This leads to a fast, efficient and especially high-quality knife sharpening.

Claims (9)

  1. A blade grinder (1) for grinding blades (5) with opposing cutters, for example mower blades, comprising a grinding stone (4) and a blade holder (2) which for setting the working angle is rotatably held relative to the grinding stone (4) on a first horizontal axis (8), wherein the first axis (8) for successive positioning of the two sides (23, 24) of the two-cutter blade (5) is rotatably held on a second, perpendicular, axis (10) that is arranged so as to be vertical relative to the first axis (8), characterised in that the blade holder (3) is designed in the manner of scales in order to balance the blade during the grinding process, and, provided said blade is heavier on one side than on the other side, to be able to balance out this difference during the grinding process.
  2. The blade grinder according to claim 1, characterised in that it comprises a grinding stone (4) that is slidable on a first straight line (17) and on a second straight line (18) that is arranged vertically to the first straight line.
  3. The blade grinder according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the first axis (8) intersects the second axis (10).
  4. The blade grinder according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the second axis (10) is parallel to the first straight line (17).
  5. The blade grinder according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the blade holder (2) is arranged so as to be off-centre relative to the first axis (8).
  6. The blade grinder according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the first axis (8) on the side opposite the blade holder (2) comprises a weight (11, 12) that rotates with the axis (8).
  7. The blade grinder according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the blade holder (2) is rotatable on the second axis (10) by less than 360°.
  8. The blade grinder according to any one of claims 2 to 7, characterised in that the first straight line (17) is horizontal.
  9. The blade grinder according to any one of claims 2 to 8, characterised in that the grinding stone (4) with a first spindle is horizontally displaceable and with a second spindle is vertically displaceable.
