Wird nun bei geöffnetem Türblatt in diesen Spalt gegriffen (was besonders Kinder manchmal tun), so werden die Fingerwenn die Tür geschlossen wird - in dem immer schmäler werdenden Spalt gequetscht. Wenn - wie üblich - ein Türschließer vorgesehen ist, ergeben sich aufgrund der erforderlichen Schließkräfte für das Türblatt sehr hohe Klemmkräfte, die zu schweren Verletzungen führen können. Bedingt sind diese hohen Kräfte durch den Umstand, dass das Türblatt auch bei höheren angreifenden Windkräften in der Schließstellung gehalten werden soll. Da auf die Leiste wesentlich geringere Kräfte wirken als auf das Türblatt, ist es kein Problem, dass die Drehachse der Leiste relativ genau mit dem Rand des Türblatts bzw. mit dem Rand der Türöffnung übereinstimmt, weil die Scharniere relativ zart dimensioniert werden können; und wenn die Drehachse mit dem Rand genau übereinstimmt, bildet sich in keiner Stellung der Leiste eine Öffnung zwischen der Scharnierseite der Leiste und dem benachbarten Element (Türblatt bzw.
