- the bottom and the inner cup have mutually corresponding sealing surfaces, which can be pressed against each other when a hydraulic pressure in the inner cup concerns.
- the bottom may have, for example, a circular receptacle or a receiving shoulder, on which the inner cup is stable in position held, in particular locked or plugged.
- a receiving shoulder allows in particular a stable storage without the outer wall of the capsule is impaired.
- the sealing surface of the inner cup rests on the sealing surface of the bottom, a stable storage of the inner cup is ensured.
- the snap connections usually used for holding the inner cup in the capsule are usually provided with a play, and in particular can not be made reliable and dense.
- the inner cup may be spaced from the sidewall such that a circumferential cavity is formed.
- the size of the cavity is determined by the configuration of the capsule body and by the size of the inner cup.
- the size of the inner cup is dependent on the type of drink that is to be produced with the capsule.
- the cavity between the side wall of the capsule body and inner cup allows easier installation of the inner cup in the capsule body.
- the inner cup may have a collar spaced from the lid, which extends to the side wall of the capsule body.
- a collar allows a particularly simple and precise positioning of the inner cup in the capsule body.
- such a collar increases the attack surface of the hydraulic pressure, so that a larger force results, which presses the sealing surface of the inner cup on the sealing surface of the bottom of the capsule body. Accordingly, the sealing effect can be improved by such a collar.
- the collar can be perforated.
- the action of the collar is particularly required at the beginning of the injection of the liquid to achieve the sealing effect.
- the cavity is also filled with liquid, so that there is a pressure equilibrium inside and outside the inner cup.
- a defective deformation of the inner cup is prevented by simple means.
- the collar may comprise at least one hole, in particular at least 2, preferably 10 to 100 holes with a hole diameter of 0.1 mm to 0.7 mm.
- the holes may be evenly distributed on the surface of the collar.
- the collar may have a base area which is at least 5%, in particular 25%, preferably 50% of the base area of the capsule body.
- the surface of the collar is understood to mean that surface which, when the capsule is viewed from above, passes through the collar is trained. It is the hydraulically effective surface.
- Under the base of the capsule body is correspondingly understood that surface which is recognizable in a view from above of the capsule body.
- the base surface is of course only that surface which is arranged within a possibly peripheral edge of the capsule body. Again, this is the hydraulically effective surface. It goes without saying that the size of the collar correlates with the size of the inner cup.
- the collar can be supported on the side wall.
- the collar may have a support edge, which corresponds to a support surface of the side wall.
- the side wall of the capsule body in the interior have a step with a support surface.
- the collar may be provided with a collar edge which extends the outer end of the collar towards the lid. The collar edge runs parallel to the corresponding region of the side wall of the capsule body. Such a collar edge additionally improves the sealing effect between collar and side wall.
- the inner cup can be open at the top. Characterized in that the inner cup is open at the top, it is ensured that regardless of the place of injection or puncture of the lid each of the injected liquid can get into the inner cup. Also, it is thus ensured that during an injection directly into the inner cup and the collar is acted upon by the pressurized liquid and thus can develop the additional force effect.
- the inner cup may have a cylindrical inner shape.
- a cylindrical inner shape can be produced particularly easily.
- cylindrical is understood that in a cross section along the longitudinal axis through the inner cup, the side wall left and right of the longitudinal axis relative to the longitudinal axis are inclined less than 5 °.
- the volume of the inner cup may amount to a maximum of 90%, in particular a maximum of 75%, preferably a maximum of 50% of the total volume of the capsule.
- This ratio can be adjusted for example by the configuration of the side wall of the capsule body, by the configuration or choice of the size of the inner cup or by the positioning of the collar in the capsule body.
- the inner cup may have a filter bottom.
- a filter bottom in the inner cup, coffee powder or tea can be used in particular as a substance, wherein the filter bottom holds back the coffee powder or tea leaves during the preparation of the beverage.
- the inner cup can reach to the lid.
- the fact that the inner cup extends to the lid it can be ensured in particular during transport of the capsule, that the substance for the preparation of the drink is only in the inner cup. Contamination of the space outside of the inner cup is avoided. In particular, when the beverage preparation machine injects the liquid outside the inner cup, contamination of the piercing agent with the substance is thus prevented.
- the lid may be detachably connected to the inner cup. This will provide additional protection against contamination of the Room outside the inner cup reached. It is irrelevant whether the liquid is injected under pressure directly into the inner cup or into the space outside the inner cup. As a result of the detachable connection, when the liquid under pressure is injected, the cover is detached from the inner cup by the resulting pressure, so that the injected liquid is distributed both in the inner cup and in the space outside the inner cup. Accordingly, the hydraulic pressure will be effective in the area of the inner cup and in the region of the collar.
- the inner cup may be connected by means of a snap connection with the capsule body.
- a snap connection can be easily made and guarantees a firm connection between inner cup and capsule body.
- this snap connection must not be designed dense, since the seal is ensured by the two corresponding sealing surfaces.
- the snap connection can also be designed in segments, i. the snap connection does not have to be designed to be circumferentially closed. For example, already satisfies a snap connection, which has only three snapper defined to hold the inner cup stationary in the capsule body.
- a central snap connection or a centrally arranged press fit is conceivable, which ensures the mechanical positioning.
- FIG. 1 shows a schematic representation of an inventive capsule 1 with a capsule body 2 and an inner cup 9 arranged in the capsule body 2.
- the capsule body 2 has a rotationally symmetrical conical side wall 3 and a stepped capsule bottom 4.
- the capsule bottom is additionally provided with an outlet opening 8, through which a prepared beverage can escape from the capsule.
- the capsule body 2 is closed with a lid 5, usually in the form of a thin film. Through the lid 5 and the capsule body 2 a sealed chamber 6 is formed.
- the inner cup 9 is arranged in the interior of the capsule 1, as already mentioned.
- the inner cup 9 has a filter bottom 15.
- the inner cup 9 is provided on its underside, which faces the bottom 4 of the capsule body 2, with a snap device, which is provided with latching elements 19.
- This locking elements 19 is used for snapping attachment of the inner cup 9 in a recess 16 of the bottom 4, wherein the recess 16 has a receiving shoulder 17, which is provided with a locking groove 18.
- the locking elements 19 of the inner cup 9 can thus in engage the locking groove 18.
- such a latching connection can not ensure a tight connection between inner cup and bottom of the capsule body.
- the inner cup 9 is designed substantially smaller than the capsule body 2, so that circumferentially around the inner cup 9, a cavity 12 is formed.
- This cavity 12 is limited at its upper, the cover 5 end facing by the collar 10 of the inner cup 9.
- the cavity 12 is essentially delimited by the bottom 4 or a sealing surface 14.
- the collar 10 is perforated and has corresponding perforation openings 11, which are preferably arranged at regular intervals around the inner cup 9 around.
- the inner cup 9 is provided on its underside, ie on the side facing the bottom 4 of the capsule body 2, with a sealing surface 13, which according to the invention cooperates with the sealing surface 14 of the capsule body 2. It is explicitly noted that in the schematic representation of FIG.
- the distance between the sealing surface 13 of the inner cup 9 and the sealing surface 14 of the bottom 4 is exaggerated. In reality, this will be a small gap or a small game stemming from the locking connection between locking groove 18 and locking edge 19 of less than 1 mm.
- the substance 7 is partially indicated, which may be, for example, coffee or tea. Of course, other substances are also conceivable which are suitable for the preparation of a beverage.
- the capsule body In order to facilitate the attachment of the lid 5 to the capsule body 2, the capsule body in a known manner to a peripheral edge 20 or flange.
- FIG. 2 shows the capsule 1 according to FIG. 1 , wherein the path of the injected liquid is shown from the injection through the lid 5 to the outlet on the outlet opening 8.
- a pressure P1 will immediately form inside the inner cup 9 as well as in the area between the lid 5 and the collar 10.
- This hydraulic pressure P1 will act on the entire area F1, which corresponds substantially to the total area of the capsule, and result in a force K1.
- This force K1 presses the inner cup 9 with its sealing surface 13 against the sealing surface 14 of the bottom 4.
- the injected liquid or a portion of the injected liquid will pass through the perforation openings 11 of the collar 10 into the cavity 12 and fill it.
- the pressure P2 in this cavity 12 will also be equal to the pressure P1.
- the effective base area which develops a force effect together with the hydraulic pressure P1 reduce so that it only corresponds to the base area F2 of the inner cup.
- the resulting force K2 will be correspondingly smaller than the force K1 at the beginning of the injection process.
- the gap between the sealing surface 13 of the inner cup 9 and the sealing surface 14 of the bottom 4 is already closed, the now available force K2 is sufficient to maintain the sealing effect.
- FIGS. 3 and 4 a further embodiment of a capsule 1 according to the invention is shown.
- this capsule 1 differs only by the design of the inner cup 9 of the capsule according to the Figures 1 and 2 , Accordingly, the same reference numerals as in the Figures 1 and 2 used.
- the inner cup 9 is slightly conical, so that the volume of the substance 7 received in the inner cup 9 with respect to the embodiment according to the Figures 1 and 2 is further reduced.
- the inner cup 9 in the bottom area in addition to a circumferential flange 21, which extends to the side wall 3 of the capsule body 2. Accordingly, the sealing surface 13 of the inner cup 9 is arranged on this flange 21 and cooperates in a known manner with the sealing surface 14 of the capsule body 2.
- This flange 21 now causes when injecting the liquid and a balanced pressure P2 in the cavity 12 that responsible for the force effect base F2 is only slightly smaller than the base F1.
- the force F2 thus remains greater than that in the embodiment according to the Figures 1 and 2 the case is. Accordingly, a force K2, which is only slightly smaller than the force K1 at the beginning of the injection, still acts even when the pressure is balanced.
- FIG. 5 shows a further embodiment of an inventive capsule 1 in a cutaway perspective view.
- the capsule 1 in turn has a capsule body 2 and an inner cup 9.
- a step 25 is formed in the side wall 3 of the capsule body 2, which on the inside forms a support surface 26.
- On this bearing surface 26 of the collar 10 is located with a support edge 23.
- This combination of support edge 23 and support surface 26 improves the sealing effect between collar 10 and side wall 3 of the capsule body 2. This sealing effect is necessary in particular at the beginning of the injection to the sealing effect between the two sealing surfaces 13, 14 (see FIGS. 1 to 4 ) to ensure.
- the collar 10 is further equipped with a collar edge 24, which the outer end of the collar 10 toward the lid 5 (see FIGS. 1 to 4 ) extended. Also, this collar edge 24 is the improved seal at the beginning of the injection. The collar edge 24 lies flat against the side wall 3 of the capsule body 2.
- the inner cup 9 is further provided with a cup rim 22, which the inner cup 9 via the collar 10 to the lid 5 (see FIGS. 1 to 4 ).
- the lid may be sealed on the cup edge 22 or only rest loosely.
- at least one inlet opening 27 is provided in the cup rim.
- This inlet opening 27 can be used as a vertical slot, as in the FIG. 5 represented, designed as a horizontal slot, as a bore or in any other form.
- two, three or more such inlet openings 27, preferably circulating at a regular distance, may be arranged in the cup rim 22.
- the filter bottom 15 of the inner cup 9 has a plurality of reinforcing ribs 28. These reinforcing ribs 28 ensure that the filter bottom 15 can not deform excessively when applied injection pressure.

Description
The present invention relates to a capsule with a preferably rotationally symmetrical capsule body according to the preamble of
The capsule forms a portion package for the transport and storage of the substance contained therein and at the same time the design of the capsule plays an important role in the preparation of the beverage in a corresponding beverage preparation machine. Such machines usually work with a high operating pressure, depending on the type of preparation and substance, the flow behavior of the liquid in the capsule plays an important role. The opening of the capsule on the inlet side is usually carried out by penetration of the lid when enclosing the capsule in the beverage preparation machine.
It is also known to use a capsule with an inner cup arranged in the capsule for reducing the substance volume. However, such capsules, especially if they are designed in one piece, are expensive to manufacture. However, a two-part production requires a complex seal between inner cup and spout to ensure that no injected water without passing through the substance cake from the capsule licks.

It is an object of the invention to provide a two-part capsule without a complicated seal in which a reduced volume of substance is easily flowed through and which can ensure a high quality of the prepared drink. This object is achieved with a capsule, which has the features of
A capsule according to the invention with a preferably rotationally symmetrical capsule body with a side wall and with a bottom formed in particular integrally therewith is provided with a lid covering the capsule body for forming at least one chamber. For the passage of a liquid through the chamber of the lid form an inlet side and the bottom of an outlet side with a preferably central outlet opening. Above the bottom, a separate inner cup, covering the outlet opening and permeable by liquid, is held in the capsule containing a substance for the preparation of a liquid food. In this case, the bottom and the inner cup have mutually corresponding sealing surfaces, which can be pressed against each other when a hydraulic pressure in the inner cup concerns. This results in a seal between the inner cup and the bottom, so that an injected liquid can leave the capsule only through the cup and then through the outlet opening. The bottom may have, for example, a circular receptacle or a receiving shoulder, on which the inner cup is stable in position held, in particular locked or plugged. Such a receiving shoulder allows in particular a stable storage without the outer wall of the capsule is impaired. In particular, when the sealing surface of the inner cup rests on the sealing surface of the bottom, a stable storage of the inner cup is ensured. As is generally known, the snap connections usually used for holding the inner cup in the capsule are usually provided with a play, and in particular can not be made reliable and dense. By using mutually corresponding sealing surfaces between inner cup and bottom of the capsule body, however, a tight connection can be ensured in the presence of hydraulic pressure. Such a hydraulic pressure arises when the lid is pierced during the preparation of a drink and a liquid is injected under pressure into the capsule. The substance present in the inner cup will automatically form a flow resistance, so that an internal pressure builds up. This internal pressure or hydraulic pressure results in a force by which the inner cup is pressed with its sealing surface on the sealing surface of the soil. It goes without saying that the bottom of the inner cup must be designed so that it can retain the substance.
The inner cup may be spaced from the sidewall such that a circumferential cavity is formed. The size of the cavity is determined by the configuration of the capsule body and by the size of the inner cup. The size of the inner cup is dependent on the type of drink that is to be produced with the capsule. The cavity between the side wall of the capsule body and inner cup allows easier installation of the inner cup in the capsule body.
The inner cup may have a collar spaced from the lid, which extends to the side wall of the capsule body. Such a collar allows a particularly simple and precise positioning of the inner cup in the capsule body. In addition, such a collar increases the attack surface of the hydraulic pressure, so that a larger force results, which presses the sealing surface of the inner cup on the sealing surface of the bottom of the capsule body. Accordingly, the sealing effect can be improved by such a collar.
The collar can be perforated. The action of the collar is particularly required at the beginning of the injection of the liquid to achieve the sealing effect. In the course of the preparation of the drink, however, it is helpful if the cavity is also filled with liquid, so that there is a pressure equilibrium inside and outside the inner cup. In particular, in an inner cup made of a plastic material and the use of hot liquids thus a defective deformation of the inner cup is prevented by simple means.
The collar may comprise at least one hole, in particular at least 2, preferably 10 to 100 holes with a hole diameter of 0.1 mm to 0.7 mm. The holes may be evenly distributed on the surface of the collar.
The collar may have a base area which is at least 5%, in particular 25%, preferably 50% of the base area of the capsule body. By suitable choice of size of the collar, in particular the additional resulting force can be influenced, which is achieved by the surface of the collar. In this case, the surface of the collar is understood to mean that surface which, when the capsule is viewed from above, passes through the collar is trained. It is the hydraulically effective surface. Under the base of the capsule body is correspondingly understood that surface which is recognizable in a view from above of the capsule body. Of course, the base surface is of course only that surface which is arranged within a possibly peripheral edge of the capsule body. Again, this is the hydraulically effective surface. It goes without saying that the size of the collar correlates with the size of the inner cup.
The collar can be supported on the side wall. Thus, an additional sealing effect between collar and side wall is achieved. Accordingly, leakage is prevented. The collar may have a support edge, which corresponds to a support surface of the side wall. For example, for this purpose, the side wall of the capsule body in the interior have a step with a support surface. Such an embodiment can be realized very easily. The collar may be provided with a collar edge which extends the outer end of the collar towards the lid. The collar edge runs parallel to the corresponding region of the side wall of the capsule body. Such a collar edge additionally improves the sealing effect between collar and side wall.
The inner cup can be open at the top.
The inner cup may have a cylindrical inner shape. A cylindrical inner shape can be produced particularly easily. Here, by cylindrical is understood that in a cross section along the longitudinal axis through the inner cup, the side wall left and right of the longitudinal axis relative to the longitudinal axis are inclined less than 5 °.
The volume of the inner cup may amount to a maximum of 90%, in particular a maximum of 75%, preferably a maximum of 50% of the total volume of the capsule. This ratio can be adjusted for example by the configuration of the side wall of the capsule body, by the configuration or choice of the size of the inner cup or by the positioning of the collar in the capsule body.
The inner cup may have a filter bottom. By using a filter bottom in the inner cup, coffee powder or tea can be used in particular as a substance, wherein the filter bottom holds back the coffee powder or tea leaves during the preparation of the beverage.
The inner cup can reach to the lid. The fact that the inner cup extends to the lid, it can be ensured in particular during transport of the capsule, that the substance for the preparation of the drink is only in the inner cup. Contamination of the space outside of the inner cup is avoided. In particular, when the beverage preparation machine injects the liquid outside the inner cup, contamination of the piercing agent with the substance is thus prevented.
The lid may be detachably connected to the inner cup.
The inner cup may be connected by means of a snap connection with the capsule body. A snap connection can be easily made and guarantees a firm connection between inner cup and capsule body. In this case, this snap connection must not be designed dense, since the seal is ensured by the two corresponding sealing surfaces. Accordingly, the snap connection can also be designed in segments, i. the snap connection does not have to be designed to be circumferentially closed. For example, already satisfies a snap connection, which has only three snapper defined to hold the inner cup stationary in the capsule body. Likewise, a central snap connection or a centrally arranged press fit is conceivable, which ensures the mechanical positioning.
