Definitions
- Backflow valves prevent, for example, during a flood, water from the sewer pipe is pushed through a drain pipe, and then flows out in the basement or living rooms and flooding them.
- a ball back pressure valve in which a floatable ball rests in a bypass between the drain pipe and sewer pipe in standby, which rises with a rise of the water level and closes the drain pipe. Disadvantageous in the wastewater contained solids and fouling of the sealing surface between outflow of the drain pipe and the ball and thus the failure of the valve.
- Another disadvantage is that the ball remains very long periods in their ready position and there glued due to residues from the wastewater with their circulation in the bypass pipe and then can not float.
- the object of the present invention is to overcome the above-mentioned disadvantages of the prior art and to propose a backwater valve, which operates with low maintenance and safety.
- the backflow valve according to the invention for preventing the rising of liquid from a sewage pipe into a drain pipe has a bypass channel, ie a channel which bypasses the connection of the drain pipe to the sewage pipe.
- the drainage pipe is arranged vertically and the sewage pipe approximately horizontally, so that the bypass duct then obliquely bridges the connection point of the drainage pipe with the sewage pipe.
- a floatable ball In the bypass channel, a floatable ball is movably arranged.
- the ball can assume an upper position and a lower rest position. In the lower position, the ball is held by a stop, so that the ball can not fall into the sewer pipe. In the upper position is the ball before the exit of the Drain pipe.
- Floatable ball here means that the ball floats in sewage.
- the bypass also has, spaced from its wall, a guide which guides the ball from the lower position to the upper position.
- a guide which guides the ball from the lower position to the upper position.
- the ball is prevented on the wall by attaching solids in their movement in the upper position.
- a round sealing element is also arranged, which has a larger diameter than the drain pipe.
- the sealing element overturns the outlet of the drain pipe in the bypass channel.
- solids escaping from the drainpipe do not stick to the sealing surface on which the ball rests, and the function of the backpressure valve is thus permanently secured.
- ball directly uses the outlet of the drainpipe as a sealing surface, sealing of the drainpipe by the ball is not possible if this area is uneven due to adhering solids or other debris, and so the ball is not tight can abut the sealing surface.
- the guide consists of at least two largely rigid wires, which are fixed in the bypass channel.
- the wires provide a guide of the ball so that it does not touch the wall, especially not the lower area, when ascending from the lower position to the upper position.
- the wires are secured with their ends in the bypass tube and the ball can roll on moving the wires from the lower to the upper position without touching the wall of the bypass channel.
- the guide consists of three or four wires, which are arranged such that the ball does not touch the bypass channel.
- three wires thereof two are arranged in the lower region of the wall, so that the ball can roll on this and one in the upper part, the touch of the Bypass channel in the upper area prevented by the ball.
- these are preferably approximately equally distributed over the circumference of the bypass channel in order to ensure a good guidance of the ball during its movement.
- the wires are anchored in the wall of the bypass channel. However, it is also possible to connect the wires to each other to form a cage, and then to secure this cage in the bypass channel.
- the wires are made of a stainless material, in particular of stainless steel or plastic.
- the sealing element is cylindrical or bell-shaped, or has the shape of a circular truncated cone. In its interior, the distance to the outlet of the drainpipe must be sufficient to accommodate the projecting into the sealing element segment of the ball.
- the backflow valve in the bypass channel preferably has an inspection opening for checking and cleaning the valve.
- the sealing element is made of plastic.
- the sealing element is made of an elastic material, such as rubber. This allows a better seal through the ball and also solids can harder to a rubber sealing element.
- the guide is fastened directly to the sealing element in the region of the upper position.
- FIG. 1 shows a drain pipe 1, which opens into a sewer pipe 2.
- a bypass channel 3 leads from the drain pipe 1 obliquely into the sewer pipe 2.
- the sealing element 5 is arranged.
- This is a cylindrical hollow body with a larger diameter than the drain pipe 1.
- the backwater valve in the bypass channel 3 has an inspection opening 8. For illustrative reasons is in FIG. 1 no leadership and no ball shown.
- FIG. 2 shows the back pressure valve according to the invention with a guide 4.
- This consists of four stainless steel wires, which are approximately equally distributed over the circumference of the bypass channel.
- the guide 4 is attached to the bypass channel 3.
- the guide 4 is attached directly to the sealing element. For representational reasons is in FIG. 2 the ball is not shown.
- FIG. 3 shows the back pressure valve with a ball in its lower position 6 and in its upper position 7.
- the ball is completely held by the guide 4 and touched at no point the bypass channel 3.
- the ball is directly the sealing element 5 supplied.
- the ball has no contact with the bypass channel and is also prevented by the guide 4 from entering the sewage pipe.

Abstract
Description
