Definitions
- the invention relates to a shower tray unit with a tray body having an edge reinforcement on the underside and a mounting frame which is intended to support the tray body, the mounting frame being arranged on the underside of the tub body and connected to the edge reinforcement, and a manufacturing method therefor.
- a prefabricated tub support made of rigid foam is used, which is placed at the installation site and onto which the actual tub body, consisting of plastic, is placed.
- a pedestal typically made of metal, is used.
- the pedestal is usually first placed in the intended installation location, where the tub body is then placed. It is also known to connect the tub body to the pedestal on site and then to position both at the installation site.
- One variant is to fix the pedestal to the tub body with double-sided adhesive tape and then screw it to a floor board of the same.
- the pedestal usually has height-adjustable feet so that the installation height can be easily varied and unevenness or a slope in the floor can be compensated for.
- the tub body is usually shaped like a shell from relatively thin plastic material, it is often in the central area - under the actual tub basin - by a wood or wood-based panel strengthened. Due to the shape of the edge areas, such a plate cannot be used there, so deformations can occur under loads. These are particularly problematic since this can impair the tightness of the connection to tiles or similar.
- Faster assembly is achieved by using an assembly frame on which the shower tray rests and which in turn rests on the subsurface and can thus serve as an element that compensates for unevenness.
- Such a procedure is for example in the writings GB1 226 753 for bathtubs and in the DE 20 20011 001 006 U1 described for shower trays.
- the British Patent Specification GB1,562,149 discloses a bathtub with an edge reinforcement made of synthetic resin, in particular a polyester resin with or without additives or synthetic plastics such as polyvinyl chloride, polyurethane, polyamide or polystyrene.
- the edge reinforcement is made by inserting the still liquid synthetic resin or plastic into the edge of the turned upside down tub is poured and hardened by adding a binder. An already factory connection of a mounting frame with this edge-reinforced bathtub is not taught.
- the Dutch patent specification 1023272 shows various designs of mounting frames for underside arrangement under, depending on the design, shower or bathtubs. Here, too, there is no teaching to the effect that the frames can already be connected to a shower or bathtub at the factory.
- the object of the present invention is to find a shower tray that can be installed quickly and safely and in which the problems mentioned above are avoided as far as possible.
- the object is achieved according to the invention by a shower tray unit with the features of claim 1 and by a method with the features of claim 9, wherein the document DE 20 2011 001 006 U1 the features of the preamble of claim 1 are disclosed.
- a shower tray unit with a tray body and a mounting frame is made available, with a unit consisting of a tub body and a mounting frame already being manufactured at the factory by gluing the mounting frame to an edge reinforcement of the tub body using a permanently elastic adhesive.
- the tub body here forms the actual shower tub, ie it forms the basin for receiving and draining shower water. If necessary, the basin can be extremely flat for a flat or even "floor-level" shower.
- the tub body typically has a shell-like structure, ie it has thin walls compared to its dimensions.
- the tub body usually consists of one or more plastics, which may be reinforced by glass fibers or other material. Of course, the tub body usually has a drain opening on which a drain can be mounted.
- the bottom of the tub has a reinforced edge made of synthetic resin.
- the edge reinforcement is located in an edge area of the tub body, specifically on the side that is at the bottom in the installed position.
- the synthetic resin can be of a wide variety of types, for example a phenoplast, aminoplast, epoxy resin or polyester resin.
- a 2-component system consisting of resin and hardener, is used for the production Mixing the synthetic resin is formed. Since a synthetic resin can in principle be brought into any shape, it is hereby possible to effectively reinforce the edge area despite its more complicated shape. It goes without saying that the edge reinforcement is connected to the tub body.
- the connection can in particular be materially bonded, as will be explained below.
- the edge reinforcement is arranged in a channel running around the underside of the tub body.
- a channel results with some effort due to the shape of the tub body when the edge area is raised compared to a central area that is provided for receiving and draining water.
- the raised edge area viewed from above, forms a recessed, channel-like structure when viewed from below. Normally this channel is completely circumferential. However, it can also be partially circumferential, ie broken through in places.
- the edge reinforcement is cast onto the tub body.
- the synthetic resin is brought to the tub body in an uncured form and cures there.
- the connection achieved in this way is materially bonded, which leads to an even better connection if the surface of the tub body is particularly rough, since the synthetic resin surrounds or engages behind surface structures.
- the synthetic resin can, for example, be poured into a channel already described, which serves as a "natural" mold.
- Many synthetic resins are self-adhesive. in the liquid state they form an even surface that is retained even when solidifying. If the pouring takes place in a position in which the tub body is rotated 180° in relation to the installed position, the result is a horizontal surface of the edge reinforcement, which then points downwards in the installed position. This is an optimal contact surface for the mounting frame.
- the mounting frame is designed to support the tub body. In the assembly position, it forms the direct support for the tub body, so to speak, and supports it. In other words, the flow of forces between the tub body and the floor (of a bathroom) runs via the mounting frame.
- the mounting frame can consist at least predominantly of metal, for example profile parts made of steel or aluminum.
- the frame can also consist of several parts that are not directly connected to one another. For example, in the case of a shower with a square floor plan, it would be conceivable for four frame parts arranged on the respective sides of the square to form the frame, which, however, do not meet at the corners or are not connected to one another there.
- the mounting frame is arranged on the underside of the tub body and, according to the invention, is already connected to the edge reinforcement at the factory by gluing it using a permanently elastic adhesive.
- the edge reinforcement thus has an additional function, namely the connection of the mounting frame to the tub body. Without the presence of an edge reinforcement according to the invention, a secure connection between an assembly frame and the typically thin-walled edge area can hardly be achieved.
- a problem here is also that the tub body often has a rough and/or complicated underside has a shaped surface that makes it almost impossible, for example, to stick on a mounting frame.
- edge reinforcement made of synthetic resin
- a suitably shaped surface can be provided here, and the edge area is also stabilized and reinforced in terms of its thickness, which also facilitates a secure connection.
- the connection between the edge reinforcement and the mounting frame can be form-fitting, force-fitting and/or material-fitting.
- the shower tray unit according to the invention has several advantages over the prior art.
- the edge area of the shower is significantly stabilized. Therefore, there are no significant deformations even under load, which is why the tightness in a connection area can be guaranteed without further ado.
- a wall-side connection strip or bracket is often necessary in the prior art, with which the shower tray is secured to the wall. Such a measure is normally unnecessary with the shower tray unit according to the invention.
- the interposition of the edge reinforcement made of synthetic resin enables a secure connection of the mounting frame to the tub body.
- a unit made up of tub body and assembly frame is already manufactured at the factory, which means that time can be saved during assembly on site.
- the mounting frame preferably has a plurality of feet on the underside.
- the basic structure of the assembly frame corresponds to the base frames known in the prior art.
- the shower tray unit is prefabricated as a whole in such a way that it can be easily set up on site and connected to a drain.
- the feet are typically made at least partially of metal, with the actual adjustable foot (i.e. the part that is placed on the floor) also being made of plastic or rubber.
- the mounting frame it would also be conceivable, for example, for the mounting frame to have no feet per se, but connection points provided for this purpose, into which feet are inserted, screwed or the like.
- various synthetic resins can be used, for example polyester resins, polyurethane resins, epoxy resins, silicone resins, vinyl ester resins, phenolic resins or acrylic resins.
- a casting resin is advantageously used, in particular a polyurethane casting resin. This is typically based on a 2-component system of a polyester and a hardener, e.g. B. Polyisocyanate.
- the mounting frame comprises at least one steel profile to which the feet are attached.
- the corresponding profile can be a U-profile or C-profile, with the feet engaging in the profile.
- other profile shapes are also possible.
- the connection of the feet to the steel profile can in particular be detachable, for example by screwing or bracing.
- an extremely smooth surface of the edge reinforcement can be provided in particular by the self-leveling properties of the synthetic resin. Therefore, it is preferable that the mounting frame is glued to the edge reinforcement.
- a permanently elastic adhesive can be used for this purpose, which absorbs vibrations and compensates for different thermal expansion coefficients of the frame and edge reinforcement can.
- Such a permanently elastic adhesive can also help to dampen structure-borne noise emitted by the tub body.
- the tub body In order to increase the overall stability of the tub body, it can in particular have a multi-layer structure. Typical here is an upper layer, which forms the user surface, and an adjoining layer on the underside, which contributes significantly to mechanical stabilization.
- the tub body particularly preferably comprises a top layer made of acrylic and a bottom layer made of glass fiber reinforced plastic. In manufacturing, first the top layer can be made by deforming a prefabricated sheet of acrylic. A layer of glass fiber reinforced polyester resin is then applied to the back.
- the stability of the shower tray unit can be further improved in that a central foot is attached centrally to a base plate on the underside of the tray body.
- a base plate which serves to stabilize the tub body, is surrounded by at least one plastic layer and is connected to the tub body via this.
- Another foot can be attached as a central foot to such a base plate, for example by screwing it tight.
- the feet on the mounting frame and/or the center foot are height adjustable. This can be done in a particularly simple manner by a spindle drive (e.g. a threaded rod and a nut cooperating therewith) can be realized.
- the feet arranged on the mounting frame can be laterally adjustable.
- a metal profile of the mounting frame can serve as a kind of slide rail for the feet, which are then locked in a desired position by tightening.
- the invention also provides a method for manufacturing a shower tray unit.
- a tub body is first provided.
- An edge reinforcement made of synthetic resin is then attached to the tub body on the underside.
- a mounting frame which is intended to support the tub body, is arranged on the underside of the tub body and finally the mounting frame is connected to the edge reinforcement.
- Preferred configurations of the method correspond to the preferred configurations of the shower tray unit according to the invention.
- FIG 1 shows a shower tray unit 1 according to the present invention in a perspective view obliquely from below. i.e. you can see the side that is in the intended installation position below.
- the tub unit 1 comprises a tub body 2, which is provided for actually receiving and draining shower water.
- a drain opening 7 is provided in it.
- the tub body 2 has an extremely flat profile with a basin 8 only about 1 cm deep and consists of two layers 3, 4.
- a first layer 3 arranged towards the top consists of acrylic resin; this ensures the desired surface properties such as haptics, optics and sufficient abrasion resistance.
- the stability of the tub body 2 is significantly improved by a second layer 4, which is made of a polyester resin reinforced with glass fibers and is connected to the first layer on the underside.
- the mentioned structure is in figure 2 recognizable, which shows a sectional view of the tub unit 1 .
- the comparatively thin-walled profile of the trough body 2 has a channel 5 on the underside (relative to the installation position) in an edge region.
- An edge reinforcement 6 made of polyurethane casting resin was cast into this channel 5 during the manufacturing process. By introducing the casting resin in a liquid state, it forms a horizontal, very even surface that is retained when it hardens.
- the edge reinforcement 6 thus fulfills two functions. On the one hand, it stabilizes the tub body 2, with the connection thereto being cohesive and very stable. This is reinforced by the fact that the second layer 3 of the tub body 2 has a relatively uneven surface, which increases the effective connection surface for the cast resin.
- the very smooth, even surface of the edge reinforcement 6 forms an optimal contact surface for a mounting frame 10.
- the mounting frame 10 is arranged circumferentially at the edge. It consists of steel profiles 11, which are glued to the edge reinforcement 6 by means of a permanently elastic polymer adhesive. The steel profiles can 11 possibly still with each other by screwing, welding o. ⁇ . be connected, but in principle the connection with the edge reinforcement 6 is sufficient.
- a series of feet 12 engage in the steel profiles 11 and are intended for supporting the tub unit 1 on the floor of a bathroom. The feet 12 are height-adjustable on the one hand and laterally adjustable along the steel profile 11 on the other.
- each foot 12 includes a threaded rod 13 on which an adjustable foot 18 is arranged at the end.
- the adjustable foot 18 is non-rotatably connected to a nut 17 seated on the threaded rod. Turning the adjustable foot 18 thus results in a height adjustment of the same.
- a toothed nut 14 is screwed onto that part of the threaded rod 13 which is arranged inside the profile 11 and which, due to its dimensioning, engages in the steel profile 11 in a rotationally fixed manner.
- a perforated disk 15 and a further nut 16 are arranged on the outside of the steel profile, by means of which the threaded rod 13 can be locked on the steel profile 11 . By loosening the nut 16, the entire foot 12 can be moved laterally along the profile 11.
- the tub body 2 is reinforced by a base plate 9 made of wood, which is surrounded on both sides by the second layer 4.
- a base plate 19 of a middle foot 20 is screwed centrally to the base plate 9 .
- This middle foot 20 also has a threaded rod 21 . On this sits on a thread on a coil 22 on which a actual adjustable foot 24 is attached. By pulling on a cord 23 wound on the spool 22, the spool 22 can be set in rotation, which causes the height of the adjustable foot 24 to be adjusted.
- the tub unit 1 is delivered fully assembled. On site, the feet 12 are adjusted to the desired height and, if necessary, to the desired lateral position. Uneven floors can be compensated for by the individual height adjustment.
- the cord 23 is unwound so far that the central foot 20 is set at a slightly lower height than the feet 12.
- the individual adjustable feet 18, 24 are now provided with an assembly adhesive on the underside.
- the tray unit 1 is then placed at the installation site. Finally, by pulling on the cord 23, the metatarsus 20 is brought into ground contact.

Description
The invention relates to a shower tray unit with a tray body having an edge reinforcement on the underside and a mounting frame which is intended to support the tray body, the mounting frame being arranged on the underside of the tub body and connected to the edge reinforcement, and a manufacturing method therefor.
Various options are known in the prior art for installing shower trays. In one variant, a prefabricated tub support made of rigid foam is used, which is placed at the installation site and onto which the actual tub body, consisting of plastic, is placed. According to an alternative approach, a pedestal, typically made of metal, is used. In this case, the pedestal is usually first placed in the intended installation location, where the tub body is then placed. It is also known to connect the tub body to the pedestal on site and then to position both at the installation site. One variant is to fix the pedestal to the tub body with double-sided adhesive tape and then screw it to a floor board of the same. The pedestal usually has height-adjustable feet so that the installation height can be easily varied and unevenness or a slope in the floor can be compensated for.
However, there are always problems that result from the instability of the tub body in the edge area. Since the tub body is usually shaped like a shell from relatively thin plastic material, it is often in the central area - under the actual tub basin - by a wood or wood-based panel strengthened. Due to the shape of the edge areas, such a plate cannot be used there, so deformations can occur under loads. These are particularly problematic since this can impair the tightness of the connection to tiles or similar.
When using shower trays according to the prior art, however, the problem arises that the tray can easily deform or even tear, particularly in the area where it rests on the mounting frame. This could in principle be circumvented by appropriate reinforcement of the material of the pan, that is to say greater thickness, but this would result in a significantly greater installation height, which is not desirable, particularly in the case of "level with the floor" installation.
Against this background, the object of the present invention is to find a shower tray that can be installed quickly and safely and in which the problems mentioned above are avoided as far as possible.
According to the invention, a shower tray unit with a tray body and a mounting frame is made available, with a unit consisting of a tub body and a mounting frame already being manufactured at the factory by gluing the mounting frame to an edge reinforcement of the tub body using a permanently elastic adhesive. The tub body here forms the actual shower tub, ie it forms the basin for receiving and draining shower water. If necessary, the basin can be extremely flat for a flat or even "floor-level" shower. The tub body typically has a shell-like structure, ie it has thin walls compared to its dimensions. The tub body usually consists of one or more plastics, which may be reinforced by glass fibers or other material. Of course, the tub body usually has a drain opening on which a drain can be mounted.
The bottom of the tub has a reinforced edge made of synthetic resin. The edge reinforcement is located in an edge area of the tub body, specifically on the side that is at the bottom in the installed position. The synthetic resin can be of a wide variety of types, for example a phenoplast, aminoplast, epoxy resin or polyester resin. As a rule, a 2-component system, consisting of resin and hardener, is used for the production Mixing the synthetic resin is formed. Since a synthetic resin can in principle be brought into any shape, it is hereby possible to effectively reinforce the edge area despite its more complicated shape. It goes without saying that the edge reinforcement is connected to the tub body. The connection can in particular be materially bonded, as will be explained below.
The edge reinforcement is arranged in a channel running around the underside of the tub body. Such a channel results with some effort due to the shape of the tub body when the edge area is raised compared to a central area that is provided for receiving and draining water. Due to the thin-walled, shell-like structure of the tub body, the raised edge area, viewed from above, forms a recessed, channel-like structure when viewed from below. Normally this channel is completely circumferential. However, it can also be partially circumferential, ie broken through in places.
In particular when such a circumferential channel is present, it is preferred that the edge reinforcement is cast onto the tub body. In other words, the synthetic resin is brought to the tub body in an uncured form and cures there. It goes without saying that an optimal connection to the tub body is achieved in this way, since the synthetic resin in liquid form adapts practically perfectly to the surface of the same. The connection achieved in this way is materially bonded, which leads to an even better connection if the surface of the tub body is particularly rough, since the synthetic resin surrounds or engages behind surface structures. The synthetic resin can, for example, be poured into a channel already described, which serves as a "natural" mold. Many synthetic resins are self-adhesive. in the liquid state they form an even surface that is retained even when solidifying. If the pouring takes place in a position in which the tub body is rotated 180° in relation to the installed position, the result is a horizontal surface of the edge reinforcement, which then points downwards in the installed position. This is an optimal contact surface for the mounting frame.
The mounting frame is designed to support the tub body. In the assembly position, it forms the direct support for the tub body, so to speak, and supports it. In other words, the flow of forces between the tub body and the floor (of a bathroom) runs via the mounting frame. In particular, the mounting frame can consist at least predominantly of metal, for example profile parts made of steel or aluminum. In a broader sense, the frame can also consist of several parts that are not directly connected to one another. For example, in the case of a shower with a square floor plan, it would be conceivable for four frame parts arranged on the respective sides of the square to form the frame, which, however, do not meet at the corners or are not connected to one another there.
In this case, the mounting frame is arranged on the underside of the tub body and, according to the invention, is already connected to the edge reinforcement at the factory by gluing it using a permanently elastic adhesive. This means that the connection between the mounting frame and the tub body is provided by the edge reinforcement. The edge reinforcement thus has an additional function, namely the connection of the mounting frame to the tub body. Without the presence of an edge reinforcement according to the invention, a secure connection between an assembly frame and the typically thin-walled edge area can hardly be achieved. A problem here is also that the tub body often has a rough and/or complicated underside has a shaped surface that makes it almost impossible, for example, to stick on a mounting frame. By interposing the edge reinforcement made of synthetic resin, a suitably shaped surface can be provided here, and the edge area is also stabilized and reinforced in terms of its thickness, which also facilitates a secure connection. The connection between the edge reinforcement and the mounting frame can be form-fitting, force-fitting and/or material-fitting.
The shower tray unit according to the invention has several advantages over the prior art. On the one hand, the edge area of the shower is significantly stabilized. Therefore, there are no significant deformations even under load, which is why the tightness in a connection area can be guaranteed without further ado. In order to compensate for the stability problems, a wall-side connection strip or bracket is often necessary in the prior art, with which the shower tray is secured to the wall. Such a measure is normally unnecessary with the shower tray unit according to the invention. It is just as important that the interposition of the edge reinforcement made of synthetic resin enables a secure connection of the mounting frame to the tub body. It is also advantageous that, according to the invention, a unit made up of tub body and assembly frame is already manufactured at the factory, which means that time can be saved during assembly on site.
The mounting frame preferably has a plurality of feet on the underside. In this case, the basic structure of the assembly frame corresponds to the base frames known in the prior art. In this case, the shower tray unit is prefabricated as a whole in such a way that it can be easily set up on site and connected to a drain. For stability reasons the feet are typically made at least partially of metal, with the actual adjustable foot (i.e. the part that is placed on the floor) also being made of plastic or rubber.
Alternatively, it would also be conceivable, for example, for the mounting frame to have no feet per se, but connection points provided for this purpose, into which feet are inserted, screwed or the like.
B. Polyisocyanat.According to the invention, various synthetic resins can be used, for example polyester resins, polyurethane resins, epoxy resins, silicone resins, vinyl ester resins, phenolic resins or acrylic resins. A casting resin is advantageously used, in particular a polyurethane casting resin. This is typically based on a 2-component system of a polyester and a hardener, e.g. B. Polyisocyanate.
Verspannen. It is also preferred that the mounting frame comprises at least one steel profile to which the feet are attached. The corresponding profile can be a U-profile or C-profile, with the feet engaging in the profile. However, other profile shapes are also possible. The connection of the feet to the steel profile can in particular be detachable, for example by screwing or bracing.
As already explained, an extremely smooth surface of the edge reinforcement can be provided in particular by the self-leveling properties of the synthetic resin. Therefore, it is preferable that the mounting frame is glued to the edge reinforcement. For example, a permanently elastic adhesive can be used for this purpose, which absorbs vibrations and compensates for different thermal expansion coefficients of the frame and edge reinforcement can. Such a permanently elastic adhesive can also help to dampen structure-borne noise emitted by the tub body.
In order to increase the overall stability of the tub body, it can in particular have a multi-layer structure. Typical here is an upper layer, which forms the user surface, and an adjoining layer on the underside, which contributes significantly to mechanical stabilization. The tub body particularly preferably comprises a top layer made of acrylic and a bottom layer made of glass fiber reinforced plastic. In manufacturing, first the top layer can be made by deforming a prefabricated sheet of acrylic. A layer of glass fiber reinforced polyester resin is then applied to the back.
The stability of the shower tray unit can be further improved in that a central foot is attached centrally to a base plate on the underside of the tray body. The use of such floor panels, which are made of wood or derived timber products, is known in the prior art. Typically, such a base plate, which serves to stabilize the tub body, is surrounded by at least one plastic layer and is connected to the tub body via this. Another foot can be attached as a central foot to such a base plate, for example by screwing it tight. Of course it is also conceivable, although generally not necessary, to attach several feet to such a base plate.
As is known in the art, it is preferred that the feet on the mounting frame and/or the center foot are height adjustable. This can be done in a particularly simple manner by a spindle drive (e.g. a threaded rod and a nut cooperating therewith) can be realized. Alternatively or additionally, the feet arranged on the mounting frame can be laterally adjustable. For example, a metal profile of the mounting frame can serve as a kind of slide rail for the feet, which are then locked in a desired position by tightening.
The invention also provides a method for manufacturing a shower tray unit. Here, a tub body is first provided. An edge reinforcement made of synthetic resin is then attached to the tub body on the underside. Furthermore, a mounting frame, which is intended to support the tub body, is arranged on the underside of the tub body and finally the mounting frame is connected to the edge reinforcement.
Preferred configurations of the method correspond to the preferred configurations of the shower tray unit according to the invention.
