Claims (12)

  1. Device for cutting strappings (1) of box-like bales (2) by means of at least one cutter bar (3) that can be moved towards the bales (2), the bales (2) being guided along the cutter bar (3) by a conveying apparatus (5), and the cutter bar (3) being arranged on a side of the bales (2) pointing at right angles to the conveying direction (4),
    characterized in that at least two cutter bars (3) are arranged on adjacent sides of the bales (2), and the cutter bars (3) are guided in the conveying direction (4) in a traversing device (6) during the contact with the bales (2).
  2. Device according to Claim 1,
    characterized in that the traversing device (6) has the same speed in the conveying direction (4) as the conveying apparatus (5).
  3. Device according to Claim 1 or 2,
    characterized in that the conveying apparatus (5) is formed by a conveyor belt running under the bales (2).
  4. Device according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that at least one cutter bar (3) is arranged above the bales (2).
  5. Device according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that the bales (2) in the region of the cutter bars (3) are accompanied at the side by a side wall (7, 8), preferably on both sides of the conveying apparatus (5).
  6. Device according to one of the preceding claims,
    characterized in that at least one cutter bar (3) is arranged at the side of the bales (2), and the side wall (8) on the side of this lateral cutter bar (3) is connected to the traversing device (6).
  7. Device according to Claim 6, characterized in that at least one cutter bar (3) is arranged on both sides of the conveying apparatus (5).
  8. Device according to Claim 7, characterized in that in each case two bales (2) are located beside one another on the conveying apparatus (5), transversely with respect to the conveying direction (4).
  9. Device according to one of Claims 6 to 8, characterized in that the side wall (8) connected to the traversing device (6) has a slot (9), which permits a movement of the cutter bar (3) beyond this side wall (8) to the bales (2).
  10. Device according to either of Claims 6 and 9, characterized in that the ends, located in and/or counter to the conveying direction (4), of the side wall (8) connected to the traversing device (6) each cover the end of a stationary lateral side wall (7) following thereon, preferably in every position of the cutter bar (3).
  11. Device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the cutter bars (3) have at least one cutter (10) pointing towards the bales (2).
  12. Device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the bales (2) are formed from plastic, textile, fibrous material or waste paper bales having strappings (1) preferably running around on all sides.
