Definitions
- a method for producing a double-walled cup is to be improved.
- the flat segment that is to form the outer sheath must be set before the actual winding process on the inner cup and thus fixed until the completion of the winding process.
- This is usually done by a clamping lever which presses the segment on the inner cup.
- the counterforce is absorbed by a mandrel on which the inner cup is pushed.
- the force necessary for a secure fixing of the segment is necessarily so great that the pre-applied adhesive between inner cup and segment is pushed out of the pressing area.
- the required air gap between the inner cup and outer shell in the region of the clamping lever is reduced to an intolerable level for the isolation of the cup.
- the finished cup is then limited in its function, possibly even unusable.
- At least one spacer is mounted on an inner side of the planar segment and / or on an outer side of the sleeve of the inner cup prior to placing the flat segment on the inner cup.
- the spacer is designed so that it is plastically no longer or only slightly deformable. The spacer thus serves to obtain the dimensions of the insulating gap even with a force of the clamping lever on the segment.
- the segment can then be wound to the outer shell and it can be ensured that a substantially constant distance between the outer shell and the sleeve of the inner cup is achieved in the finished cup.
- the double-walled cup produced thereby has very good insulating properties.
- paper, cardboard or paperboard As a paper material or paper-like material, for example, paper, cardboard or paperboard is considered.
- paper, cardboard or cardboard can be present in flat segments and these flat segments can then be wound on the one hand to form a sleeve with a circumferential wall and also be deformed to form a cup-shaped bottom element, for example.
- the sleeve and the bottom are then connected to an inner cup.
- the outer jacket is also made from a flat segment.
- the paper material is coated liquid-tight.
- the inside of the inner cup should be coated liquid-tight.
- On the outside of the inner cup and on the outer shell can be dispensed with a liquid-tight coating, also to facilitate printing of the outer shell.
- plastic material which is present in a planar manner is also considered, for example, if it is processed in the same way or at least as similar as paper material to a cup or a lid.
- Flat plastic materials are, for example, also plastic laminates.
- the sheet-like plastic material, which is in segmental form is also wound around a center mandrel and connected in the region of the overlap to form a, in particular conical sleeve.
- a pot-shaped bottom or a cup-shaped cover element can be formed from the sheet-like plastic material by a circular blank is folded in its edge region opposite its bottom surface approximately vertically upwards.
- paper-like plastic material to be processed can not be greatly deformed, for example, kinked, without losing its insulating properties and sealing properties.
- the present invention can be used for paper-like plastic materials to be processed, but it is not specifically designed for paper-like plastic materials to be processed but can of course be used with considerable advantages for paper material.
- the spacer is mounted at least in the middle between the two side edges of the planar segment.
- the spacer can provide an abutment in fixing the planar segment to the inner cup and the segment can be wound with little effort to the outer shell.
- the spacer extends to the finished cup in the direction of the bottom of the cup to an opening of the cup.
- the spacer can in particular be easily mounted on the segment, without hindering a bending of the segment during winding of the outer shell.
- the spacer can also be distributed over the segment and yet do not hinder the bending of the segment during the winding of the outer shell.
- the attachment of the spacer on the application and solidification of at least one adhesive trace, in particular hot melt adhesive, on, wherein the spacer is formed by the solidified adhesive trace is formed by the solidified adhesive trace.
- nozzles are required for applying adhesive anyway.
- one or more traces of adhesive are applied to the outside of the inner cup, for example by means of a nozzle, alternatively or additionally, at least one adhesive trace is applied to the inside of the planar segment. After solidification of this adhesive track then serves as a spacer and the flat segment can be placed on the inner cup and fixed by means of a clamping lever. Subsequently, the outer shell can then be wound from the flat segment.
- Paper pulp is called pulp.
- a spacer By means of a track made of paper pulp, which solidifies after application, a spacer can be realized comparatively inexpensively.
- a great advantage is that the track of paper pulp in a continuous process, for example by means of a nozzle, can be applied.
- a foam track can be realized in a continuous process in a simple and cost-effective manner, a spacer.
- a foam can be used, which cures automatically after application.
- the spacer has a height of at least 0.2 mm and at most 5 mm, preferably between 1 mm and 3 mm.
- the spacer is applied to an inner side of the planar segment and before placing the flat segment on the inner cup an outer side of the inner cup is provided with at least one adhesive trace for fixing the outer shell on the inner cup.
- the segment is provided with one or more spacers and the outside of the inner cup with at least one trace of adhesive. Both the spacer and the adhesive track can thereby be applied unaffected from each other.
- the adhesive trace is indeed where it is touched by the spacer, compressed, but due to the spacer or more spacers during the winding of the outer shell but then still obtain a distance between the outer shell and the inner cup.
- a plurality of strip-shaped spacers are applied distributed over the inner surface of the planar segment and / or over the outer surface of the inner cup.
- a plurality of rectilinear, strip-shaped spacers are arranged parallel to one another or, viewed in the longitudinal direction of the strip-shaped spacers, with increasing or decreasing distance from one another on the inside of the planar segment.
- the application of a plurality of rectilinear, strip-shaped spacers on the inside of the planar segment can take place in a particularly simple manner, namely, during a linear transport movement of the planar segment, the spacers are applied by means of nozzles.
- these strip-shaped spacers then run exactly in the height direction only in the case of a cylindrical cup, and in the case of a conical cup, the spacers then run obliquely to the height direction.
- they can be arranged with increasing or decreasing distance from each other on the inside of the planar segment.
- At least one device in particular a nozzle, is provided for attaching the at least one spacer.
- a spacer By means of a nozzle, a spacer can be applied in a particularly simple manner, for example by applying an adhesive trace, a track of paper pulp or a foam trace.
- transport means are provided for moving the planar segment along a section-wise rectilinear or circular path, wherein the at least one device for attaching the spacer is arranged on a rectilinear or circular section of the path.
- a spacer or a plurality of spacers can be applied in a very simple manner during a straight-line or circular transport of the flat segment.
- the invention also provides an improved double-walled paper or paper-like cup having an inner cup having a sleeve and a bottom and provided with an outer jacket surrounding the inner cup, between the inner surface of the outer cup and the outer surface of the sleeve the inner cup at least one strip-shaped spacer in the form of a solidified adhesive trace, a track of solidified paper pulp and / or a solidified foam track with a height between 0.2 mm and 5 mm, in particular between 1 mm and 3 mm, is provided.
- the outer sheath can be made of thinner or less stable material.
- Fig. 1 schematically shows a portion of an apparatus 10 for carrying out the method according to the invention.
- an inner cup 12 is shown, which is pushed onto a mandrel 14.
- the inner cup 12 has a sleeve and a substantially liquid-tight connected to the sleeve bottom.
- the inner cup 12 may already be provided with a so-called mouth roll at its upper edge opposite the bottom.
- the mouth roll is formed by curling the upper end of the sleeve and gives a user of the cup a pleasant feeling when he puts the mouth roll to the lips.
- an originally planar segment 16 is wound on the inner cup 12 to form an outer shell, which may be cylindrical or frusto-conical.
- the flat segment 16 is placed on the inner cup at a position 18 and the planar segment 16 is then by means of a clamping lever 20th pressed against the inner cup 12.
- the clamping lever 20 exerts a force 22, wherein a counterforce is applied by the mandrel 14, on which the inner cup 12 is pushed.
- the planar segment 16 carries at the point where it is placed on the inner cup 12, a spacer 24.
- the spacer 24 is formed in a line or strip-shaped and consists in the illustrated embodiment of a solidified adhesive trace.
- the adhesive trace is applied in the planar state of the segment 16 on this and consists of a hot melt adhesive.
- the applied adhesive trace of hot melt adhesive solidifies relatively quickly on cooling and is in the solidified state of Fig. 1 only slightly plastically deformable.
- the planar segment 16 After placing the flat segment 16 and the pressing of the planar segment 16 by means of the clamping lever 20, the planar segment 16 is wound to form an outer shell.
- This is schematically in the Fig. 1 indicated by two arrows 26.
- the arrows 26 should generally represent a force on the segment 16, so that this, for example, by lever, fingers or the cup contour adapted half-shells 27, around the inner cup 12 is wrapped around.
- a force action is on the left slightly higher than the right, in order to produce an overlap at the segment edges can.
- the segment 16 is placed around the inner cup 12 until the areas adjoining a first side edge 28 and a second side edge 30 overlap. The resulting overlap is then pressed against the inner cup 12 by means of a further clamping lever 32.
- the segment 16 then forms an outer shell, which by adhesive, the in Fig. 1 not shown, is fixed in its final form.
- the adhesive may be applied to the areas of the segment 16, which adjoin the side edges 28, 30.
- circumferential adhesive traces are applied to the inner cup, which in Fig. 1 are not shown and then connect the segment 16 with the inner cup 12. Such traces of adhesive are for example in Fig. 5 . Fig. 7 and Fig. 8 shown schematically.
- the segment 16 comes into contact with the inner cup 12 by the clamping lever 20. Rather, a distance between the inner cup 12 and the segment 16 or the finished outer shell is maintained by the spacer 24 in the area between the clamping lever 20 and the inner cup 12.
- the presentation of the Fig. 2 shows the flat segment 16 before placing on the inner cup 12. Good to see the spacer 24 in the form of a solidified adhesive trace of hot melt adhesive.
- the adhesive trace can, for example, by means of a in Fig. 2 schematically illustrated nozzle 34 are applied, while the planar segment is moved by means not shown transport under the nozzle 34 in the direction of the arrows 36.
- the transport means may be formed, for example, as a conveyor belt and during a linear movement of the planar segment 16, the spacer 24 is applied by means of the nozzle 34 in the form of an adhesive strip of hot melt adhesive. As soon as this hotmelt adhesive has cooled, a solidified adhesive track is available, which then forms the spacer 24.
- Fig. 3 shows a further embodiment of the invention.
- the flat segment 16 with a total of three strip-shaped spacers 38, 40, 42 is provided.
- the spacer 38 is disposed at the same position as the spacer 24 in FIG Fig. 1 and 2 .
- the likewise strip-shaped spacers 40, 42 are arranged at 90 ° spaced from the spacer 38 and ensure that when winding the flat segment 16 to an outer shell surrounding the inner cup 12, and away from the spacer 38, a constant distance between the inner cup 12th and the segment 16 or the outer sheath is ensured.
- a half shell 27 is shown on the left, with which the left section of the segment 16 is moved inwards.

Description
With the invention, a method for producing a double-walled cup is to be improved.
- Placing an inner cup with a, in particular conical, sleeve and a bottom on a mandrel,
- Placing a flat segment on an outer side of the inner cup opposite the mandrel,
- Forming the flat segment into a, in particular conical, outer shell, which surrounds the inner cup,
- Fixing of the outer shell on the inner cup by means of cohesive bonding of outer shell and inner cup, in particular by means of gluing, and
- Attaching at least one spacer on an inner side of the planar segment and / or on an outer side of the sleeve of the inner cup prior to placing the flat segment on the inner cup.
When winding an outer sheath on an inner cup, the flat segment that is to form the outer sheath, must be set before the actual winding process on the inner cup and thus fixed until the completion of the winding process. This is usually done by a clamping lever which presses the segment on the inner cup. The counterforce is absorbed by a mandrel on which the inner cup is pushed. The force necessary for a secure fixing of the segment is necessarily so great that the pre-applied adhesive between inner cup and segment is pushed out of the pressing area. As a result, the required air gap between the inner cup and outer shell in the region of the clamping lever is reduced to an intolerable level for the isolation of the cup. The finished cup is then limited in its function, possibly even unusable. In the method according to the invention at least one spacer is mounted on an inner side of the planar segment and / or on an outer side of the sleeve of the inner cup prior to placing the flat segment on the inner cup. The spacer is designed so that it is plastically no longer or only slightly deformable. The spacer thus serves to obtain the dimensions of the insulating gap even with a force of the clamping lever on the segment. By providing the spacer, the segment can then be wound to the outer shell and it can be ensured that a substantially constant distance between the outer shell and the sleeve of the inner cup is achieved in the finished cup. The double-walled cup produced thereby has very good insulating properties.
As a paper material or paper-like material, for example, paper, cardboard or paperboard is considered. For example, paper, cardboard or cardboard can be present in flat segments and these flat segments can then be wound on the one hand to form a sleeve with a circumferential wall and also be deformed to form a cup-shaped bottom element, for example. The sleeve and the bottom are then connected to an inner cup. The outer jacket is also made from a flat segment. Conveniently, the paper material is coated liquid-tight. In any case, the inside of the inner cup should be coated liquid-tight. On the outside of the inner cup and on the outer shell can be dispensed with a liquid-tight coating, also to facilitate printing of the outer shell. As a paper-like material, however, plastic material which is present in a planar manner is also considered, for example, if it is processed in the same way or at least as similar as paper material to a cup or a lid. Flat plastic materials are, for example, also plastic laminates. To produce an inner cup, outer shell or lid, the sheet-like plastic material, which is in segmental form, is also wound around a center mandrel and connected in the region of the overlap to form a, in particular conical sleeve. Also, a pot-shaped bottom or a cup-shaped cover element can be formed from the sheet-like plastic material by a circular blank is folded in its edge region opposite its bottom surface approximately vertically upwards. However, the problems encountered with paper-like plastic material are essentially the same as those encountered when processing paper stock. Specifically, paper-like plastic material to be processed can not be greatly deformed, for example, kinked, without losing its insulating properties and sealing properties. The present invention can be used for paper-like plastic materials to be processed, but it is not specifically designed for paper-like plastic materials to be processed but can of course be used with considerable advantages for paper material.
In a further development of the invention, the spacer is mounted at least in the middle between the two side edges of the planar segment.
In this way, the spacer can provide an abutment in fixing the planar segment to the inner cup and the segment can be wound with little effort to the outer shell.
In development of the invention, the spacer extends to the finished cup in the direction of the bottom of the cup to an opening of the cup.
In this way, the spacer can in particular be easily mounted on the segment, without hindering a bending of the segment during winding of the outer shell. Specifically, from the bottom to the mouth of the cup, so vertically extending spacers can also be distributed over the segment and yet do not hinder the bending of the segment during the winding of the outer shell.
In a further development of the invention, the attachment of the spacer on the application and solidification of at least one adhesive trace, in particular hot melt adhesive, on, wherein the spacer is formed by the solidified adhesive trace.
In a surprisingly simple way can be applied by a spacer. To glue the outer shell to the inner cup nozzles are required for applying adhesive anyway. Before placing the sheet-like segment on the outside of the inner cup, one or more traces of adhesive are applied to the outside of the inner cup, for example by means of a nozzle, alternatively or additionally, at least one adhesive trace is applied to the inside of the planar segment. After solidification of this adhesive track then serves as a spacer and the flat segment can be placed on the inner cup and fixed by means of a clamping lever. Subsequently, the outer shell can then be wound from the flat segment.
In a further development of the invention, the attachment of the spacer on the application and solidification of at least one track of paper pulp, wherein the spacer is formed by the solidified track of paper pulp.
Paper pulp is called pulp. By means of a track made of paper pulp, which solidifies after application, a spacer can be realized comparatively inexpensively.
A great advantage is that the track of paper pulp in a continuous process, for example by means of a nozzle, can be applied.
In a further development of the invention, the attachment of the spacer on the application and solidification of at least one foam track, wherein the spacer is formed by the solidified foam track.
Also by means of a foam track can be realized in a continuous process in a simple and cost-effective manner, a spacer. In this case, a foam can be used, which cures automatically after application.
In a further development of the invention, the spacer has a height of at least 0.2 mm and at most 5 mm, preferably between 1 mm and 3 mm.
In this way, reasonable distances between outer shell and inner cup can be realized. Already at a distance of 0.2 mm, a good insulation effect, at 1 mm, a very good insulation effect is achieved. Up to a distance of 5 mm, the double-walled cup produced is sufficiently stable. Of course, this also depends on the thickness of the material of the outer sheath and on the number of gluing points between outer sheath and inner cup. In general, however, that the larger the adhesive surface between the outer shell and inner cup, the insulation effect of the cup produced deteriorates.
In a further development of the invention, the spacer is applied to an inner side of the planar segment and before placing the flat segment on the inner cup an outer side of the inner cup is provided with at least one adhesive trace for fixing the outer shell on the inner cup.
In this way, the segment is provided with one or more spacers and the outside of the inner cup with at least one trace of adhesive. Both the spacer and the adhesive track can thereby be applied unaffected from each other. When placing the flat segment on the inner cup, the adhesive trace is indeed where it is touched by the spacer, compressed, but due to the spacer or more spacers during the winding of the outer shell but then still obtain a distance between the outer shell and the inner cup.
In a further development of the invention, a plurality of strip-shaped spacers are applied distributed over the inner surface of the planar segment and / or over the outer surface of the inner cup.
In this way, a particularly uniform distance over the entire circumference of the sleeve of the inner cup can be ensured.
In a further development of the invention, a plurality of rectilinear, strip-shaped spacers are arranged parallel to one another or, viewed in the longitudinal direction of the strip-shaped spacers, with increasing or decreasing distance from one another on the inside of the planar segment.
The application of a plurality of rectilinear, strip-shaped spacers on the inside of the planar segment can take place in a particularly simple manner, namely, during a linear transport movement of the planar segment, the spacers are applied by means of nozzles. On the finished cup, these strip-shaped spacers then run exactly in the height direction only in the case of a cylindrical cup, and in the case of a conical cup, the spacers then run obliquely to the height direction. In order to extend the spacers on the finished cup exactly parallel to the vertical direction even with a conical cup, they can be arranged with increasing or decreasing distance from each other on the inside of the planar segment.
In an apparatus for carrying out the method according to the invention, at least one device, in particular a nozzle, is provided for attaching the at least one spacer.
By means of a nozzle, a spacer can be applied in a particularly simple manner, for example by applying an adhesive trace, a track of paper pulp or a foam trace.
In a further development of the invention, transport means are provided for moving the planar segment along a section-wise rectilinear or circular path, wherein the at least one device for attaching the spacer is arranged on a rectilinear or circular section of the path.
In this way, a spacer or a plurality of spacers can be applied in a very simple manner during a straight-line or circular transport of the flat segment.
The invention also provides an improved double-walled paper or paper-like cup having an inner cup having a sleeve and a bottom and provided with an outer jacket surrounding the inner cup, between the inner surface of the outer cup and the outer surface of the sleeve the inner cup at least one strip-shaped spacer in the form of a solidified adhesive trace, a track of solidified paper pulp and / or a solidified foam track with a height between 0.2 mm and 5 mm, in particular between 1 mm and 3 mm, is provided.
By providing one or more such spacers, it is ensured, on the one hand, that a constant distance between outer jacket and inner cup is achieved when the outer jacket is wound around the inner cup. In addition, when providing a plurality of spacers can also be achieved that a user when gripping the cup does not accidentally reduce the distance between the outer shell and inner cup. As a result, the insulating behavior of the cup can be improved in use, optionally, the outer sheath can be made of thinner or less stable material.

During a step of the method according to the invention, an originally
