Definitions
- the present invention relates to a clasp with a folding clasp and in particular a clasp with a folding clasp for a watch strap.
- a clasp of this type is known from the document EP 1 279 349 and comprises a female component mounted on an upper folding arm and a male component mounted on a lower folding arm articulated to the upper folding arm.
- the clasp further comprises a pusher movable against a return spring about a pivot axis fixed relative to the female component to lock the two male and female components by pivoting said pusher.
- To unlock said clasp it is first necessary to rotate the pusher against the action of the return spring and while maintaining the pusher in its rotated position, it is then necessary to manually disengage the male component of the female component.
- the unlocking operation takes place in two stages and can be difficult to implement for the wearer of a bracelet provided with such a clasp.
- the object of the present invention is the production of a clasp with folding clasp whose unlocking is simplified and easily implemented even for the wearer of the bracelet or any other object comprising the clasp.
- Another object of the present invention is the production of a clasp folding clasp avoiding inadvertent unlocking.
- the present invention also aims to provide a clasp of simple construction comprising a small number of elements.
- the fixed blade 1 has two substantially parallel longitudinal members 10, 11.
- the first movable blade 2 is articulated at the first ends 10a, 11a of the longitudinal members 10, 11 of the fixed blade 1, while the second movable blade 3 is articulated at the second ends 10b, 11b of the longitudinal members 10, 11 of the blade fixed 1.
- the first and second movable blades 2, 3 are articulated to the fixed blade 1 by means for example of fixing bars 41 and fastening rivets 42. It is obvious that any other suitable means of articulation and known to the one skilled in the art could be used to articulate the movable blades 2, 3 to the fixed blade 1.
- the fixed blade 1, in particular the longerons 10, 11 and the first and second movable blades 2, 3 are shaped so that the first and second movable blades 2, 3 can be folded on the fixed blade 1 between the side members 10, 11 of said fixed blade 1 so that once folded, the fixed and movable blades 1, 2, 3 are substantially in the same plane and that their thickness does not exceed that of the fixed blade 1 (see figure 3 ).
- the fixed blade 1 also has a support 12 located between the longitudinal members 10, 11.
- the longitudinal members 10, 11 and the support 12 forming the fixed blade 1 have come from a single piece obtained for example by a plastic deformation process.
- the support 12 could be screwed, welded, or otherwise secured to the rails 10, 11.
- Two pushers 7, 8 are pivotally mounted on the support 12. Each of the two pushers 7, 8 pivots about a respective pivot axis 70, 80 fixed on the support 12 by means of screws 43 for example. In addition, each of the pushers 7, 8 is pivotally mounted on the support 12 of the fixed blade 1 independently against the action of an independent elastic force.
- the independent elastic force is constituted by return springs 71, 81.
- the return springs 71, 81 are bending springs of the "pin" type.
- Each pusher 7, 8 has a flange 72, 82 cooperating respectively with a stop 13, 14 of the support 12 of the fixed blade 1 to limit the rotation of the pushers 7, 8.
- the return springs 71, 81, the flanges 72, 82 pushers 7, 8 and the stops 13, 14 of the support 12 of the fixed blade 1 are shaped so that under the action of said springs 71, 81, the flanges 72, 82 come into contact with the stops 13, 14 respectively. This position of the pushers 7, 8 bearing against the stops 13, 14 is their rest position.
- Each of the first and second movable blades 2, 3 has a free end 20, 30.
- These free ends 20, 30 each comprise fixing means 44 for connecting the first and second movable blades 2, 3 to a bracelet strand, in particular two strands of a watch strap (no illustrated).
- this bracelet can be elastic or not, leather or metal or have any other suitable form.
- the free end 20 of the first movable blade 2 has an opening 21 in which is housed a detent ball 6.
- This detent ball 6 is intended to cooperate with a stud 9 fixed on the support 12 of the fixed blade 1 by means of a screw 45 for example.
- the opening 21, the detent ball 6 and the stud 9 form resilient locking means shaped to maintain the first movable blade 2 in its folded position on the fixed blade 1. This position of the first movable blade 2 in which it is held folded on the fixed blade 1 by the resilient locking means is a first locked position of the first movable blade 2 relative to the fixed blade 1.
- the free end 30 of the second movable blade 3 has in turn two shoulders 31 arranged laterally on either side of the movable blade 3 (only one shoulder is clearly visible in the figures). These shoulders 31 may for example be obtained by cutting in the second movable blade 3. These shoulders 31 are intended to cooperate respectively with a rounded flank 73, 83 of each of the pushers 7, 8.
- the shoulder 31 and the rounded flanks 73, 83 pushers 7, 8 are shaped so that when the second movable blade 3 is folded over the fixed blade 1, the two shoulders 31 respectively come into contact with the rounded sides 73, 83 of the pushers 7, 8.
- the pushers 7, 8 each further comprise a lug 74, 84 respectively having an inclined plane 75, 85.
- the lugs 74, 84 are intended to cooperate with the free end 20 of the first movable blade 2 to release it from its first locked position relative to the fixed blade 1. In the first locked position of the first movable blade 2 relative to the fixed blade, by pivoting the pushers 7, 8 against the action of their respective return spring 71, 81 said lugs 74, 84 come into contact with inclined planes 22 of the free end 20 of the first fixed blade 2.
- the inclined planes 75, 85 of said lugs 74, 84 and said inclined planes 22 of the free end 20 of the first movable blade 2 respectively cooperate to lift the first movable blade 2 relative to the fixed blade 1 and release said blade 2 from the action of the elastic locking means by disengaging the detent ball 6 of the stud 9.
- the first and second movable blades 2, 3 are unfolded relative to the fixed blade 1.
- the first movable blade 2 is folded over the fixed blade 1 to be brought into its first locked position relative to said fixed blade 1, in which position the elastic locking means keep folded on said fixed blade 1.
- the first movable blade 2 is folded over the fixed blade 1 until the detent ball 6 of the free end 20 of the first movable blade 2 cooperates with the stud 9 fixed on the support 12 of the fixed blade 1, to lock the first movable blade 2 in its first locked position.
- the second movable blade 3 is then folded over the fixed blade 1. As described above, by folding the second movable blade 3 on the fixed blade 1, the shoulder 31 of the free end 30 of the second movable blade 3 come into contact respectively against the rounded flanks 73, 83 of the pushers 7, 8. A force exerted on the second movable blade 3 parallel to the pivot axes 70, 80 of the pushers 7, 8 and directed towards the support 12 rotates said pushers 7, 9 against the action of their respective return spring 71, 81 following the cooperation of the shoulder 31 of the second movable blade 3 and the rounded flanks 73, 83 of the pushers 7, 8. The second movable blade 3 can then be fully folded over the fixed blade 1 and the pushers 7, 8 resume their rest position under the action of their respective return spring 71, 81, rest position in which they now cover the shoulders 31 preventing the deployment of the second movable blade 3.
- the second locking means consist of a covering of a part of the first movable blade 2 by the second movable blade 3.
- the free end 20 of the first movable blade 2 has a projection 23 intended to to become housed in a clearance 32 of the free end of the second movable blade 3.
- the free end 30 of the second movable blade 3 partly covers the free end 20 of the first movable blade 2 when said first movable blade 2 is in its locked position relative to the fixed blade and the second movable blade 3 is folded over the fixed blade 1.
- the second movable blade 3 is held in its folded position by the pushers 7, 8 which cover the shoulders 31 of said second movable blade 3 and the first movable blade 2 is held in its locked position at the both by the resilient locking means and by the covering of the second movable blade 3. Therefore, in the locked position of the clasp, a force exerted on the first movable blade 2 and directed substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of said blade towards the outside of the clasp fails to unfold said blade, and in particular fails to release the first movable blade resilient locking means.
- the locking of the clasp is particularly safe: indeed, once the clasp is locked, the first and second movable blades 2, 3 can not be deployed by the action of a force exerted on said blades and directed essentially parallel to the pivot axes 70, 80 of the pushers 7, 8 and away from the support 12 nor by the action of a force exerted on said blades and directed substantially parallel to their longitudinal axis.
- the pivoting of the pushers 7, 8 has two simultaneous effects which have been described separately above: first, the lugs 74, 84 of the pushers 7, 8 cooperate with the inclined planes 22 of the free end 20 of the first movable blade 2 to lift it and release the elastic locking means, that is to say disengage the latching ball 6 of the stud 9 carried by the support 12. At the same time, from the pivoting of the pushers 7, 8 against their respective return spring 71, 81, the shoulder 31 of the free end 30 of the second movable blade 3 are no longer covered by said pushers 7, 8 and the second movable blade is free to be unfolded.
- the first movable blade 2 raised by the lugs 74, 84 of the pushers 7, 8 then drives with it the second movable blade 3 by the cooperation between the projection 23 of the free end 20 of the first blade 2 and the clearance 32 of the free end 30 of the second movable blade 3.
- simultaneous pressing of the two pushers 7, 8 allows to release simultaneously and in one operation the first and second movable blades 2, 3.
- the disengagement of the latching ball of the stud 9 at the moment of unlocking the clasp eject the first movable blade 2 and the second movable blade 3 simultaneously from the fixed blade.
- no other action than the simultaneous pressing of the two pushers 7, 8 is necessary to unlock the clasp and in particular to separate the first and second movable blades 2, 3 of the fixed blade 1.
- the clasp according to the invention may not include elastic locking means for holding the first movable blade 2 in its folded position on the fixed blade 1 when the second movable blade 3 is unfolded.
- locking the clasp is less easy since once the first movable blade 2 folded on the fixed blade 1, nothing maintains said first movable blade 2 in this position until the second movable blade 3 is at his turn folded on the fixed blade.
- the absence of elastic locking means does not influence the unlocking of a clasp according to this variant which is in all respects similar to that described above.
- a clasp according to this variant therefore has the same advantages as the clasp described above as to its unlocking.
- the resilient locking means could comprise two detent balls each located on a lateral side of the first movable blade 2 and cooperating with respective notches present on the inner sides of the longitudinal members 10, 11 of the fixed blade.
- the other components of a clasp according to this variant, its locking and unlocking are in all respects similar to those described above.
- the clasp according to the invention could have only one pusher 7 pivotally mounted on the support 12. Said single pusher would be in this variant completely similar to one of the pushers 7, 8 described in the form of execution above.
- the modifications implied by such a variant for the other components of the clasp, its locking and unlocking will be clear to those skilled in the art.
- the clasp according to the invention has many advantages.
- the clasp being shaped to "eject" simultaneously the two movable blades 2, 3 when the user simultaneously presses the two pushers 7, 8, the unlocking of the clasp is greatly facilitated and is done in one operation for the user: it is indeed not necessary to dislodge manually one of the movable blades 2, 3.
- the clasp according to the invention comprises few parts thus reducing its size and making it suitable for any type of bracelet.
- the parts that compose it are easily achievable by a plastic deformation process for example also facilitating the miniaturization of the clasp.

Description
The present invention relates to a clasp with a folding clasp and in particular a clasp with a folding clasp for a watch strap.
The object of the present invention is the production of a clasp with folding clasp whose unlocking is simplified and easily implemented even for the wearer of the bracelet or any other object comprising the clasp. Another object of the present invention is the production of a clasp folding clasp avoiding inadvertent unlocking. The present invention also aims to provide a clasp of simple construction comprising a small number of elements.
- les première et seconde lames dépliantes sont agencées pour qu'une fois repliées sur la lame fixe, la seconde lame dépliante recouvre en partie la première lame dépliante, de manière à ce que, à partir de leur position repliée sur la lame fixe, tout déploiement de la première lame dépliante entraîne un déploiement de la seconde lame dépliante ;
- le poussoir et la seconde lame dĂ©pliante sont agencĂ©s pour que lorsque la seconde lame dĂ©pliante est repliĂ©e sur la lame fixe, ladite seconde lame dĂ©pliante vienne en butĂ©e contre le poussoir et pour qu'une force exercĂ©e sur ladite lame dĂ©pliante essentiellement parallèlement Ă l'axe de pivotement du poussoir et dirigĂ©e vers la lame fixe entraĂ®ne le pivotement du poussoir d'une première amplitude amenant ledit poussoir dans une première position oĂ¹ la seconde lame dĂ©pliante n'est plus en butĂ©e contre ledit poussoir et peut Ăªtre rabattue complètement sur la lame fixe et pour que le poussoir rappelĂ© depuis ladite première position dans sa position initiale de repos par la force Ă©lastique de rappel empĂªche tout mouvement de la seconde lame dĂ©pliante par rapport Ă la lame fixe ;
- the first and second folding blades are arranged so that when folded on the fixed blade, the second folding blade partially covers the first folding blade, so that, from their folded position on the fixed blade, any deployment the first folding blade causes a deployment of the second folding blade;
- the pusher and the second folding blade are arranged so that when the second folding blade is folded over the fixed blade, said second folding blade comes into abutment against the pusher and for a force exerted on said folding blade substantially parallel to the axis pivoting the pusher and directed towards the fixed blade causes the pivoting of the pusher of a first amplitude bringing said pusher in a first position where the second folding leaf is no longer in abutment against said pusher and can be folded completely on the fixed blade and for the pusher recalled from said first position to its initial rest position by the elastic return force prevents any movement of the second folding blade relative to the fixed blade;
- the pusher still has unlocking means arranged so that, when the first and second folding blades are folded over the fixed blade, the second folding blade covering a portion of the first and being locked by the pusher, a pivoting of the pusher against the action of the elastic force of a second amplitude, greater than the first amplitude brings said pusher in a second position in which the pusher no longer prevents the deployment of the second folding blade and wherein said unlocking means cooperate with the first folding blade to lift it and away from the fixed blade taking with it the second folding blade.

figure 1 comprises afixed blade 1 on which are articulated a firstmovable blade 2 and a secondmovable blade 3.
Each of the first and second
The
In order to ensure a good locking of the clasp and in particular of the first
Thus, once the clasp is locked, the second
By its construction, the locking of the clasp is particularly safe: indeed, once the clasp is locked, the first and second
The present embodiment has been described by way of example only. Alternatively, the clasp according to the invention may not include elastic locking means for holding the first
Alternatively also, the resilient locking means could comprise two detent balls each located on a lateral side of the first
In another variant, the clasp according to the invention could have only one
The clasp according to the invention has many advantages. The clasp being shaped to "eject" simultaneously the two
