Definitions
- the present invention relates to a corner joint for window frames.
- it relates to a combination of a slot-pin connection with a separate corner piece, by means of which the friezes of the wing or the frame timbers of the frame are connected to each other.
- Window frames usually include wings and frame, the friezes or frame wood cut in the case of light metal or plastic frame mitred and then connected directly to each other or in the case of Holzfenstem mostly on the well-known slot-pin connection.
- a window causes enormous energy losses, especially over the frame.
- Passive house windows in particular, have the function of substantially reducing these energy losses, and there are now a large number of these energy-efficient products in various material designs on the market.
- their window frames are usually much wider (and also much more expensive) than the conventional constructions - wide window frames, however, not only contradict the architectural claim of narrow shapely constructions, but also reduce the achievable on the glass surfaces solar gains.
- the energy gain which plays a prominent role in the passive house area, so rather narrow window frames should be realized, which nevertheless at the same time insulate particularly well.
- Narrow and deep wing or frame profiles can not be achieved with the traditional forms of the corner joint, in particular with the slot-tenon joint usual in the case of a wooden window. This applies in particular in the outer area of the sash profile, where the profile is narrowest because of the glass rebate.
- the slot-pin connection causes high investment and manufacturing costs, because the items of the wing or frame with slot-pin connection are connected after a few operations to large bulky frame, the high costs in the following operations and large bulkiness particularly high costs Handling and also require large-scale machines for processing.
- the wings or frame are brought as individual parts in the highest possible finishing state and connected as late as possible. The biggest problem with single-part production is the accuracy of fit when assembling these parts.
- the new arrangement offers special advantages
- a kit for a wooden sash frame comprising four substantially square corner pieces, which have the outer profile of the friezes and the friezes are connected to each other.
- the connection is made by screws to maintain the kit character.
- the corner pieces are made of plastic or metal, and between the outer portions of the abutting boundary surfaces of corner piece and frame wood are arranged elastic seals.
- this type of connection of wood and metal parts is not suitable for use in low-energy and passive houses.
- a corner piece is proposed for window frames, wherein the corner pieces are connected to the corresponding friezes or frame timbers of the window frame via a connection consisting of swallows and grooves, wherein the inner end of the swallows has a smaller cross-section than a portion between the inner end and the free end the swallow and wherein the opening of the groove has a smaller cross-section than a portion between the opening and the inner end of the groove.
- the window frame is easy to install (item production) and ensures in particular the production of narrow and deep frame profiles.
- corner piece extends over the entire height of the wing or frame, on the other hand has the disadvantages that the corner piece during assembly is difficult to position accurately in the vertical direction and is also visible from the inside (ie it represents in the flush on the surface Inside a foreign body, as he in turn lacks a conventional slot-pin connection).
- a window frame is provided with a wing and a frame, wherein the wing and / or the frame has corner pieces and wooden friezes or frame timber, characterized in that the corner pieces do not extend over the entire vertical thickness of the friezes or frame timbers, but on the inside of the friezes or frame timbers facing the interior of the room, a slot-pin joint is provided which covers the corner piece towards this inner side.
- a particularly narrow and deep wing or frame can be made, which ensures high strength, has no visible from the inside foreign body and allows easy and accurate positioning, in particular of the corner piece.
- Fig. 1 shows the inventive corner joint of the friezes or frame timber 1 and 2, which is a combination of a traditional slot-pin connection 3, 4 and a completely new generated separate corner piece 5. Since the corner piece 1 does not extend over the entire vertical thickness of the wing or frame, but on the inner side facing the interior of a slot-pin connection is provided, the visible from the inside part of the inventive corner joint from the conventional slot-pin connection familiar interior appearance of a wooden window with preferably continuous vertical friezes or frame timbers 1 and 2 without the foreign body, which would form the corner piece 5, if it would extend over the entire vertical thickness of the wing or frame. Due to the large horizontal glue surface between the two friezes and frame timbers 1 and 2, the construction also has the well-known high strength of the traditional slot-pin connection.
- the assembly of the inventive corner joint in the course of item production is carried out in such a way that the separate corner piece 5 is introduced at the end of the production chain immediately prior to installation of the fittings and the glazing and the two friezes or frame timber 1 and 2 together. Due to the slot-pin connection 3, 4, the corner piece can be positioned much easier correctly, as if it would extend vertically over the entire thickness of the sash or frame.
- the corner piece 5 is made of plastic, which not only greatly simplifies its manufacturing process and makes it less expensive, but also allows further embodiments, which are described below.
- FIG. 3 A further advantageous embodiment is Fig. 3 refer to. It consists of providing the corner piece 5 specifically with channels on the connecting surfaces 7 to the preferably made of wood friezes or frame timbers 1 and 2, which can be filled with adhesive. This makes it possible to introduce the adhesive easily and precisely. Furthermore, a complete wetting of all adhesive surfaces with adhesive is ensured by such an adhesive distribution and eliminates the otherwise necessary removal of excess adhesive residues completely.
- a further advantageous embodiment is an additional from the outside inwards (in Fig. 3 from top to bottom) running bore 8 in the journal-shaped ends of the corner piece in order to obtain additional strength by introducing connecting pins or screws.
- corner joint can be used not only for wings and / or window frames, but also for doors.

Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a corner joint for window frames. In particular, it relates to a combination of a slot-pin connection with a separate corner piece, by means of which the friezes of the wing or the frame timbers of the frame are connected to each other.
Window frames usually include wings and frame, the friezes or frame wood cut in the case of light metal or plastic frame mitred and then connected directly to each other or in the case of Holzfenstem mostly on the well-known slot-pin connection.
A window causes enormous energy losses, especially over the frame. Passive house windows, in particular, have the function of substantially reducing these energy losses, and there are now a large number of these energy-efficient products in various material designs on the market. In general, however, their window frames are usually much wider (and also much more expensive) than the conventional constructions - wide window frames, however, not only contradict the architectural claim of narrow shapely constructions, but also reduce the achievable on the glass surfaces solar gains. Especially under the aspect of the energy gain, which plays a prominent role in the passive house area, so rather narrow window frames should be realized, which nevertheless at the same time insulate particularly well.
Das grösste Problem bei der Einzelteilefertigung stellt die Passgenauigkeit beim Zusammenfügen dieser Teile dar, hier bietet die neue Anordnung besondere VorteileNarrow and deep wing or frame profiles, however, can not be achieved with the traditional forms of the corner joint, in particular with the slot-tenon joint usual in the case of a wooden window. This applies in particular in the outer area of the sash profile, where the profile is narrowest because of the glass rebate. In addition, the slot-pin connection causes high investment and manufacturing costs, because the items of the wing or frame with slot-pin connection are connected after a few operations to large bulky frame, the high costs in the following operations and large bulkiness particularly high costs Handling and also require large-scale machines for processing. For some time now, attempts have been made to circumvent these problems with so-called single part production and to reduce production costs. The wings or frame are brought as individual parts in the highest possible finishing state and connected as late as possible. The biggest problem with single-part production is the accuracy of fit when assembling these parts. Here, the new arrangement offers special advantages
