- Said melting member 4 is cylindrically shaped and is furnished with two electric conductive bases 41, 42, which are located on both end regions thereof and are electrically interconnected by means of a not-shown electric conductive melting filament of each pre-determined electric resistance, so that said electric interconnection between said cups 41, 42 is interrupted due to melting of said filament of the melting member 4 as soon as each pre-defined electric current occurs.
- the casing 1 as such is generally available in standardized overall dimensions and consists of an electric insulation material, while on the back surface 10' thereof there are appropriate attaching means 11, 12 for reliable temporary or permanently attachment thereof onto each disposable ledge or similar bearing member, which is present in each distributing panel, and which is well-known to those skilled in the art and is therefore not shown in more detail in the enclosed drawing.
- said casing 1 is furnished with appropriate electric connectors 13, 14, namely with an input connector 13 and an output connector 14, which are adapted to cooperate with appropriate electric wires, which are also not shown in the drawing and belong to each corresponding electric circuit and, into which the switch according to the invention may be integrated when desired, upon which then such circuit is secured against overloading by means of such protective switch.
- Each of said connectors 13, 14 is electrically interconnected with a corresponding contact member 15, 16, which is located within said casing 1 and is adapted to cooperate with said electric conductive bases 41, 42 of the melting ember 4, when this last is correctly inserted into the switch according to the invention and the switch is ready for establishing an electric circuit arranged there-through.
- the input connector 13 is electrically interconnected with each corresponding contact member 15, which is in this particular embodiment available in form of a piece of an electric conductive metallic plate, which is bent in the form of letter U and is moreover deflected in a direction away from said back surface 10' of the casing 1, so that between two arms thereof each corresponding base 41 of the melting member 4 can be inserted in order to establish a desired electric contact between the melting member 4 and the input connector 13 on the casing 1 of the switch.
- the outlet connector 14 on the casing 1 of the switch according to the invention is by means of interrupter 17 electrically connected to the second contact member 16, which is in this particular embodiment formed quite similar like the previously mentioned connector 13 and similarly consists of a piece of electric conductive plate, which is bent into shape of letter U and deflected in a direction opposite to the back surface of the casing and is as such adapted to receive the second base 42 of the melting member 4, so that the melting member 4, when correctly inserted into said casing 1, is then via the interrupter 17 electrically interconnected with the previously mentioned outlet connector 14 on the casing 1.
- the interrupter 17 consists of a relatively rigid electric conductive plate 171, which is supported by a spring 172, which is in this particular embodiment a compression helical spring, by means of which said plate 171 is then pressed towards the outlet connector 14 and corresponding contact member 16, so that electric interconnection between them is established by means of said plate, which may optionally also be interrupted by pressing the plate 171 in the opposite direction against the force of said spring 172.
- a spring 172 which is in this particular embodiment a compression helical spring, by means of which said plate 171 is then pressed towards the outlet connector 14 and corresponding contact member 16, so that electric interconnection between them is established by means of said plate, which may optionally also be interrupted by pressing the plate 171 in the opposite direction against the force of said spring 172.
- said connector 14 is therefore furnished with a contact surface 141, and said contact member 16 is similarly furnished with a contact surface 161, so that the plate 171 in its position adapted for establishing each corresponding electric interconnection between the connector 14 on the casing 1 and the contact member 16 adapted to co-operate with the melting member 4, is simultaneously rest in the area of both previously mentioned contact surfaces 141, 161.
- a bearing member 2 of the melting member 4 is mounted within the casing 1.
- the melting member 4 is axially inserted into a guiding chamber 21 , which is an integral part of said bearing member 2.
- the bearing member 2 is furnished with a protective cover 3 and is pivotally embedded within the casing 1 in order to be pivoted around its pivot axis 20, which is however possible only under provision, when prior to that the protective cover 3 has been pivoted from its closed position according to Figs 1 - 6 into its opened position according to Figs 7 and 8 around its pivot axis 30, which is located on the bearing member 2.
- Said protective cover 3 is furnished with two guiding seats 31, which are arranged on both lateral surfaces thereof, and in this particular embodiment each of them is formed as a V-shaped recess arranged eccentrically with respect to said pivot axis 30, around which the cover 3 is pivoted relatively to the bearing member 2.
- a correspondingly rigid crank 33 is furnished with coaxially arranged and oppositely each apart another protruding guiding pins 32, which are each per se inserted into each corresponding guiding seat 31, wherein said crank 33 is thanks to said guiding pins simultaneously inserted into appropriate guiding grooves 104, which are available on the internal surfaces of lateral walls 101, 102 of the casing 1, and supported by the elastically supported plate 171 of the interrupter 17.
- crank 33 When the length of said crank 33 is determined in an appropriate manner and the cover 3 is shifted into its closed position (Fig. 1 - 6), said crank 33 is supported by the plate 171, which is by means of the spring 172 pressed towards the contact surfaces 141, 161 of the input connector 14 and the contact member 16, so that electric interconnection between the connector 14 and the contact member 16 is established.
- opening of the protective cover 3 occurs, namely when the cover 3 is pivoted around its pivot axis 30 from its position according to Fig.
- said guiding pins 32 of the crank 33 are moved from the initial and stable position thereof according to Figs 1 - 6 into another stable position in the end area 104' of the guiding grooves 104 (Figs 7 and 8), where these then remain engaged due to compression of the spring 172, until by each subsequent pivoting of the cover 3 into its closed position they are returned back to their initial position by means of the guiding seats 31.
- the contact plate 171 is permanently exposed to compression of the crank 33 and is therefore all the time held apart from corresponding contact surfaces 141, 161.
- the cover 3 comprises two guiding pins 34, which protrude apart from each other, and each of them is furnished with two diametrically opposite arranged cut-offs 341, 342, which extend at least approximately parallel with respect to each other, wherein each of said pins 34 is inserted within a corresponding guiding groove 103 located on the inner surface of each corresponding lateral wall 101, 1092 of the casing 1.
- said cover 3 comprises two further guiding pins 35, which also protrude apart from each other and are adapted to co-operate each per se with corresponding guides 18, which are available on lateral walls 101, 102 of the casing 1.
- Each guide 18 is shaped as shown in Figs 6, 7 and 8 and herewith enables guiding of each corresponding pin 35 and also determines a possibility of moving the bearing member 2 relatively to the casing 1 and simultaneously also the possibility of moving the cover 3 relatively with respect to the bearing member 2 or also together with the bearing member 2 relatively with respect to the casing 1 from its position according to Fig. 6 via its position according to Fig. 7 into position according to Fig. 8 or vice versa.
- said pins 35 are located in one lateral area 18' of said guide, while during pivoting the bearing member 2 they are mobbed along the other lateral area 18" of said guide 18 from the position according to Fig. 7 into their end position according to Fig. 8.
- the electric circuit is automatically interrupted as soon as the cover 1 is shifted into its opened position, when said crank 33 is moved from its first stable position according to Figs 6 into another stable position in the end area 104' of the guiding groove 104, and remains interrupted until that moment, when the cover 3 is shifted back to its closed position, by which the guiding seats 31 allow the crank 33 to be returned into its initial position, in which the contact plate 171 of the interrupter 17 is by means of spring 172 returned into a position of resting on the contact surfaces 141, 161 in order to re-establish the electric circuit throughout the electric conductive elements 13, 14, 15, 16, 171 and the melting member 4, 41, 42.
- the present invention moreover provides at least one sealing bore 290, 390, which is available on the bearing member and/or the cover 3, so that appropriate sealing of the switch either in active or inactive state thereof is enabled, and moreover also sealing of the melting member 4 as such in the closed state of the switch.
- the invention provides also for at least one passage 29, 39 on the bearing member 2 and on the cover 3, through which appropriate (not shown) rods can be inserted, which are intended for establishing physical interconnection among several bearing members 2 and covers 3 in appropriate set of said switches, which may then form a multi-polar switching device.
