Durch das Eingreifen des Rastvorsprungs 29 in das Langloch 37 des Treibstangenabschnitts 14, wobei der Rastvorsprung 29 an der stangenausschlussseitigen Kante des Langlochs 37 anliegt, ist gewährleistet, dass die Schutzkappe 19 auch in dieser Position zuverlässig mit der Beschlaganordnung verbunden ist. Die maximale Ausschlusslänge des Stangenausschlusses 17 beträgt in der in Fig. 2 dargestellten Stellung etwa 13 mm. Ein Benutzer kann somit beim Aufstecken der Schutzkappe 19 auf den Stangenausschluss 17 auf einfache Weise wählen, ob der Beschlag 10 für eine maximale Ausschlusslänge von 10 mm oder für eine maximale Ausschlusslänge von 13 mm vorbereitet werden soll. Im einen Fall wird die Schutzkappe 19 unter vollständigem Einrasten des Rastvorsprungs 29 in die Rastausnehmung 35 auf den Stangenausschluss 17 gesteckt, wohingegen im anderen Fall das Aufstecken derart erfolgt, dass der Rastvorsprung 29 an den vorderen Umrandungsflächen 39 der Rastausnehmung 35 anschlägt. Claims (12)

  1. A fitting (10) for windows or doors comprising
    a connecting rod arrangement (11) which can be actuated via a fitting gear and which is guided at a cover rail arrangement (12), wherein at least one of the ends of the connecting rod arrangement (11) forms a shootbolt protrusion (17),
    characterized by
    a protective cap (19) which can be clipped onto the shootbolt protrusion (17) and which abuts an end (18) of the cover rail arrangement (12) in a clipped-on state.
  2. A fitting in accordance with claim 1,
    characterized in that
    the protective cap (19) is produced from an elastic material.
  3. A fitting in accordance with claim 1 or claim 2,
    characterized in that
    the protective cap (19) is produced from plastic.
  4. A fitting in accordance with at least one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that
    the protective cap (19) can be locked, in particular latched, to the end (18) of the cover rail arrangement (12).

    the protective cap (19) can be locked to the cover rail arrangement (12) in two different positions, with one of the positions corresponding to a first protrusion length and the other position corresponding to a larger second protrusion length.

    the protective cap (19) which can be latched to the end (18) of the cover rail arrangement (12) has a resilient latch projection (29) which can be brought into engagement with a recess (35) provided at the end (18) of the cover rail arrangement (12) by moving the protective cap (19) in the direction of a longitudinal axis of the cover rail arrangement (12).
  7. A fitting in accordance with claim 6,
    characterized in that
    the latch projection (29) has a hollow cylindrical cross-section.
  8. A fitting in accordance with at least one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that
    the protective cap (19) can be coupled to the connecting rod arrangement (11).
  9. A fitting in accordance with claim 8,
    characterized in that
    the protective cap (19) can be clipped onto the shootbolt protrusion (17) in a direction extending transversely to a longitudinal axis of the connecting rod arrangement (11) such that a latch projection (29) provided at the protective cap (19) engages into a leadthrough (37) of the connecting rod arrangement (11) to couple the protective cap (19) to the connecting rod arrangement (11).
  10. A fitting in accordance with at least one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that
    grooved gripping sections (27) are provided at two oppositely disposed sides of the protective cap (19).
  11. A fitting in accordance with claim 10,
    characterized in that
    the gripping sections (27) are movable, in particular pivotable, to release a lock connection between the protective cap (19) and the connecting rod arrangement (11) and/or between the protective cap (19) and the cover rail arrangement (12).
  12. A fitting in accordance with at least one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that
    the connecting rod arrangement (11) and the cover rail arrangement (12) are telescopically displaceable for a length adjustment of the fitting (10).
