Description

The invention relates to a cup made of a paper material with a fillable interior, which is formed by means of an at least partially conical shell and a bottom, wherein the bottom is connected in the region of the lower end of the interior substantially liquid-tight with the shell, wherein the interior bounding Sheath has at least one indentation and wherein the cup has a jacket surrounding the outer sheath at least partially, wherein the outer sheath is at least partially spaced from the sheath. The invention also relates to a method for producing a cup of paper material.

Cups of paper material with a jacket and an outer jacket are from the German patent application DE 10 2004 056 932 A1 known. The mantle of the inner cup has a stacking shoulder there, at which the diameter of the inner cup is suddenly reduced. The stacking shoulder serves to make the bottom roll of the outer shell of another similar cup stacked on top of it Stacking shoulder rests. In the cup described there satisfactory stacking properties are achieved. However, any stacking shoulder or any other form or indentation on the inside or outside of the jacket of such a cup always leads to a weakening of the paper material in the region of this indentation. When substantially axially acting forces occur, ie parallel to the central longitudinal axis of the cup, such indentations are always to be regarded as a soft, flexible point. In the case of very high beaker stacks or even large double-walled cups, it may therefore happen that the jacket of the inner cup is deformed by such forces in the region of the indentation. This can occur, for example, by large quantities.

From the publication US 2006/0237465 A1 is a double-walled cup of a paper material is known in which an outer shell rests at its lower edge with an inwardly extending bottom roller on an inner cup. At its upper edge, the outer shell is integrally connected to the inner cup, wherein the connection points may be spaced from each other.

From the publication GB 2 435 255 A For example, there is known a double-walled cup made of a paper material in which an inner cup has radially outwardly extending formations in its upper portion adjacent to a mouth roll and in its lower portion adjacent to the bottom of the cup which extend over the entire circumference. A space between these upper and lower formations extends inward in the radial direction and is bridged by a flat outer shell, which is placed around the cup. The outer jacket is materially connected to the inner cup in the region of the upper and lower moldings.

From the publication DE 10 2007 024 243 A1 is a double-walled cup of a paper material known which has an outer shell, which is provided at its upper and lower edges each with an inwardly directed role. By means of the inner sides of these rollers, the outer jacket rests against the inner cup. In the region between the two rollers of the outer shell, a stack formation on the inner cup extends radially outward. According to paragraph [0056], fixation in the region of the rolls can be done by gluing.

According to the invention for this purpose, a cup made of a paper material with a fillable interior space with the features of claim 1 and a method with the features of claim 9 is provided. Such a connection of the outer shell above and below the indentation can not only compensate for the material weakening caused by the indentation, but also significantly stabilize the cup in the area between the two integral connections, thus also in the region of the indentation. As cohesive connection an adhesive bond, for example with cold glue or hot glue, a sealing compound, for example by heat sealing of sealing wax or existing PE coatings, optionally with the interposition of spacer elements, a welded joint or the like may be provided. The outer jacket or the sleeve stiffens the jacket, since it is connected above and below the indentation with this. The outer sheath thereby assumes forces that would be applied exclusively or mainly to the sheath without the two connections. The recesses, which are provided, for example, for stacking cups, thereby become more stable and higher cup bars can be formed, so more cups are stacked. The Entstapelbarkeit the cup poles is guaranteed even with longer transport routes. Also, the stiffened cup according to the invention gives the consumer a secure feeling, since the cup is stable, especially in the filled state. In particular, compared to a conventional cup without the two compounds according to the invention, the outer casing can not move or only insignificantly move in the direction of the casing of the inner cup when a consumer has such a filled cup in his hand. The stabilization of the shell of the inner cup through the outer shell can for example also be used to now use thinner material thicknesses for the inner cup, since a part of the stability of the inner cup is indeed effected via the outer shell or the sleeve. According to the invention, by arranging a connection of the outer sheath with the sheath of the inner cup above and below an indentation, all kinds of indentations in a sheath of a paper cup can be stiffened. In addition to a stiffening effect can be connected by the two compounds simultaneously the outer shell with the inner cup.

According to the invention, at least one of the sheath and outer sheath connections takes place by means of an adhesive track applied to the sheath and / or the outer sheath.
For example, cold glue or hot melt glue can be used. The adhesive trace is comparatively thick and applied in the form of a so-called adhesive bead, in order to maintain a distance between the outer shell and the jacket even in the bonded state. Such a distance improves the insulating properties of the paper cup.

In a development of the invention, at least one of the connections has at least a plurality of regions arranged one behind the other in the circumferential direction of the jacket and of the outer jacket.

In this way, the outer sheath can be connected to the sheath over the circumference of the sheath and the outer sheath in a first region above and a second region below the indentation. As a result, a stabilization of the inner cup in the area of the indentation can take place essentially over the entire circumference of the outer casing and of the jacket of the inner cup. The connection with the outer shell significantly stiffens the indentation when it is placed only briefly above and below the indentation, for example within one centimeter above and below the indentation. But the arrangement of the compound outside this range also contributes effectively to the stabilization of the indentation.

In a development of the invention, at least one of the connections takes place over the entire circumference of the jacket and of the outer jacket.

In this way, a significant stiffening of the inner cup can be achieved over the entire circumference.

According to the invention, the outer jacket is at least partially spaced from the shell, whereby good insulating properties are achieved. The bonding takes place by means of a bead of adhesive, which connects and glued together the spaced-apart surfaces of the outer shell and the shell. Optionally, spacer elements are provided on the jacket and / or on the outer jacket, which are connected, in particular glued, become. The spacers are suitably directed outwardly from the jacket. The spacers can be designed as separate from the shell and outer shell components.

In a further development of the invention, the indentation is designed as a means for holding a similar cup in the stacked state of several cups. Straight moldings that serve to stack cups are also exposed to high stacking forces in the case of high cup bars or cup stacks. Especially with such recesses, the invention can be used with great success.

In a further development of the invention, the bottom and the jacket in the region of the liquid-tight connection form a bottom frame, wherein the indentation is formed as a means for holding the bottom frame of a similar cup in the stacked state of several cups.

By using the bottom frame for stacking the cups, very good stacking properties can be achieved, but the indentations of the respective lower cup are also heavily loaded in the axial direction. The bonding of the outer jacket according to the invention with the jacket of the inner cup in a first region above and a second region below the former can here the stacking properties significantly improve or allow the production of the shell of the inner cup of thinner material.

In a further development of the invention, the cup has a jacket which at least partially surrounds the casing, the indentation being designed as a means for holding the outer casing of a similar cup in the stacked state of a plurality of cups.

Even when stacking several cups on the respective lower edge of the outer cup, the invention can significantly improve the stacking properties of such cups.

In a further development of the invention, the indentation, seen from an opening of the cup in the direction of the bottom, forms an at least partially cross-sectional reduction of the interior.

In this way, a secure stacking can be achieved, but such a reduction in cross-section also leads to a noticeable material weakening. Here, the invention can combine the good stacking properties of such a cross-sectional reduction with the clear stabilization of the jacket of the inner cup in the region of the indentation.

In a further development of the invention, the outer jacket is located with its lower edge on an outer side of the floor frame and the lower connection between the outer jacket and the jacket is arranged below the indentation and above the floor.

In this way, forces acting axially or substantially parallel to the outer jacket and in the jacket of the inner cup can be transmitted to the inner cup not only via the integral connections, but also via the lower edge of the outer jacket. In this way, the outer jacket is at least in the region of its lower Edge as well as in the region of the two compounds on the mantle of the inner cup. The cup according to the invention thereby forms a particularly stable unit.

The problem underlying the invention is also solved by a method for producing a cup of paper material, in which the following steps are provided: essentially liquid-tight joining of a conical jacket and a bottom, introduction of a molding in the shell and cohesive bonding of an outer shell to the shell in a first region above the indentation and in a second region below the indentation.

In a further development of the invention is the forming of an outer shell to a conical sleeve, the arrangement of material for material bonding on the conical shell and / or on the outer surface of the cup at least in a first region above the indentation and in a second region below the indentation and the sliding of the conical sleeve on the cup and the gluing of the conical sleeve provided with the cup.

In this way, the bonding of the outer shell with the shell of the inner cup can be done simultaneously with the sliding of the conical sleeve on the cup. As a result, a particularly fast and efficient production of the paper cup according to the invention becomes possible. As a material for cohesive bonding adhesive, sealing wax or even a sealable or weldable plastic coating can be applied or even be present in the form of a coating of the paper material.

In a further development of the invention, the arrangement of material for cohesive bonding on the conical jacket and / or on the outer jacket of the cup takes place at least in a first region above the indentation and in a second area below the indentation and the winding of a blank for the outer shell on the conical jacket.

Also, by winding a blank for the outer jacket, the double-walled cup according to the invention can be produced, wherein not only the cup is completed simultaneously with the connection of the outer shell with the shell of the inner cup, but at the same time the inner cup is stabilized in the region of the indentation. The material for cohesive bonding can be applied in the circumferential direction or also perpendicular thereto, for example as an adhesive trace. A gluing perpendicular to the circumferential direction can additionally stabilize the indentation by the applied material for the cohesive bonding itself, in particular adhesive.

The presentation of the Fig. 1 shows in a sectional view two cups 10, 12 according to the invention of paper material, which are stacked in one another.

Both cups are identical and each have one, a fillable interior forming inner cup of a jacket 14 and a bottom 16. The jacket 14 and the bottom 16 are each liquid-tightly connected to each other in the lower region of the cup to form a bottom frame 18. The bottom frame 18 is conical, extending in a direction from the upper, open end of the cup 10, 12 in the direction of the lower end of the bottom frames 18 respectively.

As seen from the bottom upwards, towards the open end of the cups 10, 12, a first, conically widening region 20 follows directly onto the bottom, followed by a cylindrical region 22. The cylindrical portion 22 is about four to five times as long as the conically widening portion 20. The cylindrical portion 22 is followed by a shoulder-shaped indentation 24, starting from the coat 14 then to its upper end a uniform, conical, itself has widening shape. At the upper end of the cup 10, 14 of the jacket 14 is rolled into each case to form a mouth roll 26.

Looking from above into the cups 10, 12, the shoulder-shaped indentation 24 forms a reduction in cross-section of the interior of the cups 10, 12. The shoulder-shaped indentation 24, which is also referred to as a stacking shoulder, is encircling the entire circumference of the jacket 14 educated.

In order to stack two cups into each other, a diameter at the bottom of the bottom frame is formed so that the bottom frame 18 of the upper cup 10 can be supported on the indentation 24 of the lower cup 12. In this way, many of the cups 10, 12 can be stacked in one another.

Each of the cups 10, 12 is provided with a conical outer shell 28, wherein the outer shells 28 each begin just below the mouth roll 26 of the cups 10, 12 and then extend to below the bottom 16. Below the bottom 16, the outer shells 28 abut with their lower edge on an outer side of the bottom frame 18.

On the inner jacket 14 of the cups 10, 12, an upper adhesive track 32 and a lower adhesive track 34 are applied, each of which coat the jacket 14 with the outer jacket 28. The adhesive tracks 32, 34 are applied as adhesive beads and bridge a distance between the sheath 14 and the outer sheath 28. Between the outer sheath 28 and the sheath 14 is thereby seen over the entire height of the outer sheath 28, with the exception of the lower edge of the outer sheath 28th , a substantially constant distance. This distance serves as an air gap insulation and ensures that a consumer can keep the cups 10, 12 well even when filled without the outer jacket 28 is too hot or too cold.

As based on the Fig. 1 can be seen, the adhesive trace 32 is disposed above the shoulder-shaped indentation 24 and the second adhesive trace 34 below the shoulder-shaped indentation 24. The outer sheath 28 thereby stiffens the sheath 14 in the area between the two adhesive tracks 32, 34, which in each case form adhesive bonds of the outer sheath 28 with the sheath 14. The lower adhesive trace 34 is arranged just above the bottom 16 at the transition between the conical region 20 and the cylindrical region 22. The upper adhesive track 32 is located just below the mouth roll 26. When the cups 10, 12 are loaded essentially in the axial direction, So in the Fig. 1 from top to bottom or vice versa, the outer shell 28 thereby absorbs forces and thereby relieves the shell 14 and especially the region of the indentation 24 on the shell 14th

Although paper material can be deformed, as can be seen from the shoulder-shaped indentation 24, any deformation of paper material causes a certain weakening of the paper material, as the individual paper fibers are inevitably kinked in the region of such indentation. The bonding of the outer jacket 28 to the jacket 14 in a first region above the indentation 24 and a second region below the indentation 24 can thereby effectively stiffen the jacket 14 of the inner cup. The first, upper region or the upper bond is formed by the adhesive trace 32 and the second, lower region or the second bond is formed by the adhesive trace 34.

Bodenzarge 18.In the area below the lower adhesive trace 34, the outer jacket runs toward the jacket 14, so that a distance between the jacket 14 and the outer jacket 28 is reduced continuously. A lower edge of the outer jacket 28 is then approximately at half the height of the bottom frame 18 on the outside. The outer jacket 28 can thereby be supported not only on the second adhesive trace 34 on the jacket 14 in the lower region, but also on its lower, abutting the bottom frame 18 edge. This allows a particularly effective power transmission between the outer jacket 28 and jacket 14 or bottom frame 18th

To produce the cups 10, 12, first the respective inner cup is formed from the casing 14 and the bottom 16, which are then connected to one another in the region of the bottom frame 18 in a liquid-tight manner. Subsequently, the shoulder-shaped indentation 24 is introduced and the conical portion 20 and the cylindrical portion 22 are formed simultaneously. The upper mouth roll 26 is also formed.

The outer jacket 28 is made from a flat blank and formed into a conical sleeve. This conical sleeve is then, after the two adhesive tracks 32, 34 were applied to the jacket 14, pushed from below over the bottom frame 18 to the respective inner cup. Simultaneously with the pushing an inner surface of the outer shell comes into contact with the adhesive tracks 32, 34, so that thereby the outer shell 28 is bonded to the respective inner cup.

The presentation of the Fig. 2 shows a cup 40 according to the invention of a paper material having an inner cup of a shell 42 and a bottom 44 which are liquid-tightly connected to each other in the region of a bottom frame 46. The jacket 42 is generally conical and also the bottom frame 46 is conical, in contrast to the in Fig. 1 shown cups 10, 12 tapers in a direction from the upper, open side of the cup 40 downwards.

The jacket 42 is provided with a circumferential, shoulder-shaped indentation 48, which forms in a viewing direction into the cup 40, a circumferential cross-sectional reduction. Seen from the bottom 44 from the top, a conical region 50 connects to the bottom 44, which then merges into a cylindrical region 52. The cylindrical portion 52 terminates at the indentation 48. Seen from the indentation 48 from the top, the jacket 42 has a conical, widening shape. At the upper end of the shell 42, a mouth roll 54 is formed.

The cup 40 has an outer shell 56 which has a continuous, conical shape and is provided at its lower end with a bottom roller 58. The bottom roller 58 is located below the bottom 44 on an outer side of the bottom frame 46. With its upper edge 60 of the outer shell 56 abuts against the mouth roll 54 of the shell 42. The upper edge 60 of the outer shell 56 is inserted into a space between an inner side of the lip liner 54 and the conical portion of the shell 42. In the upper region of the cup 40, there is thus no air gap between the outer casing 56 and the casing 42, but a distance between outer casing 56 and casing 52 increases in a direction from the upper end of the cup 40 towards the bottom casing 46. The outer sheath 56 is made of a flat blank and glued in an overlap region 62, so that the outer sheath 56 forms an overall conical sleeve. A central longitudinal axis of the cup 40 is denoted by 64.

The outer jacket 56 is glued to the jacket 42 of the inner cup in a first region above the indentation 48 by means of a circumferential adhesive trace 66 and bonded in a second region below the indentation 48 also with the jacket 42 of the inner cup by means of a second adhesive trace 68. In the area between the two adhesive tracks 66, 68 of the jacket 42 and especially the region of the indentation 48 is thereby effectively stiffened. Namely forces acting on the jacket 42 in the axial direction, that is to say substantially parallel to the central longitudinal axis 64, can also be absorbed by the outer jacket 56. Even with the formation of very high cup stacks the indentation 48 remains stable and the stacked cups do not jam together.

The presentation of the Fig. 3 shows two cups 40, as they are based on the Fig. 2 in the stacked state. Specifically, it can be seen how the bottom roller 58 of the upper cup on the shoulder-shaped indentation 48 of the lower cup rests, thereby enabling a secure stacking of the two cups. An angle of the shoulder-shaped indentation 48 to a line 70, which is perpendicular to the central longitudinal axis 64, is about 5 °. Viewed in the radial direction, the indentation 48 has a width p, which lies for example in a range of one to two millimeters.

Good to see in the presentation of the Fig. 3 the two traces of adhesive 66 and 68, which bond the outer shell 56 with the inner shell 42 and provide for a stabilization of the shell 42 in the region of the indentation 48.
