Description

    Technical Field
  • Technical solution concerns a fireplace insert and a fireplace stove with an outer convection jacket for solid fuel with a device for ventilation of an over-door space.
  • Background Art
  • In fireplace inserts and fireplace stoves with an outer convection jacket and an unventilated over-door space (Fig. 1; Reference 4), local overheating of surrounding parts of the door construction, of parts of the combustion chamber and of parts of the convection jacket occurs in this unventilated space. This results in bringing thermal tensions into construction of the heating body and thereby also in increasing the danger of damaging of some parts.
  • In case the over-door space is ventilated by a permanent slot (Fig. 2), there is a possibility of sucking smoke while the door is opened, and thereby intruding the smoke to a heated space, what is also undesirable.
  • There is a particularly strong need to solve these deficiencies in heating devices of larger dimensions where the ratio of door breadth (B) and door height (H) is higher than 1.5 (B/H)>1.5).
  • Document DE 102008008688 A1 discloses heat transmission system for transmission of heat from tiled stove to hot water central heating system for e.g. heating radiators, which has cover adapted to tiled stove, where system adjusts temperature by regulation system for heat consumers. The system has copper pipes, and a cover adapted to a tiled stove, where the system has size of 50 centimeters width, 30 centimeters height and 20 centimeters depth. The system is mounted at top of the stove, utilizes hot air of the stove, and transmits heat from the stove by disk transmitter. The system is connectable to a hot water heating system or operates a heat supply system. The system adjusts temperature by a regulation system for heat consumers, and an air flap between the tiled stove and the system regulates heat supply to a heat exchanger. In BE1006140 A5 perfecting of home wood fuel fires is disclosed. The fire has three air inlets on its front face, two horizontal air inlets situated at the same height as the top of the door, one of which acting as the air inlet and that descends the length of the glass section inside of the door to clear the smoke and as a reduced oxygen carrier and the other, acts as the inlet and regulation of additional oxygen, and an air inlet towards the top of the front face acting as a low pressure stabilizer.
  • Further, document US 4 179 065 A1 discloses a heating unit positioned within an air circulation conduit comprising a fireplace chamber for burning solid fuel, defined by fireplace chamber walls, a portion of said air circulation conduit being positioned about the exterior of the fireplace chamber walls, chimney means communicating with said fireplace chamber through said air circulation conduit, and an outer housing defining an outer chamber enclosing said fireplace chamber and the pumped air circulation conduit portion adjacent said fireplace chamber, air inlet means positioned at a lower portion of said outer housing and communicating with the outer chamber, and air outlet means positioned at an upper portion of said outer housing and communicating between said outer chamber and an indoors location for receiving hot air from said outlet means, to serve as an automatic means for cooling said air circulation conduit portion while warming the building by the convective circulation of air through said inlet.
  • The objective of the technical solution is to eliminate mentioned deficiencies and improve abovementioned utility parameters with the emphasis on user comfort.
  • Disclosure of the Invention
  • Mentioned deficiencies are considerably eliminated by a fireplace insert and a fireplace stove with an outer convection jacket for solid fuel with a device for ventilation of an over-door space, containing a combustion chamber, the door, the outer convection jacket and between the combustion chamber and the outer convection jacket an over-door space is located, which is separated from the flow channel of the flue duct. An over-door ventilation flap is pivotally mounted in the over-door space, the ventilation flap enables regulated flow of heated air in the over-door space. The air flowing in the over-door space is not the exhaust air proceeding from the combustion chamber, but it is the air from the heated space. Movement of the over-door ventilation flap is controlled by the movement of the door, so that the ventilation flap is interconnected with the door by means of a gearing, wherein the movement of the ventilation flap from an open position to a closed position is ensured by the movement of the door from a closed position to an open position and the movement of the ventilation flap from a closed position to an open position is ensured by the movement of the door from an open position to a closed position.
  • The advantage of this technical solution is that it enables ventilation of the over-door space and also prevents the possibility of intrusion of combustion products through the ventilated space to the heated space. By mounting the over-door ventilation flap to the over-door space, the convection heat transfer into the heated air is also increased in comparison with the construction with the unventilated over-door space.
  • The moving over-door ventilation flap enables regulated air flow in the over-door space between the combustion chamber and the convection jacket.
  • Overview of Figures in Drawings
  • The state of the art is explained in more detail in Figures 1 and 2, in which:
  • Fig. 1
shows in a simplified manner the cross section of the heating body with the unventilated over-door space, in which there are the combustion chamber (1), the door (2) and the outer convection jacket (3) with shown unventilated heated zone (4).
    Fig. 2
shows in a simplified manner the cross section of the heating body with the over-door space permanently ventilated through the slot (X).
The present invention is further explained in Figures 3 and 4, in which :
    Fig. 3
shows in a simplified manner the cross section of the heating body with the mounted ventilation flap (5)
    Fig. 4
shows in a simplified manner the detail of one alternative of interconnection of the movement of the door (2) with the movement of the ventilation flap (5) by means of the lever gearing (6)
Example of Embodiment of the Technical Solution Example 1
  • The fireplace insert according to Figures 3 and 4 containing the combustion chamber (1), the door (2) and the outer convection jacket (3). Between the combustion chamber (1) and the outer convection jacket (3) an over-door space is located, which was equipped with the ventilation flap (5), which moves pivotally from the first terminal position - open (Fig. 4, solid line) to the second terminal position - closed (Fig. 4, broken line) and enables regulated air flow in the over-door space between the combustion chamber (1) and the convection jacket (3). The air, which flows in the over-door space is the air from the heated space and as the over-door space is separated from the flow channel of the flue duct, the air passing through the over-door space is not the exhaust air proceeding from the combustion chamber.
  • The movement of the ventilation flap (5) is derived from the movement of the door (2) by means of the lever gearing (6), the door (2) in this described case moves sliding vertically in the direction of arrows.
  • After door (2) lifting, i.e. door (2) opening, the lever gearing (6) is disburdened, whereby enabling the ventilation flap (5) to move by its own weight to a position - closed, and thereby interrupting the possibility of air flow through the opening in the over-door space. Interconnection of the door (2) opening with the ventilation flap (5) closing ensures that smoke sucking from the combustion chamber (1) to over-door space through the open door (2) does not occur.
  • While closing the door (2), the door finger strikes the arm of the lever gearing (6), slews it and thereby opening the ventilation flap (5) by means of the second arm of the lever gearing (6).
  • Industrial Applicability
  • The technical solution is useful in manufacturing of fireplace inserts and fireplace stoves for solid fuel.
