Definitions
- the invention relates to a plate-shaped or strip-shaped component, in particular for use as a furniture component or wall, ceiling or floor panel, with a carrier material made of wood material, a printed on the substrate decor, one on the decor following transparent, glossy lacquer layer and a subsequent , a three-dimensional structure comprising topcoat.
- Wood-based panels with decorative coating are often used as floor panels and for the cladding of walls and ceilings or as furniture components. Such panels usually have a rectangular shape and are usually provided at least at their longitudinal edges with profiles that allow a coupling of adjacent panels to create a large-scale surface can. Wood fiber boards, preferably so-called dry-process MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) or HDF (High Density Fiberboard) boards, are widely used for this purpose.
- dry-process MDF Medium Density Fiberboard
- HDF High Density Fiberboard
- laminate-coated wood fiber boards also directly printed panels are used for panels of the type mentioned.
- panels are, for example, from the EP 1 645 339 A1 known.
- the fiberboards are provided with liquid coating compositions, wherein a decor, for example a wood decor is printed on a colored base layer and finally one or more transparent sealing layers are applied.
- the EP 1 645 339 A1 describes the production of a structured surface by applying a first coating and a second transparent coating with spatially varying application amount.
- a floor covering surface covering which has a support material, a decor, in particular wood decor, a matt gloss primer (primer) and a high-gloss topcoat.
- the primer covers only a part of the carrier material and is applied to the carrier material in a direct printing process.
- the high-gloss cover layer covers the primer and, moreover, substantially the entire upper side of the support material, wherein in the finished state of the surface covering of the matt glossy primer covering part of the cover layer has a lower gloss level than the non-matting primer non-covering part of the cover layer.
- Gloss is an optical property of light-reflecting surfaces. Physically, gloss is defined as the quotient of the directed and the diffusely reflected portion of the amount of light falling on a surface. It can be quantitatively determined with gloss meters; Details are given in the standards DIN 67530 and DIN EN ISO 2813. For directly coated panels, the determination of the degree of gloss is specified in EN 14323 (current edition 2004-06-01). Then the degree of gloss is to be determined with a so-called reflectometer according to DIN EN ISO 2813. The principle of the reflectometer is based on the measurement of the directed reflection. For this purpose, the intensity of the reflected light is measured in a narrow band of the reflection angle.
- the measurement results are not based on the amount of light emitted, but on a black, polished glass standard with a defined refractive index (1.567).
- the measurement value 100 gloss units (GE or gloss grade points) is set.
- gloss levels of more than 100 GE may arise for certain material surfaces, for example in polished metals.
- high-gloss surfaces ⁇ 70 GE should also be subjected to measurements with a 20 ° measuring geometry.
- the present invention has for its object to provide a device or panel of the type mentioned with unusual, used or antique appearance, natural-looking feel and low production costs available.
- the component according to the invention is based on a carrier material of wood-based material, preferably a fibreboard, and comprises a decoration printed on the carrier material, a transparent, glossy lacquer layer following the decoration, and a topcoat layer having a three-dimensional structure following thereon.
- the topcoat layer causes a surface structure with a very varying degree of gloss, wherein the surface of the device in at least one direction parallel to it has a gloss difference of at least 25 gloss units based on a linear surface distance of 20 mm.
- the component according to the invention is thus distinguished by high gloss level differences, with the uppermost surface areas of the surface being relatively matt-glossy, while the surface areas lying deeper due to the three-dimensional structure are glossy or high-gloss.
- the matte appearance of the paint surface of the device according to the invention thus corresponds to the appearance of an old, traces of use or antique paint surface.
- the device according to the invention thereby has an unusual, interesting appearance. by virtue of its matte or used appearance, the device according to the invention at the same time has a relatively natural effect compared to about a panel with a total of high-gloss coating. In addition, the natural effect is optimized by the three-dimensional structure of the topcoat layer, especially in haptic terms.
- the particular optical and haptic effect of the device according to the invention can be achieved by a few manufacturing steps, resulting in a total of relatively low production costs. It is noteworthy in this context, in particular, that the three-dimensional structure is produced directly during the application of the topcoat layer by means of an engraved printing roll, preferably in the indirect gravure printing process. A subsequent mechanical embossing of the topcoat layer or a so-called "chemical embossing" by successive printing of two liquid, mutually repellent coating materials is not provided in the manufacture of the device or panel according to the invention.
- the transparent, glossy lacquer layer and the subsequently structured, relatively matt topcoat layer of the component according to the invention are preferably printed by means of continuous printing cylinders by gravure printing, the topcoat and the three-dimensional structure being applied or produced in one working step.
- a preferred embodiment of the device according to the invention is characterized in that the topcoat layer in comparison to the transparent, glossy lacquer layer at at least 45 gloss units, preferably at least 50 gloss units lower degree of gloss a measuring geometry of 60 ° according to DIN EN ISO 2813 has.
- the component according to the invention has particularly high differences in gloss level, so that the effect of an antique or used-looking surface is even greater.
- the surface of the device according to the invention in at least one direction parallel to it has a gloss difference of at least 30 gloss units, preferably at least 35 gloss units based on a linear surface distance of 20 mm.
- This embodiment also enhances the effect of an antique or used-looking surface.
- a transparent lacquer layer containing wear-resistant particles is arranged between the decor and the transparent, glossy lacquer layer.
- the decor is protected from abrasion.
- the impression of a natural or used component is particularly high if the surface structure of the device according to the invention according to another preferred embodiment has a mean surface roughness in the range of 10 .mu.m to 400 .mu.m, preferably in the range of 50 .mu.m to 400 .mu.m.
- a further preferred embodiment of the device according to the invention is that its surface structure is formed corresponding to his decor.
- the three-dimensional structure corresponds to the illustrated grain of the wood decor; or that, for example, in the case of an imprinted tile covering decoration, the three-dimensional structure corresponds to the illustrated joint grid of the imitated tile covering.
- the decoration of the component according to the invention may also be a natural stone decor, for example a slate or granite decoration, the three-dimensional structure of the topcoat layer then imitating a flamed and / or brushed stone surface.
- Fig. 1 schematically a device for direct printing of wood-based panels 1 is shown.
- a plurality of plates 1 are arranged on a conveyor belt 2, which are individually fed sequentially to different processing stations 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7.
- the conveying direction is in Fig. 1 indicated by an arrow and runs from left to right.
- Fig. 1 instead of several separate plates 1 can also be a larger wood-based panel or an endlessly produced wood-based panel in the device according to Fig. 1 which is divided into individual plates according to the processing described below.
- a multi-colored decor such as a wood or natural stone decor is printed on the respective wood-based panel 1 in the gravure printing process.
- the processing stations 3 and 4 have for this purpose application rollers (pressure rollers) 3.1, 4.1, which comprise at least one gravure roller.
- Fig. 1 is further shown that the surface of the plates 1 is provided after the imprint of the decor by means of another processing station 5 with a transparent sealing layer.
- a substantially full-surface surface layer (sealing layer) of paint is applied.
- the processing station 5 has an application roller 5.1, which applies a uniform, substantially smooth layer of lacquer to the surface of the plates 1.
- the transparent lacquer contains wear or abrasion resistance-increasing particles, for example corundum and / or quartz particles.
- the applied coating is at least partially dried or cured.
- the processing device 5.2 for example, by means of a hot air flow or electromagnetic radiation, in particular UV radiation cause the drying and curing.
- the processing station 5 is followed by a processing station 6, which applies a transparent, glossy lacquer layer to the previously applied sealing or corundum lacquer layer by means of an applicator roller 6.1.
- the transparent, glossy lacquer layer is preferably a high-gloss primer which has a gloss level in the range from 70 to 85, for example about 80 gloss units.
- a further processing station 7 by means of an engraved printing cylinder (platen roller) 7.1 on the glossy or high-gloss lacquer layer (primer) in the indirect gravure printing a matt topcoat is applied.
- the printing cylinder 7.1 is very flat, that is, that the previously applied glossy or high-gloss lacquer layer (primer) is coated over the entire surface or substantially the entire surface with the matte topcoat.
- the topcoat layer causes in Hardened state in combination with the glossy or high-gloss lacquer layer a three-dimensional surface structure with a greatly changing degree of gloss.
- the application amount of the topcoat varies over the area by a factor of 15 to 20.
- the application of the topcoat by means of the printing cylinder 7.1 is carried out in such a way that the printing cylinder 7.1 is wetted in its engraved wells as well as in the opposite areas of the recesses of its lateral surface with the flowable topcoat.

Description
The invention relates to a plate-shaped or strip-shaped component, in particular for use as a furniture component or wall, ceiling or floor panel, with a carrier material made of wood material, a printed on the substrate decor, one on the decor following transparent, glossy lacquer layer and a subsequent , a three-dimensional structure comprising topcoat.
Wood-based panels with decorative coating are often used as floor panels and for the cladding of walls and ceilings or as furniture components.
To provide the wood-based panels with the desired decor, impregnated in a known manner with a resin and predried decorative papers are pressed under high heat and pressure directly on the plate surfaces. Since these impregnates have the tendency to shrink during compression, they create a tension, which is why the so produced panels - which are also referred to as laminates - must always be provided on both sides with an impregnated paper to prevent a voltage-induced bending of the plates.

Gloss is an optical property of light-reflecting surfaces. For this purpose, the intensity of the reflected light is measured in a narrow band of the reflection angle. The measurement results are not based on the amount of light emitted, but on a black, polished glass standard with a defined refractive index (1.567). For this standard, the measurement value = 100 gloss units (GE or gloss grade points) is set. There are material surfaces that have a higher refractive index than the black glass standard used for calibration. Therefore, gloss levels of more than 100 GE may arise for certain material surfaces, for example in polished metals. For a better differentiation of the measured values one measures depending on the gloss with different measuring angles. According to the standard DIN EN ISO 2813, in addition to the usual measurements with a 60 ° measuring geometry, high-gloss surfaces (≥ 70 GE) should also be subjected to measurements with a 20 ° measuring geometry.
The present invention has for its object to provide a device or panel of the type mentioned with unusual, used or antique appearance, natural-looking feel and low production costs available.
This object is achieved by a component having the features of claim 1.
The component according to the invention is based on a carrier material of wood-based material, preferably a fibreboard, and comprises a decoration printed on the carrier material, a transparent, glossy lacquer layer following the decoration, and a topcoat layer having a three-dimensional structure following thereon. The topcoat layer causes a surface structure with a very varying degree of gloss, wherein the surface of the device in at least one direction parallel to it has a gloss difference of at least 25 gloss units based on a linear surface distance of 20 mm.
The component according to the invention is thus distinguished by high gloss level differences, with the uppermost surface areas of the surface being relatively matt-glossy, while the surface areas lying deeper due to the three-dimensional structure are glossy or high-gloss. The matte appearance of the paint surface of the device according to the invention thus corresponds to the appearance of an old, traces of use or antique paint surface. The device according to the invention thereby has an unusual, interesting appearance. by virtue of its matte or used appearance, the device according to the invention at the same time has a relatively natural effect compared to about a panel with a total of high-gloss coating. In addition, the natural effect is optimized by the three-dimensional structure of the topcoat layer, especially in haptic terms. The particular optical and haptic effect of the device according to the invention can be achieved by a few manufacturing steps, resulting in a total of relatively low production costs. By contrast, the transparent, glossy lacquer layer and the subsequently structured, relatively matt topcoat layer of the component according to the invention are preferably printed by means of continuous printing cylinders by gravure printing, the topcoat and the three-dimensional structure being applied or produced in one working step.
A preferred embodiment of the device according to the invention is characterized in that the topcoat layer in comparison to the transparent, glossy lacquer layer at at least 45 gloss units, preferably at least 50 gloss units lower degree of gloss a measuring geometry of 60 ° according to DIN EN ISO 2813 has. In this embodiment, the component according to the invention has particularly high differences in gloss level, so that the effect of an antique or used-looking surface is even greater.
According to a further preferred embodiment, it is provided that the surface of the device according to the invention in at least one direction parallel to it has a gloss difference of at least 30 gloss units, preferably at least 35 gloss units based on a linear surface distance of 20 mm. This embodiment also enhances the effect of an antique or used-looking surface.
In particular, when the device according to the invention is to be used as a floor panel, it is advantageous if, according to a further embodiment, a transparent lacquer layer containing wear-resistant particles is arranged between the decor and the transparent, glossy lacquer layer. As a result, the decor is protected from abrasion.
The impression of a natural or used component is particularly high if the surface structure of the device according to the invention according to another preferred embodiment has a mean surface roughness in the range of 10 .mu.m to 400 .mu.m, preferably in the range of 50 .mu.m to 400 .mu.m.
A further preferred embodiment of the device according to the invention is that its surface structure is formed corresponding to his decor. For example, it is provided that in a simulated wood decor, the three-dimensional structure corresponds to the illustrated grain of the wood decor; or that, for example, in the case of an imprinted tile covering decoration, the three-dimensional structure corresponds to the illustrated joint grid of the imitated tile covering. Likewise, the decoration of the component according to the invention may also be a natural stone decor, for example a slate or granite decoration, the three-dimensional structure of the topcoat layer then imitating a flamed and / or brushed stone surface.
Further preferred and advantageous embodiments of the device according to the invention are specified in the subclaims.

By means of the

The
The application of the topcoat by means of the printing cylinder 7.1 is carried out in such a way that the printing cylinder 7.1 is wetted in its engraved wells as well as in the opposite areas of the recesses of its lateral surface with the flowable topcoat. The topcoat is selected so that the topcoat layer in the finished state of the device according to the invention partially by at least 40, preferably at least 45, more preferably at least 50 gloss units lower gloss level at a measurement geometry of 60 ° according to DIN EN ISO 2813 than those previously applied transparent, shiny lacquer layer. The topcoat may be transparent or partially opaque in the cured state, in which latter case the opaque areas form the raised areas of the three-dimensional surface structure.
In the downstream processing device 7.2, the last applied coating, the structured topcoat is then at least partially cured, so that the three-dimensional structure is sufficiently solidified and fixed, and does not level due to deliquescence. In this curing step, it may also be a possibly incomplete curing of the arranged underneath, with one of the
Of course, further processing stations can be added to the described

The
Viewed over the surface or the width of the component, in at least one direction parallel to the surface of the component 1.1, a gloss level difference of at least 25 gloss units, e.g. of about 30 or even 35 gloss units based on a linear surface distance of 20 mm. Viewed over a larger linear surface distance can be found in a device 1.1 according to the invention, a gloss level change between 50 and 60 gloss units.
The three-dimensional structure defined by the topcoat layer comprises depressions (pores) 14.1 and, on the other hand, raised surface regions 14.2. The uppermost or raised surface areas 14.2 have a gloss level lower by at least 35 gloss units, preferably at least 40 gloss units, with a measurement geometry of 60 ° according to DIN EN ISO 2813 than the depressions 14.1.
Die den höchsten Glanzgrad aufweisenden Bereiche der Oberfläche des Bauelements 1.1, 1.2; 1.1' korrespondieren mit den Vertiefungen 14.1, d.h. sie liegen in den von der Decklackschicht definierten Vertiefungen 14.1.The areas of the surface of the component 1.1, 1.2 which have the highest gloss level; 1.1 'correspond to the depressions 14.1, i. they lie in the recesses 14.1 defined by the topcoat layer.
