Definitions

  • Rolling tube system and shielding system comprising such a rolling tube system
  • the invention relates to a rolling tube system for rolling up and unrolling for instance a sunblind, a roll-down shutter, a rolling door and the like, comprising a hollow rolling tube having therein a drive comprising an electric motor and an output shaft .
  • a sunblind, a roll-down shutter, a rolling door and the like are embodiments of a roll-up screen.
  • Such rolling tube systems are for instance known for sunblinds, roll-down shutters and rolling doors.
  • the known rolling tube system is usually situated in a housing fixedly mounted on the outer wall of a building. Wound for instance round the tube is a sunblind which can be lowered by rolling the rolling tube and which can, if necessary, also be rolled back onto the tube.
  • the output shaft of the electric motor in the tube usually forms the input shaft of a reducing device which is coupled to a catch.
  • the catch drives the tube.
  • the tube is provided with a keder groove in which the sunblind is attached with a keder or a string. The inner side of the keder groove provides an internal protrusion inside the tube.
  • the known rolling tube systems have a number of drawbacks.
  • the rolling tube thus rotates round the electric motor and has to run freely relative thereto. This limits the size of the electric motor, all the more so in that the protrusion formed on the inner side by the keder groove further limits the possible space for an electric motor.
  • the keder groove is omitted at the position of the motor, this local omission entails extra costs for the construction of the tube and for fitting of the web, while it is still not possible to utilize the whole inner space of the tube. Because the electric motor remains clear of the outer surface and is further enclosed in the tube, there is practically no heat discharge from the electric motor, whereby it can only operate continuously for a very limited time.
  • the present invention has for its object to provide a rolling tube system wherein the above stated drawbacks do not occur, or hardly so. This object is achieved with the rolling tube system according to claims 1 and 22 and the screening system according to claim 16.
  • the stator will drive the rolling tube directly.
  • This makes it possible to utilize the whole diameter of the hollow rolling tube for the electric motor. This results in more space for the electric motor and provides more freedom in the design of such an electric motor. This makes it possible in practice to arrange a heavier motor with a greater diameter inside the same tube. It is further possible to dispense with the coupling of the output shaft via a catch to the rolling tube.
  • the electric motor in a rolling tube system according to the invention preferably lies with its whole external surface against the inner surface of the rolling tube. Heat can hereby be discharged from the electric motor over a large area via the rolling tube.
  • a reducing unit can also be incorporated in the drive according to the invention.
  • An output shaft of the electric motor forms here the input shaft of the reducing unit and the output shaft of the reducing unit is the output shaft of the drive.
  • An external surface of the reducing unit has to be coupled to the internal surface of the rolling tube.
  • the rolling tube When heavier loads will be rolled up and unrolled in a substantially vertical direction with the rolling tube system, it is advantageous to arrange in the rolling tube a torsion spring which is attached at an outer end to the rolling tube and another outer end of which is fixedly coupled to a second stationary element, preferably in the form of a guide, situated outside the tube such that rotation of this other outer end relative to the second stationary element is prevented.
  • a second stationary element preferably in the form of a guide
  • the couplings of both the output shaft and the torsion spring to respectively the first stationary element and the second stationary element can be a fixed connection to the relevant stationary element.
  • a fixed connection can be a random fixed connection, such as by means of screwing, welding and the like.
  • the rolling tube system according to the invention can be used particularly in installations in which a rolling tube co-displaces with the rolling up and unrolling and therein rolls itself up in or unrolls itself from for instance the web of a sunblind along a rolling direction.
  • a rolling tube can be arranged at the outer end to be unrolled or lowered, or for instance in the centre of a sunblind, so that when the sunblind is unrolled the rolling tube also moves downward and when it is rolled up the rolling tube co-displaces upward.
  • the first and the second stationary element form a guide with a substantially U-shaped profile, wherein the longitudinal direction of the guide lies at a right angle to an axis of the output shaft or of the torsion spring, and the output shaft or the torsion spring is preferably provided at an outer end with an elongate end part movable in the longitudinal direction inside the U-shape of the associated stationary element. Because these elongate end parts move inside the U-shape of the associated stationary element, this U-shape prevents rotation of the elongate end parts, and thereby rotation of the torsion spring and of the output shaft of the drive. The elongate end parts slide along with the moving rolling tube inside the U-shape.
  • the friction between the elongate end part and one of the legs of the U-shaped guide may become considerable.
  • the elongate end part is advantageous for the elongate end part to be provided with at least a roll for rolling movement along at least one of the legs of the U-shape.
  • a sliding movement is hereby replaced with a rolling movement, which in principle results in less friction.
  • the hollow rolling tube is provided with coupling means for coupling to said roll-up screen.
  • the hollow rolling tube can further have an electrical connection which is electrically connected to the electric motor, and preferably to the stator of the electric motor. This electrical connection can be coupled to or integrated into the coupling means and/or be placed fixedly on an outer surface of the rolling tube.
  • the rolling tube system comprises a rolling tube provided with at least a keder groove for the purpose of attaching therein the sunblind, the roll-down shutter or rolling door and the like, and the keder groove forms an internal protrusion on the inner side of the rolling tube, there is arranged in the outer periphery of the stator of the electric motor a groove which enters into the engagement with said protrusion. Together with the fitting groove in the outer periphery of the stator of the electric motor this protrusion forms here the coupling of the stator of the electric motor to the hollow rolling tube.
  • the rolling tube system it is further not necessary to interrupt the keder groove at the position of the tube motor, which saves costs of the rolling tube and assembly of the system.
  • a passage can also be made at the position of the keder groove for the purpose of realizing an electrical connection for external power supply to the electric motor.
  • the rolling tube of the rolling tube system according to the invention is situated halfway along or on a determined part of the blind, shutter and the like to be rolled up and unrolled
  • the rolling tube can be provided with second keder grooves, the two internal protrusions of which engage in the associated groove in the stator of the electric motor .
  • the electric motor is advantageous for the electric motor to be fed by a power supply situated in the rolling tube, wherein the power supply comprises at least a battery.
  • the power supply in the rolling tube will also comprise a converter in addition to a battery.
  • the system is also provided with a control situated in the rolling tube and sensors connected to the control .
  • sensors can for instance be rotation measuring devices or power measuring devices, for instance for the purpose of measuring the number of rotations and/or for the purpose of measuring the power consumed.
  • control can be programmed using a remote control. It is hereby possible to determine for instance the number of rotations the rolling tube must roll in a determined direction. It is hereby also possible to set for instance the maximum time for which the rolling tube may roll in a determined direction .
  • the system in which a power supply is situated inside the rolling tube, it is advantageous for the system to be provided with a charging device, a part of which is situated inside a rolling tube and another part of which is situated at a stationary position outside the rolling tube, wherein these parts are coupled electrically or electromagnetically when the rolling tube is in a predetermined position, this position being set in the control .
  • the battery can hereby be charged in the rolling tube, for instance by placing the charging device at fixed preferred positions, such as the rolled-up position or the unrolled position, or both.
  • the part of the charging device situated outside the rolling tube can be coupled electrically to the part situated inside the rolling tube, for instance in that the rolling tube is provided on the outer side with contacts which make contact in this position with contacts of the external part of the charging device. It is also possible for the charging to take place through induction. It must however be ensured for this purpose that, when the rolling tube is in a charging position, it is not provided at the appropriate locations with a continuous metal sleeve, but that electromagnetic openings are arranged in the rolling tube for this purpose. These openings can of course be formed by a plastic with suitable electromagnetic properties. It is also possible to envisage a rolling tube system wherein the two end parts lie in the same stationary element or wherein the two end parts are also the same.
  • the present invention also provides a screening system as defined in claim 16.
  • This system comprises an embodiment of the above described rolling tube system coupled to a roll-up screen.
  • the screening system comprises an electrical power supply unit and an electrical connection, such as an electrical cable or cord, for the purpose of electrically connecting the electrical power supply unit to the electrical connection of the hollow tube.
  • the electrical connection is connected fixedly to the roll-up screen and/or is at least partially integrated in the roll-up screen.
  • This embodiment provides the advantage that the electrical connection is rolled up together with the roll-up screen. In such embodiments there is thus no, or hardly any, danger of the electrical connection becoming tangled during translation of the rolling tube.
  • the electrical power supply unit is formed by solar panels mounted on the roll-up screen or integrated therein. Such solar panels can be used to charge a battery optionally present in the rolling tube.

  • Fig. 2 shows a cross-sectional front view of a system of fig. 1;
  • Fig. 3 shows a cross-section along the line III-III of fig.
  • Fig. 4 shows a cross-sectional front view of another part of the rolling tube system of fig. 2;
  • Fig. 5 shows a front view of an application of the rolling tube system according to the invention in a rolling door
  • Fig. 6 shows a schematic cross-sectional view of an embodiment of the rolling tube system according to the invention with a charger.
  • Figures 1, 2 and 3 show schematically the general principle of an embodiment of a rolling tube system according to the invention.
  • Fig. 1 shows a perspective view of a part of a rolling tube system according to the invention, with a rolling tube 1 which ends in a guide 2 running vertically in the drawing and forming the first stationary element. The drawing shows only a part of the rolling tube, which is deemed in the drawing to continue further to the right.
  • Fig. 1 further shows a first end part 3 and a roll 4 mounted thereon. Roll 4 is mounted rotatably on first end part 3.
  • the rolling tube system is intended for the purpose of rolling up and unrolling for instance a sunblind, a roll-down shutter, rolling door and the like.
  • Rolling tube 1 can rotate for this purpose about a central longitudinal axis and move up and downward essentially in the longitudinal direction of guide 2 when the tube for instance rolls up or unrolls a screen.
  • Guide 2 is an essentially U-shaped element wherein an outer end of the rolling tube lies inside the legs of the U. During rolling up and unrolling the roll 4 will move in rolling manner along one of the legs of U-shaped guide 2.
  • Fig. 2 is a cross-sectional front view of the rolling tube system shown in fig. 1. Shown once again in fig. 2 is rolling tube 1 which protrudes into guide 2. The only visible part of guide 2 is one of the side parts which forms a leg of the U of the U-shaped cross-section of guide 2. Roll 4 supports rollably against one of the legs of the U. This forms the coupling of output shaft 8 of the drive to guide 2 as first stationary element.
  • Electric motor 4 is mounted on or forms part of first end part 3. Electric motor
  • Fig. 3 shows a cross-section through rolling tube 1 along the line III-III of fig. 2.
  • Fig. 3 shows rolling tube 1 with rotor 5' and a stator 5'' of electric motor 5 therein.
  • Fig. 3 further shows that rolling tube 1 is provided with two keder grooves 18.
  • Keder grooves 18 serve to engage keders arranged in outer ends of parts of the sunblind which is rolled up and unrolled by the rolling tube system according to the invention. So that the screen can be fixedly engaged by the rolling tube, the screen is provided at an outer end with a so-called keder or with a string which provides a substantially round thickened portion along the whole longitudinal direction of the screen. This thickened portion is then slidable in a groove such as the keder grooves 18.
  • Keder grooves 18 provide an internal protrusion in the interior of rolling tube 1. This internal protrusion fits closely into a recess arranged on the exterior of stator 5' ' of electric motor 5. Electric motor 5 and rolling tube 1 are hereby connected fixedly to each other in the rotation direction of the rolling tube . It should further be noted that stator 5' ' of electric motor 5 lies with its whole external surface against the internal surface of rolling tube 1. This achieves a good heat transfer between electric motor 5 and rolling tube 1.
  • the external surface of reducing device 7 has the same cross-section as that of stator 5'' of electric motor 5.
  • the reducing device is hereby also fixedly connected with its external surface to rolling tube 1 in the rotation direction thereof via the internal protrusion of the keder groove.
  • Fig. 2 further shows power supply 9 which is connected to electric motor 5 in a manner not further shown.
  • electric motor 5 When electric motor 5 is now actuated by power supply 9, the outer side of reducing device 7 and stator 5' ' will begin to rotate and drive rolling tube 1 via the fixed connection, particularly at keder grooves 18, as a result of the fact that stator 5'' of electric motor 5 and the external surface of reducing device 7 are fixedly connected in rotation direction to rolling tube 1 and due to the fact that output shaft 8 of reducing device 7 is prevented from rotating by first end part 3 with roll 4 which supports against one of the sides of guide 2.
  • This method of driving achieves that the diameter of electric motor 5 can be increased relative to the prior art drive, while it is possible to dispense with complicated catch constructions for driving rolling tube 1.
  • the direct contact of the whole external surface of electric motor 5 with rolling tube 1 further ensures a good heat discharge from electric motor 5 to the outside via the rolling tube, which considerably improves the cooling of electric motor 5 relative to the prior art, whereby a higher power electric motor or a longer uninterrupted operating time is made possible.
  • power supply 9 normally comprises a battery, but can if necessary also comprise power electronics, such as for instance a converter when electric motor 5 is an alternating current motor.
  • Fig. 2 further shows that a control 10 is connected to power supply 9.
  • This control is further connected to sensors, such as rotation sensors for measuring the number of rotations or sensors for measuring the power taken up by the electric motor.
  • Control 10 is further provided with a radiographic interface, and control 10 can be programmed using a remote control which is not further shown in the drawing.
  • Fig. 4 shows a view similar to fig. 2, but of another part of the rolling tube system according to the invention, namely at the other outer end of rolling tube 1 than that shown in fig. 2.
  • Fig. 4 shows a torsion spring 11 which is attached at one outer end to a disc 12 and attached at another outer end to the second end part 13.
  • Disc 12 lies in radial direction with its outer surface against the inner surface of rolling tube 1, including the internal protrusion of the keder grooves present therein, and rotation of disc 12 relative to rolling tube 1 is hereby prevented. On the side of disc 12 torsion spring 11 will therefore co-rotate with rolling tube 1.
  • torsion spring 11 At the other outer end torsion spring 11 is fixedly attached to second end part 13, which is guided in guide 2' by rolls 4 in similar manner as first end part 3.
  • Guide 2' here fulfils the function of the second stationary element.
  • Torsion spring 11 can for instance be tensioned during unrolling and thereby compensate the weight of the unrolled material. This makes it possible either to suffice with a lower power electric motor or to perform the rolling up in accelerated manner.
  • the second end part 13 is embodied with two rolls 4. Also possible would have been to equip the second end part 13, just as first end part 3, with only one roll. It will conversely also be possible to equip first end part 3 with two rolls 4, as long as other structural conditions allow this.
  • Fig. 5 shows an application of the rolling tube system according to the invention in a rolling door.
  • the rolling door is arranged in an opening in a wall 15, wherein the opening in fig. 5 is bounded by guides 2, 2' and lintel 16.
  • the door consists of four flexible door parts 17 attached to three rolling tubes 1.
  • the upper flexible door part 17 is attached on the upper side to lintel 16.
  • the external surface of rolling tubes 1 is provided with two mutually opposite keder grooves 18.
  • rolling tubes 1 can also be mounted on the lintel and/or on the underside of the rolling door.
  • fig. 6 shows schematically a charging device for the battery in power supply 9 in a rolling tube system according to the invention.
  • rolling tube 1 comes to lie close to a charging station 19 which is only shown schematically here.
  • Charging station 19 has a fixed position and is for instance supplied from the mains electricity.
  • Charging station 19 can be an inductive charging station but can also be provided with slide contacts with which slide contacts arranged at suitable positions on the outer side of for instance rolling tube 1 make contact in this position.
  • Charging station 19 is shown here in fig. 6 at the position of power supply 9, although in practice it will probably be at a different location, this being determined by the structural conditions. What is important is that charging station 19 is situated in the vicinity of said contacts or in the vicinity of an inductive element which is in turn coupled to the battery of power supply 9.
