Description

The invention relates to a swimming fin; it can also be used as a bodybuilding tool in water.

Current fins include a slipper and a sail. The liner may be closed or open at the rear, the foot being, in this case, held in said boot open by means of a strap bearing on the heel. The wing extends forward of the boot to which it is subject.

During swimming, that is to say during a climbing movement and a descent movement of the palm corresponding to a flapping of the feet, the wing flexes respectively downwards and upwards. During the descent phase, the knee extends and the hip flexes, while inversely, during the ascent phase, the knee flexes and the hip extends; the swimmer has more power during the descent phase than the climb phase. A major disadvantage of the current fins is not to exploit this variation of power during the flapping of the feet since the wing flexes identically in one direction or the other during the flapping of the feet, that is to say that the wing flexes symmetrically.

It is known the document FR 1,361,410 which divulges a palm whose object is to be able to vary the flexibility of the wing. For this, longitudinal ducts are arranged on the underside of the wing, which allow the introduction of stiffening bars. Such a design certainly allows to replace the bars by other more or less flexible bars to vary the flexibility of the wing. This design, however, ensures a symmetrical deflection of the wing during the flapping of the feet during swimming.

It is also known the document DE-43.38610 which discloses a fin comprising a boot, a wing and two flexible elements attached to the boot and extending towards the front of the fin, respectively above and below the wing. This allows, depending on the flexibility of each the two flexible elements, to obtain an asymmetrical deflection of the wing during a downward movement and rise of the palm during swimming. The object of the present invention aims to overcome this disadvantage existing on the current fins. Another purpose of the palm object of the present invention is to work differently the muscle groups of the swimmer, thus allowing to use the palm as a specific bodybuilding tool. These objectives are also achieved with palm according to the document DE-43.38610 . The present invention however aims to simplify the design of such a palm.

The state of the art also includes the document US 6,159,064 proposing a palm that, in use mode, presents: a) a push down of the leg and foot of its difficult user, and b) a push up of the leg and the foot of its easy user. The present invention however aims to simplify the design, strength and performance of such a palm.

For this purpose, the invention relates to a fin comprising a boot which can be opened or closed at the rear, as it already exists on the current fins, said boot being extended forward by a flexible wing, it is that is to say that this wing is fixed to the front of the liner, the fixing of the wing with the boot can be achieved by any known means such as for example by overmolding the flexible wing in the front of the boot. According to the invention, the fin comprises at least one flexible element comprising at least two branches extending in the lengthwise direction under the flexible wing and a base, securing means being arranged between the base of this flexible element and the proximal portion of the flexible wing, that is to say that located near the front end of the liner.

It is understood that according to the invention, only the proximal portion of the flexible element disposed under the flexible wing is fixed with the proximal portion of said flexible wing while the complementary portion of this flexible member, extending under the wing in the direction of its length, remains free vis-à-vis said flexible wing. Thus, the flexible element acts as a stiffener, the latter being in action during a downward movement of the palm while it is not stressed during a climbing movement. Indeed, because of the position of the flexible element under the flexible wing, when the swimmer performs a downward movement, the wing is supported on the flexible element, which increases the stiffness of the wing.

On the contrary, during the uphill movement, the flexible wing flexes independently of the flexible member, its stiffness is not increased. Thus, the flexible wing flexes asymmetrically, the palm opposing a greater effort during a downward movement than during a climbing movement, which optimizes the exploitation of the power of the legs during the beat feet or using the palm as a weight training tool to make the muscular groups of the legs work differently.

En outre, la conception de la palme objet de l'invention est simplifiée en comparaison de celle décrite dans le document D- 43.38610 .In addition, the design of the palm object of the invention is simplified in comparison with that described in document D- 43.38610 .

According to the invention, the securing means consist of a removable fastening system, which has the advantage of being able to replace the flexible elements, for example in case of deterioration thereof or to modify the stiffness of said flexible elements and thus, to vary the asymmetrical sag, for example depending on the user. Of course, these securing means may consist of a traditional fastening system, that is to say non-removable, without departing from the scope of the present invention, such a fastening system can in this case and for example be implemented by overmolding the proximal portion of the wing on the proximal portion of the flexible elements.

Preferably, the proximal part of the flexible wing comprises at least one orifice and the proximal portion of the flexible element comprises at least one fixing head passing through said orifice on the flexible wing. In addition, at least one removable attachment piece cooperates with said at least one fixing head so as to sandwich the flexible wing between the flexible element and the at least one attachment piece. Of course, other removable fastening systems are possible without departing from the scope of the present invention.

According to a preferred and non-limiting mode, the at least one attachment head comprises a longitudinal slot and at its end, a flange extending outwardly from the periphery of said fixing head. In addition, the attachment piece has at least one orifice through which is able to pass the flange when the longitudinal slot of the fixing head is compressed. Furthermore, the at least one fixing head has a length corresponding to the total thickness of the flexible wing, in its proximal portion where the securing means and the attachment piece are arranged.

Preferably, and not limiting, the two branches extend respectively close to the lateral edges of the flexible wing. Of course, there could be a flexible element comprising a larger number of branches, for example, three branches, two of the branches being disposed near the lateral edges of the flexible wing and the third disposed in the central portion of said flexible wing. In addition, it is also conceivable that these branches are all interconnected by means of a single base or that each of said branches have an individual base constituting the proximal portion of the flexible element, subject to the proximal portion of the flexible wing.

Preferably, the longitudinal branches are interconnected by a single base comprising three fastening heads uniformly distributed vis-à-vis the proximal portion of the wing. In addition, the attachment piece and the flexible wing each comprise three orifices distributed uniformly, identically to the three fastening heads on the base.

Preferably and without limitation, the securing means are disposed in the first quarter of the flexible wing.

In a preferential and nonlimiting manner, the flexible element and in particular the flexible branches extend over a length corresponding to three quarters of the length of the flexible wing.

Preferably, the flexible element disposed on the flexible wing has a rigidity greater than that of said flexible wing.

According to a mode of design of the palm object of the present invention, in addition to the aforementioned characteristics, it comprises a removable fastening device which is arranged between the boot and the flexible wing. This has the advantage of making the liner removable from the flexible sails especially in order to adapt the boot according to the foot of the user.

According to this embodiment, the boot comprises a rigid plate and a flexible footwear element which is disposed above the rigid plate. This rigid plate and this soft footwear element are secured to each other. The flexible wing comprises a flexible wing portion extended rearwardly by a rigid support portion. In addition, latching means are arranged between the support portion and the rigid plate.

According to this mode of design of the palm, the rigid plate and the flexible footwear are independent of each other, assembly means being arranged between the rigid plate and the flexible footwear element. This has the advantage of retaining the rigid plate and to adapt only the soft footwear according to the foot of the user. However, it could be envisaged that the rigid plate and the flexible footwear are made of one and the same indissociable element, the rigid plate being for example overmolded on the footwear element.

According to this design mode of the palm, the rigid bearing portion of the flexible wing comprises a proximal central edge, disposed transversely on the flexible wing, and two bearing branches extending longitudinally rearwardly relative to the sides lateral of the proximal central edge. In addition, the latching means are arranged between the proximal central edge of the bearing portion and the front edge of the rigid plate and between the distal ends of the two bearing branches of said rigid bearing portion and the two rear side ends of the rigid plate.

  • la figure 1 illustre en vue de plan la palme objet de l'invention, le coté gauche par rapport à l'axe de symétrie illustrant le dessus de la palme tandis que le coté droit illustre le dessous de cette palme ;
  • la figure 2 illustre une vue de coté en coupe selon l'axe de symétrie de la palme ;
  • la figure 3 illustre un battement de pieds avec les palmes objet de la présente invention montrant l'action de l'élément flexible disposé sous la voilure, agissant en tant que raidisseur ;
The features and advantages of the present invention will appear on reading the following description of a preferred embodiment of design, which relies on figures among which:
  • the figure 1 illustrates in plan view the palm object of the invention, the left side relative to the axis of symmetry illustrating the top of the palm while the right side illustrates the bottom of this palm;
  • the figure 2 illustrates a side view in section along the axis of symmetry of the palm;
  • the figure 3 illustrates a flapping of the feet with the fins object of the present invention showing the action of the flexible element disposed under the wing, acting as a stiffener;
  • the Figures 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d illustrate a variant of the design of the palm that the boot is removable from the flexible wing. On these Figures 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d The essential features of the present invention, namely the flexible element and the securing means of this flexible element, are not shown. However, it will be possible to implement the flexible element and the securing means of this flexible element with the flexible wing as shown in the drawings. Figures 1 to 3 and described below.

It can be seen that palm 1 comprises in a traditional manner, a slipper 2 and a sail 3. On the Figures 1 to 3 , the shoe 2 is closed, that is to say, it completely surrounds the foot. However, it is possible to envisage the implementation of the present invention on an open liner at its rear end, which comprises, in this case, a strap bearing on the heel of the foot.

The flexible wing 3 is secured to the front of the liner, as is illustrated in particular on the Figures 1 and 2 . For example, the proximal end of the blade is overmolded on the shoe. This flexible wing 3 is capable of flexing during the movements of descent and rise of the palm during the foot beats, as illustrated in FIG. figure 3 .

We see on these Figures 1 to 3 that the palm 1 comprises a flexible element 4 which is arranged below the wing 3. This flexible element 4 preferably comprises two flexible branches 14, 15 which extend longitudinally up to three quarters of the length of the wing. , close to the lateral edges 17, 18 of said wing 3, as illustrated in FIG. figure 1 . In addition, these flexible branches 14,15 are interconnected by a base 16 which preferably has a curved shape conforming to the contour 2 This base 16 constituting the proximal portion 6 of the flexible element 4, is secured to the proximal portion of the wing 3 by securing means 5, as shown in FIGS. Figures 1 and 2 . For this, a fastening system 5 is arranged between the base 16 and the proximal portion 7 of the wing.

The fixing head passes through an orifice 8 arranged on the proximal portion 7 of the blade 3. On the other hand, a fastening piece 10 also comprises an orifice 13 through which the fastening head is able to pass. 9. It can be seen that the fixing head comprises a longitudinal slot 11 illustrated in FIG. figure 2 and a flange 12 extending outwardly at the end of said fastener head 9. When the longitudinal slot 11 is compressed, the flange 12 has a smaller diameter than those of the orifices 8 and 13, respectively on the wing 3 and the attachment piece 10. Thus, the attachment head 9 passes through the orifice 8 on the wing and then through the orifice 13 of the attachment piece 10, keeping the longitudinal slot 11 compressed. Once this longitudinal slot 11 is released, the rim 12 resumes its normal diameter greater than the diameter of the orifices 8 and 13 respectively on the wing 3 and on the attachment piece 10, which makes it possible to hold the attachment piece 10 in position , wedged by the rim 12 and thus to sandwich the wing 3 between the base 16 and said attachment piece 10.

As illustrated on the figure 2 , the length of the fastening head 9 corresponds more or less to the total thickness of the wing 3 in its proximal portion 17 and the attachment piece 10, which ensures a proper fastening between the base 16, the wing 3 and the fastening piece 10 wedged by the flange 12. It can be seen on the figure 1 3 fixing heads 9 are arranged on the base 16, said fixing heads being uniformly distributed vis-à-vis the proximal portion 17 of the wing 3. This wing 3 has accordingly in its proximal portion of three holes 8 distributed identical to the position of the fastening heads 9. In addition, as illustrated on the figure 1 it is distinguished that the attachment piece 10 comprises shapes and dimensions corresponding more or less to those of the base 16 of the flexible element 4, this attachment piece 10 further comprising three orifices 13 uniformly distributed identically to the 8 of the canals 3 and the position of the three attachment heads 9 on the base 16. It would however be possible to provide three separate attachment pieces for each of the attachment heads 9 on the base 16. In addition, it is of course possible to provide a different number of fixing heads on the base 16. It would also be possible to provide individual branches 14,15, that is to say not connected by a single base 16, means of subjection being implemented directly at the proximal portion of said branches and at the proximal portion 7 of the wing 3.

De manière préférentielle, tel qu'illustré sur la figure 1, l'assujettissement entre la base 16 de l'élément flexible 4 et la partie proximale 7 de la voilure 3 est disposée dans le premier quart de ladite voilure 3, tandis que les branches 14 et 15 de l'élément flexible 4 s'étendent sur une longueur correspondant plus ou moins au trois quart de la voilure flexible 3, sur ses bords latéraux 17,18.Preferably, as illustrated on the figure 1 , the securing between the base 16 of the flexible element 4 and the proximal portion 7 of the wing 3 is disposed in the first quarter of said wing 3, while the branches 14 and 15 of the flexible element 4 extend over a length corresponding more or less to three quarters of the flexible wing 3, on its lateral edges 17,18.

Preferably, these flexible branches have a stiffness greater than that of the wing 3. This is however not limiting since it is possible, because of the removable nature of the attachment piece 10, to replace the flexible element 4 by another having a different stiffness, more or less important, possibly lower than the stiffness of the wing.

Thus, as can be seen from the figure 3 during a downward movement of the fin 1, the lower face, that is to say the underside of the blade 3, is supported on the branches 14,15 of the flexible element 4, while at an upward movement of the palm, because the branches 14, 15 are free from the underside of the wing 3, said wing 3 flexes differently and independently of the flexible branches 14, 15 of the flexible element 4 This ensures an asymmetrical deflection of the wing 3 during the footfalls.

The Figures 4a to 4d illustrate a variant of the design of the palm which incorporates all the aforementioned characteristics of the description as to the embodiment of the flexible element 4 illustrated in FIGS. Figures 1 to 3 .

According to this palm 100 illustrated in Figures 4a to 4d , the boot 200 is removable from the wing 300. It is noted that the shoe 200 comprises a plate 201 which is made of a rigid material, and a footwear element 202 which is made of a flexible material. We also see on these Figures 4a to 4d that the footwear element 202 is independent of the rigid plate 201. This footwear element 202 is fixed above the rigid plate 201 by means of tether straps 203, 204. It could however be envisaged that this rigid plate 201 and this footwear element 202 are made in one and the same piece, for example by overmolding the material of the rigid plate on the material of the flexible footwear element.

Une telle encoche est également prévue sur la seconde extrémité latérale arrière de la platine 201.We see on Figures 4a to 4d that the flexible wing 300 comprises a flexible wing portion 301 and a bearing portion 302, more rigid than the wing portion 301. This bearing portion 302 comprises a proximal central edge 303 disposed transversely on the wing 300 and two branches of 304,305 which extend longitudinally towards the rear of the flexible wing and are arranged on the lateral sides with respect to the proximal central edge 303. figure 4d that the ends 306, 307 of these support branches 304, 305 are interconnected by a transverse connecting element 308. Figures 4a, 4d that the proximal central edge 303 comprises an engagement tab 309. Similarly, the ends 306, 307 of the two support branches 304, 305 each comprise interlocking tabs 310, 31. These interlocking tabs 310,311 of the support legs 304,305 are configured to have a flexibility allowing a slight deformation thereof so as to allow the engagement of the shoe 200. For this purpose, the rigid plate 201 of the shoe 200 comprises at its front edge a notch 205, as illustrated on the figure 4d . We also see on the figure 4d that the first rear side end of the plate 201 comprises a notch 206. Such a notch is also provided on the second rear lateral end of the plate 201.

The positioning of the boot 200 on the flexible wing 300 is performed by positioning the notch 205 at the front edge of the rigid plate 201 in the locking tab 309 and then pressing the rear end of the plate 201, which allows a movement of the locking tabs 310, 311 at the ends 306, 307 of the two support branches 304, 305 in the direction of the arrows 401, 402 illustrated in FIG. figure 4d , until said engagement tabs 310,311 snap onto the notches 206 disposed at the rearward lateral ends of the rigid plate 201.

This deformation of the interlocking tabs 310, 3111 therefore makes it possible to engage said locking tabs in the notches 206 at the rear lateral ends of the plate 201. The boot is then engaged as illustrated in FIG. figure 4a . The removal of the boot 200 vis-à-vis the flexible wing 300 is performed according to the steps illustrated through the Figures 4a to 4d , that is to say by grasping the interlocking tabs 310, 311 at the ends 306, 307 of the support branches 304, 305 and moving them according to the arrows 401, 402 and then pulling backwards according to the arrow 403 the shoe 200 in so as to disengage the notch 205 at the front edge of the rigid plate 201 vis-à-vis the notch tab 309 on the proximal central edge 303 of the bearing portion 302.

The transverse element 308 advantageously makes it possible to ensure sufficient rigidity of the bearing portion 302 so as to prevent the support legs 304, 305 from diverging during the use of the fin, thereby ensuring proper engagement. slipper 200 on the flexible wing 300. This transverse element 308 also contributes to the transmission of effort during the practice of swimming.

Other features may be envisaged without departing from the scope of the present invention, in particular as regards the implementation of the securing means 5 between the flexible element 4 and the wing 3.
