Un chauffe-eau électrique à accumulation à double protection cathodique comporte une anode sacrificielle (5) et une anode (6) à courant imposé associées de manière à fournir une protection cathodique, même en l'absence d'alimentation électrique.
L'anode sacrificielle (5) entoure l'anode (6) à courant imposé, de manière à éviter tout contact de l'anode (6) à courant imposé avec l'eau de la cuve (d'eau) avant consommation de l'anode sacrificielle (6).
