Claims (5)
- Method for controlling a feeder of a saddle stitching machine, wherein signatures (7-9) are individually separated one after another, by means of at least one gripper (22, 26, 35-37), from a stack of a magazine (12) and are laid on a transport device (10), wherein opening and closing of the gripper (22, 26) and actuating of a stitcher (5) is remotely controlled by control signals of a control device (18, 50), characterised in that the control signals are generated from data regarding the dimensions and the page count of the signatures (7-9).
- Method according to claim 1, characterised in that before actuation of the gripper (22, 26), at least one of the following data regarding the signatures (7-9) is input into the control device (18, 50): the spine length (L), the sheet width (B), the sheet widths (B1, B2) when a low folio lap or a high folio lap is used, the grammage (g), the number (n) of pages.
- Method according to claim 1, characterised in that at least one of the following variables is controlled or regulated: the gripper opening position (αö), the gripper closing position (αs), the gripper closing force (F), the position of magazine side stops (14), the target value setting of a thickness measuring device for gathered signatures (7-9), the wire feed rate of the stitching apparatus (5), the movement of clinchers of the stitching apparatus (5) for bending over wire stitches.
- Method according to claim 1, characterised in that, on use of a gripper (22, 26) fastened to a circulating member (23), the control signals are additionally generated from signals of a rotary encoder (59), the output signals of which give the rotary position of the circulating member (23).
- Method according to claim 1, characterised in that, for actuating the gripper (22, 26), at least one pneumatically controllable working cylinder (38, 39) is used.
