Definitions
- the invention relates to a brush manufacturing machine according to the preamble of claim 1 and a method for manufacturing brushes.
- the generic DE 40 40 297 A1 describes a brush manufacturing machine in which notches in a bundle removal wheel are filled from a bristle storage container, from where the bristle bundles thus formed are pushed by an insertion device into openings in a bundle carrier.
- the DE 44 13 125 C1 shows a brush manufacturing machine in which bundles of bristles are drawn into openings of a bundle carrier with the aid of a thread loop. From a storage container, bristles are pressed into notches of a bundle removal wheel in order to form the individual bristle bundles. An insertion device brings the respective bundle of bristles into the associated opening in the bundle carrier. The bundle carrier is moved during production so that the desired opening can be fitted in each case.
- the object of the invention is to enable brushes, in particular toothbrushes, to be manufactured reliably and yet flexibly at low cost.
- a brush manufacturing machine with the features of claim 1 is provided according to the invention.
- a method with the features of claim 22 is also provided according to the invention.
- the invention is based on the basic idea of using the bundle remover to preform two or more bristle bundles, in particular also with regard to the distance from one another. In this way, several bundles of bristles can be used directly and simultaneously in the bundle carrier.
- the bundle remover is a bundle removal wheel. This can in particular be further adjusted in a single direction of rotation, so that several different bundle receiving notches can be provided along the circumference of the bundle removal wheel.
- the bundle remover is a translationally displaceable bundle removal slide. This results in a very compact structure.
- the bundle remover is a back and forth rotationally adjustable bundle remover rocker.
- a component that is known in its basic features and has therefore been tested can be used as the bundle collector.
- holder drive which can adjust the holder relative to the bundle remover.
- the holder drive ensures that the holders are correctly positioned relative to the bundle remover in order to be able to push a bundle of bristles located in the bundle remover into an opening provided for the bundle of bristles.
- the holder drive is a holder indexing drive which further adjusts the holders evenly. In this way, there is little control effort.
- the holder is adjustably attached to the holder drive.
- the holder can be individually aligned relative to the bundle remover. This can be done by means of a holder positioning drive, both along the direction in which the holder is adjusted, as well as across it. It is also possible to pivot the holder so that bundles of bristles can be attached to the holder in different orientations.
- a bundle remover positioning drive is provided with which the bundle remover is adjusted relative to the holder or to the position of the holder. This has structural advantages, since the bundle removal positioning drive is basically designed to be stationary, while the holder positioning drive is provided on the holder drive so that it runs around the entire length.
- the push-in device and other components that are involved in pushing the bundles into the openings of the bundle carrier can also be adjusted with the bundle removal positioning drive.
- the bundle receiving notches differ from one another with regard to their contour and / or their cross section. In this way, different bundles of bristles can already be preformed in the bundle remover.
- the bundle remover is provided with several groups of bundle receiving notches on its outer edge. In this way, the cycle frequency of the machine can be increased, since it is not necessary to adjust the bundle remover by a complete cycle between the insertion of two bundles of bristles, but only from one group of bundle receiving notches to the next.
- the groups of bundle receiving notches differ from one another with regard to the contour of the bundle receiving notches, the cross section of the bundle receiving notches and / or the number of bundle receiving notches within a group. With different groups of bundle receiving notches on the bundle remover, very complex bundle patterns can be produced on the brush.
- the bundle receiving notches have at least in part a non-circular contour.
- a contour enables rectangular, oval, triangular ones in the bundle remover or to pre-form other bundles of bristles, which are then introduced into openings in the holder assigned to them.
- bristle storage containers are provided.
- a brush can be equipped with different bristles with little effort.
- "Different bristles" means that the bristles differ from one another with regard to their material, their color, their diameter and / or other physical properties.
- An adjustment drive is preferably provided for the storage container, with which the bristle storage container can be adjusted relative to the bundle removers.
- the adjustment drive enables a bristle storage container, which is equipped with the desired type of bristles, to be suitably arranged on the bundle remover at the desired point in time.
- a filling station is provided in order to fill the bristle storage container with bristles. This enables automated operation of the machine.
- a welding station can also be provided in order to weld bristles.
- the bristles can either be welded to neighboring bristles and / or to the material of a holder so that they are firmly received in the holder.
- a finishing station may also be provided to cut, dress and / or round the bristles. It is then no longer necessary to feed the holder with the bundles of bristles to a separate machine in which these steps are carried out.
- bristles that are mechanically or chemically pre-pointed can also be used. Pre-rounded bristles can also be used. In these cases, there is no need for rounding in the finishing station.
- an insertion aid with at least one bundle guide opening is provided between the bundle remover and the holder.
- the introduction aid makes it easier to introduce the bundle of bristles from the bundle receiving notch into the opening of the holder.
- the insertion aid can be used to "move" the bundles appropriately when they are pushed in, in order to compensate for an offset between the position of the bundle in the bundle remover and the position of the opening in the bundle holder.
- a bundle guide opening can be used for this, which extends obliquely through the insertion aid.
- the side of the bundle guide opening facing the bundle remover is adapted in terms of its contour and its cross section to the contour and the cross section of the corresponding bundle receiving notch. This ensures that the bundle of bristles can be pushed out of the bundle receiving notch into the bundle guide opening.
- the insertion of the bristle bundles can be assisted by providing an insertion bevel.
- the side of the bundle guide opening facing away from the bundle collector has a contour which deviates from the contour on the side of the bundle guide opening facing the bundle collector.
- the insertion aid is used to transform a bundle of bristles held in a bundle receiving notch, which has a cross section predetermined by the contour of the bundle receiving notch, into a bristle bundle with a different contour.
- the bundle guide opening extends at least on the side facing away from the bundle remover in a direction which deviates from the direction in which the bundle of bristles held in the bundle receiving notch extends.
- This embodiment is particularly advantageous when the opening to be filled in the holder is oriented obliquely to the direction in which the bundle of bristles is held in the bundle receiving notch. It is then not necessary to position the holder at a suitable angle so that the bundle of bristles can be pushed in, but the necessary deflection can take place directly by means of the bundle guide opening of the insertion aid.
- the insertion aid has two or more separate bundle guide openings on the side facing the bundle collector, which are brought together in a single bundle guide opening on the side facing away from the bundle collector. With this configuration can the insertion aid can be used to bring two bundles of bristles with preferably different bristles together to form a single bundle of bristles, which is then introduced into an associated opening in the holder.
- the insertion aid can also have a large bundle guide opening in which several bundles are brought together, which are then pushed into a common opening in the bundle carrier.
- the holder is fitted with different bundles of bristles one after the other, the holder being repositioned between the individual fitting processes. This ensures that the holder is optimally aligned for the bristle bundles to be introduced.
- the holders are adjusted together relative to the bundle collectors, the distance between the individual bundle collectors differing slightly from the distance by which the holders are further adjusted at each step.
- the further adjustment (indexing) of the holders results in little effort, since they are all further adjusted by the same distance. This can be achieved, for example, in that the holders are connected to one another.
- the openings arranged at different positions of the bundle carrier are "approached" in this embodiment in that the individual bundle collectors are positioned differently from the predetermined position of the bundle carrier that the bundle carrier has when it is positioned on the respective bundle collector by means of the holder.
- the bundle removers can be arranged on a bundle removal positioning drive with which the bundle removers (and possibly other components such as the insertion device and also the insertion aid) can be aligned to the desired position.
- the holders are adjusted together by means of the holder drive, but are additionally individually positioned individually relative to the corresponding bundle remover, for example by means of a holder positioning drive.
- each bundle carrier is positioned on the corresponding bundle remover in such a way that the The opening to be fitted is suitably aligned relative to the bundle of bristles located in the corresponding bundle receiving notch.
- At least two bundle removers are provided, each of which has at least two bundle receiving notches, the bundles of bristles located in the first bundle receiving notch of the first and second bundle removers being pushed into an associated opening of the bundle carrier at the same time, whereupon the bundle removers so can be further adjusted so that the bundle carrier is assigned a second bundle receiving notch of the first and second bundle remover, the bristle bundles of the second bundle receiving notches being pushed into the next opening of the bundle carrier at the same time.
- FIG. 1 and 2 some of the basic components of a brush making machine according to the invention are shown. These elements are a bundle remover 10 for each insertion station, which is designed here as a bundle removal wheel, a bristle storage container 20, an insertion device 40 and a holder 50 for holding a bundle carrier 5 which is to be provided with bundles of bristles. An insertion aid 30 is also shown.
- the bundle carrier 5 contains several openings 6 which are to be equipped with bundles of bristles.
- the bundle carrier 5 can be the head portion of a toothbrush body into which the bristle bundles are inserted directly.
- the bundle carrier 5 can also be a small carrier plate, the openings 6 of which are provided with the bristle bundles. It is then possible to fasten the bundle of bristles to the bundle carrier, for example by welding or gluing, and then to fasten the bundle carrier to a toothbrush body to be attached or encapsulated with plastic so that it becomes part of the toothbrush body.
- the bundle carrier 5 can also be equipped with additional elements, for example rubber elements or soft plastic elements.
- the bundle carrier 5 can also be an intermediate carrier, for example made of metal, which holds the bristle bundles until further processing, for example until they are directly encapsulated with the material forming the toothbrush body, whereby they are fastened there.
- the bundle carrier 5 is any component that is provided with openings into which several bristle bundles are to be inserted.
- the bundle carrier 5 can then later be part of the brush to be produced or it can only hold the bristle bundles temporarily until they are connected to the brush to be produced.
- the openings 6 in the bundle carrier 5 can have different and mutually different contours. In principle, all openings 6 can have a circular contour with the same diameter. However, the brush manufacturing machine also makes it possible to equip more complex opening patterns (see in particular Figure 2 ). Two elongated openings with different sizes and two circular openings with different sizes or cross-sections are shown here as examples. Each of the openings 6 is intended to receive a bristle bundle 14, the cross section of the bristle bundle corresponding to the cross section or the contour of the corresponding opening 6.
- the bundle remover 10 is designed as a bundle removal wheel or disk.
- the bundle removal wheel 10 is mounted so that it can be rotated about its central axis.
- a drive (not shown in the drawings) is provided for this purpose.
- the drive can, for example, be a servo drive with which the bundle removal wheel 10 can be adjusted precisely by a desired angle of rotation in a controlled manner.
- the bundle removal wheel 10 is adjusted in a single direction (see, for example, the arrow in FIG Figure 2 ).
- Each bundle removal wheel 10 is provided with at least two bundle receiving notches 12 (in the Figures 1 and 2 For the sake of simplicity, only a single bundle receiving notch 12 is shown), which are assigned to a bundle carrier. This makes it possible to equip a bundle carrier with at least two bristle bundles at the same time.
- Each bundle receiving notch 12 is arranged on the outer circumference of the bundle removal wheel 10 in such a way that it is open to the outer circumference of the bundle removal wheel 10.
- each bundle receiving notch 12 represents an interruption of the circular circumference of the bundle removal wheel 10.
- Each bundle receiving notch 12 is designed with a special contour which corresponds to the contour of a specific one of the openings 6 in the bundle carrier 5.
- the bundle receiving notch 12 has a triangular cross-section, with one of the tips of the triangle pointing towards the center of the bundle removal wheel 10.
- This contour corresponds to the contour of a triangular opening 6 which is provided in the bundle carrier 5.
- This particular opening 6 is in Figure 1 denoted by the reference numeral 6T.
- the bristle storage container 20 is designed in such a way that it can accommodate a very large number of individual bristles 22, which are held between schematically illustrated guides 24 here.
- At least one base plate is additionally provided for guides 24 shown.
- the bristle storage container 20 is arranged in such a way that the bristles contained therein are offered to the outer circumference of the bundle removal wheel 10. In particular, the bristles 22 are pressed slightly against the bundle removal wheel 10.
- the bundle removal wheel 10 is rotated relative to the bristle storage container 20 in such a way that the bundle receiving notch 12 is guided past the bristles provided in the bristle storage container 20. Since the bristles are slightly against the Bundle removal wheel 10 are acted upon, a certain amount of bristles 22 enters the bundle receiving notch 12 until it is completely filled and form a bundle of bristles.
- the bristles 22 contained in the bundle receiving notch 12 are transported in the form of a bristle bundle 14 into an insertion position which is in the Figures 1 and 2 is shown and in which the bristle bundle 14 is pushed into the bundle carrier 5, in particular into an opening 6 to be equipped.
- An additional guide (not shown here) is provided along the outer circumference of the bundle removal wheel 10, with which the bundles of bristles are prevented from leaving the bundle receiving notches 12 when they are moved from the receiving position on the bristle storage container 20 into the insertion position below the insertion device 40.
- the insertion device 40 In order to insert the bristle bundle 14 into the corresponding opening 6 of the bundle carrier 5, the insertion device 40 is provided, which exerts a pushing or pressure force on the bristle bundles in such a way that they are pushed towards the bundle carrier 5 and into the corresponding opening 6. With reference to the Figures 1 and 2 the push-in device 40 presses the bundle of bristles 14 downward, as symbolized by the arrow.
- the bristles are pushed into the bundle carrier 5 at such a speed that they do not give way to the side, but are pushed straight into the corresponding opening 6 along their longitudinal axis.
- the insertion device 40 can be designed as a punch or piston which pushes a bundle of bristles or several adjacent bundles of bristles simultaneously from the bundle removal wheel 10 through the insertion aid 30 into the bundle carrier 5.
- the insertion aid 30 is arranged between the “front” end of the bristle bundle 14 and the opposite side of the bundle carrier 5.
- the insertion aid 30 is designed here as a plate which is provided with insertion openings 32. These have a contour that corresponds to the contour of the bundle receiving notch 12 of the bundle of bristles contained therein 14 and corresponds to the corresponding opening 6 into which the bundle of bristles is to be inserted.
- the insertion aid 30 has a triangular insertion opening 32 for the triangular bristle bundle 14, which is from the in Figure 1 on the left is provided bundle removal wheel 10, and a circular insertion opening 32 for the circular bristle bundle 14, which is from the in Figure 1 Bundle doffer wheel 10 shown on the right is provided.
- Each of the insertion openings 32 is provided with a bevel 34 on the side facing the bundle removal wheel, so that the insertion of the bristle bundles 14 is facilitated.
- a bundle carrier 5 is suitably positioned below the bundle removal wheel 10 by means of the holder 50.
- a bundle carrier 5 can be seen which is already provided with a bristle bundle 14 with a circular cross-section and which is next provided with a bristle bundle 14 with a triangular cross-section.
- each bristle bundle is pushed completely through the insertion aid 30 so that the end of the bristle bundle 14 on which the insertion device 40 engages is flush in the broadest sense with the side of the bundle carrier 5 facing the bundle removal wheel 10.
- insertion openings 32 which serve to reshape and / or deflect the bundles of bristles pushed into them.
- insertion openings which serve to reshape and / or deflect the bundles of bristles pushed into them.
- a first cross-sectional shape which is predetermined by the contour of the bundle receiving notch 12 in the bundle remover 10
- a second cross-sectional shape for example from round to angular.
- two or more insertion openings 32 beginning separately on the "top" of the insertion aid 30 meet in the further course, so that two or more bundles of bristles, which are held in separate bundle receiving notches 12 on the bundle remover, become a single one Bundles are combined, which is then pushed into the opening of the bundle carrier 5.
- the insertion openings can also be used to displace the bristle bundles laterally in order to compensate for an offset between the position of the bundle in the bundle receiving notch and the position of the opening in the bundle carrier.
- FIG. 3 An embodiment of the brush manufacturing machine is shown in which four different bundle removal wheels 10 are shown, each bundle removal wheel first forming several bristle bundles with different contours and then transporting them from the receiving position into an insertion position.
- the bundle removal wheels 10 are each adjusted in a single direction (counterclockwise in the figures).
- the brush making machine shown uses a plurality of bristle storage containers 20 attached to a bristle container displacement drive 26.
- the bristle container adjustment drive 26 is designed here similar to a carousel, which adjusts the bristle storage container 20 along the bundle removal wheels 10 and also along a filling station 28 at which each of the bristle storage containers 20 is supplied with new bristles 22.
- a servo drive can be used to transport the storage containers.
- the holders 50 are attached to a holder drive 52, which is also designed here in the manner of a carousel.
- the holder drive 52 can in particular be a holder indexing drive with which the holders 50 (and thus the bundle carriers 5 arranged thereon) are adjusted one after the other by steps of the same size along the individual bundle removal wheels 10.
- the bundle carriers 5 are presented to the bundle stripper wheels 10 in different positions.
- the bundle carrier 5 is presented to the first bundle removal wheel 10 in such a way that the outer circumference of the first bundle removal wheel 10 "interacts" with the outer right edge of the bundle carrier. In other words: the right outer edge is presented to the bundle receiving notches 12 of the bundle removal wheel 10.
- the outer circumference of the second bundle removal wheel 10 interacts with the right central section of the bundle carrier 5.
- the outer circumference of the third bundle removal wheel 10 interacts with the left central section of the bundle carrier 5.
- the outer circumference of the fourth bundle removal wheel 10 finally interacts with the outer left edge of the bundle carrier 5.
- the different positions of the bundle carrier 5 on the corresponding bundle removal wheels 10 is achieved by a holder positioning drive 54, which is shown schematically in detail 3 from FIG Figure 3 is shown.
- the holder positioning drive 54 is effective between the holder drive 52 and the holder 50 and is designed in such a way that it can adjust the holder 50 slightly forwards and backwards (see arrow P) with respect to the direction in which the holders 50 are adjusted by the holder drive 52.
- the holder positioning drive 54 can be designed such that it rotates the holder 50 slightly so that the bundle carrier 5 can be presented to the corresponding bundle removal wheel 10 at different angles (see arrow R). It can also be provided that the holder positioning drive 54 adjusts the holders transversely to the adjustment direction of the holder drive 52.
- a bundle removal positioning drive can also be used, with which the position of the bundle removal relative to the holder drive can be adjusted.
- the bundle remover positioning drive can be designed, for example, as a sliding guide or slide with which the bundle remover can be moved along the direction of adjustment the holder can be positioned appropriately.
- the insertion device and the insertion aid can also be attached to the bundle removal positioning drive so that they can be adjusted synchronously with the bundle removal device.
- FIG 4a the various bundle receiving notches 12, which are arranged on the outer circumference of the first bundle removal wheel 10, are shown in detail. It can be seen that a group of bundle receiving openings 12 is provided which have different shapes, for example a circular contour, a parallelogram-like contour, a triangular contour and a rectangular contour. These bundle receiving notches 12 form bundles of bristles 14 which have the same cross section or the same contour as the corresponding bundle receiving notch 12 and which are then transported further so that they are presented to the corresponding bundle carrier 5 in the insertion position. There they are pushed into the corresponding opening 6.
- the introducer 30 is in Figure 4 not shown so as not to obscure the view of the bundle carrier 5.
- the second bundle removal wheel 10 is shown, which is provided on its outer circumference with a group of bundle receiving notches 12, which here all have a circular cross-section or a circular contour, but with different diameters.
- bundle receiving notches 12 serve to supply six openings 6 in the bundle carrier 5 with six bundles of bristles 14.
- the position of the bundle receiving notches 12 does not necessarily have to coincide exactly with the position of the openings 6 in the bundle carrier 5.
- the bundle doffer wheel 10 is provided with another group of bundle receiving notches 12, namely two bundle receiving notches with a circular contour and an elongated hole-like one arranged between them Bundle receiving notch 12. It can be seen that the bristle bundles 14 held in these bundle receiving notches 12 are pushed into associated openings 6 in the bundle carrier 5 in the insertion position, these openings again not being perfectly aligned with the bundle receiving notches 12 of the bundle removal wheel 10.
- the holder indexing drive 52 transports the bundle carriers 5 to a schematically shown finishing station 60 at which the bristle bundles are finished. Finishing may consist of trimming and / or orienting the bristles to the desired length. Furthermore, the bristles can be rounded at their free ends.
- the effort for the rounding can be less or the rounding can be omitted completely.
- the holder indexing drive 52 transports the bundle carriers 5 to a welding station 62, in which the ends of the bristles received in the bundle carrier are heated so that the material of the bristles melts slightly. It is also possible that the material from which the bundle carrier 5 exists, is slightly melted.
- the bristles bond with one another and, if necessary, with the bundle carrier 5, in a manner similar to welding.
- FIG 5 an alternative embodiment of the bundle removal wheel 10 is shown.
- the bundle removal wheel 10 is provided here on its outer circumference with four groups of bundle receiving notches 12, each group corresponding to a group of bundle receiving notches which are located on the four bundle removal wheels 10 of the Figures 4a to 4d are provided.
- each bundle removal wheel 10 is further adjusted in steps of 90 °. Each of these positions corresponds to an insertion position of the bristle bundles 14 arranged in the corresponding group of bundle receiving notches 12 as well as the receiving position for the subsequent group of bundle receiving notches 12.
- the groups of bundle receiving notches 12 can also be distributed unevenly on the circumference of the bundle removal wheel 10, in which case the bundle removal wheel 10 is further adjusted between each cycle by a suitable angle that deviates from 90 °.
- Bundle removal wheel 10 the bundle carriers 5 do not have to be further adjusted between the various bundle removal wheels 10 in order to be provided with the bristles, as is the case in the embodiment according to FIGS Figures 3 and 4th the case is. Instead, it is only necessary to adjust the holder 50 slightly relative to the bundle removal wheel 10 in order to better align the openings 6 to be provided with the next set of bristle bundles 14 with the associated bundle receiving notches 12 of the next group of bundle receiving notches. This adjustment can take place by means of the holder drive 52 or the holder positioning drive 54.
- the holder 50 is adjusted further in order to present the next bundle carrier 5 to the bundle removal wheel 10.
- Each of the four bundle removal wheels 10 is assigned a bristle storage container 20 which contains different types or types of bristles 22a to 22d.
- the difference between the bristles can be in color, material, diameter or other properties.
- the first bundle removal wheel 10 shown is intended to feed a total of four bristle bundles 14 to the bundle carrier 5, the holder 50 being adjusted in the direction of arrow A so that the first bundle removal wheel 10 can provide the two groups of bristle bundles 14 in a suitable manner for the associated openings 6.
- the second bundle removal wheel 10 shown is intended to provide three groups of bristle bundles 14, namely two bristle bundles on each lateral section of the bundle carrier 5 and two bristle bundles arranged on the center line.
- the holder 50 is repositioned between each insertion step by means of the holder positioning drive.
- the third bundle removal wheel 10 shown is intended to provide three groups of bristle bundles. Accordingly, three groups of bundle receiving notches 12 are provided on the outer circumference of the bundle removal wheel 10.
- the fourth bundle removal wheel 10 (see Figure 6d ) is similar to the one in Figure 6a
- the first bundle removal wheel shown is provided with two groups of bundle receiving notches 12 in order to provide two groups of bristle bundles 14 for insertion into the corresponding openings 6 of the bundle carrier 5.
- the second and third bundle removal wheel 10 must obviously be further adjusted three times for one cycle, while the first and fourth bundle removal wheel 10 only have to be further adjusted twice within the same cycle. This can be achieved in that either a higher operating speed for the second and third bundle removal wheel 10 is selected or a short pause is implemented for the first and fourth bundle removal wheel 10 after the second further adjustment, during which the third insertion process for the second and third bundle removal wheel 10 is carried out.
- the bundle removal wheels 10 are arranged in such a way that the position of the bundle carrier 5 with respect to the outer circumference of the individual bundle removal wheels is different in each case.
- the bundle carrier 5 is arranged in such a way that its right outer edge lies on the outer circumference of the bundle removal wheel 10.
- the outer circumference of the corresponding bundle removal wheel 10 "moves" radially to the left until the outer circumference of the tenth bundle removal wheel 10 is on the left outer edge of the bundle carrier 5.
- the first bundle removal wheel 10 shown is not provided with any bundle receiving notch 12, since none of the openings 6 of the bundle carrier 5 is in a position which is particularly suitable for being equipped with the first bundle removal wheel 10.
- the second bundle removal wheel 10 (see Figure 8b ) is provided with four groups of bundle receiving notches 12, which are provided here with the reference numerals 12A to 12D.
- the bundle receiving notches 12A to 12D are provided for receiving bundles of bristles 14A to 14D from the corresponding one of the bristle reservoirs 20A to 20D.
- the second bundle removal wheel 10 is provided here with two bundle receiving notches 12A with a parallelogram-like contour, with which two bundles of bristles are formed, which consist of a first type of bristle 22A. Furthermore, two bundle receiving notches 12B are provided which have a triangular contour and present two bundles of bristles 14, which consist of a second type of bristles 22B, to the bundle carrier 5.
- the second bundle removal wheel 10 is provided with two bundle receiving notches 12C, which have a circular contour and present two bristle bundles 14 made of a third bristle type 22C to the bundle carrier 5. These are the bundles of bristles that appear in Figure 8b are just presented to the bundle carrier 5.
- the second bundle stripper wheel 10 is provided with two bundle receiving notches 12D which have a generally rectangular contour and which provide two bundles of bristles which consist of a third type of bristle 22d.
- a complete operating cycle consists of adjusting the second bundle removal wheel 10 further four times, while the bristle storage containers 20 are also adjusted further four times, so that it is possible for the bundle removal wheel 10 to pick up four different sets of bristle bundles 14A to 14D and to present them to the bundle carrier 5 in the next step, so that they are pushed into the appropriate opening 6.
- the third bundle removal wheel 10 (see Figure 8c ) is provided with a single group of bundle receiving notches 12B which serve to present two bundles of bristles consisting of the second type of bristle 22B to the corresponding openings 6 in the bundle carrier 5.
- the fourth bundle removal wheel 10 (see Figure 8d ) is provided with two groups of bundle receiving notches, namely a first group of smaller, approximately circular bundle receiving notches 12C and a second group of larger, approximately circular bundle receiving notches 12D.
- these cooperate with storage containers which contain the corresponding type of bristles, so that two groups of openings 6, which have a circular contour but different diameters, are provided with bundles of bristles 14C, 14D.
- the fifth bundle removal wheel 10 (see Figure 8e ) is provided with a single bundle receiving notch 12C, which has an elongated contour and provides the bundle carrier 5 with a bundle of bristles 14C with an elongated contour.
- the sixth bundle removal wheel 10 (see Figure 8f ) is provided on its outer circumference with two smaller bundle receiving notches 12C, which form two bundles of bristles 14C which are intended to be pushed into corresponding openings 6 on the bundle carrier 5.
- the seventh bundle removal wheel 10 (see Figure 8g ) is provided with two parallelogram-like bundle receiving notches 12A on its outer circumference. These serve to feed two bundles of bristles 14A to the corresponding openings 6 in the bundle carrier 5.
- the eighth bundle doffer wheel 10 is provided with two sets of bundle receiving notches, namely two triangular bundle receiving notches 12B and 12B two rectangular bundle receiving notches 12D. These provide the bundle carrier 5 with two sets of bristle bundles which consist of different bristles, namely two bristle bundles 14B which consist of the second bristle type 22B and two bristle bundles 14D which consist of the fourth bristle type 22D.
- the ninth and tenth bundle removal wheel 10 are not provided with any bundle receiving notch on their outer circumference, since with the eighth bundle removal wheel 10 all openings 6 of the bundle carrier 5 were already equipped with bundles of bristles.
- the bundle carriers 5, after they have been equipped with bundles of bristles, can be fed to a finishing station and a welding station.
- these stations are in Figure 7 Not shown.
- the brush manufacturing machine is very flexible, since many different types of bristle bundles can be fed to many different locations on a bundle carrier 5. If desired, a smaller or even a larger number of different types of bristles can be used than is shown in the embodiments. It is also possible to provide a larger number of groups of bundle receiving notches 12 on the outer circumference of a bundle removal wheel 10. If desired, the bundle removal wheels 10 can also have different diameters so that the bristle bundles can be fed to a specific point on the bundle carrier.
- the bundle carriers 5 in particular can be pivoted slightly relative to the bundle removal wheels 10 if bundles of bristles are to be inserted there at an angle, so that they should extend at an angle other than 90 ° with respect to a plane that is defined by the bundle carrier 5.
- the bundle remover is not designed here as a wheel, but as a slide.
- the bundle removal slide 10 is translationally displaceable, so it performs a reciprocating movement in the direction of the arrow P from FIG Figure 9a the end.
- Several bundle receiving notches 12 are provided on one of the longitudinal edges of the bundle removal slide 10 (see FIG Figure 9c ), which are equipped with bristles from a bristle storage container 20.
- the bundle removal slide 10 is arranged in such a way that the bundle receiving notches 12 lie opposite the bristle storage container 20 (see FIG Figure 9a ). Some of the bristles from the bristle storage container 20 enter the bundle receiving notches 12, so that bristle bundles 14 are correspondingly formed there with a cross section which corresponds to the contour of the bundle receiving notches 12.
- the bundle receiving notches 12 have a circular, an elongated, a triangular and again a circular cross section.
- the bundle removal slide 10 is adjusted translationally so that the bristle bundles 14 held in the bundle receiving notches 12 are suitably positioned relative to the bundle carrier 5 (see FIG Figure 9b ).
- the insertion aid 30 can also be used in the second embodiment, but is not shown here for the sake of greater clarity.
- the bundles of bristles 14 are pushed through the insertion device 40 out of the bundle receiving notches 12 and into the openings of the bundle carrier 5 (see FIG Figure 9c ).
- the bundle removal slide 10 then returns to the position shown in FIG Figure 9a The initial state shown, where it is again filled with bristles.
- the bundle carrier 5 is also suitably further adjusted so that a new bundle carrier 5 is presented to the bundle removal pusher 10.
- a bundle removal pusher 10 is used.
- the bundle removal slide 10 has not only a single group of bundle receiving notches 12, but two groups of bundle receiving notches.

Description
The invention relates to a brush manufacturing machine according to the preamble of
Various approaches and methods are known for inserting bristle bundles or tufts into a brush body. In particular in the case of brushes in which complex arrangements of bristle bundles are used, for example toothbrushes with differently oriented bristle bundles and bristle bundles made of different bristles, the introduction of the bristle bundles into the corresponding openings is quite complex.

The object of the invention is to enable brushes, in particular toothbrushes, to be manufactured reliably and yet flexibly at low cost.
To achieve this object, a brush manufacturing machine with the features of
The invention is based on the basic idea of using the bundle remover to preform two or more bristle bundles, in particular also with regard to the distance from one another. In this way, several bundles of bristles can be used directly and simultaneously in the bundle carrier.
Several bundle buyers are provided. In this way, on the one hand, the clock rate can be increased. On the other hand, this enables very complex opening patterns to be efficiently equipped on the bundle carrier.
According to one embodiment of the invention it is provided that the bundle remover is a bundle removal wheel. This can in particular be further adjusted in a single direction of rotation, so that several different bundle receiving notches can be provided along the circumference of the bundle removal wheel.
According to an alternative embodiment of the invention it is provided that the bundle remover is a translationally displaceable bundle removal slide. This results in a very compact structure.
According to a further alternative, it can be provided that the bundle remover is a back and forth rotationally adjustable bundle remover rocker. In this embodiment, a component that is known in its basic features and has therefore been tested can be used as the bundle collector.
It is provided that several holders are provided as well as a holder drive which can adjust the holder relative to the bundle remover. The holder drive ensures that the holders are correctly positioned relative to the bundle remover in order to be able to push a bundle of bristles located in the bundle remover into an opening provided for the bundle of bristles.
It is preferably provided that the holder drive is a holder indexing drive which further adjusts the holders evenly. In this way, there is little control effort.
In addition, in a variant of the invention, the holder is adjustably attached to the holder drive. In this way, the holder can be individually aligned relative to the bundle remover. This can be done by means of a holder positioning drive, both along the direction in which the holder is adjusted, as well as across it. It is also possible to pivot the holder so that bundles of bristles can be attached to the holder in different orientations.
It is also possible to individually position the holder relative to the bundle remover in that a bundle remover positioning drive is provided with which the bundle remover is adjusted relative to the holder or to the position of the holder. This has structural advantages, since the bundle removal positioning drive is basically designed to be stationary, while the holder positioning drive is provided on the holder drive so that it runs around the entire length.
If desired, the push-in device and other components that are involved in pushing the bundles into the openings of the bundle carrier can also be adjusted with the bundle removal positioning drive.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention it is provided that the bundle receiving notches differ from one another with regard to their contour and / or their cross section. In this way, different bundles of bristles can already be preformed in the bundle remover.
It is preferably provided that the bundle remover is provided with several groups of bundle receiving notches on its outer edge. In this way, the cycle frequency of the machine can be increased, since it is not necessary to adjust the bundle remover by a complete cycle between the insertion of two bundles of bristles, but only from one group of bundle receiving notches to the next.
It is preferably provided that the groups of bundle receiving notches differ from one another with regard to the contour of the bundle receiving notches, the cross section of the bundle receiving notches and / or the number of bundle receiving notches within a group. With different groups of bundle receiving notches on the bundle remover, very complex bundle patterns can be produced on the brush.
According to one embodiment of the invention it is provided that the bundle receiving notches have at least in part a non-circular contour. Such a contour enables rectangular, oval, triangular ones in the bundle remover or to pre-form other bundles of bristles, which are then introduced into openings in the holder assigned to them.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, several bristle storage containers are provided. As a result, a brush can be equipped with different bristles with little effort. "Different bristles" means that the bristles differ from one another with regard to their material, their color, their diameter and / or other physical properties.
An adjustment drive is preferably provided for the storage container, with which the bristle storage container can be adjusted relative to the bundle removers. The adjustment drive enables a bristle storage container, which is equipped with the desired type of bristles, to be suitably arranged on the bundle remover at the desired point in time.
According to one embodiment of the invention, a filling station is provided in order to fill the bristle storage container with bristles. This enables automated operation of the machine.
A welding station can also be provided in order to weld bristles. The bristles can either be welded to neighboring bristles and / or to the material of a holder so that they are firmly received in the holder.
A finishing station may also be provided to cut, dress and / or round the bristles. It is then no longer necessary to feed the holder with the bundles of bristles to a separate machine in which these steps are carried out.
In principle, bristles that are mechanically or chemically pre-pointed can also be used. Pre-rounded bristles can also be used. In these cases, there is no need for rounding in the finishing station.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, an insertion aid with at least one bundle guide opening is provided between the bundle remover and the holder. The introduction aid makes it easier to introduce the bundle of bristles from the bundle receiving notch into the opening of the holder.
The insertion aid can be used to "move" the bundles appropriately when they are pushed in, in order to compensate for an offset between the position of the bundle in the bundle remover and the position of the opening in the bundle holder. For example, a bundle guide opening can be used for this, which extends obliquely through the insertion aid.
The side of the bundle guide opening facing the bundle remover is adapted in terms of its contour and its cross section to the contour and the cross section of the corresponding bundle receiving notch. This ensures that the bundle of bristles can be pushed out of the bundle receiving notch into the bundle guide opening. The insertion of the bristle bundles can be assisted by providing an insertion bevel.
According to one embodiment of the invention, it can be provided that the side of the bundle guide opening facing away from the bundle collector has a contour which deviates from the contour on the side of the bundle guide opening facing the bundle collector. In this embodiment, the insertion aid is used to transform a bundle of bristles held in a bundle receiving notch, which has a cross section predetermined by the contour of the bundle receiving notch, into a bristle bundle with a different contour.
According to one embodiment of the invention, it can also be provided that the bundle guide opening extends at least on the side facing away from the bundle remover in a direction which deviates from the direction in which the bundle of bristles held in the bundle receiving notch extends. This embodiment is particularly advantageous when the opening to be filled in the holder is oriented obliquely to the direction in which the bundle of bristles is held in the bundle receiving notch. It is then not necessary to position the holder at a suitable angle so that the bundle of bristles can be pushed in, but the necessary deflection can take place directly by means of the bundle guide opening of the insertion aid.
It can also be provided that the insertion aid has two or more separate bundle guide openings on the side facing the bundle collector, which are brought together in a single bundle guide opening on the side facing away from the bundle collector. With this configuration can the insertion aid can be used to bring two bundles of bristles with preferably different bristles together to form a single bundle of bristles, which is then introduced into an associated opening in the holder.
The insertion aid can also have a large bundle guide opening in which several bundles are brought together, which are then pushed into a common opening in the bundle carrier.
According to one embodiment it is provided that the holder is fitted with different bundles of bristles one after the other, the holder being repositioned between the individual fitting processes. This ensures that the holder is optimally aligned for the bristle bundles to be introduced.
According to one embodiment it is provided that the holders are adjusted together relative to the bundle collectors, the distance between the individual bundle collectors differing slightly from the distance by which the holders are further adjusted at each step. In this embodiment, the further adjustment (indexing) of the holders results in little effort, since they are all further adjusted by the same distance. This can be achieved, for example, in that the holders are connected to one another. The openings arranged at different positions of the bundle carrier are "approached" in this embodiment in that the individual bundle collectors are positioned differently from the predetermined position of the bundle carrier that the bundle carrier has when it is positioned on the respective bundle collector by means of the holder.
The bundle removers can be arranged on a bundle removal positioning drive with which the bundle removers (and possibly other components such as the insertion device and also the insertion aid) can be aligned to the desired position.
According to an alternative embodiment, it is provided that the holders are adjusted together by means of the holder drive, but are additionally individually positioned individually relative to the corresponding bundle remover, for example by means of a holder positioning drive. In this embodiment, each bundle carrier is positioned on the corresponding bundle remover in such a way that the The opening to be fitted is suitably aligned relative to the bundle of bristles located in the corresponding bundle receiving notch.
According to a preferred embodiment it is provided that at least two bundle removers are provided, each of which has at least two bundle receiving notches, the bundles of bristles located in the first bundle receiving notch of the first and second bundle removers being pushed into an associated opening of the bundle carrier at the same time, whereupon the bundle removers so can be further adjusted so that the bundle carrier is assigned a second bundle receiving notch of the first and second bundle remover, the bristle bundles of the second bundle receiving notches being pushed into the next opening of the bundle carrier at the same time. The term "simultaneously" does not mean that the two bundles of bristles must be pushed in at exactly the same point in time (in the sense of the same fraction of a second), but rather within the same cycle or step, i.e. between the further adjustment of the bundle removers from one position to the next.

In a departure from “straight”
