Sobald eine entsprechend groß bemessene Spannkraft durch die Spannschraube 19 auf den U-förmig ausgestalteten Bereich der Verbindungsschiene 14 einwirkt, entsteht eine kraft- und formschlüssige Wirkverbindung zwischen der Verbindungsschiene 14 und der Tragschiene 6, denn zum einen werden die gegenüberliegenden freien Enden der Verbindungsschiene 14 auf die Innenseite der Schienenführung 12 gedrückt, so dass diese nicht mehr relativ in Längsrichtung 5 der Geländerbrüstung 2 bewegbar sind, und zum anderen entsteht eine Art Verzahnung zwischen der Verbindungsschiene 14 und der Schienenführung 12 der Tragschiene 6 in vertikaler Richtung. Folglich ist die Verbindungsschiene 14 in sämtlichen Bewegungsrichtungen fest mit der Tragschiene 6 entweder kraftschlüssig oder formschlüssig verbunden.     - a connecting rail (14) facing towards the underside (11) of the carrier rail (6) and connected to it,
    characterised in that,
