Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a hair styling device or hair shaping, more particularly to the type curling iron or curling or rotary blower brush having a housing connected to at least one rotary heating body to perform the shaping of the hair by any type of heat.
  • Most hair shaping devices such as curling or curling irons comprise a handle supporting a heating mandrel and a pressure clamp mounted radially on the mandrel and intended to bring the hair in contact with the mandrel, in particular by passing from an open position allowing the insertion of the hair to a closed position for their contact with the heating mandrel. The transition from the open position to the closing position is done manually by pressing an opening lever of the pressure clamp.
  • the mandrel is heated and the end of a lock of hair is caught between the pressure clamp and the mandrel.
  • the rotation of the mandrel can be manual or automatic and allows the curling iron to wrap the rest of the wick around the mandrel.
  • the wrap of a lock of hair is made by at least partially winding the wick around the treatment surface (s) and applying heat to fix the loop mainly in static.
  • we wick the hair to the scalp it keeps in place a few seconds the wick rolled.
  • the heat changes the texture of the hair and allows them to take the shape of the mandrel, forming a loop.
  • the loop is then unwound by pulling on the mandrel or even by unlocking the wick by opening the lever or the clamp.
  • the document US4829156 describes winding a lock of hair around a heating mandrel by providing a rotational drive by an electric motor of the mandrel about its axis.
  • the end of a strand of hair is pinched by opening a tongue pivotally mounted around a hinge of the mandrel, then, by actuating a switch, the mandrel starts to rotate, thus allowing the automatic winding of the bit on the chuck, in both directions of rotation.
  • the part of the wick the longest in contact, and also the most fragile is the tip which is pinched between the lever and the heating mandrel.
  • the document US4841127 discloses a curling iron whose heating mandrel for receiving the lock of hair comprises two resistors operating at different temperatures (180 ° C and 240 ° C) connected in series and arranged along the mandrel. Resistance with the smallest temperature being closest to the handle. These two resistors are connected to switches for supplying one of the two resistors or the two resistors. The loop holding clamp closes the entire length of the mandrel. The lock of hair is in direct contact between the clamp and the mandrel.
  • the document WO98 / 07345A also discloses a curling iron having on its outer surface means for reducing the heating. Nevertheless, in operation of all these devices, often the tip of the treated lock is the most heated and / or is the most damaged for example by the creation of forks at the end of the hair. The tip of the lock is the most "sensitized" area of the wick. None of these documents discloses a curling iron respectful of the tip of the wick and representing a good loopback efficiency.
  • the object of the present invention is to combine in an optimized manner, on a electric curling apparatus, the efficiency in the formation of the curls and the respect of the tips of the treated locks.
  • Another object of the invention is to provide additional heating safety on a device to loop electric.
  • Another object of the present invention is to create a loop by an electric curler temperature controlled both effective and hair-friendly.
  • Another object of the present invention is to obviate the aforementioned drawbacks and to propose an electric curling apparatus that can be modulated according to the wishes of the user.
  • Another object of the invention is a hairdressing apparatus capable of providing the energy necessary for the proper treatment of the hair, in a fast, efficient and economical way.
  • Another object of the invention is a hairdressing device capable of ensuring good ergonomics and comfortable use, while being reliable in operation.
  • Another object of the invention is a hairdressing appliance of simplified structure and compact and can be industrialized for a low cost.
  • Another object of the invention is a hair treatment apparatus that allows an effective treatment of the hair, while being easy and convenient to use.
  • a hairdressing apparatus comprising a gripping means, a winding body of a lock of hair composed of a proximal portion to the gripping means and a distal portion by means of gripping, means for pinching the hair to hold the wick on the winding body, heating means of the winding body, where the proximal portion has on its outer surface means for reducing the heating. This reduces the heat emitted on the surface of the winding body which will be in contact with the tips of the wick, without reducing the heating temperature of the rest of the body and therefore without reducing its effectiveness.
  • the distal portion has no means of reducing the heating.
  • This distal part can be left “bare”.
  • the heating temperature in the distal portion of the gripping means is not changed or even reduced.
  • the heating reduction means comprise a ring made of thermally resistant and insulating material around the proximal portion. This ring therefore reduces the contact temperature of the proximal part of the mandrel.
  • This ring can be positioned permanently on the winding body or can be interchangeable.
  • the ring according to the invention may have a cylindrical shape with a substantially constant thickness. This makes the manufacturing simple and inexpensive.
  • the ring may have a cylindrical shape with cavities. These cavities may be open or closed, may for example take the form of honeycomb, all these constructions preferentially increasing the thermal insulation properties.
  • this ring is a piece of rubber or resin surrounding the proximal portion of said body.
  • a gum or resin introduces a drop in the temperature of the coated body and a thermal protection of the hair.
  • a deformable rubber makes it possible to solve the geometry problems between the winding body and the gripping means of the wick and ensures good compliance.
  • it also allows to introduce a coefficient of friction greater than that of the winding body to better hold the end of the wick during winding. Also, it is slightly extensible which allows a good removal or replacement of the ring.
  • This gum or resin may be essentially composed of silicone or elastomer or ethylene propylene diene monomer or leather or Velcro ® or similar material.
  • this ring is a thermally resistant paint applied to the proximal portion of said body.
  • This layer of paint applied in the factory remains permanently and does not change the size of the device very little.
  • the axial length of the proximal portion is between 20 and 50% of the axial length of said body, preferably between 30% and 40%. This relatively smaller length than that of the proximal part just keeps the tip of the wick.
  • the clamping means comprise a pivoting tile about an axis ⁇ transverse to the winding body, the length of said tile being substantially equal to that of the proximal portion. The user can operate the clamp to set up the wick.
  • the tile has on its inner surface for gripping the hair with the winding body secondary means of reducing hair heating arranged next to the heating reduction means of the winding body.
  • secondary means of reducing hair heating arranged next to the heating reduction means of the winding body.
  • the secondary heat reduction means comprise a layer of thermally resistant and insulating material, this layer possibly consisting essentially of gum or resin or can be a thermally resistant paint.
  • the hairdressing apparatus comprises means for driving in rotation the assembly formed of the winding body and the clamping means, and comprises a control unit for controlling said assembly in rotation.
  • the user can control by actuating a single button the motorized rotation in one direction or in one of the two directions of rotation.
  • the hairdressing apparatus 1 comprises a gripping means or handle 2, a winding body or mandrel 3 of a lock of hair in the extension of the gripping means, gripping means 7 to maintain the wick against the winding body in operation, drive means 8 in rotation of the winding body 3 about its longitudinal axis L.
  • the apparatus comprises a control unit 9 connected to actuating means 10 and programmed to control the drive means 8 of the winding body assembly 3 and gripper 7 according to one direction predetermined rotation (a button) or according to the chosen direction (two buttons).
  • the apparatus comprises temperature control buttons 13 so that the user can adjust and choose the heating temperature of the winding body, generally between 130 ° C and 230 ° C.
  • the hairdressing apparatus of the invention comprises first a heating coil body around which a lock of hair from one end thereof to the root of the hair will be wound by the user.
  • the winding can thus be completely manual.
  • the apparatus may comprise an additionally motorized winding body, capable of automatically winding a lock of hair from one end thereof to the root of the hair.
  • the end of the wick is fixed to the winding body by a gripping clamp, the rotational actuation of the winding body about its longitudinal axis to achieve the manual or automatic winding of the wick on the surface outer winding thereof.
  • the winding is automatic, it reduces the winding time and makes the operation easy for the user, the wick can thus quickly cover the outer surface of the winding body.
  • the fastening means may be a clamp 7 which extends over at least a part of the winding body or any other means for fixing the wick to the body by its free end and thus allowing the winding of the wick without that she does not slip.
  • the clamping means are able to pass from an open position without contact with the external surface of the body 3 to a closed position in contact with the external surface of the body 3. They can be actuated by a dedicated button 17 as illustrated in the figures.
  • the hairdressing apparatus 1 comprises on the winding body 3 only the proximal portion 3p of the winding body 3 having on its outer surface means for reducing the heating 31, 32.
  • the distal portion 3d of the winding body does not present any means of reducing the heating: it can for example be left bare.
  • the heating reduction means 31, 32 comprise a piece in the form of a ring made of thermally resistant material around the proximal portion of said body 3.
  • the ring may be a piece of rubber or resin 31 surrounding the proximal portion of said body 3.
  • the ring may also be in silione or ethylene propylene diene monomer or leather or Velcro ® or similar material to reduce the temperature emitted by the proximal portion of the winding body.
  • it may still be an elastomer such as EPDM (ethylene-propylene-diene monomer) or natural resin such as latex or EVA.
  • the ring may take the form of a cylinder or a truncated cone whose distal diameter is a little smaller than the proximal diameter. Generally the ring will have a thickness between 1 and 5mm preferably around 2mm, the thickness being constant.
  • the ring may be provided with longitudinal internal grooves.
  • the ring if it is made of gum or resin material may be deformable so that it can be installed and removed from the body by the user. The ring can be cleaned, or even be soaked with cosmetic product between two operations. It may be replaced by another ring identical or different thickness and / or axial length.
  • a set comprising a device to loop and several interchangeable rings. The material used is such that the ring can retract slightly when heated, still better adhering to the winding body.
  • the ring may be a coating in the form of a thermally resistant paint 32 applied on the proximal portion of said body 3.
  • the axial length of the proximal portion is between 20 and 50% of the axial length of said body 3, preferably between 30% and 40%. In the proposed construction, it is substantially equal to one third because the length of the body is 96mm and the length of the ring is 36mm.
  • the body is a cylinder having a substantially identical diameter throughout its length.
  • the winding body may have on its proximal length a smaller diameter than that of its distal length, this to receive the ring whose thickness will be equal to the difference in diameter so as not to form a protrusion on all the body and leave the ring visually unobtrusive.
  • the clamping means 7 may comprise a tile pivotally mounted relative to the winding body and about an axis ⁇ transverse to said body 3. Preferably the length of said tile is substantially equal to that of the proximal portion 3p of the body of winding.
  • the tile 7 may have on its inner surface for pinching the hair with the winding body 3 secondary means for reducing the heating 71 of the hair arranged facing the heating reduction means 31, 32 of the winding body.
  • the secondary heating reduction means 71 comprise a layer of thermally resistant material, this layer being essentially composed of gum or resin or possibly being a thermally resistant paint. If it is gum or resin, for example silicone, said layer will have a low coefficient of friction relative to the material of the clamp and will also better hold the tip of the wick. It is advantageous to have the same material or paint used facing the clamp and the proximal portion of the winding body.
  • the drive means 8 may be able to produce a rotation speed of between 5 and 50 rpm, or even between 10 and 40 rpm.
  • An advantageous value of rotation is around 30 rpm. It has been found, in laboratory tests, that this range of speeds makes it possible to produce most types of loops of different diameters, while ensuring good tensioning of the hair during winding.
  • the motor assembly as well as a microprocessor electronic card representing the control unit and all the electrical connections are contained in the handle 2 to better balance the masses within the device.
  • the drive means 8 may comprise an electric motor, preferably a geared motor. This represents a simple and reliable solution in operation, fits well in a compact and lightweight device, while avoiding the use of a clutch more bulky.
  • the actuating means 10 may comprise at least a first control knob 10 'for rotating the motor clockwise and a second control knob 10' for rotating the motor counterclockwise (or vice versa).
  • a first control knob 10 ' for rotating the motor clockwise
  • a second control knob 10' for rotating the motor counterclockwise (or vice versa).
  • These means for controlling the direction of rotation of the winding body allow the user, by operating at the beginning of operation these control means, to choose the direction of rotation and therefore the winding direction of the hair in order to obtain either an outer loop or an inner loop.
  • the clamping means 7 may have a shape of revolution (tile) where their radius of curvature means is greater than or equal to that of the winding body 3 in the same cross section of the apparatus.
  • a radius of the heating plate equal to that of the winding body allows the heating plate to marry well the periphery of the winding body, an upper radius allowing it to adapt to wicks of significant thickness.
  • the clamp can in closed position be in contact with the body as illustrated in Figures 1, 2 and 3 , and alternatively may leave a small gap with the body of the order of one or a few millimeters because the thickness of the wick will still allow it to be pinched between the two parts 3 and 7.
  • the radius r of the winding body can be between 5mm and 32mm, preferably between 10mm and 20mm.
  • An advantageous value of the radius r is substantially equal to 12mm.
  • the inner diameter of the ring will be substantially equal to the diameter of the body.
  • heating means 4 may be associated with the winding body 3. They may optionally be associated with means 9 for controlling its temperature.
  • the heating means may be at least one of the following means, alone or in combination: a conductive heated element, a radiation heating element, for example a resistive element (ceramic ).
  • the heating element is fixedly mounted with respect to the winding body 3 of the apparatus and receives the energy through conductors connected to those of the general supply cables of the apparatus which arrive in the handle 2.
  • the apparatus comprises means for adjusting the temperature of the winding body 3, for example in a range between 40 ° C. and 250 ° C., preferably between 140 ° C. and 230 ° C., an advantageous value being around 200.
  • the winding body 3 comprises an electric heating element, preferably of the CTP type and an associated temperature sensor, for example of the CTN type (not shown). It has been measured using thermocouples that by the addition of a silicone ring, the temperature on this ring is about 10 ° C to 30 ° C lower than that of the body at the same point without a ring in use.
  • the figure 6 illustrates one of these temperature measurements:
  • the measurement of the surface temperature of the middle of the winding body is the curve 1
  • the measurement of the surface temperature of the proximal portion of the winding body according to the invention (containing a silicone ring of constant thickness equal to 3 mm) is the curve 2
  • the surface temperature measurement of the proximal portion of the winding body according to the prior art is curve 3.
  • the two curling irons have been ordered at the same set point temperature of 190 ° C and the thermocouples were arranged at the same distal location.
  • the winding body 3 may comprise, inside, a heating means 4 fixedly mounted to the gripping means 2 and, outside, a tube rotatably mounted about the longitudinal axis L.
  • the winding body 3 may have an outer winding surface of the hair with a low coefficient of friction.
  • the body can thus have a substantially smooth surface.
  • the material may be painted aluminum.
  • the inner surface of the clamp 7 may be identical to the outer winding surface.
  • Such polished surfaces guarantee a good sliding of the hair during the winding and also during the demolding of the wick.
  • Surfaces can be made by mechanical polishing or electro polishing.
  • a coating used may be PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene), a paint (non-thermo protective), a ceramic layer, a chrome plating, anodizing, etc. It is the same for the material of the clamp 7.
  • the user begins by turning on the device which then controls the temperature setting of the winding body 3 to the temperature possibly set by the user.
  • a warning light can warn that the heating phase is over.
  • the user grabs a wick of hair and introduced the tip thereof between the winding body 3 and the clamp 7 after pivoting the clamp via the lever 17.
  • the The user actuates the button 10, 10 ', 10 "for example by pressing on its left part and controls the starting of the motor for example in the clockwise direction
  • the winding body 3 rotates and the wick is wound up to its
