surfaces d'angles, par exemple un mur en faïence et un appareil sanitaire. - La
figure 2 représente, en perspective, le dispositif de protection selon lafigure 1 , après pose du couvre-joint. - La
figure 3 représente la section de la bande profilée constituant le couvre-joint selon lesfigures 1 et 2 , selon un exemple de réalisation. - L'invention concerne un dispositif de protection d'un joint d'étanchéité 1 réalisé entre deux surfaces 2,3 formant un angle « α » entre elles et constitué d'un matériau adhésif, appliqué préalablement dans l'angle « α » formé par les deux surfaces.
- Ce dispositif est constitué par un couvre-joint 4 agissant en combinaison avec le joint 1, lequel couvre-joint 4 est issu d'une bande profilée longitudinale semi flexible de section « S » globalement triangulaire, dont l'un des côtés, supérieur 4a, présente une face apparente lisse, de largeur « l » telle à relier les deux surfaces d'angle 2 et 3 après recouvrement du joint 1 non durci, ses deux autres côtés latéraux 4b,4c formant un angle au sommet « α1 » apte à pénétrer dans ledit joint 1 non durci et comportant des zones 5,6 en creux pour ancrage permanent dans celui-ci 1, après durcissement.
- Selon le présent exemple de réalisation, les zones d'ancrage 5,6 de la bande profilée constituant le couvre-joint 4 sont constituées par des rainures longitudinales dans lesquelles pénètre le joint 1 non durci, pour ancrage après durcissement.
- Plus précisément, les rainures longitudinales d'ancrage 5,6 ont des sections en forme de queue d'aronde et sont disposées symétriquement, de part et d'autre des côtés latéraux 4b,4c de la bande profilée triangulaire constituant le couvre-joint 4.
- Bien entendu, toute autre forme de section de ces rainures 5,6 est possible, comme par exemple en forme d'Oméga.
- Selon une autre caractéristique, le sommet « O » formé par les deux côtés latéraux 4b,4c de la bande profilée triangulaire constituant le couvre-joint 4 est tronqué longitudinalement pour former un chanfrein 4d, de manière à constituer une réservation au matériau d'étanchéité formant le joint 1.
- Un tel chanfrein 4d permet non seulement de centrer le joint 1 non encore durci, mais réserve un espace permettant de laisser subsister un certain volume « V » de matière devant jouer son rôle d'étanchéité. Ce chanfrein 4d permet également de lisser les imperfections de l'angle « α » formé par les surfaces 2,3.
- Comme le montre bien la
figure 2 , il est à noter que le joint 1, non encore durci au moment de la pose du couvre-joint 4, remplit non seulement le volume « V » laissé libre par le chanfrein 4d, mais est repoussé également vers les rainures 5,6 qu'il remplit, sous la pression exercée manuellement par un opérateur sur le couvre-joint 4 au moment de sa pose, fixant ce dernier au cours d'une même opération. - Le volume du joint 1 préalablement disposé dans l'angle « α » formé par les surfaces 2,3 correspond sensiblement à celui du volume « V » délimité par le chanfrein 4d, auquel s'ajoutent les volumes « V1 » et « V2 » délimités par les rainures 5,6.
- Le joint 1 se trouve ainsi réparti pour assurer l'étanchéité, tout en assurant la fixation du couvre-joint 4. Le matériau d'étanchéité du joint 1 s'étend en outre le long des deux côtés latéraux 4b, 4c. Il couvre donc une largeur conséquente de l'angle afin de former une bonne étanchéité sur les surfaces 2, 3. De plus, le matériau adhère aux côtés latéraux 4b, 4c, ce qui assure aussi un maintien du profilé par collage.
- Selon une autre caractéristique de l'invention, les extrémités latérales de la face apparente supérieure 4a de la bande profilée constituant le couvre-joint 4 sont amincies pour former des lèvres souples 7,8. Celles-ci contribuent à réaliser l'étanchéité de l'ensemble du dispositif.
- Préférentiellement, la face apparente supérieure 4a de la bande profilée constituant le couvre-joint 4 est concave. Ainsi, elle permet à l'eau de s'écouler de la surface verticale 2 sur la surface horizontale 3, sans zone de rétention d'eau.
- Selon un avantage procuré par l'invention, le matériau de la bande profilée constituant le couvre-joint 4 est transparent ou de couleur. Un effet décoratif est ainsi obtenu, permettant d'accorder le couvre-joint 4 aux couleurs de la faïence 9 recouvrant la surface 2, tranchant ainsi avec la couleur blanche de la surface 3, un appareil sanitaire par exemple.
- Avantageusement, le couvre-joint 4 est obtenu à partir d'un profilé en matière plastique ou élastomère réalisé par extrusion ou injection.
Claims (7)
- Dispositif de protection d'un joint d'étanchéité (1) réalisé entre deux surfaces (2,3) formant un angle (α) entre elles et constitué d'un matériau adhésif, appliqué préalablement dans l'angle (α) formé par les deux surfaces, le dispositif de protection étant constitué par un couvre-joint (4) agissant en combinaison avec le joint (1), lequel couvre-joint (4) est issu d'une bande profilée longitudinale semi flexible de section (S) globalement triangulaire, dont l'un des côtés, supérieur (4a), présente une face apparente lisse, de largeur (l) telle à relier les deux surfaces d'angle (2 et 3) après recouvrement du joint (1) non durci, ses deux autres côtés latéraux (4b,4c) formant un angle au sommet (α1) apte à pénétrer dans ledit joint (1) non durci et comportant des zones d'ancrage constituées par des rainures longitudinales (5,6) pour ancrage permanent dans celui-ci (1), après durcissement, le sommet (O) formé par les deux côtés latéraux (4b,4c) de la bande profilée triangulaire constituant le couvre-joint (4) étant tronqué longitudinalement pour former un chanfrein (4d), de manière à constituer une réservation au matériau d'étanchéité formant le joint (1), caractérisé en ce que la surface de la section (S) est pleine.
- Dispositif selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que les rainures longitudinales d'ancrage (5,6) ont des sections en forme de queue d'aronde et sont disposées symétriquement, de part et d'autre des côtés latéraux (4b,4c) de la bande profilée triangulaire constituant le couvre-joint (4).
- Dispositif selon l'une des revendications 1 à 2, caractérisé en ce que les extrémités latérales de la face apparente supérieure (4a) de la bande profilée constituant le couvre-joint (4) sont amincies pour former des lèvres souples (7,8).
- Dispositif selon l'une des revendications 1 à 3, caractérisé en ce que la face apparente supérieure (4a) de la bande profilée constituant le couvre-joint (4) est concave.
- Dispositif selon l'une des revendications 1 à 4, caractérisé en ce que le matériau de la bande profilée constituant le couvre-joint (4) est transparente ou de couleur.
- Dispositif selon l'une des revendications 1 à 5, caractérisé en ce que le couvre-joint (4) est obtenu à partir d'un profilé en matière plastique réalisé par extrusion.
- Dispositif selon l'une des revendications 1 à 5, caractérisé en ce que le couvre-joint (4) est obtenu à partir d'un profilé en matière plastique réalisé par injection.
