Dies hat den Vorteil, dass jedes Gepäckstück individuell eine genau angepasste Eckenverstärkung mit entsprechend angepasster Verstärkungskontur aufweisen kann. Ferner hat dies den Vorteil, dass, die Verstärkungskontur den bei Gebrauch wirkenden Kräften angepasst ist, so dass die Verstärkungskontur nicht überdimensioniert sein muss. Dies hat den Vorteil, dass die Verstärkungskontur ebenfalls sehr leicht sein kann und somit das Gewicht des Gepäckstücks nicht wesentlich erhöht. Die Verstärkungskontur ist auf der Innenseite der Eckenverstärkung durch mindestens eine rippenförmige Erhöhung gebildet.

- The suitcase (1) according to claim 1, characterized in that the corner reinforcement (14,15) comprises at least one groove-shaped recess (18,27) at the outer face (16,26) at that site where the rib-shaped raised portion (24) is arranged at the inner face (22,28).
- The suitcase (1) according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the corner reinforcement (14,15) comprises at least three rib-shaped raised portions (18) at the inner face (22).
- The suitcase (1) according to any one of claims 1 - 3, characterized in that the corner reinforcement (14,15) comprises at least four rib-shaped raised portions (30,31) at the inner face (22).
- The suitcase (1) according to any one of claims 1 - 4, characterized in that the outer face (16,26) of the corner reinforcement (14,15) is glued to the baggage item wall inner face (3,5), preferably by hot gluing.
- A method of manufacturing a suitcase (1) according to any one of claims 1-5, by- manufacturing at least two baggage item portions (2,4) each comprising a baggage item wall having a baggage item wall inner face (3,5) and a baggage item wall outer face (7,9),- manufacturing at least one corner reinforcement (14,15) for at least one corner (32) of at least one of the two baggage item portions (2,4), wherein said corner reinforcement (14,15) has an inner side and an outer side, wherein said corner reinforcement comprises a reinforcement contour (23,29) at the inner face (22,28),- wherein the reinforcement contour (23,29) is defined by at least one rib-shaped raised portion (24,30,31) at the inner face of the corner reinforcement (14,15),- wherein the contour of the outer face of the corner reinforcement is adapted to the shape of the corner of the baggage item wall inner face,- fastening the outer face of said at least one corner reinforcement (14,15) to said at least one corner (32) of at least one of the two baggage item portions (2,4) at the baggage item wall inner face (3,5) of the baggage item portion (2,4).
- The method according to claim 6, characterized in that the corner reinforcement (14,15) is manufactured by injection molding.
- The method according to any one of claims 6 or 7, characterized in that the corner reinforcement (14,15) is glued to the baggage item wall inner face (7,5), wherein the gluing is preferably performed by hot gluing.
