Definitions
- the present invention relates to a system for connecting a bracelet to a watch case comprising dressing elements made of a hard material such as a ceramic. More specifically, the present invention relates to a link provided for connecting a bracelet to a case of a watch, this link comprising a first hollow element and a second element embedded in the first element, the first hollow element carrying first fastening means to housing and the second member carrying second means for attachment to an adjacent link of the bracelet.
- the invention relates to the field of wristwatches made of a hard material such as ceramics and intended to be assembled on watches whose housing comprises a covering made of hard material.
- the cladding parts of hard materials are obtained by processes comprising a molding step followed by a sintering step. During the sintering operation, these parts are subject to a shrinkage phenomenon, that is to say they undergo a significant reduction in their volume under the combined actions of heat and pressure. . This shrinkage phenomenon can represent more than 30% of the initial volume of the pieces.
- the processes currently used currently make it possible to manufacture such parts with tolerances on the dimensions which are of the order of 0.5 to 1%, the sintering step making it difficult to obtain lower tolerances. It can be noted that these tolerances fluctuate according to the batches of raw material used.
- the manufacturing tolerances brought into play by the sintering operations may result in an uncertainty of the order of 0.2 mm over the length of a 3 cm ceramic watch case. Since ceramic watches are in the high-end range of watchmaking, such uncertainties are difficult for manufacturers to accept.
- the most commonly adopted solution to make up the gaps between the various ceramic elements used to make the watches is to carry out a manual machining after the sintering step.
- the manual machining steps have become more and more laborious in view of the number of parts to be processed.
- the manual machining steps are made all the more difficult as the complexity of the geometry of the watch boxes constantly grows.
- the document FR 2,713,358 discloses a system for connecting a bracelet to a watch case by means of a link.

- the present invention provides a system for connecting a bracelet to a watch case by means of a link which makes it possible to adjust the position of the bracelet with respect to the watch case. It is thus possible to overcome the problems inherent in manufacturing tolerances and to obtain an uninterrupted junction between the bracelet and the watch case without having to manually resume the trim parts, which is advantageous from the aesthetic point of view and economic.
- the present invention proceeds from the general inventive idea of providing a system for connecting a bracelet to a watch case by means of a link, this system comprising means which allow the link to come against the watch case.
- FIG. 1 a wristwatch according to the prior art designated as a whole by the general reference numeral 1.
- This wristwatch 1 comprises a bracelet 2 ceramic connected to a watch case 4 also made of ceramic.
- games, noted d1 and d2 are apparent at the junction between the watch case 4 and the first links 6 of the bracelet 2.
- these sets d1 and d2 come from manufacturing tolerances of the watch case 4 and the links 6 of the bracelet 2.
- the manufacturing tolerances induce dimensional variations of the different elements of dressing, which causes the appearance of discontinuities at the junction between the bracelet 2 and the watch case 4. These discontinuities are unsightly, if only because they reveal the fastening means 8 bracelet 2 on the watch case 4.
- the present invention solves this problem by providing a link having a particular structure to establish the mechanical connection without play between the bracelet and the watch case.
- the figure 2 is a sectional view along the median axis of the bracelet of the terminal link that connects the bracelet to the watch case and the figure 3 is a perspective and exploded view of the mechanical device that brings closer to the watch case the link provided to connect the bracelet to the watch case.
- the link according to the invention comprises a first hollow element 12 and a second element 14 partially embedded in the first hollow element 12.
- This link 10 is intended to connect a bracelet, the first of which link 16 is shown in the drawing to a cladding element which at least partially defines a watch case 18.
- the watch case 18 comprises a middle part 20 extended in the longitudinal direction of the bracelet by horns 22 each pierced by a hole 24
- the watch case 18 is classically bounded downwards by a bottom 26.
- the first hollow element 12 carries first fixing means 28 to the watch case 18 and the second element 14 carries second fastening means 30 to the adjacent link 16 of the bracelet.
- the second element 14 is in the form of a plate 32 of generally rectangular shape which, on the side of the watch case 18, is provided with a hollow cylindrical hinge 34 allowing the passage of a fixing pin 36 whose role will be described below and which, on the side of the bracelet, is provided with fastening means 16 to the adjacent link of the current type such as hinges 38 used in combination with a bar (not shown) of the current type also.

Description
The present invention relates to a system for connecting a bracelet to a watch case comprising dressing elements made of a hard material such as a ceramic.
Very generally, the invention relates to the field of wristwatches made of a hard material such as ceramics and intended to be assembled on watches whose housing comprises a covering made of hard material.
Such structures have certain limitations in their applications because of their manufacturing techniques. Indeed, the cladding parts of hard materials, for example ceramic, are obtained by processes comprising a molding step followed by a sintering step. During the sintering operation, these parts are subject to a shrinkage phenomenon, that is to say they undergo a significant reduction in their volume under the combined actions of heat and pressure. . This shrinkage phenomenon can represent more than 30% of the initial volume of the pieces. The processes currently used currently make it possible to manufacture such parts with tolerances on the dimensions which are of the order of 0.5 to 1%, the sintering step making it difficult to obtain lower tolerances. It can be noted that these tolerances fluctuate according to the batches of raw material used.
By way of example, the manufacturing tolerances brought into play by the sintering operations may result in an uncertainty of the order of 0.2 mm over the length of a 3 cm ceramic watch case. Since ceramic watches are in the high-end range of watchmaking, such uncertainties are difficult for manufacturers to accept.
To remedy this problem, the most commonly adopted solution to make up the gaps between the various ceramic elements used to make the watches is to carry out a manual machining after the sintering step. However, in the face of increasing customer demand for ceramic timepieces, the manual machining steps have become more and more laborious in view of the number of parts to be processed. In addition, the manual machining steps are made all the more difficult as the complexity of the geometry of the watch boxes constantly grows.
It should be noted that the problem of tolerances brought into play by sintering operations is all the more troublesome since the dimensions of the parts to be manufactured are important. In particular, these manufacturing tolerances have a detrimental effect on the watch cases whose dimensions are generally greater than those of the bracelet links. It will also be understood that the more ceramic watch manufacturers wish to make large bracelet links, the more difficult they are to make junctions between the watch case and the bracelet or between the links of the bracelet having a satisfactory aesthetic.
The present invention aims to overcome the disadvantages mentioned above as well as others by providing timepieces with improved aesthetics.
For this purpose, the present invention relates to a system for connecting a bracelet to a watch case by means of a link, the watch case having a middle part and a bottom, the link comprising a first hollow member and a second member partly embedded in the first hollow member, the first hollow member having first means for attachment to the watch case and the second member having second means for attachment to an adjacent link of the bracelet, characterized in that the watch case comprises a mechanical device arranged to rotate the first hollow element about an axis transverse to the longitudinal direction of the bracelet and to press the first hollow element against the watch case.
Thanks to these characteristics, the present invention provides a system for connecting a bracelet to a watch case by means of a link which makes it possible to adjust the position of the bracelet with respect to the watch case. It is thus possible to overcome the problems inherent in manufacturing tolerances and to obtain an uninterrupted junction between the bracelet and the watch case without having to manually resume the trim parts, which is advantageous from the aesthetic point of view and economic.

figure 3 is a perspective and exploded view of the mechanical device that brings closer to the watch case the link provided to connect the bracelet to the watch case.
The present invention proceeds from the general inventive idea of providing a system for connecting a bracelet to a watch case by means of a link, this system comprising means which allow the link to come against the watch case. By having the possibility of bringing the terminal link of the wristband to the watch case, it is possible to compensate for any gaps between the bracelet and the watch case inherent to the sintering technique and to obtain an uninterrupted connection between the bracelet and the box. of watch, which is very advantageous from the aesthetic point of view.
As explained in the introductory part of the present patent application, these sets d1 and d2 come from manufacturing tolerances of the
The present invention solves this problem by providing a link having a particular structure to establish the mechanical connection without play between the bracelet and the watch case.

According to the invention, the first
The assembly is completed by a mechanical adjustment device comprising one and, preferably, two adjusting
To adjust the position of the

It goes without saying that the present invention is not limited to the embodiment which has just been described and that various modifications and simple variants can be envisaged by those skilled in the art without departing from the scope of the invention as defined by the claims appended to this patent application. In particular, it will be understood that although it has been described in connection with a bracelet link and a watch case made at least partially of a ceramic material, the present invention can be applied identically to links and housings made of another hard material such as steel.
