Definitions
- the present invention relates to a clasp for a bracelet of a piece of jewellery, jewelery or timepieces. It also relates to a bracelet comprising such a clasp, and to a piece of jewellery, jewelery or timepieces comprising such a clasp.
- the first solution is simple and consists in providing the ends of each strand with cooperation means, for example in the form of a simple loop and a barb on the one hand cooperating with holes on the other hand.
- cooperation means for example in the form of a simple loop and a barb on the one hand cooperating with holes on the other hand.
- Such a solution has the drawback that when the cooperation means are opened, the two strands of the bracelet are immediately separated and entail a risk of the bracelet falling.
- Another solution consists in providing an intermediate element of the clasp type, arranged between the two bracelet strands, which always remains integral with the ends of these two strands.
- a clasp occupies two configurations: a closed configuration, provided for wearing the bracelet, in which the bracelet and the clasp extend around the circumference of the wrist while having a total length allowing the bracelet to be held, and an open or deployed configuration which makes it possible to increase the length of the clasp and therefore of the bracelet, by separating the two ends of the two strands of the bracelet, without detaching them from the clasp, to allow the passage of the hand and the removal of the bracelet.
- the two strands of the bracelet are not separated, which minimizes the risk of the bracelet falling off, which is for example advantageous in the case of a wristwatch.
- a first objective is the search for a optimal comfort when wearing the bracelet and a successful aesthetic effect of the bracelet incorporating the clasp. For this, it is advantageous for the clasp to best match the contour of a wrist, even a small wrist, when the clasp is in the closed configuration.
- a second objective is to achieve a large opening surface of the bracelet in the deployed configuration of the clasp, to facilitate the passage of a hand.
- a difficulty in the production of a clasp therefore consists in defining the compromise between the fact of adequately and comfortably fitting the wrist of a wearer of a wristwatch, the fact of producing an aesthetic effect and the fact of 'provide a large enough opening for the passage of the wearer's hand.
- the document CH641332A describes a bracelet clasp according to the preamble of claim 1.
- a general object of the present invention is to provide a clasp for a bracelet which makes it possible to achieve an optimal aesthetic effect, and maximum reliability and user-friendliness in its opening and closing function.
- the invention relates to a clasp for a bracelet comprising a central blade and two mobile blades, each mobile blade being articulated at the level of a longitudinal end of the central blade, each mobile blade having two lateral arms intended to be housed outside the lateral surfaces of the central blade in the closed configuration, these two lateral arms comprising a first free end connected by a first pin to a longitudinal end of the central blade, characterized in that the two lateral arms comprise a second end adapted to receive a second connecting pin with a bracelet strand, the central blade comprising a hollow portion in its central upper surface to receive such a second pin arranged at the second end of the side arms in the closed configuration of the clasp.
- Each movable blade may comprise a U-shape, with a transverse rod which connects the two arms at their second end, said transverse rod comprising a transverse opening capable of receiving a second connecting pin with a wristband strand.
- the lower surface of the central blade can be planar or of inverted convexity with respect to its upper surface.
- the bracelet clasp may comprise at least one device for fixing each mobile blade arranged in the central blade for holding the mobile blades in the closed configuration of the clasp.
- the fixing device can be a ball/spring assembly or an elastic blade.
- the central blade may include at least one transverse opening on either side of its hollow portion to receive in each of said transverse openings a fixing device comprising two ball/spring assemblies.
- the bracelet clasp may comprise a hollow zone and an abutment arranged in the surface of at least one lateral arm to cooperate with a fastening device in the closed configuration of the clasp.
- the geometry of the side arms of the mobile blades can be adapted to that of the central blade so that they do not protrude in the vertical direction either from the upper surface or from the lower surface of the central blade in the closed configuration of the clasp.
- the vertical direction is perpendicular to the lower and upper surfaces.
- the invention also relates to a bracelet, characterized in that it comprises two bracelet strands connected by a clasp as described above.
- the first links of each bracelet strand may include hollow areas for housing at least part of the clasp in the closed configuration of the clasp.
- the invention also relates to a piece of jewellery, jewelery or timepieces, characterized in that it comprises a bracelet as described previously.
- THE figures 1 to 5 illustrate a clasp 1 according to one embodiment of the invention.
- a clasp comprises three blades, a central blade 2 surrounded by two movable blades 12, arranged symmetrically by a connection movable in rotation around a first axis 10 arranged at each longitudinal end of the central blade 2.
- Each movable blade 12 comprises a second axis 30 arranged at its longitudinal end opposite to that linked to the central blade 2, by which it is capable of being linked to a bracelet strand, as will be described later in relation to the figures 12 to 15 .
- THE figures 2 to 4 represent the clasp in the closed configuration, in which each mobile blade 12 is folded over the central blade 2.
- the ends of each mobile blade 12 intended to receive the fixing of a bracelet strand come close to one of the other, in contact or quasi-contact, in the central part of the central blade 2.
- a fixing device 20 allows the stable maintenance of this closed configuration of the clasp, which will be detailed later.
- THE figures 7 and 8 more precisely represent the central blade 2 of the clasp 1 according to the embodiment of the invention.
- This central blade 2 is narrow in the transverse direction since it is intended to be laterally covered by the arms of the movable blades 12, as will be specified later.
- This width in the transverse direction represents substantially half of the total width of the clasp.
- a hollow portion 4 is arranged in the central part of the upper surface 5 of the central blade 2, intended to receive transverse rods 14 of the movable blades 12, as is particularly visible on the figure 5 .
- the upper surface has a rounded, convex shape, substantially following the shape of a wrist.
- the lower surface 3 of the central strip 2 intended to come into direct contact with a wrist, has a substantially planar central part, or even, surprisingly, a slightly inverted convexity with respect to the wrist.
- This shape allows maximization of the height (that is to say the thickness) of the central blade 2 in its central part, height measured in the vertical direction, so as to be able to form a hollow portion 4 of sufficient size to receive the transverse rods 14.
- the convexities of the two upper 5 and lower 3 surfaces are adapted to increase the height of the central blade at its center. This increase is also adapted to the material chosen for the central blade, because it also makes it possible to achieve a form of sufficient mechanical strength.
- transverse 6 and through openings are arranged, in a zone of considerable height of the central blade 2, advantageously making it possible to receive fixing devices 20 for the movable blades, which will be specified later.
- two transverse openings 6 are arranged on either side of the hollow portion 4.
- a transverse opening 9 is arranged at each longitudinal end of the central blade 2, designed to receive a first axis 10 for the pivoting of a movable blade 12.
- FIG 9 represents a movable blade 12 of the clasp according to the embodiment of the invention.
- a movable blade has a U-shape, comprising two side arms 13 intended to be housed outside the side surfaces of the central blade 2 in the closed configuration, as represented by the figures 2 to 4 .
- the two lateral arms 13 comprise a first connected free end, provided with an opening 19 provided to receive the first axis 10 of pivoting connection at one end of the central blade 2.
- the movable blade 12 further comprises a transverse rod 14, forming the base of the U-shape, connecting the two side arms 13 on their second end.
- This transverse rod 14 comprises a transverse opening 18 intended to receive the second pin 30 for connection with a bracelet strand.
- each arm 13 comprises a hollow area 15 in its inner surface, intended to cooperate with a fixing device, which will be described below.
- the two transverse rods 14 of respectively the two mobile blades 12 are housed in the hollow portion 4 of the central blade 2, and the side arms 13 of each mobile blade are positioned around the central blade, against the right and left side surfaces of the central blade, in quasi contact.
- the movable blades and the central blade are thus positioned substantially in the same horizontal plane.
- the shape of the hollow portion 4 is adapted to the transverse rods 14, so that these rods are entirely arranged in these hollow portions, in particular do not protrude or little from the upper surface 5 of the blade central 2.
- the hollow portion 4 comprises a convex rounded bottom, having a higher surface in the central part, thus forming two housings delimited substantially by walls in portions of a circle, of radius of curvature adapted to the transverse rods 14 cylindrical.
- the side arms 13 have a height and a shape corresponding to the central strip 2, so that these side arms 13 do not protrude from the central strip 2 in the vertical direction in the closed configuration of the clasp. This arrangement makes it possible to minimize the size of the clasp in the closed configuration, to minimize its impact on the whole of a bracelet, as will be illustrated below.
- each fixing device 20 comprises a substantially cylindrical body 21, comprising on each open end a ball 22 subjected to the stress of a helical spring 23, in prestressed configuration. At rest, as represented by the figures 10 and 11 , each helical spring 23 exerts a force on the associated ball 22, oriented towards the outside of the fixing device 20. Each ball 22 is thus held in abutment against an inner side wall of the fixing device while projecting from this device at the level at both ends.
- a fixing device 20 is configured to be positioned in a transverse opening 6 of the central blade 2, so that each of the two balls 22 projects outside the respectively left and right side walls of the central blade.
- the arms 13 of the movable blades 12 bear against the projecting balls 22, inducing their temporary retraction inside the fixing device 20 against the forces exerted by the springs 23 partners.
- the balls 22 are positioned opposite the hollow zones 15 arranged in the inner surface of these arms 13, which allows the balls 22 to return to their rest position protruding, under the effect of their associated springs.
- the balls 22 are thus housed in the hollow zones 15 of the arms 13 of the movable blades 12.
- Each hollow zone 15 comprises a horizontal surface, even chamfered, delimiting it, positioned in the lower part in the closed configuration of the clasp, which thus forms a stop 16 by coming to bear against the balls 22, as shown in the figure 6 , preventing the opening movement of the movable blades 12 upwards and thus ensuring the holding function.
- This arrangement in particular the force exerted by the springs 23, is designed to prevent the inadvertent opening of the clasp 1, while allowing it to be opened by a voluntary effort of a user.
- FIG. 12 illustrates the clasp assembled with two bracelet strands 40, by the second axes 30 of the two movable blades 12, as mentioned above.
- the clasp is in its deployed configuration, has a total length corresponding to the sum of the lengths of the central blade 2 and of the two movable blades 12, which makes it possible to greatly increase the total length of the bracelet for the passage of a hand.
- FIG 13 illustrates the same bracelet with its clasp in the open position, seen from below. This makes it possible to illustrate that the first links 42 of each bracelet strand, close to a mobile blade, have a hollow zone 45 in their lower surfaces, of geometry allowing the at least partial accommodation of one half of the clasp in configuration closed, to hide it and minimize its aesthetic impact in the closed configuration of the clasp.
- FIG 14 illustrates an intermediate phase of closing the clasp of the bracelet represented by the figures 12 and 13 .
- the two blades are pivoted around their respective first axis 10, until reaching the closed configuration represented by the figure 15 .
- the two transverse rods 14 and therefore the second axes 30 are inserted into the hollow portion of the central blade 2 of the clasp, which makes it possible to bring the upper surface of each end of bracelet strand 40 almost in contact, forming in top view an impression of a continuous bracelet, without vision of the clasp.
- This impression is reinforced by the fact that the clasp is then housed in whole or in part in the hollow zones 45 of the first links 42 of the bracelet strands.
- the clasp 1 is almost invisible in the closed configuration.
- This construction thus has the advantage of making it possible to achieve optimum aesthetics, since the clasp is hidden in the closed configuration, the bracelet appearing continuous.
- the links of the bracelet thus have a width greater than that of the clasp.
- This width may be greater than or equal to 30%, or even 50%, or even twice the width of the clasp.
- the different blades of the clasp can be made of a metal or a metal alloy, such as titanium, or ceramic.
- they can be made of plastic material, such as PEEK, or of composite material, such as a carbon-based composite.
- the invention also relates to a part which may be a bracelet. It thus also relates to a timepiece, such as a wristwatch, which may include such a wristband. More generally, it also relates to a piece of jewellery, jewelery or timepieces, which includes such a bracelet.
- the fixing device 20 could be different.
- the number of balls of the ball/spring assemblies could be different.
- the fixing device could be formed by means other than a ball/spring assembly, for example by another device comprising an elastically movable fixing element.
- This fastening element can be formed by a lateral elastic blade obtained directly by a cut in the material of the central blade of the clasp.
- the shape of the clasp elements could be different.
- the movable blades always include two side arms making it possible to come against the side faces of the central blade.
- they do not necessarily have a U-shape, the second connecting pin 30 being able to replace the transverse rod 14.
Description
The present invention relates to a clasp for a bracelet of a piece of jewellery, jewelery or timepieces. It also relates to a bracelet comprising such a clasp, and to a piece of jewellery, jewelery or timepieces comprising such a clasp.
There are several solutions for hanging the two strands of a bracelet around the wearer's wrist. The first solution is simple and consists in providing the ends of each strand with cooperation means, for example in the form of a simple loop and a barb on the one hand cooperating with holes on the other hand. Such a solution has the drawback that when the cooperation means are opened, the two strands of the bracelet are immediately separated and entail a risk of the bracelet falling.
To overcome this drawback, another solution consists in providing an intermediate element of the clasp type, arranged between the two bracelet strands, which always remains integral with the ends of these two strands. Such a clasp occupies two configurations: a closed configuration, provided for wearing the bracelet, in which the bracelet and the clasp extend around the circumference of the wrist while having a total length allowing the bracelet to be held, and an open or deployed configuration which makes it possible to increase the length of the clasp and therefore of the bracelet, by separating the two ends of the two strands of the bracelet, without detaching them from the clasp, to allow the passage of the hand and the removal of the bracelet. In this open configuration of the clasp, the two strands of the bracelet are not separated, which minimizes the risk of the bracelet falling off, which is for example advantageous in the case of a wristwatch.
To simplify the description, we will use by convention the terms "longitudinal direction" for the direction along the length of a bracelet strand or clasp, and "transverse direction" for the direction perpendicular, in the plane of a bracelet strand (depending on its width) or of a clasp. The vertical direction is the direction perpendicular to the first two directions, oriented perpendicular to the plane of the bracelet or of the clasp. On the other hand, we will use the term “mesh” for an elementary component of a bracelet. By "bracelet", we will designate either the bracelet as a whole, clasp included or not, or one or other of the strands of the bracelet. We use the adjectives "upper" and "lower" to designate a surface or an element positioned respectively on the side opposite the wrist and on the side of the wrist, considering the situation in which the clasp and the bracelet are positioned around a wrist, or by extension as they are configured to come around a wrist. We will use the adjective “lateral” to designate a surface or an element positioned towards the ends of the clasp and of the bracelet considered in a transverse direction. The lateral ends of the clasp will advantageously be formed by longitudinal vertical flanks.

As a side note, the links of the bracelet thus have a width greater than that of the clasp. This width may be greater than or equal to 30%, or even 50%, or even twice the width of the clasp.
The different blades of the clasp can be made of a metal or a metal alloy, such as titanium, or ceramic. As a variant, they can be made of plastic material, such as PEEK, or of composite material, such as a carbon-based composite.
As mentioned above, the invention also relates to a part which may be a bracelet. It thus also relates to a timepiece, such as a wristwatch, which may include such a wristband. More generally, it also relates to a piece of jewellery, jewelery or timepieces, which includes such a bracelet.
Naturally, the invention is not limited to the embodiment described. In particular, the fixing
In particular, the movable blades always include two side arms making it possible to come against the side faces of the central blade. However, they do not necessarily have a U-shape, the second connecting
