Definitions
- the present invention relates to a method for allocating product carriers, in particular L-boards, to certain types of product sections of a food, in particular stacks of slices of a food product. Furthermore, the invention relates to a food processing device.
- L-boards In the prior art it is known to arrange stacks of slices of a food product, such as ham slices, on so-called L-boards.
- Such an L-board consists of a base portion on which the product portion is disposed, a side portion and a cover portion which connect in series to one side of the base portion.
- the cover portion When the stack of disks is disposed on the base portion, the cover portion is folded over so as to partially cover the stack.
- the cover portion is generally smaller in size than the base portion.
- the stack and the L-board arranged around it are then further packed together.
- Product-specific information and a packaging design can be provided on the L-board.
- a prior art document describing L-boards and their processing is, for example, the US 5,087,498 A ,
- a method and apparatus for a so-called card dispenser is known.
- carriers are referred to as carriers on which food products, for example, are placed in disk stacks.
- card loading stations are provided for several different cards.
- the product sections are transported on a conveying device, the different product carriers being provided only at one location along the conveying device, and depending on the characteristic of the respective product section, a specific product carrier is respectively arranged at this location from below the product section, and transported further with the product section ,
- multiple different product carriers may be provided in one location, which may alternatively be combined with the product sections at that location.
- the conveyor can be interrupted for example.
- the supply of different product carriers in one place with respect to the product carrier supply is somewhat more complex, that is, the individual product carrier feeds must be made more compact.
- the property of a product section may be, in particular, the size, the weight or a quality feature.
- quality characteristics are, in particular, the fat content, texture, shape or color.
- the different product carriers may differ in particular in their size, shape, color or in their imprint.
- the property of the product portion is sensed before the product carrier is combined with the product portion.
- the product portion may be weighed, or a property may be determined during processing of the product portion. For example, if the product portion has been cut by a slicer, the cutting pressure can be sensed and thereby the property of the product portion, here the strength, determined.
- a characteristic is taken into account when the product carrier is combined with the product portion.
- a property can be, for example, the thickness of the pane, with which the slices of the product section are cut off from a food by a slicer.
- Other adjustable properties are, for example, the feed or the cutting speed in a slicer.
- the property is a size or weight of the product portion, and the at least two different product carriers have different sizes.
- end products having different contents can be produced by only one method, using an optimally adapted product carrier for each product size.
- the size of the base section and cover section can be varied as the slice size of the product section is varied. If the number of slices or the slice thickness of the product section is increased or decreased, the length of the side section of the L-board can be adjusted.
- the property of the product section is detected by means of a camera.
- the size, in particular the outline of the product section, the texture, in particular the fat content, the color or the shape of the product section can be detected with a camera and corresponding image processing software. If the product portion is a stack of slices of a food product, then for each individual slice the property may be captured by the camera, or only for a selection of slices. But it is also possible to capture the property only for the top slice of the product section.
- a stack of slices of food product is formed to form the product section.
- a slicer is used for this, which cuts off a food product in the form of a food bar, such as a stick of cheese, sausage or ham, at high speed slices. The discs are then collected on a support until the desired product portion is completed, and then further promoted.
- the product sections are transported on a conveyor, and the respective different product carriers are respectively provided at different locations along the conveyor, and depending on the nature of the respective product section, a particular product carrier is placed at the respective location from underneath Product section arranged, and further transported with the product section.
- L-boards are placed under different circumstances in particular in the funding process. For example, only L boards in one color are underlaid at one location, and only L boards in a different color are located further downstream.
- the various product carriers are held in different locations, with the product sections being displaced to be combined with the particular product carrier of the various product carriers.
- the product carriers can be kept at different locations on one or more conveyor sections of a conveyor device or on different conveyor devices, the product sections then being arranged on the respective product carriers.
- the displacement of the product sections can be done for example by a gripper.
- the object of the invention is also achieved by a food processing device for product sections of a food, with a combination device, in which the product sections are combined with product carriers, in particular L-boards.
- a product carrier supply system is provided, which is designed to combine a particular product carrier of at least two different types of product carriers with the product section, depending on a characteristic of the product sections.
- a conveyor device is provided which is adapted to transport the product sections sequentially in the conveying direction, wherein the product carrier supply system has only one product carrier supply which is designed to provide different product carriers from different inventories of product carriers in the product carrier store. Each time a product section passes the product carrier supply, a product carrier is provided depending on the product section which is combined with the product section. As a result, only at one location of the conveyor does it need to be possible for product carriers to be combined with product sections since the product carrier supply is designed to feed different product carriers.
- the product carrier delivery system may, in particular, include several independent product carrier feeds, each providing one of the particular product carriers.
- a product carrier store per product carrier supply can be provided, or a central product carrier store, which is designed to hold at least two different types of product carriers.
- a suitable product carrier can also be combined with the product section.
- a sensor device which is designed to determine a property of the product sections and to transmit them to the product carrier supply system.
- the property of the product sections is in particular their size, weight, color, shape or texture.
- the property can be determined either for the entire product section, or for individual slices, or for all slices contained in the product section.
- the sensor device may be, for example, a balance or a camera.
- a cutter is provided that provides a stack of slices of a food product that form the product sections.
- the slicer is a slicer that slices food bars such as cheese, sausage or ham.
- the property of the product section can be determined directly after the slicer or during the slicing process.
- a sensor device can be provided, which is designed in each case to determine at least one property of the individual disks during the cutting process of the cutting device, the properties of the product section being determined from these properties. For example, a shot can be taken of each slice with the camera and the fat content or texture of the slice calculated therefrom. Furthermore, the total fat content of the entire product section can thereby be determined. Accordingly, a product carrier designed for a food product having a corresponding fat content, and in particular the corresponding product information thereon, may be selected.
- the cutting device can be designed to vary the number of slices and / or the thickness of the slices per stack and to transmit the number of slices or the thickness of the slices in the stack as a characteristic of the product section to the product carrier supply system.
- the property of the product sections can be varied, and the corresponding product carriers can be assigned to the respective product sections, so that different end products are produced.
- a conveyor configured to convey the product sections sequentially in the conveying direction
- the product carrier supply system comprises one product carrier supply per type of product carrier, each successively arranged in the conveying direction, and designed each time a product section passes the product carrier feed, whose product carrier is to be combined with the product portion to provide a product carrier which is combined with the product portion.
- the conveyor device consists of a plurality of sequentially arranged conveyor belts, and that the product carrier supply is in each case arranged between the individual conveyor belts, and feeds the product carrier from below the product section, which runs from one conveyor belt to the next.
- the product carriers can also be introduced or injected from below under the product sections, so that the conveyor device does not have to be interrupted.
- the product carrier delivery system may provide the various product carriers in various locations, with a displacement device configured to shift the product portion to be combined with the particular product carrier of the various product carriers.

- the displacement device 26 displaces the product portion 7 to the desired product carrier 13, 14 and lowers the product portion 7 thereon. Then the product section 7 is moved together with the product carrier 13, 14. Finally, the product carrier 13, 14 is folded in the form of an L-board, namely that the side portion 20 is erected with respect to the base portion 19, and the cover portion 21 is lowered onto the product portion 7.
- the exemplified method with respect to the food processing device in FIG. 3 also includes that first the food product 4 is cut in the cutter 1 in slices 5, which form a product section 7 stacked. Then, with or without intermediate conveying, the product section 7 is displaced by a displacement device 26, in particular with a gripper 27, and arranged on a product carrier 13, 14 in accordance with a previously determined property of the product section 7. The product carrier 13, 14 is then further conveyed together with the product section 7, or the product carrier 13, 14 in the form of an L-board is folded directly around the product section 7. Finally, the combination of folded product carrier 13, 14 and product section 7 is further packaged.
- a characteristic of the product section may in particular be its weight. For example, for a product section weighing 100g, a small L-board may be used while for a product section weighing 250g, a large L-board is used.
- the different weights can be determined either by weighing, so that correspondingly heavy product sections 7 can be produced.
- the weight may be determined directly by the number of slices cut from the food product by adjusting the slice thickness at a known diameter of the food product.
- camera systems can be provided which determine the size of the product section 7 and accordingly select a suitable L board.
- Cameras or other optical detection systems can also inspect and classify food products. For example, the color, the proportion of fat, the shape of the product sections or similar properties can be determined, and the product sections are then assigned to different classes, which are each underlaid with different L-boards.
- the L-boards may in particular contain different imprints, so that the product sections can be distributed separately.
