  • The invention relates to a device for sharpening, in particular re-sharpening, of knives and possibly wear plates of a knife ring for a knife ring cutter by a grinding process, with at least one grinding device.

  • From the EP 0 835 721 B1 One knows a method and an apparatus for grinding the blades of chipper, the knife also remain during grinding in the knife basket and the knife basket is removed from the chipper and inserted into a knife basket carrier in which it is rotatably mounted. The knife basket is then secured against twisting and a grinding device with one or more grinding tools is moved in a direction parallel to the knife basket axis along a first knife or along a first group of knives for the purpose of grinding.   • The known Messerringzerspaner have proven in principle in use in practice. However, the resharpening of the knife is still associated with great expense - this is where the invention begins.
  • The invention has for its object to provide a device of the type described above, which allows for a simple structure, a speedy and proper sharpening and especially re-sharpening the knife of a Messerringzerspaners.
  • To solve this problem, the invention teaches a device for sharpening, in particular re-sharpening, knives of a knife ring for a Messerringzerspaner by a grinding, with the features of claim 1.   • The invention is initially based on the recognition that it is particularly advantageous to perform the machining outside of the Messerringzerspaners in the horizontal state of the removed blade ring. The grinding device is introduced into the interior of the knife ring and the knife ring can be used for grinding the knife z. B. continuously (slowly) to be rotated. The horizontal arrangement of the knife ring has the advantage that a stable position of the knife ring is ensured, so that in particular deformations of the knife ring, which stands alone in standing orientation which can give rise to gravity, be easily prevented. Preference is given to working by means of dry grinding, particularly preferably with a belt grinder. Coolants required in wet grinding can thus be dispensed with in this preferred embodiment.
  • The device according to the invention allows the processing of the knife ring in horizontal orientation, in particular, in a particularly simple manner, because the turntable and the grinding device are arranged on a pivoting table. The Messerringzerspaner in standing arrangement (ie with horizontally aligned axis) mounted knife ring can thus be removed in this standing orientation of the Messerringzerspaner and put on the device according to the invention, ie the sharpening machine according to the invention. In this upright orientation of the knife ring is then fixed to the turntable and thus also on the turntable. The processing of the knife ring in horizontal arrangement is therefore carried out according to the invention in a particularly economical manner.
  • Preferably, the grinding device on the turntable relative to the turntable and / or the turntable relative to the grinding device in the axial direction and in the radial direction (relative to the axis of the knife ring mounted on the turntable) movable. So z. B. the knife ring are firmly positioned on the turntable, while the grinding device is adjustable in different positions.   • In terms of design, the invention can be implemented particularly advantageously by arranging a carrier carriage on the pivoting table which can be moved in the radial direction on the pivoting table by means of a feed drive or feed drive. Further, a holding device for the grinding device is preferably provided, which is arranged by means of a lifting drive on the carrier carriage. By moving the holding device relative to the carrier carriage, the grinding device can be moved in the axial direction. Consequently, a rotary drive for the turntable, a pivot drive for the turntable, a lifting drive for the grinding device and / or a feed drive for the grinding device are preferably provided.   • It is within the scope of the invention that the grinding of the knife during a "slow" rotation of the knife ring on the turntable, wherein the grinding device then moved axially oscillating, z. At the same time, the desired feed or the desired feed movement can take place in the radial direction.   • According to a further proposal of the invention, the device has a knife feed device or ejection device with one or more knife feed or ejection elements with which the individual knives are displaceable relative to the knife ring. It is basically known that the knife holders are provided with suitable recesses, through which actuators can act on the knives, as it were from the rear, so that the knives can be advanced toward the center of the knife ring. The invention now proposes that a squeezing device (ie knife feed device) with such squeezing elements (directly) is mounted on the swivel table. Consequently, not only the turntable and the grinding device with corresponding delivery option, but also the ejection device are particularly preferably fixedly arranged on the swivel table. The entire arrangement can be pivoted with the pivoting table, so that the relative position of the pressing device always remains the same to the turntable and consequently to the fixed knife ring. Complex adjustment work is then not required every time. It is understood that the knife feed device fixedly mounted on the turntable has the movable feed elements, which are then movable relative to the turntable and work on the knives.
  • It is basically within the scope of the invention that the blades are first released before expressing by z. B. the clamping screws are released. Here, in principle - as known in the prior art - a release of the clamping and advancement of the knife and a subsequent fastening of the clamp done. In a particularly preferred embodiment, however, the invention proposes that the knives be advanced by means of the squeezing device in / on the knife holders without releasing the clamping. A release of the generally known clamping screw is therefore no longer necessary.   • Preferably, the blades of the knife ring are sharpened in the manner described with the device according to the invention.
  • However, the device according to the invention is not only suitable for sharpening the knives, but also for sharpening the wear plates ("wear shoes") with one and the same grinding device.   1. A device for sharpening, particularly resharpening, knives and if appropriate, wear plates of a knife ring (2) for a knife ring cutter by means of grinding processing, using at least one grinding device (12),
    characterized in that the device has at least one turntable (13), on which the knife ring can be fastened in such a manner that the knife ring (2) can be rotated in a lying arrangement with vertically orientated axis relatively to the grinding device (12),
    wherein the turntable (13) and the grinding device (12) are arranged on a pivot table (24), wherein the pivot table (24) is fastened on a machine frame (14), such that it can be pivoted about a horizontal axis (29), for tilting the knife ring (2) out of a dismounting position with a horizontal axis into a machining position with a vertical axis.
  2. The device according to Claim 1, characterized in that the grinding device (12) is constructed as a belt grinding device.
  3. The device according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the grinding device (12) can be moved on the pivot table (24) relatively to the turntable (13) and/or the turntable (13) can be moved relatively to the grinding device (12), in the axial direction and in the radial direction - with respect to the axis of the knife ring (2) fastened on the turntable (13).
