Description
The invention relates to a corner connection of a frame consisting of individual interconnected metal pipes, in particular a door frame of a fire protection door arranged on both sides of a fire protection window.
Metal pipes for use as a static element with increased rigidity are manufactured in particular with rectangular cross sections. For a wide variety of applications, it is necessary to connect individual pipes together. For example, screws, rivets, flanges or sleeves are used as connecting means, and welded or soldered connections are made on the other hand. Welded connections are preferred in particular in the case of a fire protection door frame made of stainless steel tubes, which have to bear the considerable weight of a fire protection window and have to meet high safety requirements in the event of a fire. Since such door frames made of hollow sections made of stainless steel with a rectangular cross section are arranged on both sides of the fire protection pane, it is disadvantageously necessary to weld the four pipes on each side at their four corners. As a result, eight welding processes have to be carried out on each door, so that the total effort for creating the required corner connections is considerable. First of all, the metal profiles have to be cut to size, if the fit is difficult to miter, then the welding processes, which are usually associated with a warping of the pipes, must be carried out, so that subsequent reworking and plastering and ultimately polishing is necessary to ensure perfect To make corner connections. There is therefore a constant need to propose an improved corner connection with which the enormous production effort can be reduced.
The invention is based on the object of proposing a novel corner connection of a frame consisting of individual interconnected metal tubes, in particular a fire door, which does not require any welding work or expensive reworking.
To achieve the object, the corner connection mentioned at the outset is characterized according to the invention by the features of
The pipe connector expediently has two spaced-apart longitudinal bores for the passage of two screws which are screwed to the pipe wall of the second pipe. According to the invention, countersunk screws are used, which are screwed with countersunk rivet nuts in the tube wall of the second tube. To fix the first pipe with the pipe connector, they are each provided with two mutually spaced corresponding cross bores into which countersunk screws are screwed for fixing, for which purpose the two cross bores of the pipe connector are provided with internal threads.
The butting of the metal pipes to be connected, preferably stainless steel pipes, against one another, which is provided according to the invention, is expediently aesthetically optimized by rounding off all edges of the pipes to be connected, in particular the edges of the open side of the connecting pipe, for example with a rounding R = 1.75 , This also avoids the risk of injury during assembly due to sharp pipe edges.
With the corner connection according to the invention, the disadvantages of the miter-connected pipe connections of the prior art are eliminated have elaborate cuts, a difficult fit and, above all, welded connections that include the risk of warping of the pipes and require extensive reworking such as cleaning and polishing every corner. With the invention, a screw connection is created which enables simple assembly and a free optical design of the frame, for example by anodizing or painting the metal profiles.
