Abstract

The invention relates to a finishing accessory (1) which enables a finishing coupling to be formed between two surfaces (S1; S2), and includes an one-piece linear part (10) having a longitudinal axis (A), which is deformable in a plane (X, Y) perpendicular to the longitudinal axis (A) thereof, such that the finishing accessory (1) can be deformed in at least one coupling configuration.

The present invention relates to a new finishing accessory adapted to form a connection between two surfaces, and particularly relates to the field of interior decoration.

Prior art

In the particular case of laying flooring, floating or gluing, wood or the like, or the installation of flooring type vinyl, carpet or tiles, it is common to use different types of finishing accessories of wood, or the like, of plastic or metal, which may or may not be covered with a decorative film, in order to make aesthetic fittings, for example between two contiguous and disjointed floor coverings, or between a floor covering and the floor, or between a floor covering and a wall.

There are also other types of finishing accessories which are adapted to form a connection between two surfaces, among which may be mentioned by way of non-limiting and non-exhaustive examples: the baseboards which are adapted to make a connection aesthetic between a wall and a floor covering or the floor; finishing moldings which are adapted to provide an aesthetic connection between a ceiling and a wall; the picture rails; the nosings that are adapted to achieve an aesthetic connection between the top of the step and the riser.

Finishing accessories for making aesthetic connections between two surfaces, and for example threshold bars, are described in particular in French patent applications FR 2 737 237, FR 2 848 234, FR 2 695 671, FR 2 783 854. and in US Pat. No. 6,745,534.

In the abovementioned publications FR 2 848 234, FR 2 695 671, FR 2 783 854, and US 6 745 534, the finishing accessory can be fixed between the two surfaces to be connected with a slight angular displacement to compensate for differences in level between the two surfaces. However, the technical solutions proposed in these publications are not adapted to reliably and mechanically solid up differences in level between the two surfaces that can be very different from one application to another. The technical solutions proposed in these publications are therefore "mono-function", that is to say adapted to form a finishing connection between two surfaces in a range of level differences between the surfaces to be connected which is very limited.

The technical solutions proposed in these publications require in addition the implementation of a mounting rail which must be fixed between the two surfaces to be connected, and for example which must be fixed in the ground between two surface coverings to be connected.

To date, we have already proposed finishing accessories that are modular and "multifunctional". For example, in international patent applications WO 2006/074824 and WO 2006/079468, multifunction finishing accessories for floor covering are proposed, comprising different modules which are covered by a decorative film, and which are separable, after cutting of the decorative film, so that the finishing accessory is configurable for use in different finishing functions, and in particular a junction function between two floor coverings, or a stop function or a level catch function between a floor covering and floor or other floor covering of different thickness.

The function of junction between two floor coverings is usually carried out by means of a linear profile having in cross section mainly a T shape, with a central foot enabling the junction profile between the two facing surfaces to be fixed, and two wings. overlap that extend laterally on both sides of the central foot, which are adapted to each cover an underlying part of a coating. When the floor covering is thin, the T-shaped function profile can also be used as a tie bar between said coating and a portion of bare floor without coating.

With multifunction finishing accessories, of the type of those described for example in international patent applications WO 2006/074824 and WO 2006/079468, the stop function between a floor covering and a wall is obtained by means of the profile of aforementioned T-shaped junction and a complementary linear portion underlying one of the lateral flanges of the T-junction profile.

The various portions of the multifunction accessories described in international patent applications WO 2006/074824 and WO 2006/079468, and in particular their central portion T-shaped, are constituted by massive and thick profiles, generally made of wood, unsuitable for manufacture. plastic, and in particular extruded plastic.

International patent application WO 2006/1 16780 overcomes this disadvantage by providing a multifunction finishing accessory for performing the functions of transition element, threshold element and stop element. This finishing accessory comprises a main cover profile on which additional lateral profiles are adapted to fit together. More specifically, the main profile comprises a plate and a central fixing foot, the plate forming two lateral wings on either side of the fixing foot.

Each additional lateral profile comprises a portion forming a longitudinal clip which is able to deform elastically, and wherein a wing of said main cover profile can be fitted with elastic clamping, so as to form a finishing accessory to perform the functions of threshold element or stop element. When the main cover profile is used alone, it allows the realization of the transition element function between two floor coverings.

Whatever the variant embodiment, the finishing accessories for flooring described in this international patent application WO 2006/1 16780 have at least the disadvantage of lacking strength and robustness. Indeed, the assembly and maintenance of an additional profile on the main profile by simple elastic clamping does not allow to maintain sufficiently reliable the additional profile on the main profile, especially when the additional profile is subjected to efforts laterally and away from the main profile.

Objectives of the invention

An object of the invention is to provide a new finishing accessory which makes it possible to form a finishing connection between two surfaces, which is easily and robustly adaptable so as to make up, if necessary, differences in level between two surfaces.

FIG. 1 shows an example of a finishing accessory 1 comprising a one-piece linear piece 10 with a longitudinal axis A extending longitudinally in the Z direction.

The one-piece piece 10 is constituted by a profile having in cross section a substantially T-shaped profile with a central leg 104 extended laterally on either side in the upper part by two rigid lateral wings 101 and 102, of small thickness, in the extension of one another. The wing 101 and the foot 104 form a non-deformable rigid assembly.

The upper face 10a of the one-piece piece 10 is formed by the upper faces of the two lateral wings 101 and 102 and forms a continuous and smooth surface. This upper face 10a of the one-piece piece

10 constitutes the apparent face of the finishing accessory 1, that is to say the part of the finishing accessory which is visible once the finishing accessory installed as a finishing connection between two surfaces S1 and S2.

In the particular example shown, this upper face 10a of the one-piece piece 10 is slightly curved and convex.

The one-piece piece 10 is deformable, preferably elastically, in a plane (X, Y) perpendicular to its longitudinal axis A, so that the finishing accessory 1 can be deformed in several different connection configurations respectively corresponding to differences in level E different between the two surfaces S1, S2 to be connected (Figures 5, 6 and 7).

In the examples illustrated in the accompanying figures, this deformability is obtained by connecting the two wings 101 and 102 by a junction 100 of thinner thickness e. In another variant, the locking means may comprise two male-type locking parts. It is possible, for example, to use only the male part 1030a with the lower part 1031a of the jaw 1031, the upper part 1031 of the jaw 1031 being eliminated. In Figures 1 and 2, the one-piece piece 10 is in its initial state and is not undeformed. In this initial configuration in the undeformed state, the end edges 101b and 102b of the two wings 101 and 102 of the finishing accessory 1 are substantially positioned at the same level, so that the finishing accessory can be used as a finishing connection between two substantially coplanar surfaces S1 and S2 (FIG. 4).

Whatever the connection configuration of FIGS. 4 to 7, the lower face 101 a of the lateral flange 101 is intended to be laid flat in contact with one of the two surfaces to be connected (FIGS. 4 to 7). The other lateral flange 102 is intended to be placed, at least at its end, in contact with the other surface to be connected S2.

In the particular example of FIGS. 1 and 2, the finishing accessory also comprises a gluing strip 1 1, which extends longitudinally in the direction Z.

The lower face 101a of the lateral wing 101 further comprises a longitudinal recess 101c which is adapted to form a housing to the adhesive strip January 1.

The stop lugs 1032 make it possible to lock the locking tab 1030a in position in the locking groove 1031b, preventing it from being withdrawn from the groove without hindering its further penetration into the locking groove. Once the finishing accessory 1 has been deformed in the connection configuration of FIGS. 5, 6 or 7, it remains blocked in this deformed configuration by the detents 1032.

Depending on its geometry and the deformability of the one-piece part 10, the finishing accessory can advantageously be used to make up for differences in level between two surfaces S1 and S2 in a range of level E range that can be extended.

It should also be emphasized that in the implementations of Figures 4 to 7, the finishing accessory 1 of the invention does not require ground fixing and is supported only by the two surfaces S1 and S2. This advantageously avoids the implementation and attachment to the ground of an additional fastening interface of the type of U-shaped fastening and adjustment rail or equivalent. It is nevertheless possible in another implementation variant to use the finishing accessory of the invention with an additional fixing interface, the type of U-shaped fastening and adjustment rail or equivalent.
