Definitions

  • the present invention relates to noise attenuator devices for smoke ducts fitted to a boiler.
  • the boilers When operating, the boilers can generate noise, in particular because of the burner and / or the fan that equips them, this noise propagating in the ducts or associated casings, especially in the smoke evacuation ducts.
  • the sound level of this noise is sometimes important; it is specific to each installation and is characterized by an amplitude and a frequency range (between a few tens and a few thousand Hertz).
  • noise attenuators also called silencers
  • noise attenuator devices that operate according to a so-called “reactive” principle, consisting of penetrating the sound waves into a cavity, adapted to change the frequency. These devices have good efficiency on low frequencies, from a few tens to a few hundred Hertz (sound attenuation can range from 5dB to 40dB up to 1000 Hertz), but relatively reduced for frequencies above 1000 - 1500 Hertz (the sound attenuation is less than 5dB beyond 2000 Hertz).
  • the installer chooses the type of attenuator device according to the sound characteristics of the heating system.
  • the central tube has an upstream section with perforations, which extends from the upstream end wall to an intermediate zone between said upstream end wall and a downstream end wall.
  • This upstream section provided with perforations is extended by a downstream section which is solid, devoid or practically devoid of perforations, extending from said intermediate zone to said downstream end wall.
  • the acoustic absorptive material is delimited by an upstream end edge disposed in the sound absorption chamber bearing against said upstream end wall, and by a downstream end edge, which is disposed downstream of said intermediate zone.
  • the space of said acoustic absorption chamber between said downstream end edge of said acoustic absorptive material and said downstream end wall consists of a cavity which surrounds a non-perforated downstream portion of the central tube.
  • a baffle structure ensures the passage of fumes from the central tube towards the sound absorption chamber.
  • Such a device does not offer optimal efficiency for the absorption of high and low frequency noise of a boiler; and its structure is on the other hand relatively complex to achieve, in particular as regards the baffle structure.
  • the document DE-298 08 058 describes on its side a noise attenuator device comprising a central tube perforated along its length and belted, over a part of this length, by an intermediate tube delimiting a chamber filled with an acoustic absorbing material.
