Description

The present invention relates to a via ferrata equipment having the features of the preamble of claim 1, which features are disclosed in the document US-A-2006/0169534 known.

A via ferrata equipment of this kind is for example from the EP 2 409 733 A1 known, which discloses a via ferrata set in Y-construction with two each held on a security band carabiners and a common tie-in loop. The backup tapes may be shortened to a minimum length by a reel assembly during use to allow easy handling of the equipment. Furthermore, the known via ferrata has a band fall damper, which is arranged between the tie-in loop and the branching of the securing means.

The binding loop of the known via ferrata set must have sufficient size to allow integration of the via ferrata set on the harness with the desired technique, for example by means of anchor anchor knot, so that in particular the loop must have sufficient size to pass through the carabiners and the band fall absorber. However, this leads in practical use of the via ferrata set that parts of the binding loop or / and the relatively heavy shock absorber in the thighs of the sports climber can be distracting and hang down especially when relieving the via ferrata set while walking on the mountain quite far from the harness down.

Against this background, it is an object of the present invention to provide a via ferrata equipment, which identifies a more compact design in the region of the Einbindeabschnitts, but at the same time a comfortable handling of the Einbindeabschnitts when integrating the Harness guaranteed.

According to the invention, this object is achieved by a via ferrata equipment having the features of claim 1.

According to an important feature of the present invention, the via ferrata equipment has at its binding portion an expansion portion which is elastically extensible in the pulling direction by the sport climber. During normal use of the via ferrata set and the movement on the via ferrata thus the binding portion is compressed and a total of compact size, so he is not disturbing or too far from the harness down and an optionally still arranged at the end of the Einbindeabschnitts Bandfalldämpfer or the like is not in disturbingly arranged in the area of the thigh of the user. At the same time, the expansion section can be manually expanded when being incorporated into the climbing harness, so that the binding section then has sufficient size to permit comfortable binding, for example by means of an anchor stitching node. Furthermore, the binding portion of the via ferrata equipment according to the invention comprises a deflection section whose elasticity in the pulling direction is smaller than that of the expansion section, so that the deflection section can basically not be expanded or compressed manually. Such a deflection section can for this purpose have a well-defined or smooth shape and thus advantageously serve as a point of attack or operating section when integrating. For example, the sports climber can easily grasp the deflecting portion due to its defined loop or hook shape to expand the expansion portion for performing the binding operation.

As already mentioned, the elasticity of the expansion section is chosen such that the expansion section can be expanded by manual pulling operation by the sport climber to allow comfortable binding, but not by the self-weight of the via ferrata equipment is expanded so that the Einbindeabschnitt during normal use of the via ferrata equipment when moving on the via ferrata in the compressed position holds and does not expand. Preferably, the expansion section can be expanded by the manual climber by the sport climber by at least 20 percent, more preferably by at least 80 percent. Such expansion values are particularly advantageous for incorporating the binding portion by anchor stitching.

The expansion section may be formed as a gathered ribbon or rope material and / or contain an elastomeric material. On the one hand, such bands or ropes can have elasticity for the manual change in length and, on the other hand, sufficient tensile strength upon reaching a predetermined maximum length. In particular, the shirred tape or rope material may comprise an elastic band integrated into the band or rope material or covering the band or rope material, which automatically brings the band or rope material into the gathered, compressed position. Alternatively, the expansion section may be constructed of a blend of elastomers and tensile materials, for example, formed from a blend of elastomeric fibers and tensile fibers. Preferably, the expansion section is a textile tape or a textile rope.

The deflection portion may be formed as a band or rope material, in particular as a smooth, ungeschafftes tape or rope material, as is known per se in the art for tape or rope loops in the field of alpine sports climbing. In particular, thought of a textile tape or a textile rope, which combines sufficient tensile strength with low weight. Particularly advantageously, the entire binding portion is formed by a continuous textile tape or textile rope, which is gathered in the region of the expansion section and optionally held by an elastomeric material (elastic) in the gathered position, and which in the region of the deflecting ungoverned or smooth is.

Der Einbindeabschnitt lässt sich dann durchIt is preferable that the binding portion is formed as a U-shaped or V-shaped loop, wherein the leg portions of the U / V shape having the expansion portion and a bow or tip portion of the U / V shape has the deflection portion. The binding section can then be passed through

Pull on the arch or tip portion expand, wherein the deflection can remain in any phase of the expansion in a sports climber facing position.

Furthermore, it is preferred that the deflection section is self-supporting, that is, has sufficient rigidity, so that it has an easy-to-grasp bow or tip shape for the user, even if the binding section is unloaded (for example, before the binding process). This also facilitates the handling of via ferrata equipment.

In a further preferred embodiment of the invention, it is provided that the via ferrata equipment in Y-construction with a stem portion and two branches Astabschnitten is formed, each branch portion comprises an elongated, flexible securing means and at its free end a coupling element for releasable coupling with a via ferrata Securing element, and wherein the stem portion has the binding portion. A via ferrata equipment in Y-construction has the advantage that when changing the via ferrata securing element, that is in particular at the transition from a rope section of the via ferrata to the next rope section of the via ferrata, always one of the two coupling elements can remain secured to the via ferrata, while the other coupling element Via ferrata security element changes.

In a further preferred embodiment of the invention, there is further provided a fall damping device which, in a normal condition, holds a portion of the connection assembly in a contracted condition and only expands the portion of the connection assembly to absorb energy in a predetermined fall load condition of the via ferrata equipment. In the event of a fall, the fall damping device can dampen the impact force acting on the climber by providing a predetermined braking distance. In addition, the combination of the expandable binding portion with a Fall damping device achieves the additional effect that the fall damping device, which can represent a relatively massive or heavy component, is not arranged disturbing in the thigh of the climber when the climber moves on the via ferrata. In the case of using a fall damping device is particularly thought that the binding portion extends as a loop from the fall damping device, wherein the loop is formed of two expansion sections, which are each connected at one end to the fall damping device and the other ends together by the deflection are connected. This results in a structurally simple and safe design of the binding portion and a defined expansion behavior in this way.

The invention will be explained in more detail below with reference to a preferred embodiment with reference to the drawing. FIG. 1 shows a via ferrata set according to the embodiment.

The via ferrata set of the embodiment comprises two coupling elements in the form of carabiners 10, 12, to each of which a securing means 14, 16 is attached. The carabiners 10, 12 and the securing means 14, 16 form two branches of a Y-shaped construction of the via ferrata set, wherein a first branch has the first securing means 14 and carries at its free end the first carabiner 10 and a second branch has the second securing means 16 and carries at its free end the second carabiner 12. The branches of the Y-shape branch off from a common trunk section 18, which has a binding section 20, which is designed here as a loop and will be described in more detail below.

The securing means 14, 16 may be formed as a strip material with sufficient tensile strength and may have a shirred portion 22, in which the securing means 14 and 16, respectively, wavy or zigzag-shaped gathered to the length of the Locking means 14, 16 in the direction to shorten, but if necessary to allow expansion of the length of the traction means 14, 16 to allow sufficient freedom of movement of the climber on the via ferrata while ensuring easy handling of the via ferrata set. The gathered portion 22 is preferably biased by an elastic or a rubber hose into the gathered, compressed position. Alternatively, the securing means 14, 16 may be a smooth or substantially non-expandable tape or rope material.

According to the invention, the binding portion 20 comprises an expansion portion 24 and a deflection portion 26. The expansion portion 24 can be manually expanded by muscle strength of the user, preferably extend to at least twice the length. In the exemplary embodiment, the expansion section 24 is formed by a gathered strip material which is wavy or zig-zag-shaped and is advantageously biased by an integrated elastic band or a rubber tube accommodating the band material in the compressed, shirred position. Alternative variants of the configuration of the expansion section are conceivable, but it should be ensured that the expansion section 24 is stretchable on the one hand by manual pulling operation (and is significantly more expansible than would allow the natural inherent elasticity of textile bands in the climbing area), on the other hand essentially achieves no further elongation when a predetermined maximum length has been reached and meets the strength requirements known and standardized for safety devices in the field of sport climbing.

It can be seen in the drawing that the deflection section 26 on a climber facing or the carabiners 10, 12 facing away portion of the Einbindeabschnitts 20 (in the drawing at a lower portion of the Einbindeabschnitts 20) is provided during the expansion section 24 at a the climber facing away or the carabiners 10, 12 facing portion of the Einbindeabschnitts (in the drawing at an upper portion of the Einbindeabschnitts) is provided. In particular, in the preferred embodiment, the loop is configured such that a first expansion section 24-1 and a second expansion section 24-2 extend from the stem section 18, preferably each about one-sixth to one-third of the loop circumference, for example, respectively about a quarter of the loop circumference. The ends of the expansion portions 24-1 and 24-2 remote from the stem portion 18 are connected together by the deflection portion 26, which then correspondingly occupies a peripheral portion of the loop between about one third and about two thirds, preferably about half of the loop circumference.

To ensure adequate safety, it is particularly preferred if the binding portion 20 has a continuous strip material which passes through the deflection section 26 both in a scarfed form the expansion section 24 and in a smooth shape. In the region of the deflection section, the strip material may optionally be additionally stiffened, for example by painting or the like, in order to further simplify handling and to ensure a defined shape of the deflection section 26. In principle, the strip material of the binding portion could also without interruption in the band material of the securing means 14, 16 pass, so that in effect a single band from the first carabiner 10 via the first securing means 14, the first expansion section 24-1, the deflection section 26, the second Expansion portion 24-2 and the second securing means 16 to the second carabiner 12 extends.

Furthermore, the via ferrata set may comprise a damping device 30 which, in the event of a fall and under the action of a force exceeding a predetermined camber force, extends the total length of the via ferrata set between one of the carabiners 10, 12 and Integral portion 20 causes absorption of energy traps. The damping device 30 may be configured on the model of a known shock absorber per se, in which a band which is connected on the one hand with the securing means 14, 16 and on the other hand with the binding portion, is folded several times and is secured in the compressed, folded position, so it expands only when exposed to a predetermined minimum fall force. In the exemplary embodiment, the damping device 30 is arranged on the stem portion of the Y-type of via ferrata set, so that extends from the damping device 30 from the binding portion 20 to the user and the securing means 14, 16 extend with the carabiners 10, 12 to the via ferrata. In principle, a single securing band could pass through not only both securing means and the binding portion but also the damping device 30.

The function of the via ferrata set according to the invention can be summarized as follows. For incorporation into the climbing harness, the user can grasp the binding portion 20 at the deflection portion 26 and expand by manual pulling force, so that the size of the loop of the binding portion 20 increases to such an extent that comfortable binding is possible. In particular, the via ferrata set can be attached to the harness by an anchor stitching node by passing the binding portion 20 through a loop of the harness, and then pulling the karabiners 10, 12, securing means 14, 16 and optionally the damping device 30 through the loop of the binding portion. After releasing the via ferrata set then the expansion section 24 pulls back together and the loop is reduced, so that the binding portion 20 has a compact size and not hindering climbing size and the optional damping device 30 also does not hinder the climber.
