Inner boot for an item of sports footwear, comprising at least one outer layer (4) consisting of a lower part (1) and an upper part (2), and comprising a padding layer (3) having at least two elements, respectively an upper element (32) and a lower element (31), the upper end of the lower element of said padding layer (3) being positioned above a region of rotation of the heel when the foot is introduced into the inner boot, and extending at least above a connection region (12) between the lower part and the upper part of the said outer layer (4) of the inner boot, the inner boot including an articulation region close to the connection region (12) between the lower part (1) and the upper part (2) of the outer layer (4).
  2. Inner boot according to claim 1, characterized in that the upper end of the lower element (31) is positioned at a height of between 1/2 and 2/3 of the total height of the inner boot.
  3. Inner boot according to either of the preceding claims, characterized in that the upper part of the lower element (31) is formed by a tongue (31a).
  4. Inner boot according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the said lower element (31) is made of an elastically deformable material while the upper element (32) is made of a material of greater hardness.
  5. Inner boot according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the said upper element (32) and said lower element (31) of the padding layer (3) consist of contiguous parts.
  6. Inner boot according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the said padding layer (3) is glued to the inner wall of the outer layer (4) of the inner boot.
  7. Inner boot according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that it further includes an inner covering layer (5), the padding layer (3) being interposed between this inner layer (5) and the outer layer (4).
  8. Inner boot according to the preceding claim, characterized in that the inner covering layer (5) consists of a plurality of parts including an intermediate band (512) covering the upper end of the lower element (31) of the padding layer (3).
  9. Inner boot according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the said articulation region is a folding region (13) provided with a series of deformable strips (11).
  10. Inner boot according to the preceding claim, characterized in that the lower element (31) covers the series of strips (11).
  11. Item of footwear equipped with an inner boot according to any of the preceding claims.
