Description

Gebiet der ErfindungField of the invention

The invention relates to a water-conducting household appliance with a line or circulation system and a filter for the flowing in the line system process liquid.

Hintergrundbackground

Water-conducting household appliance with a line or circulation system and a filter for process fluid are, for example, dishwashers, washing machines or automatic washing machines.

The piping system for domestic water appliances can also contain measuring devices which make it possible to monitor or control the processes taking place in the device, in particular the properties of the process fluid in the pipeline system. In particular, in a dishwasher or in a washing machine, e.g. the optimum surfactant concentration are determined and monitored by means of a suitable measuring device, which allows automatic adjustment of the amount of detergent.

Household appliances of this type are for example in EP-2319382 and EP-2422678 disclosed.

In DE 197 45 428 A method for automatic turbidity measurement in a dishwasher is described. There is a turbidity measurement before and after a part of the water has been removed from the dishwasher. This partial evacuation allows for the uptake of first and second quantities of haze characteristics taken before and after the partial evacuation, which are compared for an analysis of the extent and nature of the particles within the water of a dishwasher.

In DE 11 66 156 describes a wet scrubber for dusty air or gases with a ball bed filter. Air enters through a line in the wet scrubber and rips in a manifold liquid droplets of detergent liquid located at a level with. The moist air passes through the ball bed filter, by coarser dust particles are retained.

For household appliances in which process water circulates and / or in which the quality of the process water is monitored by the measuring device, there is often the need to keep the process water as free as possible of unwanted impurities and residues of a cleaning process. However, in filters that are integrated into the piping system for this purpose, these contaminants and debris build up over time, thus blocking the piping and necessitating cleaning of the filter by the user or so as to contaminate the measuring apparatus itself ,

Darstellung der ErfindungPresentation of the invention

It has as its object to provide a household appliance of the type mentioned, whose Filter reduces the need for cleaning by the user and in particular is able to reduce the pollution of an integrated in the piping system measuring device or even prevent. This object is achieved by the household appliance according to claim 1.

Accordingly, the household appliance has at least one ball bed filter or granulate filter in the line system. The ball bed filter or granulate filter is designed with a self-cleaning system or regeneration system. The self-cleaning system or regeneration system of the filter has, in particular, a backwashing driven by gravity or decoupled from the water pressure in the household line. The construction of a necessary for the backwashing pressure is preferably done by building a water column. This water column can particularly preferably be kept constant by means of an overflow guided in the treatment container on the filter.

Preferably, the backwash in the vicinity of the inlet to the filter has a flow-forming element which prefers peripheral flow or edge flow to a central flow through the ball bed of the filter.

In a further variant, the ball bed filter preferably has a main chamber with the balls or the granules, which projects at least partially from above into an outlet chamber. The outlet opening of the filter is preferably located above the lower end of the main chamber, more preferably above the level occupied by the balls at rest. Thus, the discharge chamber of the ball bed filter during operation contains sufficient liquid to keep the balls in the main chamber in a state immersed in the liquid.

The ball bed filter preferably also has a secondary input filter or prefilter. The input filter is preferably arranged so that not only liquid, which flows through the entrance into the ball bed filter, passes through the input filter, but also liquid, which flows through an overflow from the filter. Due to the overflowing liquid, the pre-filter can be cleaned. In particular, the entrance area of the ball bed filter can be designed so that a larger amount of inflowing liquid leaves the entrance area directly through the overflow without passing through the actual filter. For example, less than 50 percent or even less than 20 percent of the fluid entering the entrance of the filter may pass through the actual ball bed filter.

By a corresponding design of the filter, the self-cleaning system or regeneration system of the filter can also clean the input filter by rinsing deposits by flow reversal and be discharged into the overflow.

In a preferred variant of the invention, the ball bed filter is part of a circulation circuit for the process water in order to filter impurities from the process water. The circulation circuit may include a first, primary circuit and a second, secondary circuit, with a much larger amount of process fluid flowing through the primary circuit than through the secondary circuit. The ball bed filter is preferably part of the secondary circuit in such a configuration.

In a variant of the invention, the household appliance has a measuring device in the piping system, which in use serves to determine one or more properties of the process water. The measuring device can be connected to a control system of the household appliance and provide a parameter used for process control. The measuring device may be, for example, a surface tension sensor or a conductivity sensor or a pH sensor or a combination of a plurality of these sensors. In a preferred embodiment of this variant, the measuring device is mounted in the line system downstream of the ball bed filter. Should the piping system be oriented to change the direction of flow in certain operating conditions, the directional indication "downstream" is given by the direction in which the process water flows most of the time during a complete cycle of operation. By this method of attachment process water flows through the filter first before it passes the measuring device. In a preferred embodiment of this variant, the measuring device and the ball bed filter are part of a secondary circuit for the process fluid.

Nähere Angaben hierzu finden sich in EP2319382 .The water-conducting household appliance is in particular a dishwasher or a washing machine. For devices of this type, as already mentioned, detergents used, which affect the surface tension of the process fluid, so that the surface tension is an important parameter in the control of the device. Further details can be found in EP2319382 ,

The controller 10 is designed to control the dosage of detergent depending on the signal of the measuring device 9, for example, such that in the process phases provided for the surface tension of the wash liquor has a desired value without too much detergent is used for this purpose. Details are in EP2319382 described.

The washing machine further includes a ball bed filter 11, which in the example shown is part of the supply line to the measuring device 9. The ball bed filter 11 is connected via a supply line 111 to the circulation circuit of the washing machine, ie, in operation, a portion of the circulating wash liquor is coupled out and passed to the filter 11. On the filter itself, the decoupled part of the wash liquor is separated into two partial streams. The larger partial flow (90-95%) is returned via an overflow on the filter 11 directly into the tub 1. A smaller partial flow of the decoupled wash liquor flows through the filter 11 and is transported via the line 117 to the measuring device 9 and from there back into the tub 1. In addition, the filter 11 still connected to a cleaning line 118. Details of the filter 11 and its connections are described in more detail below.

Fig. 2 - 4 zeigen eine Ausführung des Kugelbettfilters 11. Fig. 2-4 show an embodiment of the ball bed filter 11. As a ball bed filter according to the present invention to understand the filter in which the liquid to be filtered flows through a plurality of particulate elements. The elements are housed in a cage that prevents them from traveling with the flow. In normal operation, the elements are forced by the flow against the exit side of the cage and form a filter bed which passes the liquid to be filtered to exit at the exit side of the filter. The properties of the ball bed filter can be determined, among other things, by the number or density, the size and the nature of the particulate elements. In the example described, the particulate elements are designed so that the ball bed filter 11 retains solids in the process water up to a size of about 0.2 millimeters. This can be achieved for example by choosing glass beads, ceramic balls or metal balls with ball diameters in the range between 0.5mm to 2 mm and a dumping height in the ball filter between 10 mm and 30mm. To simplify the following description, the particulate elements of the ball bed filter 11 will be referred to hereinafter as spheres. It should be understood, however, that these elements do not necessarily have to have a spherical shape.

As in the perspective view of the filter 11 of FIG. 2A , the perspective section of FIG. 2 B through the filter 11, the cross section of FIG. 2C as well as in the details of the inlet area or head of the filter 11 of FIG FIG. 3A and 3B 2, the filter 11 has a feed tube 111 in the inlet region. The supply pipe 111 communicates with a main chamber 112 of the filter 11, wherein between the supply pipe 111 and the main chamber 112, a pre-filter 113 is attached. On the other hand, the supply pipe 111 also opens in the inlet region of the filter 11 into an overflow pipe 114.

The inlet portion of the filter 11 with the feed tube 111, the opening to the main chamber 112, the pre-filter 113, and the overflow tube 114 is designed and dimensioned such that the majority of the liquid entering through the feed tube 111 directly through the overflow tube 114 the filter 11 again leaves. This flow flows along one side of the pre-filter 113 and can thus exert a cleaning effect on the pre-filter. The openings of the prefilter 113 are dimensioned such that the particulate elements of the ball bed filter 11 can not be washed out of the main chamber 112 through the inlet area. In the present example, the lattice spacings of the prefilter bars are selected so that the spherical elements can not pass with one in the range of 5 mm to 20 mm and are held in the main chamber 112.

The detailed drawings in FIG. 3A and 3B show the inlet area of the filter 11 in a cross section perpendicular to the flow direction through the feed tube 111 (FIGS. FIG. 3A ) or in cross-section parallel to the flow direction ( FIG. 3B ). The prefilter 113 is composed of six bars arranged substantially parallel to the main flow direction, which block the downwardly directed entrance to the main chamber 112 of the ball bed filter 11.

In the main chamber 112 of the ball bed filter 11 are the particulate elements which form the ball bed. The filter 11 is oriented so that the balls are deposited on a perforated plate 115 under the influence of gravity. The openings in the perforated plate 115 are dimensioned such that the particulate elements are retained in the main chamber 112. In other words, in this example, the pre-filter forms 113 and the perforated plate 115 has a cage which holds the balls of the ball bed filter 11 in the main chamber 112.

During operation, filtered liquid flows through the perforated plate 115 into an outlet chamber 116 of the filter 11. The outlet chamber 116 has a drain 117. The drain 117 is mounted so that the filtered liquid can drain only when its level exceeds that of the ball bed or at least the perforated plate 115. The level of the ball bed is defined as the height or thickness of the layer which the balls assume when they have settled completely on the perforated plate 115.

By virtue of this siphon-like configuration of the exit chamber 116 and the outlet 117, the ball bed filter 11 is designed such that the particulate elements are below the liquid level in the main chamber 112 of the filter 11, even if no liquid flows through the filter.

FIG. 1). Via the outlet 117, the filtered liquid flows to the measuring device 9 (see FIG. FIG. 1 ). There, for example, the surface tension of the liquid can be determined before it is returned to the tub 1 via the return line 12. The overflow pipe 114 in the inlet region of the filter 11 is also connected to the return line 12, so that process water, which flows through the supply pipe 111, but not through the filter 11, is also returned to the tub 1.

In dem gezeigten Beispiel (s.a. The ball bed filter 11 is provided with a cleaning system or regeneration system. The regeneration system essentially has a riser 118 through which cleaning liquid can enter from below into the bottom region of the outlet chamber 116. In the example shown (see also FIG FIG. 1 ) is the cleaning liquid tap water, which can flow from the conduit 3 via an air gap 31 in the tube 118. Through the air gap, the regeneration system is isolated from the water pressure in the line 3. The pressure required to clean the filter 11 is determined by the height of the water column or by the hydrostatic pressure in the riser 118. The described cleaning system has no pump or other internal electric drive to build up a water pressure needed to flush the ball bed and is based solely on the action of gravity as a driving force. In the example, different pressures can be set via the valve 30 in the line 3. At a high pressure, the water flows at least for the most part through the mixing container 4 and via the line 5 in the tub 1. At a low pressure, which is adjusted by the valve 30, the water flows preferably in the hopper 31 and thus in the backwash. This solution can be equipped with a few additional moving elements, the filter system with a self-cleaning.

At the beginning of a flushing operation, the height of the water column in the tube 118 exceeds the height at which the overflow tube 114 is mounted in the inlet region of the filter 11. When purging the entire filter 11 is quickly filled up to the height of the overflow pipe 114. By the action of the flushing or rising rinsing liquid, the balls in the main chamber 112 are swirled apart and residues which have settled between the balls in the normal filter operation are carried by the flow of the rinsing liquid upwards and washed over the overflow pipe 114 from the filter , By the same process and the pre-filter 113 is freed from residues.

In order to make the effect of the rinsing liquid during this backwashing process as effective as possible, the cleaning system still has a flow-forming element which is suitable, the effect of To homogenize rinse liquid over the entire cross section of the main chamber of the filter. In order to keep the number of components of the system as small as possible, the perforated plate 115, which closes the main chamber 112 of the filter 11 downwards, designed as such a flow-forming element. As in the detailed drawing of FIG. 4A and 4B shown, the perforated plate 115 thereto in a circumferentially extending edge zone, a greater ratio or density of openings than in its central zone. By virtue of this configuration of the perforated plate 115, the flow velocity of the rinsing liquid at the edge zone of the perforated plate is increased in comparison with a perforated plate having a homogeneous density of openings.

This desired flow-shaping effect of the perforated plate 115 can be achieved in various ways. Thus, the perforated plate can have a greater density of openings of the same size at the edge than in the center, as in the example of FIG FIG. 4A or the openings at the edge may have a larger cross-sectional area than openings in the center as in the example of FIG. 4B ,

If it is mentioned that the household appliance is designed for a specific purpose, it is to be understood that the mechanical and electrical components are suitable for this purpose and the controller is designed to control the mechanical and electrical components in such a way that this purpose is achieved.

While preferred embodiments of the invention are described in the present application, it should be clearly understood that the invention is not limited to these and may be practiced otherwise within the scope of the following claims.
