Damping device for furniture doors, having a damping cylinder (7) which is accommodated in a longitudinally displaceable manner in a recess in a damper housing (5), has a cylinder housing (8) and a piston rod (9) and forms a stop for the furniture door (4) and is longitudinally adjustable by means of an adjusting screw (11) at the rear end, facing away from the stop, of the recess, characterized in that the cylinder housing (8) is accommodated in a longitudinally displaceable manner in the recess, which is configured as a bore (6), in the damper housing (5) and forms the stop (10) for the furniture door (4) by way of its end (8a) which projects out of the damper housing (5), in that the piston rod (9) is connected to the adjusting screw (11, 11'), and in that the inside diameter of an internal thread (13) holding the adjusting screw (11, 11') is at least equal to the inside diameter of the bore (6) accommodating the cylinder housing (8).
  2. Damping device according to Claim 1, characterized in that the end of the piston rod (9) is accommodated in a central bore (12) in the adjusting screw (11).
  3. Damping device according to Claim 2, characterized in that the end of the piston rod (9) is pressed in the central bore (12) in the adjusting screw (11).
  4. Damping device according to Claim 2, characterized in that the end of the piston rod (9) is accommodated in a longitudinally displaceable manner in the central bore (12), configured as a blind bore, in the adjusting screw (11).
  5. Damping device according to Claim 1, characterized in that the adjusting screw (11, 11') has a gripping portion (14) projecting out of the damper housing (5), said gripping portion (14) having knurling (15) or the like.
  6. Damping device according to Claim 1, characterized in that a compression spring (18) is connected between the piston rod (9) and the damper housing (5).
  7. Damping device according to Claim 6, characterized in that the compression spring (18) is arranged in an internal bore (19) in the adjusting screw (11') between a pressure-exerting body (20), which is fixed to the piston rod (9) and is longitudinally displaceable in the internal bore (19), and a spring stop (21) fixed in the adjusting screw (11').
  8. Damping device according to Claim 7, characterized in that the pressure-exerting body (20) is supported on a snap ring (26) which is accommodated in a circumferential groove (27) on the piston rod (9).
  9. Damping device according to Claim 7, characterized in that the compression spring (18) is accommodated with preload between the pressure-exerting body (20) and the spring stop (21).
  10. Damping device according to Claim 7, characterized in that the pressure-exerting body (20) rests in its starting position against a stop (22) of the adjusting screw (11').
  11. Damping device according to Claim 7, characterized in that the piston rod (9) projects, at that end of the adjusting screw (11') that is remote from the damping cylinder (8), out of an end bore (23) in the adjusting screw (11') and has a radially extending retaining projection (25).
  12. Damping device according to Claim 8, characterized in that the piston rod (9) ends in the pressure-exerting body (20), and in that the pressure-exerting body (20) has, on its side facing away from the damping cylinder (8), a central sliding pin (28) which projects out of an end bore (23) in the adjusting screw (11') and has a radially extending retaining projection (30).
  13. Damping device according to either of Claims 11 and 12, characterized in that the retaining projection is a snap ring (25) accommodated in a circumferential groove (24) in the piston rod (9).
  14. Damping device according to Claim 6, characterized in that the damper housing (5) consists of an outer housing part (31) and an inner housing part (32) which is longitudinally displaceable therein and accommodates the cylinder housing (8) in a longitudinally displaceable manner in its bore (6), and in that the compression spring (33) is arranged between the outer housing part (31) and the inner housing part (32).
  15. Damping device according to Claim 14, characterized in that the compression spring (33) concentrically surrounds the inner housing part (32).
