Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a roof window, that is to say a window intended to be integrated into a roof and commonly referred to as a recessed window.
  • Such a roof window consists in a known manner of a perimetric frame, integrated into the roof structure and on which is posited in principle an opening incorporating a glazing to bring into the room in which is installed the window of roof, natural clarity, outside fresh air when the opening is open.
  • the document JP H05 816 U discloses a window according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • a roof window Ft in a roof T by having on each side of the longitudinal members L of the frame Cs of the window, and in the direction of the slope of the roof, two gutters Cn designed to collect the rainwater streaming on the roof and coming especially from the upper part of the window.
  • the slates Ad are arranged to overlap on the roof so as to cover laterally the outer edge of the two gutters Cn.
  • the movable frame of the opening ov is bordered by a perimeter return which covers the two inner edges of the two gutters Cn.
  • the slates Ad are posed in door to false on the outer edge of the two gutters Cn while they overlap in the direction of the slope of the roof so that they are only applied punctually on said outer edge, and can thus crack, break during the day / night cycles, seasons.
  • the sealing of slates at this location is achieved by a grout Jt made of cement and eventually disintegrated with time allowing moisture to seep under the slates.
  • the Cn gutters are wide enough to collect rainwater during severe weather, which widens the width of the window and makes it less discreet.
  • each node Nq is formed of a folded plate having an L configuration with a rising vertical branch Bv adjacent a lateral side of a frame L of the frame Cs and a horizontal branch Bh facing outwards and which is covered mainly by slates bordering laterally said frame.
  • the rainwater runs off on the uncovered part of the horizontal branches of the two Nq nozzles.
  • the seal is obtained by a bed of mortar, for example cement-based and lime, interposed between the horizontal branch of the noodles and slates.
  • the movable frame of the opening ov is bordered by a perimeter return which covers the two inner edges of the two rising vertical branches Bv Nq.
  • the slates are no longer mounted cantilevered.
  • the width of the window is reduced compared to that described previously.
  • the vertical branch Bv must have a recommended height h minimum of four cm, height measured above the slates so that the runoff can flow properly on the Nq nozzles, during severe weather, that is to say say without being able to pass over the longitudinal members L of the chassis Cs. This results in a projecting height of the window above the roof large enough to make the presence of the window unobtrusive.
  • a roof window comprising a fixed frame including, in particular, a bottom rail;
  • a runoff plate is arranged below the lower cross member, in the position of installation of said window, a clamp being fixed transversely on said plate of runoff for retaining cover elements or a sheet metal plate for masking said runoff plate.
  • the runoff plate disposed below the fixed frame of the window can thus be easily hidden in a discrete manner in the roof, in particular by covering elements, making harmonious the embedding of the window in the roof.
  • the clamp is fixed on the runoff plate, via a profile, these two components comprising means for adjusting the height position of said clamp.
  • the clamp is formed of a section defined by two upper and lower jaws joined by a back wall and the profile comprises a fixing portion on the runoff plate, the fixing portion being extended by a retaining wall against which can slide the back wall.
  • the height adjustment of the clamp is achieved by a simple sliding along the retaining profile.
  • a return wall runs along the upper jaw, then extends perpendicularly through a rear wall, arranged parallel to the back wall, the upper jaw, the back wall adjacent respectively to two other walls, for to give the gripper the rigidity required for its use, the low jaw made of a single less rigid wall being one that can deform vis-à-vis the upper jaw to accept and pinch the cover elements, the wall of retainer of the profile being inserted between the back wall and the rear wall of the clamp.
  • the design of the clamp preferably made by folding a metal sheet is simple to manufacture. Its high jaw which remains in practice immobile can be shaped to remain discreet on the roof.
  • the runoff plate consists of a return wall intended to abut the outer face of the bottom rail, extended by at least two walls arranged so that their upper faces can form a downward slope, in the position of laying of the window, to divert runoff flowing under said window.
  • the cover elements can be pinched in the clamp and rest by their other edges on the last deflection wall where they can be glued.
  • the fixed frame is provided with two longitudinal longitudinal members, and two cleats are fixed externally and laterally to the two longitudinal longitudinal members, two gutters being fixed on said two cleats, provision considered in the laying position of said window, the window further comprising notches, each notquet comprising a plate intended to be covered by covering elements of the roof, such as slates, tiles, said plate being extended by a lateral edge by an overlapping means designed to cover the free edge of the outer side wall constituting the two gutters.
  • the height of the projecting portion of the window above the roof can be reduced to a minimum by adjusting the height position of the two cleats against the longitudinal longitudinal members of the frame. The window remains discreet on the roof.
  • a roof T is presented on the Fig. 3 , in which a roof window 100 has been recessed.
  • the roof T is composed in particular of unrepresented faults supporting Cv chevrons.
  • Lt battens are fixed at regular intervals on the chevrons Cv.
  • Roof covering elements, such as Ad slates, are represented in a few copies to facilitate the reading of this Fig. 3 . They are fixed by hooks on Lt battens or on stiles.
  • the roof window 100 comprises a fixed frame Cf secured to the roof T and in which an opening leaf Ov is movably mounted between a release / opening position with respect to the fixed frame Cf and a covering position of said frame.
  • the opening ov can be of the projection or tilting type.
  • the fixed frame Cf consists of two high Th and low Tb cross members joined at their ends by two longitudinal longitudinal beams Lg and Ld right.
  • Two cleats Ts are joined laterally and outside the two longitudinal longitudinal members Lg and Ld. They are provided with mounting brackets Pf for fixing the roof window on the roof structure and in particular on its rafters.
  • the fixing tabs Pf present on this Fig. 4 an angle geometry with a vertical face fixed on the outer face of the cleats Ts and a horizontal face intended to be fixed on the upper face of said rafters.
  • Two gutters 120 are respectively disposed on the two cleats Ts as suggested by the arrows F on the exploded view of this Fig. 4 .
  • the two gutters 120 are intended to collect and evacuate sandstone from the slope of the roof runoff running down the roof, laterally to the window and deviated by the upper part of said window.
  • Each gutter 120 is formed of a profile having, viewed from one end, a U-shaped geometry with an intermediate wall 122 extended at its two edges by two lateral walls, one external 123 and the other inner 124.
  • Notables 140 are used to channel in the two gutters 120, the runoff flowing laterally to the window.
  • the noquet 140 presented consists of a flat plate 142 extended by a lateral edge by an overlapping means 150 adapted to be capped from above, in the position of installation of the roof window, the free edge facing upward from the outer side wall 123 of a corresponding gutter 120.

  • the second face 153 may have a rounded profile.
  • the flat plate 142 is covered at the end of the integration of the window 100 in the roof, by the slates Ad forming roof for the roof.
  • the overlapping means 150 covers the free edge turned upwardly of the outer wall 123 of the gutter 120, so that the overflow water from the slates Ad, the rainwater falling laterally to the window, the rainwater diverted by the high part of said window, can only transit in the two gutters 120.
  • the third face 154 is longer than the first face 152 by extending beyond the plate 142 to dive inside the corresponding gutter to channel the overflow water in said gutter. See in this regard the detailed view of the Fig. 5 .
  • the two free edges of the outer 123 and inner side walls 124 are folded towards the inside of the gutter 120 to prevent splashing back, in heavy rain, outside said gutter.
  • the movable frame of the opening leaf Ov is bordered by a perimetrical return which covers, in the closed position of said opening, in particular the two edges of the inner side walls 124 of the two gutters 120.
  • Each noquet 140 is advantageously made of aluminum foil which is folded in several stages to give it the geometry that it displays on the Fig. 6 .
  • the height of the overlapping means 150 is calculated as a function of the height of the roof covering, that is to say precisely according to the thickness of the slates, the tiles when they are asked. It can be used for this purpose and with reference to Fig. 8 a tool Ot consisting of two plates Pq spaced from the width of the overlapping means 150 of the notch 140 and in which two stops Bt adjustable according to the height of the roof covering, allow to define by folding, the height of the means overlap 150 by folding the flat plate 142, as suggested by the arrow I.
  • This tool can advantageously be used on the installation site of the roof window.
  • the flat plate 142 is advantageously folded by pinching it between two sheets.
  • the overlapping means 150 is wedged longitudinally by two stops disposed between the two plates Pq at their two ends.
  • noets 140 are preferably used on each side of the roof window 100. It is thus possible to install roof windows of different heights using a variable number of nozzles.
  • the notches 140 are capped during their installation on the roof by local overlap of their overlap means 150.
  • the width of the overlap means 150 is variable. Thus, its width L measured in its lower part with reference to the position of installation of the notches, is greater than the width 1 measured in its upper part, to obtain a mutual overlap properly adjusted and without gap between two noodles to follow.
  • the evacuation of runoff from the top of the upper part of the window 100 is carried out via a transverse gutter Gt should be positioned against the high cross Th of the window. It is connected at its ends by two sections Tc of gutters that should fit into the upper part of the two gutters 120 as suggested by the arrows G.
  • Tc of gutters that should fit into the upper part of the two gutters 120 as suggested by the arrows G.
  • a cover plate Pr bordered by two lateral wings A1 which descend on both sides of the window, makes it possible to mask the gutter Gt and its two connection sections Tc.
  • the lower part of the two gutters 120 is connected to two flaps Ba which frame a runoff plate Ps which should be arranged against the lower crossbar Tb of the fixed frame Cf of the window 100.
  • the two gutters 120 are connected in two corridors Cl shaped in the upper part of the two flaps Ba, as suggested by the arrows H. These are preferably made of lead sheets.
  • a gripper Pn is fixed transversely on the runoff plate Ps, via a retaining profile (not detectable), to retain slates Ad below the lower part of the window to make its integration the most discreet possible in the roof.
  • the clamp Pn consists of a U-shaped profile shaped so as to have two upper jaws M1 and low M2 arranged vis-à-vis and between which are inserted to be retained by pinching the high slices of the slates Ad, the two jaws M1 and M2 being joined by a back wall M3.
  • the constituent section of the gripper Pn extends beyond the jaw M1 by a return wall P1 which runs along the jaw M1, then extends perpendicularly through a rear wall P2, arranged parallel to the back wall M3.
  • the jaw M1, the back wall M3 then respectively adjoining two other walls, thus give the clamp Pn the rigidity required for its use.
  • the jaw M2 made of a single less rigid wall is, given the nature of the material of the clamp Pn, the one that can deform vis-à-vis the upper jaw M1 to accept and pinch Ad cover elements
  • the gripper Pn is in a preferred mode of manufacture, made in a sheet of sheet metal shaped by folding.
  • the constituent wall of the lower jaw M2 is folded towards the jaw M1 in its rest state. It presents a geometry in circumflex accent so that its free edge can open by departing by the introduction of a cover element.
  • the runoff plate Ps consists of a return wall Pt intended to abut the outer face of the bottom rail of the roof window, extended almost perpendicularly by a wall Dv1, followed obliquely by a second wall Dv2, itself extended obliquely from a wall Dv3.
  • the walls Dv are arranged so that their upper faces can form a downward slope, in the position of installation of the window, to divert the runoff flowing under said window.
  • the angle formed between the upper faces of the wall Dv1 and the wall Dv2 is less than 180 °, of the order of 160 °.
  • the angle formed between the upper faces of the wall Dv2 and the wall Dv3 is greater than 180 °, of the order of 200 °. Cover elements retained in the gripper Pn can thus rest locally on the last wall deviation Dv3.
  • the wall Dv1 is optional, the return wall Pt then connecting directly to the wall Dv2.
  • this clamp Pn is retained on the runoff plate Ps via a profile Po fixed on an upper part of said runoff plate Ps.
  • the retaining profile Po consists of a fixing portion Pi on the runoff plate Ps, extended by a retaining wall Pu of the clamp Pn.
  • the retaining wall Pu is formed of a wall which can be housed between the back wall M3 and the rear wall P2 of the gripper Pn.
  • the arrow K shows on the Fig. 9b the sliding movement of the clamp Pn on the retaining wall Pu of the profile Po, allowing its adjustment in height.
  • this gripper Pn it is thus possible to adjust the height of this gripper Pn relative to the runoff plate Ps to fix roofing elements (slates, tiles) so that they are coplanar with the other covering elements surrounding the roof.
  • a binder, such as putty, is introduced into the gripper Pn, and then the high edges of the cover elements are inserted into said gripper to retain them by clamping and gluing.
  • the fixing portion Pi of the profile Po is formed of a wall or a succession of shaped walls and fixed (s), for example by gluing, on the walls Pt, Dv1 and Dv2 of the runoff plate Ps.
  • slates Ad are pinched and retained in the clamp Pn.
  • the height position of the latter is adjusted so that said slates Ad can be positioned at the same level as Adl side slates, fixed on each side of the window, in principle by retaining hooks on battens or on battens constituting the frame of the roof. This gives a window integrated harmoniously and discreetly in the part below its fixed frame.
  • a covering profile Pv is mounted to overlap on the bottom rail Tb of a roof window. It extends outwards and downwards so as to press the return wall Pt of the run-off plate Ps and, with reference to the Fig. 9b , the end wall constituting the fixing portion Pi of the retaining profile Po, against the bottom rail Tb.
  • the cover profile Pv thus makes it possible to seal the runner plate Ps on said low crossbar Tb of the fixed frame of the window.
  • the recessed position of the roof window 100 is adjusted by the setting of the position of the brackets Ts on the longitudinal members Lg and Ld of the fixed frame Cf. This position is defined in particular by the thickness of the window, the thickness roofing elements (slates, tiles).
  • the installation of the window 100 of the invention in a roof is implemented in the following manner.
  • the two gutters 120 are fixed on the two cleats Ts.
  • the position of the cleats Ts is adjusted according to the thickness of the window, the thickness of the covering means.
  • the fixed frame Cs of the window is placed in a roof opening by fixing it with the fixing brackets Pf, for example, on the rafters Cv.
  • the opening is mounted in the fixed frame Cf.
  • the studs 140 are placed from top to bottom on each side of the frame Cs of the window so that their overlapping means 150 cover the free edges of the outer walls 123 of the two gutters 120.
  • the slates constituting the cover are laid.
  • Cover elements underlying the window are mounted in the gripper Pn. A sheet metal plate can still be used to replace these underlying cover elements.
  • the construction of the window of the invention makes it possible to fit it judiciously into a roof, that is to say so that it barely protrudes from the covering elements of the roof.
  • the part underlying its lower part can also be masked by cover elements or by a mask formed of a metal plate.
  • the cover of the roof T is made with Tl tiles.
  • the overlapping means 150 of the lugs 140 covers the free edge of the outer lateral walls 123 of the gutter 120.
  • the seating wall of the lug 140 is defined to receive a corresponding tile T1.
  • She presents on this Fig. 11 a convex wall 142 'with lateral projection, in the pose position of the notquet on the roof.
  • This convex wall 142 ' is visible distinctly on the Fig. 12 . It serves to perfect the seal between a tile and another tile of lower rank. It is in principle flat and then shaped by laying said tile over it.
  • the latch 140 is preferably constructed in two parts, the seat wall 142 'for a tile, made of a flexible sheet of metal, such as lead, aluminum and which is laterally bordered by a rising vertical wall 143 which goes up inside the first face 152 of the overlap means 150.
