Definitions

  • the invention relates to a switching device for converting a mechanical movement into an electrical switching signal according to the preamble of claim 1 ..
  • a switching device according to the preamble of claim 1 is known from EP 1 670 012 A2 known.
  • the snap disk is encapsulated by a plastic housing.
  • the plastic housing is manufactured using the two-component injection molding process and has been successfully sold by the patent applicants for years under the product name Racon®.
  • the plastic housing also has a rigid as a support frame serving outer contour, in the center on the top of the housing a flexurally elastic thin-walled plastic layer is present, which rests directly on the top of the snap disk in the assembled state and which serves as a membrane.
  • a flexurally elastic thin-walled plastic layer is present, which rests directly on the top of the snap disk in the assembled state and which serves as a membrane.
  • Such switching devices are mass-produced articles, since they are often used to control a machine tool in considerable numbers.
  • the snap disc and the body form an air- or water-tight housing and characterized in that the snap disc is mounted directly on the circuit board and electrically conductive, for example by means of a soldered seam, connected thereto via the integrated or printed circuit boards in the circuit board, creates a resilient switching device in which the switching contact is encapsulated by the snap-action disc and the body, since the snap disc closes the electrical switching contact together with the body and the circuit board airtight or waterproof.
  • the snap-action disc is accessible from the outside in order to convert a mechanical actuation into an electrical switching signal.
  • An additional encapsulation or attachment of the snap-action disc for example by means of a plastic housing, is advantageously eliminated, so that in this way assembly and production costs are saved.
  • the switching contact is designed as a ball, because a positioning of the ball in the ground during the manufacturing process by injection molding is not necessary. Only the wall thickness of the body enclosing the ball in the form of a bottom is to be adapted to the diameter of the ball so that the ball protrudes on two opposite sides of the body to be accessible to the snap disk and to rest on the trace of the circuit board can , so that an electrically conductive contact between the ball made of an electrically conductive material and the respective conductor track is formed. It is also possible to design the electrical switching contact in its cross section as an H-shaped electrically conductive body. The bottom of the switching device extends between the two parallel legs of the H-shaped switching contact. The two outer sides of the legs of the H-shaped switching contact are freely accessible to bring them into operative connection with the snap-action disc and in electrical contact with the conductor track of the printed circuit board.
  • the snap-action disc Since forces are occasionally introduced on the snap-action disc when they are actuated, which lead to stresses, torsions or shears within the snap-action disc, it is necessary to make the snap-action disc as flexible as possible in bending in order to absorb such obliquely introduced forces.
  • at least two spaced-apart ring segments are on the outer circumference of the snap-action disc molded, or attached, which are aligned in the direction of the circuit board. These ring segments form inwardly angled feet for the snap-action disc on the circuit board and are connected to this mechanically and electrically conductive, for example by means of a soldered seam.
  • recesses are incorporated in the ring segments, which extend either almost over the entire length of the ring segments and parallel to the circuit board or which may also be aligned perpendicular to the circuit board.
  • the configuration and arrangement of the recesses usually depends on the expected actuation forces and their respective direction of introduction of these loads.
  • the snap disc and the body can thus be used simultaneously both as a housing and as a button, without further actuation or encapsulation aids are required.
  • the snap disc is rather freely accessible from the outside, to generate the corresponding switching contact.
  • FIG. 1 is a switching device 1 can be seen, which serves from a mechanical movement or actuation of a snap-action disc 6, an electrical switching signal for controlling a machine tool, an electrical device or the like. Serves.
  • Such switching devices 1 often form a switching field with adjacently arranged switching devices.
  • a circuit board 4 is provided, in which a plurality of interconnects 5 are incorporated or printed on the switching device 1 facing surface.
  • the snap disk 6 is associated with a body 2 in which a switching contact 3 is installed such that the switching contact 3 protrudes both in the direction of the snap disk 6 and in the direction of the circuit board 4 from the body 2 ,
  • the area of the switching contact 3 facing the printed circuit board 4 is connected in a stationary manner to the interconnect 5 present there.
  • the bottom of the body 2 is arranged at a distance from the printed circuit board 4. In essence, the body 2 is parallel to the circuit board 4th
  • the body 2 is made of an insulating material, such as plastic, ceramic or glass, and has a thin-walled wall thickness.
  • the wall thickness of the body 2 is dimensioned larger in its outer region 15, as in the center of the body 2.
  • Such a contour can be configured for example as a concave curved plane or as a spherical surface.
  • the body 2 together with the snap-action disc 6 forms a housing; Namely, the snap-action disk 6 surrounds the outer region 15 of the body 2, so that the interior space enclosed by the snap-action disk 6 and the body 2 is encapsulated airtight or watertight to the outside.
  • the snap disc 6 is designed such that it is curved in the unactuated state to the outside.
  • the peripheral outer edge of the snap-action disc 6 is bent in the direction of the body 2 or in the direction of the printed circuit board 4 and is firmly connected to the outer circumferential surface 2 'of the body 2.
  • the switching contact 3 is configured in cross-section as an H-shaped body 16.
  • the two parallel legs of the body 16 are arranged on the top and bottom of the body 2 and the middle connecting the legs web is encased by the body 2. Consequently, the body 16 projects beyond the thin-walled plastic body 2 both in the direction of the snap disk 6 and in the direction of the printed circuit board 4.
  • the snap disk 6 is made of a flexurally elastic electrically conductive material, so that on the one hand in the operation of the snap 6 it is pressed in the direction of the switching contact 3 from an upper reversal point to a lower reversal point, whereby a spring tension within the snap disk 6 is formed, and other in the effective contact between the underside of the snap-action disc 6 and the top of the switching contact 2, an electrically conductive connection between the snap-action disc 6 and the switching contact 3 is formed.
  • the switching contact 3 consists of a ball 17 which is inserted in the designed as a plastic body bottom 2, that the wall thickness of the bottom 2 is dimensioned smaller than the diameter of the ball 17.
  • the ball 17 dominates the ground 2 both in the direction of the snap disk 6 and in the direction of the circuit board 4th
  • FIG. 2a can be seen that four ring segments are formed or worked on the snap disk 6 on the outer circumferential surface, which are aligned in pairs in opposite directions to each other.
  • the ring segments 11 project beyond the body 2 and protrude in the direction of the printed circuit board 4.
  • the body segments 2 superior ring segments 11 are electrically conductively attached to the circuit board 4.
  • the free ends of the ring segments, which extend immediately adjacent to the printed circuit board 4, are designed plan and are in electrically conductive connection with the conductor tracks 5. Consequently, the snap disc 6 is electrically connected to the conductor tracks 5 of the printed circuit board 4.
  • FIGS. 2a . 2 B and FIGS. 3 and 4 show that a recess 12 has been incorporated into the respective ring segment 11.
  • the longitudinal axis of the recess 12 is designated by the reference numeral 14 and extends parallel to the printed circuit board 4 and arcuately about the center 7 of the snap-action disc 6.
  • Due the provided recesses 12 may be such resilient, so that such stresses, torsional forces or shear forces not directly to the free end of the respective ring segments 11th Tensions, torsions or shear forces that may arise within the snap disk 6 due to an oblique force or an off-center force application are transferred and thereby possibly the mechanical connection between the ring segments 11 and the circuit board 4 is destroyed.
  • the switching contact 3 is designed as a ball 17, can be dispensed with the appropriate orientation of the ball 17 in the manufacturing process; in contrast, in the H-shaped body 16, attention must be paid to its positioning during manufacture.
  • Both variants of the switching contact 3 have in common that the body 2 enveloping the respective switching contact 3 is injection-molded around the body 16 or the ball 17, and that parts of the body 16 and the ball 17 protrude out of the body 2.
  • Both the body 16 and the ball 17 are in the center of the bottom 2, so to be aligned with the center 7 of the snap-action disc 6.
  • a passage opening is incorporated in the body 2.
  • the snap-action disc 6 has at its center 7 the largest possible stroke.
  • the distance between the surface of the body 16 or the ball 17 and the underside of the snap-action disc 6 is identified by the reference numeral 9. It is particularly advantageous if the distance 9 between the snap-action disc 6 and the respective switching contact 3 is dimensioned so large that it corresponds exactly to the maximum stroke of the snap-action disc 6, from an upper reversal point, as in FIG. 2a shown in a lower reversal point, as in FIG. 2b pictured, can be transferred.
  • the snap-action disc 6 has resilient properties, so that the snap-action disc 6 springs back automatically when an actuating force no longer acts on the snap-action disc 6.
  • FIG. 4 it can be seen that the snap disk 6 can also be pressed by means of an actuator 10.
  • a cover 13 made of plastic or rubber is glued or snapped, which is thus firmly connected to the snap-6. Furthermore, the coating 13 has an actuating head, which extends centrally and thus in alignment with the center 7 of the snap-action disk 6.
  • the actuator head is used for improved power consumption.
