Cette construction présente l'avantage de constituer un boitier monobloc offrant une plus grande résistance aux efforts de traction et une plus grande facilité de montage, la face 3 d'entrée de clé étant intégrée au boitier 1. La face arrière 6, diamétralement opposée à la face avant 3, présente une fente d'entrée de clé qui n'est pas visible sur les figures. A l'intérieur du boitier 1, attenant à sa face arrière 6, on trouve un caisson 7 formant chambre de réception de la clé 8. Le caisson 7 présente un évidement 9 (ex : central) disposé selon l'axe longitudinal médian du boitier 1, ledit axe étant matérialisé par la ligne tiretée visible sur la Figure 2. L'évidement 9 du caisson 7 s'étend sur toute la hauteur de la paroi arrière du caisson et sur une partie de sa paroi supérieure, définissant une lumière pour le passage du pêne du verrou. L'espace interne du boitier 1 est divisé en deux zones par une cloison sensiblement médiane 10 : la zone se trouvant du côté de la face avant 3 est la zone de réception de la consigne 5, la zone se trouvant du côté de la face arrière 6 est la zone de réception de la clé 8. Dans cette dernière, entre la cloison 10 et le caisson 7, le plancher du boitier 1 porte un berceau 11 formant palier pour la barre transversale du verrou.
