- Capsule (1) having a capsule body (2), formed preferably in a rotationally symmetric manner, with a side wall (3) and a base (4), formed in particular integrally with the latter, and having a cover (5), covering the capsule body (2), for forming a closed chamber (6) that contains a substance (7) for preparing a liquid foodstuff, wherein the cover (5) is a closed film, which, to form at least one inlet opening, is able to be penetrated by penetration means arranged outside the capsule, and wherein the capsule has an outflow opening (10) for dispensing the liquid foodstuff in the region of the base (4), wherein the outflow opening (10) is closed by a valve (20) with a valve opening (21), wherein the valve (20) comprises a shut-off body (26) mounted so as to be displaceable in an axial direction between a closing position and an opening position, wherein the valve opening (21) is closed in the closing position and the valve opening (21) is open in the opening position, characterized in that the shut-off body (26) is preloaded into the closing position by means of a spring element (28).
- Capsule (1) according to Claim 1, characterized in that the spring element (28) is a cup spring.
- Capsule (1) according to either of Claims 1 and 2, characterized in that, in the closing position, the shut-off body (26) is integrally connected to the base (4) via a predetermined breaking point (25) .
- Capsule (1) according to one of Claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the shut-off body (24) is displaceable from the closing position into the opening position by a force acting counter to the preload from outside the capsule (1).
- Capsule (1) according to one of Claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the shut-off body (26) is in the form of a hollow-cylindrical peg, the side wall of which has a closed portion and a portion provided with valve openings (21).
- Capsule (1) according to one of Claims 1 to 5, characterized in that a mixing space (35) having a baffle plate (36) is arranged beneath the valve opening (21) in order to split a jet of the liquid foodstuff emerging from the valve opening (21) and to mix it with air.
- Capsule (1) according to one of Claims 1 to 6, characterized in that a filter element (14) is arranged between the substance (7) and the valve (20) .
- Capsule (1) according to one of Claims 1 to 7, characterized in that the chamber (6) is divided into two subregions by a separating layer arranged between the cover (5) and the base (4).
- Capsule (1) according to Claim 8, characterized in that the side wall (3) of the capsule body (2) has stop means (29) or latching means, against which the separating layer bears in a predefined position.
- Capsule (1) according to one of Claims 1 to 9, characterized in that a closure element (15), in particular a film (16), is arranged between the chamber (6) and the valve (20).
- Capsule (1) according to Claim 10, characterized in that the closure element (15) comprises a predetermined breaking point that breaks open under a predetermined or predeterminable pressure.
- Capsule according to one of Claims 1 to 11, characterized in that, in the closing position or in the opening position, the shut-off body (26) extends into the closed chamber over less than half, preferably over less than a third, of the distance between the base (4) and cover (5).
- System comprising a capsule (1), filled with a substance, according to one of Claims 1 to 12, and a beverage preparation machine which, for receiving the capsule, has a capsule holder, and a device for passing a liquid through the capsule in order to extract or dissolve the substance in order to produce a beverage, wherein the beverage preparation machine has at least one apparatus for penetrating the cover (5) of the capsule.
