Whilst painted mild steel could be used for most fabricated parts, aluminium could be used for adjustable or removable shelves to reduce their weight and so to make it easier to handle them manually.
  • a potentially bulky and heavy ducted shelf is broken down into easily-handled elements that can, in effect, be hung sequentially at a desired height and location on a wall of the display appliance. Placing the lower support creates a platform for the subsequently-added duct elements. This eases the installation operation, reduces the risk of injury to workers or damage to equipment and preferably avoids the need for additional manpower or lifting apparatus.
  • Disassembling the shelf is a simple reverse process that enables easy access to and replacement of components. Disassembly also divides the weight of the shelf into easily-handled components that can be reassembled quickly at a desired alternative height or position.
  • One or both of the side walls of the cabinet could be transparent to enhance visibility of the items displayed in the product display spaces, in which case the side walls are suitably of tempered glass and double- or triple-glazed to maintain a degree of insulation.
  • the appliance need not have an internal refrigerator engine if cold air is produced elsewhere, for example in a remote fan coil unit, and pumped to the appliance.
  • the refrigerator engine can be included in the cabinet as an integral unit or cooling can be supplied remotely from a typical supermarket refrigeration pack unit. Local cooling necessitates a drainage system for condensate water.
  • a return duct in a ducted shelf could be inclined downwardly and rearwardly to fall toward the rear of the cabinet, where it may lead water to a drainage system provided for the evaporator to reject water from the cabinet.
  • cooling coils and fans may be located behind the cells but could instead be situated to the top, bottom or sides of the cells.

Claims (15)

  1. Ensemble étagère à gaine (20) comprenant :
    au moins un support (68) qui peut être mis en prise avec des formations de support d'un appareil d'affichage pour maintenir l'ensemble étagère à une hauteur souhaitée contre une paroi (26) de l'appareil d'affichage ;
    un élément de gaine d'alimentation (22, 50) comprenant une grille de refoulement d'air (36) pour projeter de l'air froid à l'avant de l'élément de gaine d'alimentation sous forme de rideau d'air (34) et un raccord d'alimentation (54) pour une communication avec une gaine montante d'alimentation au niveau du bord arrière de l'élément de gaine d'alimentation ; et
    un élément de gaine de reprise (24, 52) comprenant une grille de reprise d'air (38) pour recevoir de l'air à l'avant de l'élément de gaine de reprise à partir d'un rideau d'air et un raccord de reprise (56) pour une communication avec une gaine montante de reprise au niveau du bord arrière de l'élément de gaine de reprise ;
    dans lequel l'élément de gaine d'alimentation et l'élément de gaine de reprise sont séparés l'un de l'autre et sont séparés du support et peuvent être positionnés sur celui-ci, l'élément de gaine de reprise pouvant être placé amovible au-dessus de l'élément de gaine d'alimentation, les éléments de gaine étant alors supportés par le support.
  2. Ensemble selon la revendication 1, comprenant en outre un composant d'étagère supérieure, facultativement dans lequel le composant d'étagère supérieure comprend une plaque supérieure de l'étagère qui recouvre les éléments de gaine.
  3. Ensemble selon la revendication 2, dans lequel le composant d'étagère supérieure comprend une bande avant d'étagère qui est isolée, chauffée ou de faible conductivité thermique et est agencée pour couvrir un bord avant d'au moins l'un des éléments de gaine.
  4. Ensemble selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes et comprenant des supports supérieur et inférieur séparés, chacun pouvant être mis en prise séparément avec des formations de support pour maintenir l'ensemble étagère à une hauteur souhaitée contre une paroi de l'appareil d'affichage, dans lequel les éléments de gaine sont séparés du support inférieur et du support supérieur et peuvent être positionnés entre ceux-ci, les éléments de gaine étant alors supportés par le support inférieur et retenus par le support supérieur.
  5. Ensemble selon la revendication 4, dans lequel le support inférieur et le support supérieur peuvent être mis en prise séparément et successivement avec les formations de support lors de l'assemblage de la structure contre la paroi, facultativement dans lequel l'élément de gaine d'alimentation et l'élément de gaine de reprise sont dans une relation en face à face en couches et sont maintenus ensemble par des supports supérieur et inférieur.
  6. Ensemble selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, dans lequel des supports supérieurs pouvant être positionnés au-dessus des éléments de gaine et/ou des supports inférieurs pouvant être positionnés en dessous des éléments de gaine comprennent des éléments d'étanchement agencés pour assurer un étanchement contre la paroi de l'appareil d'affichage, facultativement dans lequel l'élément ou chaque élément d'étanchement est agencé pour assurer un étanchement contre au moins l'un des éléments de gaine.
  7. Ensemble selon la revendication 6, dans lequel l'élément ou chaque élément d'étanchement comporte une paroi qui s'étend verticalement jusqu'à un point qui permet le maintien de l'étanchement contre la paroi de l'appareil d'affichage si un support est mis en prise avec des formations de support à un niveau différent sur la paroi.
  8. Unité d'affichage à rideau d'air d'étagère à gaine, comprenant au moins un ensemble étagère à gaine de l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes.
  9. Unité selon la revendication 8, comprenant une armoire à façade ouverte ayant un espace d'affichage délimité par une paroi verticale, cette paroi étant disposée entre l'espace d'affichage et des gaines montantes pour l'alimentation et la reprise d'air ; dans laquelle :
    l'étagère à gaine peut être positionnée sélectivement dans l'espace d'affichage à différentes hauteurs par rapport à la paroi verticale et communique avec les gaines montantes par la mise en prise de raccords de l'étagère par l'intermédiaire d'orifices dans la paroi verticale ;
    les orifices sont plus profonds verticalement que les raccords de l'étagère, de sorte que l'étagère puisse être repositionnée verticalement avec les raccords restants en communication avec les gaines montantes par l'intermédiaire des orifices après un repositionnement ; et
    un élément d'étanchement peut être repositionné avec l'étagère pour s'étendre entre l'étagère et la paroi verticale, l'élément d'étanchement chevauchant des bords des orifices pour obturer des portions des orifices non fermées par les raccords.
  10. Unité selon la revendication 9 et comprenant un élément d'étanchement supérieur s'étendant au-dessus de l'étagère jusqu'au-dessus de bords supérieurs des orifices et un élément d'étanchement inférieur s'étendant en dessous de l'étagère jusqu'en dessous de bords inférieurs des orifices.
  11. Unité selon la revendication 9 ou la revendication 10 et étant agencée de sorte qu'une mise en prise d'un support avec une paroi verticale appuie l'élément d'étanchement contre la paroi verticale.
  12. Procédé d'assemblage d'un ensemble étagère à gaine selon la revendication 1 dans un appareil d'affichage, comprenant :
    la fixation d'un premier support (68) à une paroi verticale (26) qui délimite un espace d'affichage de l'appareil ; et
    le placement d'un élément de gaine d'alimentation (22, 50) et d'un élément de gaine de reprise (24, 52) sur le premier support fixé à la paroi.
  13. Procédé selon la revendication 12, comprenant en outre la fixation d'un second support à la paroi verticale pour retenir les éléments de gaine sur le premier support.
  14. Procédé selon la revendication 12 ou la revendication 13, comprenant :
    (i) le couplage des éléments de gaine aux gaines montantes de l'appareil par l'intermédiaire d'orifices dans la paroi verticale ; et/ou
    (ii) l'empilement des éléments de gaine d'alimentation et de reprise sur le premier support avant la fixation du second support à la paroi verticale ; et/ou
    (iii) la réalisation de joints d'étanchéité entre le premier support et la paroi verticale et entre le premier support et l'élément de gaine d'alimentation.
  15. Procédé selon la revendication 13, partie (iii), comprenant en outre la réalisation de joints d'étanchéité entre le second support et l'élément de gaine de reprise, et entre le second support et la paroi verticale, facultativement dans lequel lesdits joints d'étanchéité sont réalisés par l'assemblage d'un support et d'un élément de gaine ensemble sur la paroi verticale.
