Die Figuren 1 , 2 und 3 zeigen jeweils eine Skizze einer erfindungsgemäßen Vorrichtung 1 zur Bandkantenstabilisierung. Dabei ist ein Band 2, wie bei- spielsweise ein Metall- oder Stahlband dargestellt, welches vorzugsweise mittels Transportmitteln transportierbar ist. Das Band 2 weist zwei seitliche Bandkanten 3,4 auf. Zur Führung des Bandes sind in dem Bad des Beschichtungs- materials (Schmelze) Rollen vorgesehen, wie dies in den Figuren 4 und 5 veranschaulicht ist. Ein Führungsmittel 5 dient zur Führung und als Bewegungs- ebene für eine Verstellvorrichtung 7. Weiterhin ist zumindest ein Sensor 6 vorgesehen, welcher die aktuelle Bandlage des Bandes 2 mit seinen Bandkanten 3,4 erfasst. Auch können über die Breite des Bandes 2 mehrere Sensoren 6 vorgesehen sein, wie beispielsweise zwei Sensoren 6 auf gegenüberliegenden Seiten der Bandmitte oder der Mitte der Bandführung oder an beiden Rändern des Bandes. Mit 10 ist das Zink- oder ein anderes Beschichtungsmittelbad bezeichnet, durch welches das Band durchläuft um damit beschichtet zu werden. Darüber hinaus ist eine Verstellvorrichtung 7 mit einem Verstellantrieb 7a vorgesehen, welche die Mittel 8 zur Bandkantenstabilisierung verstellt. Diese Verstellung kann in Abhängigkeit der Lage der Bandkanten 3,4 erfolgen, also vorzugsweise in einer Richtung quer zur Längsrichtung des Bandes. Durch die De- tektion bzw. Erfassung der Lage der Bandkanten 3,4 durch den oder die Sensoren 6 kann durch die Verstellvorrichtung 7 das oder die Mittel 8 zur Bandkantenstabilisierung derart positioniert werden, dass es bzw. sie jeweils im Bereich einer oder der Bandkanten 3,4 angeordnet ist bzw. sind.
