Die Erfindung betrifft einen Trockner für flächigen Materialien, insbesondere Platten, Filme oder Folien. Unterseite des bahnförmigen Materials 108 gefördert, um dieses in der Schwebe zwischen den Metallplatten 112 zu halten. Aus den Strömungsräumen 115, 117, 119, 121, 123 und 125 wird hingegen Gas abgesaugt. Die porösen, gasdurchlässigen Metallplatten 126, mit denen die Strömungsräume 115, 117, 119, 121, 123 und 125 jeweils verschlossen sind sind dabei in einem zweiten Abstand von der Oberseite bzw. der Unterseite des bahnförmigen Materials 108 angeordnet, wobei der zweite Abstand größer ist als der erste Abstand, in dem die porösen, gasdurchlässigen Metallplatten 112 vom bahnförmigen Material 108 angeordnet sind. Durch eine solche Maßnahme lässt sich das bahnförmige Material 108 zuverlässig in der Schwebe halten und dadurch berührungslos trocknen. Unterhalb des bahnförmigen Materials 132 sind vier identisch zu den Strömungsräumen 138 ausgebildete Strömungsräume 140 angeordnet. Aus den Strömungsräumen 138 und 140 wird Gas abgesaugt, so dass zwischen den porösen, gasdurchlässigen Metallplatten der Strömungsräume 138 und 140 sowie der Oberseite bzw. der Unterseite des bahnförmigen Materials 132 ein Unterdruck entsteht. Bei dem Trockner 130 sind die Strömungsräume 134 und 136 dabei exakt gegenüberliegend angeordnet und die Fläche der porösen gasdurchlässigen Metallplatten der Strömungsräume 134 und 136 ist im Wesentlichen doppelt so groß wie die Fläche der porösen, gasdurchlässigen Metallplatten der Strömungsräume 138 und 140. Die porösen, gasdurchlässigen Metallplatten der Strömungsräume 138 und 140 sind auch im größeren Abstand von der Oberseite bzw. der Unterseite des bahnförmigen Materials 132 angeordnet als die porösen, gasdurchlässigen Metallplatten der Strömungsräume 134 und 136. Die Metallschaumplatte 176 ist höhenverstellbar angeordnet und kann dadurch auf verschiedene, zu trocknende flächige Materialien abgestimmt werden. Oberhalb der Metallschaumplatte 176 ist ein Strömungsraum 178 angeordnet, aus dem Gas mittels eines Absaugventilators 180 abgesaugt wird. Gas strömt über einen Wärmetauscher 182 aus der Umgebung oder von einer Gasquelle kommend in den Strömungsraum 178 ein. An der Einlassseite des Strömungsraumes 178, also unmittelbar stromabwärts des Wärmetauschers 182 ist ein erster Strömungsgleichrichter 184 angeordnet und an der Auslassöffnung des Strömungsraumes 178 ist ein weiterer Strömungsgleichrichter 186 angeordnet. Die Strömungsgleichrichter 184, 186 bestehen jeweils aus offenporigen Metallschaumplatten und sorgen dadurch für sehr gleichmäßige Strömungsverhältnisse innerhalb des Strömungsraumes 178. Innerhalb dieses abgeschlossenen Raumes ist zum einen das zu trocknende flächige Material 196 angeordnet sowie auch ein Trockenraum 198, der zu seiner Oberseite hin durch eine Metallschaumplatte 200 begrenzt ist. Oberhalb der Metallschaumplatte ist ein Strömungsraum 202 angeordnet, durch den Gas geleitet wird, um über den Venturi-Effekt wiederum Gase aus dem Trockenraum 198 anzusaugen. Der Strömungsraum 202 ist somit einerseits durch die Metallschaumplatte 200 und andererseits durch eine Haube 204 begrenzt. A method for drying flat materials, in particular panels, films or sheets, comprising arranging at least one metal plate (20; 92; 176; 200; 212) made of porous, gas-permeable metal foam at a distance from the flat material which is to be dried and delivering gaseous fluid through the metal plate (20; 92; 176; 200; 212), characterized by taking in gaseous fluid through the metal plate from a region between the flat material and the metal plate (20; 92; 176; 200; 212), and guiding past delivery gas along a surface of the metal-plate (20; 92; 176; 200; 212) which is directed away from the flat material which is to be dried and taking in gaseous fluid through the metal plate (20; 92; 176; 200; 212) by means of the delivery gas guided past.
