Dafür haben jeweils der Stecker 2 und die Buchse 3 zwei mit einem Innengewinde versehene Schraubenlöcher 6, 7, 8, 9. Die jeweilige Anzahl der Schraubenlöcher richtet sich nach der Art und dem Einsatzgebiet des Verbinders. Die verwendeten Schrauben sind vorzugsweise Scherschrauben, sodaß die jeweils überstehenden Teile der Schrauben nach dem Festschrauben der Leiter abgebrochen werden können und man eine gleichmäßig rohrförmige Verbinderoberfläche erhält. Die Öffnungen 4, 5 des Steckers 2 und der Buchse 3, in welche die abisolierten Leiterenden eingeführt werden, weisen jeweils ring- oder spiralförmig angeordnete, spitz zulaufende Vorsprünge 13, 14 auf, die eventuell vorhandene Oxidschichten auf den abisolierten Leitern aufbrechen und so den elektrischen Widerstand zwischen Leitern und Verbinderteilen 2, 3 verringern.
