Abstract

The distributor (10) has a support (12) provided with a hooking unit (14) for fixing the distributor to a toilet bowl. An absorbing mass (18) is arranged in a flow of flushing water when the distributor is fixed to the bowl. A distribution tube (24) distributes a product. Distribution openings (28) of the tube deliver the product to the absorbing mass, where the distribution opening is distinct from a filling opening (26). The distribution tube is integrated to the support. An independent claim is also included for a method for distributing a cleaning product in a toilet bowl.

Description

The present invention relates to a dispenser for cleaning products for toilet bowls, and more specifically to a dispenser for cleaning and / or perfuming for toilets.

Various solutions have been proposed to distribute in the toilet bowls cleaning and / or perfuming products. Thus, are sold blocks intended to be arranged in flushing water. The blocks melt slowly and diffuse a cleaning product. Such a product can satisfy in terms of cleaning, but it does not allow to diffuse a perfume. It is also known to hang on the edge of the toilet a cage, containing a block of product which is washed by the water flowing from the flush when it is actuated. Such a block of product, which is in the open air, can have no scenting effect throughout its life. In both cases, the problem stems from the fact that perfuming products are volatile, and lose their perfuming effect when exposed to the air and that the quantity of product they release at each hunt decreases at as the block decreases in volume.

US-A-3,946,448 (El Sioufy ) describes a device for disinfection and chemical purification for toilet bowls. The device is fixed on the inner rim of the bowl; it comprises a tank filled with disinfection and purification product. The tank is closed in its lower part by a plug, biased upwards by a spring located in the tank. This device essentially has the disadvantage of being made up of a large number of articulated parts, which makes it cost prohibitive.

EP-A-0 538 957 (Sara Lee ) describes a cleaning device and purification, which like the previous clings on the edge of the toilet bowl. The device comprises a reservoir, filled with a cleaning and purification liquid, which is in constant communication with a porous mass in the flow path of the water from the flush. To ensure constant communication, this document proposes to use a foam introduced into the neck of the tank. When flushing the water, the water flows and causes some of the product that soaks the porous mass. The chemical purification effect is obtained by the evaporation of the product impregnating the porous mass, between the flushing of water. This device has the disadvantage that the tank is empty sometimes, even when the toilet is not used. More precisely, the flow is not systematically continuous; the flow stops when the plate is saturated, depending on the viscosity, temperature, and frequency of the flushes. The Device operation is erratic, and the service life may vary from single to double.

In addition, it is provided in this document to be able to recharge the reservoir with cleaning liquid. To do this, the tank must be detached from a foam support and then returned to access the opening of the tank. This charging process is unhygienic, so that in practice it is never implemented. On the contrary, the device is generally replaced in its entirety. This implies a significant consumption of plastic and recycling problems that result.

EP-A-0 785 315 (Sara Lee ) proposes another device of the same kind. This device proposes to provide in the neck of the reservoir a liquid passage, opening against the porous mass; the liquid passage is provided with an air inlet opening. The viscosity of the product and the size of the passages and openings are determined such that the pressure of the liquid on the porous mass is constant and is independent of the level of liquid in the reservoir. This device provides a complex solution to the problem of the variation of the product flow depending on the level in the tank, but still has the same drawbacks, namely that the tank empties, even when the toilet is not used, and that the operation of the device is irregular.

Another similar device marketed by La Johnson Française proposes to use, in place of a porous mass, a grooved plate. In this case, as in the case of the porous mass, there is the problem of the upwellings in the tank by osmosis because of the direct contact between the water of the flush absorbed by the porous mass or captured by the grooved plate and the liquid contained in the tank. The problem of product flow between two hunts also arises.

It is also known to WO 96/38637 (Henkel KG ) a device for dispensing cleaning liquid into the toilet bowl. This device comprises a reservoir adapted to be disposed under the rim of the toilet bowl to be rinsed by the flushing liquid. The tank has at least one inlet and one outlet for the flushing liquid. The device also includes a catch hook of the tank at the edge of the toilet bowl. The reservoir is partially filled with a gel, so that the flushing liquid entering the reservoir takes up a quantity of gel before being discharged into the toilet bowl.

EP-A-1,287,211 of the applicant proposes a product dispensing device for toilet bowl clinging to the rim of the bowl. The cleaning product is contained in a tank in communication with a tube. The tube presents less an opening of a size preventing the flow of liquid in the absence of flushing. During a flush, the flow of water in the vicinity of the tube or along it causes a depression by hydrodynamic effect, and ensures the suction of the liquid out of the dispenser.

EP-A-1,878,168 of the applicant describes a product dispensing device for toilet bowl comprising at least two compartments. Each compartment is, via its lower part, connected with a free opening of a size which prevents the flow of the maintenance liquid out of said compartment in the absence of flushing. The openings of the compartments open at one end of a tube, the other end of the tube being open.

Moreover, it is known to US 6,505,356 B1 , EP 0 538 957 A1 and US 2001/0013142 A1 liquid dispensers of the type comprising a body and a suspension hook of the body at the edge of the toilet bowl. A reservoir of maintenance fluid is attached to the body. A tray, at the body, on which is fixed a porous mass, allows to bring the liquid from the reservoir into a position within the flow of water flush.

The dispensers described above have product reservoirs and more or less complex devices for distributing the product in the flushing water. The presence of one or more tanks imposes a relatively large size of the dispenser, the tank or tanks can not be retracted under the rim of the bowl. In addition, the flow of the cleaning product in the flushing water is not always regular because dependent on the air inlet into the tank.

Finally, the refilling of active liquid tanks is not usually expected which implies that the distributor must be completely renewed, once the tank emptied. When, however, it is expected to be able to recharge the tank, the charging process is complex and unhygienic.

There is therefore a need for a dispensing device for cleaning and / or perfuming product in toilet bowls that is simplified and of reduced size. In addition, there is a need for a toilet cleaning dispenser device that is easily and hygienically refillable.

For this purpose, the invention proposes to ensure a regular distribution of product in the flush water by means of an absorbent mass impregnated with product by a dispensing tube. The dispensing tube allows to soak the absorbent mass initially or when it has been washed with any cleaning product.

No tank is to change, the amount of packaging used is greatly reduced. The absence of tank also allows a more compact and almost retractable arrangement under the rim of the bowl. The aesthetic is thus improved. The use of a simplified and more aesthetic system also allows for a cage longer and more ergonomic compared to the edge of the bowl partly hidden by the rim and the underside of the water inlet during actuation hunting.

In addition, because of the use of the dispensing tube, it is easy to recharge the absorbent mass with the maintenance liquid. This refill is done without having to touch the dispensing device. The refill is therefore more hygienic than the refilling of the dispensing devices of the prior art.

  • un support muni de moyens d'accrochage à la cuvette ;
  • au moins une masse absorbante disposée dans le trajet de l'eau de la chasse lorsque le distributeur est accroché sur la cuvette ;

According to preferred embodiments, the method according to the invention comprises one or more of the following characteristics taken alone or in combination:
  • the method further comprises a step of reloading the dispensing tube with cleaning product without unhooking the toilet bowl care product dispenser; and
  • the recharging stage is carried out after 50 to 150 hunts.

  • la figure 1 représente en coupe un schéma d'un distributeur de produit d'entretien selon un premier exemple ;

Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will appear on reading the following description of a preferred embodiment of the invention, given by way of example and with reference to the appended drawings in which:
  • the figure 1 shows in section a diagram of a maintenance product dispenser according to a first example;
  • the figure 2 represents in front view of the distributor components of the figure 1 ;
  • the figure 3 represents an example of support that can be implemented in the distributor of the figure 1 ;
  • the figure 4 represents in perspective a second example of a maintenance product dispenser according to a first example; and
  • the figure 5 represents in section a third example of a maintenance product dispenser.

As shown on the figure 1 , a distributor 10 of cleaning product for toilet bowls, comprises a support 12 secured to means 14 for attachment to the bowl. The attachment means to the bowl are here made in the form of a rod (or tab) 15 terminated by a hook 16 adapted to be hooked on the rim of the toilet bowl.

  • nettoyantes,
  • désinfectantes,
  • détartrantes,
  • désodorisantes,
  • parfumantes, etc.
The dispenser 10 is advantageously used to dispense a product which is a liquid. The product may include surfactants, fragrance essences, emulsifiers, limescale removers or sequestering agents, disinfectants or dyes. The active components of the liquid may have, separately or together, properties:
  • cleaning,
  • disinfectant,
  • descaling,
  • deodorizing,
  • fragrant, etc.

The support 12 is adapted to receive an absorbent mass 18 so that the absorbent mass 18 is disposed in the path of the flush water when the dispenser 10 is suspended in the toilet bowl.

En l'espèce, le support 12 forme un logement en creux dans lequel est insérée la masse absorbante 18.In this case, the support 12 forms a recessed housing into which the absorbent mass 18 is inserted.

This housing is closed on the face intended to be oriented towards the top of the toilet bowl by a grid 20. This grid 20:
  • prevents direct access to the absorbent mass 18 and the product it contains, in particular by a young child,
  • leaves the absorbent mass 18 in contact with the ambient air, so that a larger quantity of maintenance product contained in this absorbent mass can evaporate and ensure a deodorizing and / or perfuming effect,
  • allows the flushing liquid to rinse the absorbent mass 18 with each flush, so that the flushing water is loaded with cleaning product before being discharged into the toilet bowl, and
  • retains the absorbent mass in the receiving housing provided for this purpose in the support, during hunting, especially when the flushing liquid passes through the support 12.

Other means of maintaining the absorbent mass in place during the flush may be provided additionally or alternatively to the grid. For example, the housing may have a lower bowl-shaped surface such that the absorbent mass is received in the depression of the bowl.

Furthermore, the support 12 has a plurality of discharge openings 22, intended to allow the passage of the flushing liquid after it has passed through the absorbent mass 18 and is thus loaded with maintenance product. These discharge openings 22 are provided on the figure 1 on the underside of the support 12, that is to say its face intended to be oriented towards the bottom of the toilet bowl when the dispensing device 10 is suspended in the toilet bowl.

As shown on the figure 1 , the support 12 is made integrally with the attachment means 14. However, as shown in FIG. figure 3 , the support 12 may be made separately from the attachment means. In this case, the support 12 may have a sleeve 36 forming a housing 38 for receiving the attachment means 14, in particular for receiving the rod 15. The rod 15 may be force-fitted into the housing 38. Advantageously, the rod 15 has ribs for adjusting the attachment height of the support 12 in the toilet bowl.

The absorbent mass 18 preferably has a water absorption capacity of between 1 and 8 times its dry weight. The absorbent mass 18 also preferably has dimensions such that it has an absorption capacity of 30 to 60 ml of maintenance product, this amount of maintenance product corresponding to 4 weeks of normal use of the products. bathroom.

The absorbent mass may be composed of one or more layers of different density and absorption.

The absorbent mass may in particular be bleached cellulose, cellulose, melamine resin foam or polyvinyl acetate (PVA). The absorbent mass can be chemically treated to further enhance its absorption capabilities.

The dispensing device 10 further comprises a tube 24 for dispensing the cleaning product. The dispensing tube may be made integrally with the attachment means or separately. In the latter case, the dispensing tube may be attached to the attachment means, in particular the rod 15, by clipping, gluing or any other method known to those skilled in the art.

This distribution tube 24 has a filling opening 26 and at least one dispensing opening 28, distinct from the filling opening 26.

The filling opening 26 allows in particular the filling of the distribution tube 24 with a cleaning product for the toilet bowl.

The dispensing opening 28 makes it possible to distribute this maintenance product in the absorbent mass 18. To do this, the dispensing opening 28 may take the form of a distribution slot extending in a plane perpendicular to the plane This slot opens on the absorbent mass 18. The slot may for example extend over the entire length of the dispensing tube 24 or on a central portion, only, of the dispensing tube 24. The slot of FIG. distribution may have a width between 0.2 and 5 mm thick.

Alternatively, and as shown in FIG. figure 2 , the dispensing tube 24 may comprise a plurality of dispensing openings distributed along the length of this dispensing tube 24 and opening on the absorbent mass. In this case, the distribution tube 24 has between 1 and 8 distribution openings, the diameter of which is between 1 and 3 mm. Such a diameter prevents the maintenance product from drying in the openings and thus prevents the smooth flow of the care product to the absorbent mass.

The openings are preferably equi-distributed along the length (i.e., on a dimension measured parallel to the plane of the upper surface of the absorbent mass) of the dispensing tube. The slot or the dispensing openings make it possible to ensure a homogeneous distribution of the maintenance liquid throughout the volume of the sponge and thus to increase the efficiency of the dispenser for given dimensions, since the absorbent mass is thus imbibed with a larger amount of maintenance fluid.

The use of a distribution tube makes it possible to imbibe more homogeneously the absorbent mass, especially when it is of considerable length relative to its width. Indeed, the absorbent mass may especially have a length of between 12 and 20 cm, a width of between 2.5 and 5 cm and a thickness of between 1 and 3 cm, in order to increase the volume of flushing liquid the absorbent mass impregnated with maintenance product. It should be noted that the absorbent mass can be achieved by means of one, two or more separate unit absorbent masses.

The absorbent mass, because of its great length and its small width, can be concealed, at least partially, under the rim of the toilet bowl to improve the aesthetic appearance of the dispenser of cleaning product, reducing , especially the size of the dispenser in the visible part of the toilet bowl compared to a conventional dispenser.

The dispensing device 10 also includes, as illustrated in FIG. figure 1 , a feed tube 30 extending in a direction substantially parallel to the means 14 for hooking the support. The feed tube 30 has an upper opening 32 and a lower opening opening on the filling opening 26 of the dispensing tube 24. The upper opening of the feed tube 32 is free or closed by a grid or by a valve , to allow the introduction of maintenance product into this feed tube.

The upper opening 32 has a diameter of between 6 and 10 mm. This makes it possible to introduce a conventional tip of a cleaning product bottle, intended to guide the cleaning product when it is poured. The feed tube 30 is coupled to the dispensing tube 24 so that all the maintenance fluid which is poured into the feed tube 30, via the upper opening 32, passes into the dispensing tube 24, at the same time. inside which it is distributed before being evacuated, at least partially, through the different distribution openings. The tube supply can be made integrally with the dispensing tube, or separately. The supply and distribution tubes can be fixed to one another by gluing, clipping or any other method known to those skilled in the art.

As it is more clearly visible on the figure 2 , the feed tube 30 preferably has a semicircular shaped section whose base is supported on the attachment means of the support 14 to limit the bulk of the feed tube 30. In this case, a groove 34 is hollowed into the flat base of the feed tube 30, which groove is complementary to the rod 15. A connection of the dovetail type is thus formed between the feed tube 30 and the rod 15 means of hooking of the support 14.

The dispenser 100 differs from the dispenser 10 according to the first example in that the support 12 receives two absorbent masses 18 1 , 18 2 . The two absorbent masses are each received in a separate housing, the two housings being separated by a wall 40.

Removable grids, not shown, can each close one of two housings, on the upper face when the dispenser 100 is hooked to the toilet bowl. These grids:
  • prevent direct access to the absorbent masses, especially by a toddler,
  • leave the absorbent masses in contact with the ambient air, so that a larger quantity of maintenance product contained in these absorbent masses evaporates and ensures a deodorizing and / or perfuming effect,
  • allow the flushing liquid to rinse the absorbent masses with each flush, so that flush water is loaded with each of the cleaning products before being discharged into the toilet bowl, while maintaining the absorbent masses in place during the hunt.

Preferably these grids are located above the dispenser tube 24 to prevent direct access to the care product, especially by a toddler.

Each housing here has a bowl shape such that the absorbent mass 18 1, 18 2 is at least partially received in the recessed volume of the bowl. Here, each of the absorbent masses is totally received in the recessed volume of the bowl, that is to say that the upper surface of each absorbent mass, opposed to the surface resting on the bottom of the housing, is at the same level as the rim of the bowl formed by the housing.

To allow the evacuation of the flushing liquid loaded with cleaning product, the support 12 comprises evacuation openings 22 1 , 22 2 . Unlike the first example of a distributor of figure 1 , the discharge openings 22 1 , 22 2 are not here made on the bottom face of the support 12. On the contrary, the discharge openings 22 1 , 22 2 are here made on a lateral surface of the support 12. More specifically, here, the discharge openings 22 1 , 22 2 are formed at the rim of the bowl formed by the housing of the support 12, to allow the evacuation of liquid overflowing from this bowl. In other words, the lower wall of the discharge openings 22 1 , 22 2 is substantially at the same level as the rim of the bowl formed by the housing of the support 12.

The dispenser 100 further comprises a dispensing tube 24, of the type described in the first example, and a feed tube 30, similar to the feed tube 30 of the first embodiment.

The operation of the dispenser 100 according to the second example is as follows. In case of hunting, the flushing liquid is guided towards the absorbent masses received in the hollow volumes of the bowls formed by the housing of the support 12. When the volume of flushing liquid exceeds the hollow volume of the bowl, the overflow flushing liquid, loaded with cleaning product thanks to the soaked absorbent mass, is discharged through the discharge openings 22 1 , 22 2 . Such a mode of operation allows in particular to avoid run-off of maintenance product between two hunts.

The figure 5 represents a third example of a dispenser 200 maintenance product. This dispenser 200 is particularly suitable for dispensing two incompatible cleaning products in the toilet bowl. Incompatible products are products which react with each other when they are brought into contact. The two incompatible products may have different actions, for example a deodorant or scenting product and a cleaner or descaler.

Identical or identical elements to the elements of the first and second examples of figures 1 and 4 bear on the figure 5 , the same reference number. These identical elements or identical function are not described in more detail here for the sake of brevity of the present description.

The dispenser 200 differs from the dispenser 10 according to the first example in that the support 12 receives two absorbent masses 18 1 , 18 2 . The two absorbent masses are preferably each received in a separate housing, the two housings being separated by a wall 40. Grids 20 1 , 20 2 removable close each one of two housings, preferably on the upper face when the dispenser 200 is hooked to the toilet bowl.

The grids are preferably located above the dispensing tube to prevent access to the cleaning product, especially by a toddler.

Le mode fonctionnement du distributeur 200 est alors identique au mode de fonctionnement du distributeur 100.Other means of maintaining the absorbent masses in place during the flush may be provided additionally or alternatively to the grid. In particular, the housings can be of the form described in the case of the second example of distributor of the figure 4 . The operating mode of the distributor 200 is then identical to the operating mode of the distributor 100.

Pour permettre l'évacuation du liquide de chasse chargé en produit d'entretien, le support 12 comporte des ouvertures d'évacuations 221, 222.To allow the evacuation of the flushing liquid loaded with cleaning product, the support 12 comprises evacuation openings 22 1 , 22 2 .

The distributor 200 further comprises two distribution tubes 24 1 , 24 2 . Each of these two distribution tubes 24 1 , 24 2 is of the type described in the context of the first embodiment. Each distribution tube 24 1 , 24 2 is associated with a clean absorbent mass, to avoid any risk of mixing incompatible products.

To each distribution tube 24 1 , 24 2 can be associated a feed tube 30 1, 30 2 . Each feed tube may be similar to the feed tube 30 of the first embodiment.

  • accrocher à la cuvette des toilettes le distributeur de produit d'entretien ;
  • remplir de produit le ou les tubes de distribution ;
  • diffuser le produit d'entretien depuis le ou les tubes de distribution dans la ou les masses absorbantes ;
The dispensers as described above make it possible to implement a method of dispensing cleaning product in a toilet bowl, comprising the steps of:
  • hang on the toilet bowl the maintenance product dispenser;
  • fill the dispensing tube (s) with product;
  • diffusing the cleaning product from the distribution tube or tubes in the absorbing mass or masses;
  • at each flush, dilute some of the maintenance product contained in the absorbent mass (s) in the flushing water.

In addition, this method may comprise a step of reloading the distribution tube (s) with cleaning product without disconnecting the device from the toilet bowl. The recharging step can in particular be carried out after 50 to 150 hunts.

Alternatively, the dispensing device may be devoid of dispensing tube. In this case, the absorbing mass or masses are recharged directly in the absence of a distribution tube.

In addition, according to another variant, the support and the attachment means may be shaped to allow the positioning of the support 12, as well as the dispenser tube under the rim of the toilet bowl. This embodiment is particularly aesthetic since only the rod 15 of the attachment means remains directly visible in the toilet bowl.
