Bodenseitig liegt in dem Kanalabschnitt 17 ein endlos umlaufend geführtes Fördermittel 19 ein, welches eine erste Umlenkung durch die dargestellte Umlenkrolle 20 erfährt. Das Kantenschutzmittel 13 liegt mit seiner Schmalseite 21 auf dem Fördermittel 19 auf. Dabei dient das Walzenpaar 24 einer ausrichtungsgerechten Ausförderung und Übergabe an die angesprochen Anordnungseinrichtung. Ein wesentlicher Vorteil ist hier, dass die erste Walze 25 auch als Umlenkeinrichtung für das Fördermittel 19 dient oder aber mit einer Umlenkeinrichtung bewegungsgekoppelt ist. Claims (9)

  1. Strapping device for packaged items, in which, prior to the strapping operation, an assembling unit arranges an edge-protection means (13) on the packaged item and, after the strapping operation, the edge-protection means (13) is held by a strapping means on the packaged item, wherein an indexing drive conveys the edge-protection means (13) in the conveying direction (x) from a magazine (10) to the assembling unit, characterized in that the indexing drive comprises a continuously revolving conveying means (19) on which the edge-protection means (13) sits, and in that the frictional engagement between the conveying means (19) and the edge-protection means (13) required for the indexing motion is caused by the dead weight of the edge-protection means (13), wherein the indexing drive is part of a rail (28) which is deployable in the conveying direction (x) from the magazine.
  2. Strapping device according to Claim 1, characterized in that the edge-protection means (13) which is configured as a plate bears by way of a narrow side (21) on the conveying means (19).
  3. Strapping device according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the conveying means (19) on the base side is disposed in a duct portion (17), the duct side walls of which (16, 18) serve for positionally stabilizing the edge-protection means (13).
  4. Strapping device according to one of Claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the indexing drive, on the transfer end of the latter which is close to the assembling unit, has two casters or rollers (25/26) which are spaced apart from and opposite one another, between which the edge-protection means (13) is guided through to be transferred to the assembling unit.
  5. Strapping device according to Claim 4, characterized in that the casters or rollers (25/26) serve for positionally stabilizing the edge-protection means (13) during the transfer to the assembling means.
  6. Strapping device according to Claim 4, characterized in that the casters or rollers (25/26) accommodate the edge-protection means (13) in a frictionally engaging manner between them and at least one caster or roller (25) is driven in order to transfer the edge-protection means (13) to the assembling unit.
  7. Strapping device according to Claim 6, characterized in that the drive of the caster or roller (25) takes place by way of the conveying means (19) which acts as a drive belt.
  8. Strapping device according to Claim 6, characterized in that the driven caster or roller (25) serves as a drive for the conveying means (19).
  9. Strapping device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the edge-protection means (13) which bears on the conveying means (19) is extracted from the grouping of edge-protection means which is formed in the magazine.
